The difference is, Spears has never been pushed beyond his capacity. He was underutilized in WWE, but no one was screaming that he should be a main eventer. Even his high-profile feud with Cody was a midcard spot. I'm discussing things on a discussion board. Gee, what a radical concept!

Please God no. Enough with the PAC experiment. No one wants to see him against anyone that matters. It has derailed Hangman Page completely. But Page either needs to act like a fucking cowboy or ditch the gimmick. I feel like the nickname and persona is a remnant of his Bullet Club days where it kinda, sorta made sense. I wonder if Spears was miscast as a heel. People always wanted to cheer him in WWE. Presumably, AEW fans would've wanted to as well. Spears and Tully is a mismatch too. Tully should be managing a Horseman type, not someone with a goofy hairstyle that makes him look like the old WCW jobber Horshu. With that said, I like Spears and think he has far more upside than PAC. Spears has at least proven he can generate star reactions. PAC is never, ever, EEEE-VVER gonna be a top guy, unless he's completely forced into it, in which it won't get over at all. I'm not saying Spears is a future World Champion either, but a babyface midcard gatekeeper role would be a perfectly fine use of him.

That makes even less sense. Why would Jericho want the Tag belts? I assume it's a decoy and he'll be replaced by Hager to set up a feud with the champs.

PAC vs. Hangman rematch this Wednesday on Dynamite. Tony Schiavone: That'll put asses in seats!

    NWA Powerrr

We are on topic. It was mentioned by Jim Cornette on NWA Powerrr this past week.
  9. I vote to change the thread title back. I have no idea why it was changed in the first place. There was zero offensive about it.

Wish I could answer this for you. I don't remember subtitles being on the free specials or DoN, but that doesn't mean there weren't any. Does anyone else know? You heartless monsters... Sasha Banks would've gone home for six months after pouting on the floor (source: Damien Sandow). Baker made it to the show despite a high fever because "you never miss a date, brother."

That explains why Jacobi had a small role in the Emmerich movie. There's actually a good movie in there somewhere, buried under mounds of confusing flashbacks within flashbacks. It's a shame there wasn't anyone more skilled in the editing room to shape it properly. It also doesn't help that Shakespeare is portrayed as such a buffoon in the movie that no one would've believed him to be a great playwright in his own time, never mind hundreds of years later. I bought it recently from Big Lots for like 75 cents, lol, so I'll eventually revisit it (I originally saw it in the theater when it was first released). But, er, the NWA... The Dawsons would've been prototypical groundlings back in Shakespeare's time. Something, something.
  13. Aren't ringsidenews.com and bodyslam.net the National Enquirer of wrestling newz sites though? If they did get into a fight, I wonder if it was about which one of them looks goofier.
  14. Don't venture into the NWA Powerrr thread then, where that word is overused rather obnoxiously.

*GROAN* He won't be in the NWA six months from now, though, for obvious reasons. Just wonder who will replace him.

What did he say about Rosa? I am still missing certain lines from the commentators because of the sound mixing (although it seemed a bit better this week - but I wonder if the crowd sound was dialed down as a result, because Kingston/Homicide seemingly got zero pop after their face-in-peril hot tag spot).

    NWA Powerrr

I get that you probably like those Seth Rollins "epics" where he BURNS. IT. DOWN. But seriously, there's something to be said for a tightly constructed TV match that tells a great story (multiple stories, in this case) a and doesn't overstay its welcome. Jim also called one of the Dawsons a "doofy bald headed guy" or words to that effect. Seems he's struggling not to bury the fuck out of acts he doesn't like, which makes his restraint when it comes to Cabana all the more remarkable.
  18. Oh, I know, but Trump Jr.'s book is the most recent example of its usage.
  19. Can't believe I forgot the original thread title, especially since it was so memorable. D'OH! A reference to Donald Trump Jr.'s book, I presume?

@The Thread Killer and I are on the same page about this week's show, so I won't bother posting a segment by segment rundown of my thoughts - just read what he wrote because his opinions mostly echo mine. Tim Storm can do no wrong in my eyes right now. Colt Cabana does nothing for me, and I was very disappointed to see him win the National Championship after a pretty weak and heatless match with James Storm that felt like it was in slow motion much of the time. "Boom Boom" also has to be the world's worst nickname ever. It sounds like Cabana is taking a shit. Cornette deserves an Emmy for putting aside his real feelings and remaining professional while commentating Cabana's matches. Thunder Rosa is easily the top woman in the NWA by a mile. With that said, I think the show has done a great job establishing the bond between Allysin Kay and Marti Belle very quickly, so I had no problem with the "turn." Aron Stevens' losing streak is unexpected, but it doesn't matter because he has more heat than anyone else in the NWA. With that said, did anyone else notice Jim Cornette putting out the conspiracy theory that Shakespeare didn't write his own plays? Hey, Jim, do us all a favor and stick to rasslin' and your mama's cornbread casserole, because you're woefully out of your depth when trying to tackle anything even remotely intellectual. Only in wrestling would Eddie Kingston/Homicide have any common ground with The Rock 'N Roll Express. I'd love to be there for their conversations at the hotel bar. @El-P, I love ya, man, but your use of the word "cosplay" and trite criticisms of Nick Aldis make me roll my eyes in the back of my head so hard. Aldis has been a fantastic champion and representative for the NWA, and his match with Tim Storm on the first episode of Powerrr was as good as anything else in wrestling this year. (Edit: Part of this was also a response to @NintendoLogic's post too.)
  21. How does "The Self Destruction of Jim Cornette" mock PTSD in any way? Or did the title of the Warrior DVD mock PTSD too? What am I missing here?

The right answer is to job PAC. Always. Anyway... Ugh, is there really no way to pay with PayPal on B/R Live's trashy site? It's bad enough that the rest of the world gets the PPV significantly cheaper on the far superior FiteTV.
  24. This is the same excuse Hogan used about growing up in the South. It was bullshit then and it's bullshit now with Cornette. Of course, some of you here on PWO will very disappointingly bend over backward to give Cornette a free pass because you liked him and/or the NWA growing up and hated Hogan and/or the WWF. They're both racist assholes, period.
