I get the point about Rollins being pissed about Corny's recent criticism about him, but I am not sure that it really applies. Cornette kept emphasising that he likes Rollins and doesn't blame him for the stuff he was criticising when he briefly watched main roster WWE. While we are on the topic of his Raw reviews, he hated Asuka cutting promos in Japanese and actually called it racist. More than anything, it shows how inflexible his idea of good wrestling can be. The appeal is in the delivery and Asuka's charisma, and Asuka and Kairi have been the highlight of whatever Raw I have watched this year.

Yeah I am sure a one-time comeback match would sell a lot. But all he is doing is presenting a title, and Arn and Jake basically treated that title as a complete afterthought.

WWE TV 05/18 - 05/24 The Last Dance was fucking incredible

Edge to me got worse with the years. Maybe it's because someone told him his nauseatingly bad facial expressions - and that nonsense he would do with pulling his hair and shit when he was trying to show he was "going crazy" or whatever - comprised great acting. He was fun as a midcard heel, and he had a genuinely great character in 2006, reaching his peak with the Cena TLC match. After that, there is some stuff here and there that I like, but mostly it's underwhelming matches and bad angles. That 2010 Kane feud was all-time bad. -

Yeah I love Christian. Also, it's funny cuz one of the things that came to my mind when I heard Meltzer say this was "Boy is he mocking Matt D's mental smarts judging criterion with this." -
Triple H does not look like a Paul either. Now Terra feels perfect for him for some reason

Does anyone in North America buy a PPV for Mike Tyson in 2020? They pushed that heavier than anything and it was so boring to me honestly.

I don't even think she hates WWE. She just doesn't any kind of relationship with them. She never goes around knocking them; this is the first time she has spoken publicly in decades. But she doesn't want anything to do with them, and I think where her issue with Bret stems from is that his being canonised and celebrated as a hero in pro wrestling means absolutely nothing to her, while it means much more to Bret.

Meltzer in his Raw review put over Edge as being brilliant at mentally constructing matches, which makes no sense to me, because Edge's best matches were ones where he had a lot of props and shortcuts to make the match look good. The Edge-Orton WM match, in fact, showed Edge's mental limitations imo, because he clearly drastically miscalculated what would make a good match in the circumstances . -
Is Charlotte Flair the most overpushed WWE wrestler of the century?

I don't think so. Fans turned on Ronda when she wrestled Charlotte, even when Charlotte turned heel. Fans like booing Ronda as much as they like booing Charlotte. -

Sleeze with an excellent breakdown (and I'll add that 'length is strength' is the greatest descriptor in the history of our sport) but I am not sure one can come to the conclusion based on the rundown that Charlotte is not overpushed. A lot of weaknesses highlighted in her peers are booking issues like Vince not getting Asuka's and Kairi's appeal, Bayley being a HHH-style heel instead of her natural babyface role, and even Sasha basically being neutered since 2006. Charlotte is the only one who has been pushed consistently as a top star since Steph invented feminism in 2015, but they don't book her in any focused way at all - not since Becky's rise. It's why, imo, her wins often seem jarring and her few losses meaningless. Charlotte should absolutely be pushed, but she, like everyone, is a victim of WWE booking, and this year at least, her booking has also hurt other wrestlers' momentum. I would mark really hard for a Charlotte feud with a returning heel Ronda though. -
That's a really good comment, @The Thread Killer It's been a while since I read Bret's book, and he definitely loved Owen and his kids. I think Bret, like most Harts, could never divorce pro wrestling from personal life for any of his family members, because of which, fortunately or unfortunately, all his actions have partial wrestling motives behind them - like the career retrospective released under Bret's control for both brothers. Bret needs to understand though that wrestling was not nearly as important to Owen as it is to him, and if trying to highlight Owen's career meant working with the company that killed him, then it would be too high a price to pay for his wife and kids. I don't know where Bret's mind is at right now, but if there ever is a mending of fences, I have no doubt it would be with Martha and Bret. I haven't listened to the Martha interview with Meltzer yet, but having watched her on this episode and heard her on Jericho's podcast, she did seem to like Bret more than the other members. That said, it's not fair on her part to say that he helped her because he wanted to get back at them for Montreal. I don't think that hurt, but I don't believe that was close to the main reason. He helped her because he loved Owen.

That Page comeback was cool. But this show was the first mediocre AEW show of 2020 imo. Some good stuff, but a lot of weird booking decisions, injuries, bad audio issues, just a weird show. And what is up with Cody missing two straight PPV go-home shows. Also, Sammy has now officially been beaten too much. I know he gets his heat back by being in the Inner Circle, but he needs to be pushed as more than a JTTS.

Britt also seemed to be injured. This show feels cursed.
-
I dunno why Nyla had to pin Shida and then get destroyed anyway. It's very WWE-like 50:50 booking.
-
Like, they JUST had an absolutely terrific match without the need to do any stupid dive. If this is not a microcosm of issues with today's wrestling then nothing is.
-
Great, Fenix landed bad and probably injured himself for a flip that was not even the highlight of the segment. I am literally chanelling my inner Corny and screaming at all of them right now.
-
They should film Orange from much closer up. His strength is his selling and facial expressions.
-
These two are cutting great promos but why is Cody not cutting this promo? It makes him look like a goof, having his old manager confront the guy who put a snake on his wife.
-
It felt to me like Mox was burying the entire gimmick. I don't understand why Cody-Archer is playing 4th fiddle to Jake, Brandi and Arn. It's not as if Cody cannot cut a promo by himself.
-
Mox SHOULD destroy this dork, but they also need to sell the PPV. One of the absolute weakest headliners in recent history. Pandemic is not a great time to have a PPV.
-
Brodie Lee is great but the Dark Order still sucks and should never be in the main event.
-
Go-home to a PPV during a global pandemic

They would have never undercut Hogan by having his coronation moment end with him getting screwed. Multiple times.
