Okay, I'm done...I hope. Christian was #1, not only during the Attitude Era but in any era, and I think we all agree on that now.

Because it's an absurd argument. Al Snow never sold a PPV. E&C and the TLC matches did. No one looked forward to Al Snow's matches. Everyone looked forward to those E&C TLC classics. (And I like Al Snow!)

Because I remember how big and important E&C and the TLC matches were in the Attitude Era, and I stand by putting them in the Top 5. Someone saying Al Snow meant more to their friends as some kind of argument is ridiculous. Everyone using Vince McMahon's arguments and perceptions to devalue Christian is something I wouldn't expect from this board. "Tag team wrestler." "B+ player in his own team." I'm surprised.

How? He literally mentioned his high school and college friends in his post. Not understanding your point here. I was responding to exactly what he said.

Yes, since that's what everything thinks I posted, so I'll just roll with it at this point. Christian > Sammartino and Hogan too. Seriously though, people are underestimating E&C, the TLC matches, and tag team wrestling because Vince and WWE did.

Obnoxious posts like this by insecure people trying to get themselves over on a message board will never be funny. Nice try though. Actually read what I posted next time. Because your high school and college friends are an accurate metric. GTFO with that shit.

Nah. Christian is every bit the star Edge is - not his fault Vinnie Grapefruits could never see it. You can talk about TNA all you want, but no one was moving the needle for that little sinking ship that could. NAO was great fun (well, before the bell rang anyway), but they didn't sell PPVs like E&C did with those TLC matches.

Okay, so who would've been better than Christian that was a realistic possibility of signing with AEW?

    AEW Revolution

Everyone in this thread is suddenly Vince McMahon - shitting on tag team wrestling (newsflash: the TLC guys were almost as valuable as Austin and Rock) and thinking Edge is better than Christian because he has nicer hair and whiter teeth. What's next? Going to start posting with a blue dot too? Christian > Edge

People forget how beloved those TLC matches were during the Attitude Era, and E&C won all of them.

Don't see how they sacrificed credibility. He's a huge star - top five Attitude Era guy - and definitely HOF-worthy as advertised.

I guess WWE didn't sign Christian. This was reasonably the best option AEW had. Punk, Brock, and Cena were never realistic possibilities. Angle is broken down. Christian is a great get. Not sure why anyone is disappointed, as it would've been a huge surprise without the hype announcement. As it is, it's still a pretty startling development considering that he was final four in the Rumble only a month ago.

    CHRISTIAN CAGE?

    AEW Revolution

I mean, I'm sure it's still better than whatever he was doing before. He's a complete nobody at the moment.

    And DDP's grandson, of course.

Ethan Page (WHO?!) was the ladder match mystery guy??? Not sure who this is referring to, but shame he didn't do something brave and call out the governor of the state they're actually based in.

So, I made a wise choice saving my money?

Too bad he's not in WWE developmental, where he'd be doing a million hindu squats in the PC and years away from TV - on NXT EVOLVE. (In case my intention is not clear: Thank God for AEW finding and showcasing actual young talent instead of the 37-year-old "developmental rookies" we see in WWE/NXT/UK/EVOLVE/205.)

    AEW Revolution

Nah. I have nothing against people who do that - we're in a pandemic year and times are tough - but I'd rather not take the risk of going on sketchy sites. I don't even know where or how to find this show through *ahem* alternate means anyway.

I will probably regret passing on this, but $50, no PayPal option, and a shitty service like B/R Live (which even Tony Khan is publicly burying at this point) are constant turn-offs. I know some have reported being able to use a VPN to get it cheaper on FiteTV - BTW, international users getting AEW PPVs so much cheaper is another constant turn-off - but I like to watch things on my Roku, so that's out. I'd love for AEW PPVs to air on HBO Max instead, but that seems like a pipe dream. If Coach Tony K is reading this (another pipe dream among some PWO members), make a deal and make it happen! Still, hat's off to AEW for nailing the hype on this one. Everyone is talking about this show, and I'm definitely excited to find out who the mystery wrestlers are and how the main event turns out.

Which is fair enough and more than valid, but cosplaying an old, out of touch, racist embarrassment like Cornette in your posts is not the best way to get the message across IMO.

    AEW Revolution

Jim Cornette, is that you? Have we found your PWO account?
  23. Speaking of DVDVR, remember when Lance Storm had a shit fit about the inconsequential, only nerds care about it, DVDVR 500? That would be like Seth Rollins pitching a shit fit over PWO GWE.
  24. Assuming you mean the sequel, if Vince did watch that dire pile of shit, Crews would never leave catering again. (The original is an all-time classic though!)
  25. I'll look at the Apollo Crews video later, but an actual person of Nigerian descent speaking with a Nigerian accent (which I'm sure he can do fluently and probably does regularly around his parents and family members) isn't even close to being one of the more problematic things in wrestling. Unless the accent is really bad, this feels like a major overreaction by everyone in this thread. His previous act was not working at all - smiling babyface with no character who is good at the rasslin' - might get multiple underwear tugs from the ROH/indie fanbase, but there's no way to achieve long-term success in WWE (or even AEW) doing that.
