Who's to say wrestling fans haven't been doing exactly that for a long time now? Yes, WWE has record-high profits right now (supposedly), but ratings are in the toilet, attendance wasn't great before Covid, etc. Fans have been turned off in droves, most likely because of a bad product, but it could also be because it's perceived that bad people are running said product. Being such open, unabashed, unashamed Trumpets in this climate is going to have some sort of effect on how your audience looks at you.

WWE TV 06/22 - 06/28 If you ain't testin', you ain't gettin' the Rona

This means Moxley could potentially have it too. I really hope not. This year gets worse and worse and fucking worse. -
If that Hollywood trend happened in the '70s, I'd say it was related to what's happening now in WWE. There's no way WWE has its finger on the pulse of anything from this decade.

Bix seems to run detailed pieces though. How does it do it without getting sued? (Or maybe he has been sued? I have no idea.) Also, I see a lot of sites (CagesideSeats, Wrestling Inc., etc.) posting the tweets. How come they're not in danger of getting sued? Is it because they're only re-posting tweets and not posting original material (like a site interviewing a wrestler would be)?

Sadly, I don't think any industry can ever be 100% devoid of anything. But I am really hoping this breaks the industry-wide systemic nature of abuse and puts an end to all of the toxic thought-processes in wrestling - sexual road stories being told for "laughs," women being labeled "rats," etc. But I'm not optimistic enough to believe that will ever happen. For example, what has WWE really addressed over the past week? They fired the low on the totem pole, completely expendable, won't be missed, no one will notice he's gone anyway Jack Gallagher. And?

Trenesha Biggers (Rhaka Khan in TNA) is posting about Kurt Angle. Not a new story, but I'm surprised it took several days to resurface. This is one of many tweets: Is she saying that PW Insider didn't run with the story, or is she saying it ran and then Kurt/Dixie got it removed? I don't frequent that spyware-infested shithole and don't rate any of its "reporters," so I'm asking. BTW, I really need to stop looking at Twitter. Every time I do, it's something new and horrifying. I feel so heartbroken for the poor women and men who have been put through the ringer by such a scuzzy industry.

From Ex-WWE Sheet: Pro Wrestling Sheet has learned multiple people in WWE who have been at the Performance Center tested positive for COVID-19 this week, including in-ring talent. https://www.prowrestlingsheet.com/wwe-covid-19-multiple-people-positive-test-coronavirus/

Over two decades ago, I remember a couple of indie wrestlers (I won't name them, and I'm not sure either of them ever really "made it" anyway) telling me what an ass Quack was. When the rest of the internet started hero-worshiping this guy, I knew better. (Note: Obviously, they did not hint at anything sexual - if that's even what this is about.) CHIKARA also seemed dumb as fuck to me, but I've never actually bothered to watch it, so maybe I'm wrong. *Shrug* With all of that said, I am also kind of unclear about what Quack actually did. Everything I've read so far has been vague and confusing.

I'm glad it's not mockery. Although, I have to assume some Christians might object to the "AF" part of it. But if the Bucks are sincere, good for them. It's a nice shirt. Certainly miles ahead of the badly designed crap WWE puts out. I could actually see people wearing this to a concert or something (but probably not to church, lol).

What the fuck is this?! Are they Christians and this is sincere? Are they mocking Christians? Are they fans of "Captain Charisma" Christian Cage? Someone help me out here... What am I missing???

You might want to rephrase your post. I've read it three times already and I cannot for the life of me tell whether you mean to imply that "Chris Ridgeway, Dave Mastiff, Eddie Dennis, Grizzled Young Veterans, Kip Sabian, Drew Parker, Noam Dar, Rampage Brown...plus loads of guys who aren't as known internationally" have been involved in sexual assault, harassment, etc. or have not been.

That has basically been the WWE template for 50+ years though. -

She has a new blonde look. Makes me wonder if she knew about the cuts and has been planning for life after WWE. Kind of a shame, as there is surely something she can do. (Unfortunately, manager wasn't it, commentator wasn't it, talking head wasn't it. Not sure what else there is...) -

Major cuts at FS1: WWE Backstage will no longer be a weekly show. Ryan Satin is gone. I feel bad for Satin. Even though I'm not a huge fan of the guy or anything, it has to suck to lose your dream job after only a few months. -
Not sure if you mean me for questioning whether Jimmy Havoc's choosing to go into rehab is sincere or just another scumbag move to cover his ass and is actually part of his pattern of abuse, but I stand by it, because women on Twitter have specifically pointed out all the ways Havoc has used his mental illness to continue to manipulate and control them. I do hope rehab works anyway and somehow makes Jimmy Havoc a better man even if that's not his intention, but I'd be lying if I said I believed that was going to be the outcome.
-
Except, I completely disagree that AEW handled Sammy and Havoc the same. Sammy got far worse IMO. However, it turns out there may be reasons for that, according to Coffey's post (below). Not sure why you think I'm assuming every company will handle this like WWE, as I never said anything of the sort. I even praised AEW's (wildly imperfect) response as miles better than WWE. Hager and Justin Roberts are the other names, but I'll be honest that I have no idea what Hager did while Roberts was accused of asking for nudes from a fan who was 17. (If there's more than that, I'm sure someone will post. I've completely lost track at this point, which is a really, really sad indictment of just how bad things are in the wrestling industry.) I didn't know this was Florida law. Interesting wrinkle on why Havoc and Sammy were handled so differently. I hate to come across as cynical, but this really sounds like more manipulative BS by Havoc, which seems to be his abuse pattern of choice. I could be wrong and hope I am.

I edited my comment above to make my stance clearer. Since I did that literally seconds before your response, I'll post it again here. Edit: Going to add that I'd have zero problem with Sammy's suspension - punishment is deserved after what he said - if Havoc had gotten a worse punishment instead of a lesser one + being wished "all the best." And that's not even getting into the other cases AEW is blatantly ignoring. That's why I question the sincerity of this. Of course, all of this is still miles better than WWE shitcanning Gallagher (100% deserved) while turning a blind eye to everyone else (so far). I have no problem with Sammy being punished somehow - he should be - I just question the sincerity of it.

I disagree. I think it's fake "woke" bullshit. 1. It happened before AEW was even a thing. 2. Sammy apologized both publicly and privately to Sasha. 3. Sasha accepted the apology, or at least acknowledged it, and they've seemingly put the issue behind them. 4. And most importantly of all, abusive scumbag Jimmy Havoc got "wished all the best" and was sent to rehab. No suspension. Whether it's technically a suspension and he isn't getting paid, we don't know, because AEW didn't tell us. Just to be clear, I think Sammy was 100% wrong in what he said and I fully support the idea of him getting sensitivity training or whatever (assuming that stuff actually works and isn't just another scam), but AEW sacrificing him at the false altar of "wokeness" is incredibly disingenuous and transparent. I don't believe for even a single solitary second that this is a sincere move by Tony Khan and AEW. It isn't. Not after Jimmy Havoc. It's WWE suspending Harry Smith for a Wellness Policy violation to make it look like they were enforcing the rules. Edit: Going to add that I'd have zero problem with Sammy's suspension - punishment is deserved after what he said - if Havoc had gotten a worse punishment instead of a lesser one + being wished "all the best." It sounds like Jazzy went through some bad shit, but responding to Simone Johnson (Rock's daughter) - who presumably isn't at the UK PC - seems kind of misdirected. Edit: I wrote that under the assumption that there's a separate PC in the UK, but come to think of it, I've never heard of that being the case. Could be she mean the UK workers at the U.S. PC?
