  1. Anyone having problems getting Royal Rumble 2014 to show up on Roku? (Roku 3) Even when I search for it, it doesn't come up.
  2. Interesting clip shot after the Paige vs. Emma match at NXT Arrival: Paige, Ric Flair, and Charlotte. Oh boy, Charlotte certainly didn't inherit her dad's charisma or mic skills.
  3. Agreed. But why tease it at all? It's a completely illogical spot for all the reasons you stated.
  4. Wasn't he in a mask for most of his career? Even if you could see his mouth, facials would have probably been far less important for him in that situation. I'm guessing it's something he's only now really learning how to do - unlike most other wrestlers, who have to work on that from their rookie year onward. I feel the same way. TBH, I'm a bit mystified by all of the "MOTY" reactions. Was it a very good match and probably match of the night? Yes. I certainly enjoyed it. Cesaro, especially, is awesome. But it didn't quite reach MOTY levels for me for the same reasons you pointed out. I also didn't love the ladder match, but I recognize I'm probably being unfair about that. It's not right to penalize Bo Dallas and Adrian Neville because there weren't as many stupid, life-risking stunts as usual. The stunts that were there, particularly Neville's insane jump onto the ladder from the ring, were great. The failed german suplex attempt from the ladder was such a tease though, but I understand why they wouldn't go through with such an insane spot. Ultimately, I think what the match really needed was five more minutes, with Cesaro/Zayn going five less minutes. I wonder if HBK's long, rambling, pointless speech cut into their time? Having HBK there was a cool moment and I understand the significance, but his speech was the shits. Emma vs. Paige was fantastic, but unfortunately, we never get that kind of women's match from the actual WWE. All in all, technical issues aside, it was an awesome show. I'm definitely hooked on NXT now, and I'm a BO-liever. Character-wise, no one in NXT is better than Bo. I fully expect him to get called up to the main roster after WrestleMania.
  5. On Roku, full shows seem to be working (with some hiccups), but clips still don't work at all.
  6. Was able to finally sign up earlier and add it to my Roku. Website seems to be working okay. I assume Roku is still okay. Won't let me sign in through my phone though - "network error" or some such issue.
  7. Still can't sign up, and it logged me out of my WWE.com account. I forgot my password and it won't send me a new one. Will try again later. Day one issues were to be expected, but it's still disappointing. What's going to happen when everyone is trying to stream WrestleMania?
  8. Considering how little the tag scene means in the WWE, the Usos being "a top team now" is something that can change tomorrow. I'd love to be pleasantly surprised and hear about them walking out of tonight's PPV with the belts, but I don't see it happening. The Outlaws are an Attitude era attraction, and the perception is probably that they'll "help" the Network and WrestleMania. Otherwise, why give them the titles in the first place? Taking them off of Goldust and Cody was monumentally stupid either way.
  9. The New Age Outlaws have no business being the WWE's "top" tag team right now, but (IMO) there's no way they beat Goldust and Cody only to lose on a B-PPV to a B-Team like the Usos. The Outlaws are going to WrestleMania!
  10. From what I understand, it will be on 360 at launch, but Xbox One was listed as "coming soon." There's a reason for it, something to do with the way the Xbone handles apps, but I don't recall the particulars.
  11. Thanks, Timbo. That makes sense. But I can't agree that people who pay $79 a year for Amazon Prime wouldn't want to watch the "free" streaming movies they get through Amazon Prime Instant Video (sort of Amazon's answer to Netflix), even if they also use iTunes. That's like saying people who use iTunes would have no interest in Netflix. Then again, all of these little boxes have their pros and cons. If HBO Go through Comcast only works with Apple TV, that's a pretty big plus. But Roku just added HBO Go/Direct TV access, so maybe Comcast won't be far behind. Kind of ridiculous that DTV and Comcast greedily withheld HBO Go from streaming boxes for so long (and still are, in some cases). But I'm taking this thread way off-topic, I fear, so I'll conclude that I'm glad we'll all be able to enjoy WWE Network no matter what box we have.
  12. I'm confused too, because the Roku doesn't have a web browser either. But more than likely, you'll have to activate your membership through a PC at www.wwe.com/roku or something like that. Not trolling, but what is the appeal of Apple TV? I'm asking out of genuine curiosity. From what I understand, it doesn't run Amazon Instant Video either (if this is wrong, LMK). So, if it's more limited, why choose it over Roku? Obviously, I'm missing something, because a lot of people have Apple TVs.
  13. Also added to the Roku store. When you open it, it just gives you a disclaimer to check back Monday. http://www.roku.com/channels/#!details/37966/wwe
  14. Pretty sure that was a Vince Russo worked-shoot special.
  15. Jerry, I can't tell if you're a film professor, a history professor, or both. As someone who took film classes several years ago, yeah, most of the kids there knew fuck-all about Godfather, Kubrick, etc. (I was a few years older.) The problem is, most people see those classes as "we watch movies the whole time, yeah!!!" and "it's an easy A." Before college, kids generally don't really view film as anything other than instant, disposable entertainment. They also aren't exposed to the classics, generally because they don't have an open mind. "Ewwww, that's old." I'm not painting ALL kids with that brush - some are more knowledgeable and open-minded than others - but most of them only care about the latest and greatest blockbuster. To be fair to today's youth though, at 18, 19, 20 years old, regardless of how much of a movie buff they may be (and I again acknowledge that most are not), they're still just KIDS and there will inevitably be gaps in what they have seen. I didn't see Godfather until around that age, even though I had known for years beforehand that it was regarded as a major classic. There are SO many movies, not enough time in a day, and a million things dividing their time and interests. I consider myself knowledgeable about movies, but I'd be lying if I said I've seen every single acclaimed classic. Even now, I still haven't. I don't think anyone can really say they have. There are just so many. As for history, you're right, it's not taught well. All kids get are the broad strokes, and never in an interesting, informative way that would make those events part of their general knowledge. To them, it's just more boring bullshit data they have to memorize. I blame the school system in that case.
  16. Wow, interesting stuff with the Meltzer report. Whether he's right or wrong, Savage obviously believed that Shawn was selfish and went over. Not exactly a stretch considering HBK's personality at the time. Plus, I refuse to believe Macho/Crush was supposed to be that short. Makes no sense to me. It felt rushed, even then.
  17. Fair enough, but can't the button somehow be removed entirely?
  18. Since I'm here, the "Like This" button seems to have a bug. I haven't voted for anything else, so something's wrong there.
  19. NOW I see it. It's in a very faded font unless I hover my mouse over it, so that explains how I missed it the first time. Thanks!
  20. Am I missing something or is there no edit post option? Come to think of it, was there ever one? Edit: Yep, there is.
  21. Some others that I don't think have been mentioned yet: - Bob Backlund "snapping" on Bret Hart was one of my favorite heel turns as a kid. - Jake turning on Ultimate Warrior after a series of bizarre vignettes that seemed like Satanic rituals to me at the time. This turn is obviously notable less for Warrior and more for the incredible Jake/Macho feud that followed. - Crush turning on Macho Man. Great feud but disappointing WrestleMania match (supposedly because HBK and Razor took up more time than they were supposed to - not that anyone is crying over that today, because the Ladder Match was an all-time classic) - The Natural Disasters' face turn that saw Jimmy Hart side with Money Inc. was weird and convoluted, but I liked it. - Jimmy Hart turning face by protecting Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake from Money Inc. - Ahmed Johnson turning heel to join the Nation only to be attacked by them a few weeks later were both equally shocking. Ultimately pointless, but shocking.
  22. A great commercial, but I don't know if it had the intended effect. It reminded me of how much better Radio Shack used to be, and how irrelevant it is now.
  23. Any chance for a darker theme (black/gray)? No complaints about current theme...just thought I'd ask.
  24. Looks awesome! Finally back on after being shut out a few weeks ago (forgot my password and the site's captcha system was broken, so I coudn't reset it).
  25. C.S.

    Current WWE

I always liked Rip, but seriously, has he ever drawn a dime in his life to be able to say with any authority what's good for business? Maybe part of is that Rip was never really utilized in a major promotion, but with WCW giving at least minor pushes to the likes of Firebreaker Chip and Joe Gomez, Rip probably could have gone places if he had anything at all. Am I being too harsh? Again, I actually liked what I saw of Rip.
