Damn it! On to my backup plan for managers. -
WCCW selects 'The Ugandan Giant' Kamala!

He might be firmly on the list by time this is all done again in 2020.

Hey guys, I don't remember no vote allowing Vince and his kid to move into LA, do you? Was I asleep?
-
An idea I like is if you want to expand to a territory, and somebody else does, you both (or all four or whatever number of people get in there) post a big show there, and people vote on what they think would be the better draw for the area, and whoever wins the poll gets that territory, or some kind of bonus points.

So, does Backlund's reign last 1 MSG show or two? -
Yeah, if Nitro was still drawing mid-3's to low 4's, or still running a profit, Kellner and others may have wanted to kill of WCW, but they wouldn't have had the political pull to do so. I'm sure there's people at USA who want to get rid of RAW because they consider it's low brow, then they look at the ratings and shrug their shoulder.

My idea was basically, that once you get to somebodies RL death date, you start rolling the dice, and go from there. I think it'd be way too much overuse of butterflies when it comes to alternate history to start randomly knocking off guys. My personal view is that probably, RL deaths or major injuries that were a result of the persons long-term issues (Gino, David Von Erich, etc.) probably need to happen close to on time, but if Adrian Adonis isn't in Canada in '88 or Magnum TA isn't on a North Carolina road in 1986, whose to say they're necessarily in the same position?

Just seeing how people actually feel about this, since there have been a variety of views.

WCCW drafts Tito Santana

I thought the idea was somebody would make a nomination (ie. I want Flair to beat Race at Starrcade) and that would go to a vote.

WCCW selects Kevin Von Erich.

If we're doing an informal vote, random 1st round + snake is fair and easiest to do.

The only thing not listed I think is managers. There's a lot of them not in the talent list, and they're not included with the promotion. As for the roster limit, I'd say 36. That gives twenty single guys and 8 tag teams.

I figured as much. Just thought i'd toss them up there in case somebody slipped through the cracks.
-
All right, let's go with Kerry then.

Why I think NXT is stronger than WWE and what that means
Jesse Ewiak replied to dawho5's topic in WWE
On the topic of the size of the writing team, is there any evidence out there showing whether or not Triple H is in favor of the 20 man writing team? I mean, I'm not on the "Triple H will fix WWE once Vince kicks the bucket" brigade, but I can see him downsizing the writing team down to say, six or eight people and be more in favor of less scripting of guys in the long run. -
I totally thought you were going to go after Chris Colt, Dylan. Now, since they're listed together, I assume I can keep them as my guys, and simply not get a 1st rounder, but the Von Erich's are my pick. Kerry & Kevin if I can only keep two.

So, I went through the Virtual Wrestling's forum over on Wrestling Classic and found their roster list for 1983, got rid of the people already listed, and people who were pure jobbers, and went from there. Also, El Bourica all but claimed Puerto Rico at the start of this game, and to be frank, he's obviously the guy that should have it. So, just let Dylan finish whatever 9 hour podcast on May 1974 in Portland he's doing and get this thing done.

Why I think NXT is stronger than WWE and what that means
Jesse Ewiak replied to dawho5's topic in WWE
I think the problem is basically, the USA Network wants three hours of RAW, with stars like John Cena, Daniel Bryan, Randy Orton, Triple H, and the like, on every single hour. Not two hours of "real" RAW, and an hour in the WWE studio. I think a change like that would be as well received in the USA Network's home office as much as if the 1st quarter of an NBA game suddenly became a pre-game show. -
Might want to PM them, since they might not have checked the thread to see everybody posted their promotions. As for the freelancers, I think the best thing might be to have 2 or 3 of the more knowledgable people on that era in the game act as BS detectors and be able to point it out and either have the person edit the results or have Brody 'leave' (ie. if you're jobbing Brody in the opening match of the card). For injuries/deaths, I'm OK with this being an alternate history. Magnum isn't going to be in his Corvette that night. Adonis isn't going to be in a van in Canada. So on and so forth. Different people are going to be in the ring with different people so injuries aren't going to happen. On roster limits, I think a good number is around thirty. Forty is getting to post-territory collapse 'Big Two' numbers for rosters.
-
I think the problem is the definition of 'top guy'. I think Parv is thinking of somebody headlining multiple PPV's. While I think most of the pro-Parka people in the thread are more thinking of somebody who could be in matches with the top WCW guys on Nitro or PPV's (Hart, Hogan, Savage, etc.) without looking out of place.

Well, I totally disagree with it, Max Landis (creator of the Wrestling Isn't Wrestling thing and the writer of Chronicle) posted a Youtube video on why people boo John Cena and it got a ton of love on the wrestling subreddit -

WCCW, PNW, Southwest for me, but I'm open to anything if need be.
