Cody has been involved in some very good stuff but mostly in the first year of AEW. After putting over Darby, he did that weird Face of the Revolution match with the utterly corny giant brass ring, and then that Shaq feud that was clearly a launchpad for Jade but which absolutely killed him dead, all for a one-off rating that wasn't even that massive - it didn't help that they had Jade cut very long promos in it, which is clearly not her strength. We all joke about the tattoo being the beginning of the downfall, but there really is some truth to it. Only a man with zero self-awareness would get that shit tattooed on his neck for everyone to see.

Neither guy is contracted to UFC anymore I believe. Hager/Wardlow did do a great rating so they probably do want to do an MMA match with the fighters eventually.

Interestingly I think Rock showed less charisma as a pro wrestler after he came back as a full-time actor than he used to before, but that partly might have been booking. I do agree with the overall point though. Cody IIRC has also taken a lot of acting classes, and it definitely helped him improve his charisma and presence to where he was over like a God in the first few months of Dynamite.

Omega losing too many non-title matches blunts him eventually losing the title (hopefully to Hangman, if Coach Tony K has any sense) and he has already had one loss, so I would do a TV time limit draw, and then book a 2 out of 3 falls match for the PPV.

This shit wouldn't be happening right now if Brock had actually beaten the shit out of Jericho instead of being boring and mature when Jericho confronted him backstage like a man with a death wish all those years ago

It wouldn't have been as bad had it been Santana and Ortiz cutting a promo on the outsiders, not Jericho. Santana is incredible on the mic, they just won a big match, and they are from Queens. If this had to be an Inner Circle angle, then Santana and Ortiz were the obvious choice. Santana could have absolutely heated up this angle simply by cutting a great promo, and the match next week would have been great. Instead we had Chris Jericho pretending he is a shoot badass

Ah, my bad, I thought you weren't high (heh) on him, and I actually haven't seen a single fan who hasn't been at least somewhat high on the guy so I was curious about what you didn't like about him

Also, personally, a bit weird to use Jade as a contrast to Hobbs, when she looked really green last night, and the match was carried by Leyla putting her in the right spots. Jade has an excellent look but I am not convinced she is as athletic and strong as she is being portrayed to be. It happens with ridiculously ripped bodybuilder types sometimes; they're not very strong. For instance I think Kris Statlander is stronger. Keeping yourself constantly dehydrated is terrible for your strength. In contrast, Hobbs wrestles like a big strong dude who can throw you around, exactly like he should. I am not saying he is having amazing singles matches, but I think they have been perfectly fine and his presence and look add a great aura to Team Taz. I don't know how long he has been wrestling for, but I don't see any reason to protest against pushing him right now. He and Team Taz are certainly over.

Yes, we all think Big E is a great main event talent and that Hobbs has tons of potential due to their race. Totally. You have truly cracked our inner motivation, good for you

Did Sting and Tully ever wrestle a singles match?

In what universe is this a bad thing?!?! Everything had a purpose, to book and build matches for next week. I thought it was perfect weekly episodic booking, something AEW has got great at, even if there was no marquee match on the lineup - unless you're one of those who really liked Kaz-Cole - or even a marquee segment apart from the Danielson-Omega confrontation and the Punk beatdown, both of which I thought they absolutely nailed, although I have no idea how they were allowed to say shit on TV so many times. The only segment I thought was actually bad was the Dan Lambert segment.

Well, it's safe to say that they made up for cutting off MiSu's music. The Cody and Lambert segments were awful, but apart from that, I thought this was an excellent episode of Dynamite, and it wasn't even stacked. Next week should be CRAZY!!

I am guessing next week is a draw and then they have a rematch at the PPV?
