    NXT talk

Indeed, fuck Jay Lethal and Ring of Honor. But also fuck Albert C. Hardie, Jr. for being just as racist as he claims others are. As usual in wrestling, everyone's an asshole.
  2. So, it was definitely Jay Lethal he was referring to? The tweet got taken down.

    NXT talk

What did he say about ROH? Not seeing anything in any of the above tweets. (I'm pretty tired though, so forgive me if I missed something obvious.) Edit: Found it. f--k ROH TOO! The only allowed ONE African American to be the "Top Guy" while guys like @CedricAlexander TD, @Malcolmvelli and myself had to chase this visible carrot a stick. Name another African American who was reached great heights there other than this Uncle Tom: pic.twitter.com/bb3URXNtyc — Jordan Myles (@GoGoMyles) October 28, 2019 https://twitter.com/GoGoMyles/status/1188832139468591105 Looks like it was taken down though... Who is the "Uncle Tom"? He sounds like a real asshole himself using loaded racist terminology like this. Well, it's definitely supposed to be a mouth. Even WWE sideways admitted that by claiming it's "inspired by" Rolling Stones.

    NWA Powerrr

Old fucks like us. Let's not act like YouTube is this impenetrable fortress that's only accessible to people under 30.

    NXT talk

"Road Dogg preferred the gray" is somehow hilarious to me. You wouldn't get a statement like that in a regular corporate setting. Obviously, the rest of the situation isn't even remotely funny. But man, ACH really DGAF anymore.

    NXT talk

More from the former ACH: (Did he and PAC make a bet over who could have the shittier name?) Is he trying to get fired at this point, or angling for the Luke Harper/Mike Kanellis "get paid to sit at home" package? His anger about the design is justified, but wow, he really doesn't seem to give a fuck if he keeps his job or not.

    NXT talk

My first reaction: Yeah, Jordan, you got a crappy shirt like 99% of the WWE and NXT rosters. So what? But then I had some had some coffee, stepped back, and realized what he was objecting to... WWE gonna WWE...

    NWA Powerrr

My thoughts: - Eddie Kingston has such a unique charisma about him, and his promo was awesome. - For all of the WWE's faults (and they are too numerous to list), they really do have the best women's division in the world - and it's not even close. AEW can't touch them. Impact and ROH certainly can't touch them. And the NWA definitely can't touch them. With that said, wasn't Marti Belle in a previous Mae Young or on an NXT show at least? I know I've seen her before. I am intrigued to see what the Darby Allin-looking Thunder Rosa brings to the table. Memorable look, at least. - Before NWA Powerrr, Jocephus was a pretty cool badass brawler. Now? I don't know what the fuck he is, or more importantly, why he's being presented this way. Is he being buried? Again, I realize he got his hair shaved in an angle, but his current "Zach Galifianakis from The Hangover" look isn't doing him any favors. - Colt Cabana has been awful so far, to the point where I retroactively agree with every awful thing Jim Cornette has ever said about him and I agree 100% with Punk dropping him as a friend no matter how petty his reasons might have been. Seriously though, this shit isn't working at all with what the NWA is trying to be now. I realize he's one of the guys who built the bridge during those lean years, and the NWA is showing him a loyalty he has surely earned, but he really needs to upgrade his lame act. Now I understand why he never made it in WWE and never would have even if Vince McMahon himself was behind him. - The jury is still out on Aron Stevens, who also seems like a misfit, but the fake straight-to-video movie trailers are promising. - Caleb Konley looked great a couple of weeks ago but was "just there" this week vs. Dan Parker. I like Parker's Canadian Maple Leaf trunks though. - Nick Aldis is an excellent Worlds Champion and representative of the NWA, and not deserving of any of the hate he gets. The Kamile angle is weird AF though. I have no idea where it's going. It seems like an abusive situation, which wouldn't work at all in 2019, so I hope they're smarter than that. - The Leather Daddies team is growing on me, just because we haven't seen acts like that since the early '90s heyday of WCW Saturday Night. - Tim Storm is the real fucking deal, and I love him so much. I hope he isn't bogged down in a team with Eli Drake though, or worse yet, used to set up Aldis vs. Drake (I really hope that isn't what the NWA plans to main event with at the next PPV). Overall: Nothing was "great" on this show (except for Tim Storm), but at under 50 minutes, everything flies by and it's still such a fun presentation.
  9. Drew Gulak is a bore. Anything that makes him less boring is a good thing. The problem is, WWE has no idea how to create characters anymore.
  10. Charisma-vacuum Cain winning the title would be even worse than Lesnar holding it.

    Is WWE redeemable?

While I agree with the gist of what @Superstar Sleeze is saying, we all know the internet would have cried bloody murder if Sasha's big return only set up a tag team with Nattie and nothing else the first night.
  12. Did anyone else spot the Adam Cole cameo? Bay Bay!
  13. Probably, but Hep C goes undiagnosed a lot of the time, so a wrestler's death - not exactly an uncommon occurrence to begin with - might end up being attributed to other factors. Thankfully, Hannibal caught it in time and was saved.
  14. Well, that's what I meant by mass murderer. He carelessly infected Devon "Hannibal" Nicholson with Hep C - and God knows who else...
  15. It just dawned on me: Keith Lee is Abdullah the Butcher if Abby could wrestle and wasn't a mass murderer. Yeah, this was awesome. Finn has lacked an edge since joining NXT/WWE a few years ago. Going the Becky Lynch route and turning back babyface down the road with a newfound aggressive streak is probably exactly what he needs.
  16. It can be a major event, but if only 1-2 people here are watching it, it won't be much of a thread - outside of people ridiculing this whole thing without actually watching it.
  17. Why is there a thread for a show I assume almost nobody here has any desire to watch?
  18. Actually, Hager asked for his release. It's just that it happened so long ago that no one remembers, and because it's Hager, no one cares. Fink and Gary Michael Cappetta are the best of my generation, but Roberts has his own distinctive style and carved out a good reputation for himself. He's a great hire. I'm not sure who @tallmike would want instead. Believe it or not, most wrestling ring announcers are really bad. Roberts is excellent.
  19. He's an awesome announcer. Not seeing what the issue is here... Read his book. The WWE culture is toxic and unbearable. I don't fault the guy for getting another full-time gig in the biz after he was so unceremoniously screwed out of the first one. They even rewrote history and erased his involvement with Conor the Crusher. He was the main driving force behind that, not Aunty Stephy, Uncle Paul, or even Daniel Bryan.
  20. Wow, I posted my rant above totally unaware of what Meltzer thought. I, too, am surprised he's against it. He's right though. It's a bad idea, and it's going to crash and burn.
  21. Roids did nothing to make PAC a compelling act though. He's still a troll-faced channel-changer for me - always has been, dating back to his days in NXT as Adrian Neville. Even the AEW "honeymoon shine" that's somehow breathed fresh air into Jake Hager, of all people, hasn't worked on PAC. Forcing a guy into a winning streak and major matches doesn't make him major league. He never will be. Of all the ex-WWE guys now in AEW, PAC is firmly on the bottom. Shawn Spears was a better pick-up, because he has actually demonstrated an ability to get over with the crowd and stay over. PAC is never going to be a top guy. Maybe Spears and Hager won't be either, but at least the fans give a fuck about them and chant for them. No one has or will ever chant for PAC. Even the name is stupid. But yeah, "That Indian Guy" did look like a million rupees and had the best entrance in all of wrestling at one time. The saddest part of his de-push, for me, was losing that entrance.
  22. Hot take: NJPW of America is going to fail spectacularly. Just as WWE has no clue about the Japanese market, NJPW has no clue about the American market. Any success they've had is because it's been a novelty so far or they hitched their wagons to hot gaijin acts like Omega and the Bucks, which are obviously no longer available to them. NJPW stubborn loyalty to the dying ROH is admirable, but that ship has sailed and flamed out. AEW seemingly wants to work with NJPW and has all of the gaijins that attracted American fans in the first place, but NJPW won't budge. I get that it may be a cultural issue, but still. I know it may not seem connected, but the fact that NJPW World is only on Fire Stick (and probably random Android devices) after so many years just reeks of incompetence. If you don't give people an easy way to access your product, they're not going to bother. "But a Fire Stick is only $25" is the type of response only a RASSLIN' fan so deep in the bubble would make. I don't care if it's free - it's not my device of choice, I don't want an extra device I use for only one service cluttering things up, and I think said device sucks. NJPW needs to roll out to other devices like Roku, PS3/4, etc. ASAP. Needed to do that two years ago, but they appear to be clueless about the American market.
  23. Not that anyone gives a fuck, but I've dropped Raw and Smackdown from my weekly rotation. It's not fun anymore. AEW, NWA, and NXT will be my go-to shows for wrestling for the foreseeable future. TBH, I think NXT is cold and stale AF, but it has the best commentary.
  24. To be fair, I don't think that same push would've gone to just any random Indian guy. Jinder was hitting the IcoPro pretty hard, which Vince had to like and take notice of.
  25. Does that article indicate anything about NJPW World being available on devices other than FireTV? Because that has long been a necessary step.
