    Goldberg

It's weird, I think Goldberg in a WCW that survives and basically treats him like a special attraction through the mid-00's (ie. squashes guys on Nitro's, has actual competitive matches on PPV against top guys), and continues to have good to great matches with the older stars like Sting & DDP along with the up n comers like Booker possibly might sniff the bottom of this list.
  3. WCCW Saturday Night Wrestling September 3rd, 1983 (Taped August 28th, 1983) To begin the show, Lowrance went over the big four matches that would take place on today's show, and also hyped Labor Day Star Wars, happening in only two days, going over the lineup including Brody & Kerry defending the Tag titles, the Six-Man titles being defended, and a new Texas title being determined. This was announced to be a huge show with four massive matches, but Korstia Korchenko and Bugsy McGraw never happened, as the evil Russian attacked McGraw from behind as he was coming to the ring, battering him with punches, kicks, and finishing it off with a Russian Hammer on the outside, before delivering a lashing with the heavy Russian chain, until World Class officials pulled Kochenko off the body of McGraw. Coming back from commercial, Lowrance apologized to the fans for the previous match not taking place, but was happy to announce that Labor Day Star Wars, McGraw & Korstia would face for one more time! He then welcomed Kevin Von Erich to the show. Kevin then went after both Big John Studd, who he said was holding a stolen Six-Man title belt ; Al Madril, who he called a liar, cheat, and a SOB who'd be taken care of either by a Von Erich, Tito, or any other good man in the World Class locker room, and finally, he went after Bad News, saying that he was sick 'n' tired of Bad News attacking his family, this promotion, Texas, and his fans, and that at Labor Day Star Wars, he'd shut Bad News up once and for all! In the next match, Norvell Austin, Al Perez, & Bobby Duncum defeated The Bodacious Blondes & Ciclon Negro when Duncum pinned Riddle with the lariat in 8:01. After the match, Timbs simply shrugged his shoulders and pointed to himself, implying that Duncum still had to pin him for it to count as a real victory. Devastation Inc. (Kamala, Kabuki, Madril) defeated Kerry Von Erich, Tito Santana, and Bruiser Brody in 15:32 when Madril pinned Tito by nailing him with the TV title belt, while the other four men brawled on the outside. As you'd expect, things only got more heated after that, but eventually, World Class officials seperated all the men involved, including Norvell Austin & Al Perez, who came down to ringside. There was a final video from the Freebird's, from North Carolina. Hayes & Roberts laughed about the misfortune the Von Erich's had faced with losing the Six-Man titles, and then said, “Kerry, get ready to lose another title!' In the main event, and the other semifinal match of the Texas title tournament, Kevin Von Erich advanced to the finals, by defeating Big John Studd with a inside cradle when Studd & Akbar collided with each other in 16:31. After the match, as Von Erich celebrated, Bad News Allen Coage entered the ring, and drilled Kevin with a big Ghetto Blaster to end Saturday Night Wrestling.
  4. WCCW Saturday Night Wrestling August 27th, 1983 (Taped August 22nd, 1983) This edition of Saturday Night Wrestling opened with Marc Lowrance opening the show, trying to lead into the first match of the evening, only for a jubilant Skandor Akbar and the rest of Devastation Inc., including Al Madril coming to the ringside area, with the Six-Man Tag titles. Lowrance attempted to explain the situation, but Akbar cut him off, stating that he was tired of 'Von Erich' propaganda. After belittling the crowd, Akbar then attacked the Von Erich's, Tito Santana, before pointing out tonight, they'd defeat the tag team champions and let the world see what paper champions Kerry & Brody were. After that long interview, Saturday Night Wrestling properly started off with The Bodacious Blondes defeated Bobby Duncum & Mike Miller when Timbs pinned Miller after a double bulldog and single arm DDT by Timbs in 7:51. After the match, Timbs did a hip swivel over Miller's fallen body, but then ran away when Duncum entered the ring. Before the commercials, Bad News Allen Coage interrupted Lowrance, before running off on a rant about the Von Erich's, and largely avoided talking about his opponent for the night, aside from stating that “he has a future, if he gets his head right and stops caring about these rednecks who probably thinks his Mama was illegal anyway.” Coming back from commercial, Korstia Korchenko was about to face off against an unknown opponent, when Bugsy McGraw came in and began brawling with the Russian brute for a few minutes, until World Class officials and various lower card wrestlers kept them apart. The Freebird's had another video, from Charlotte, continuing to insult Texas, the Von Erich's, Devastation Inc., and talking up Ric Flair, the Mid-Atlantic territory, and of course, North Carolina BBQ. Next up, Tito Santana © pinned Gran Markus II with a suplex to retain the TV title in 5:53. After the match. Tito had an interview with Lowrance. Santana said he was disappointed with the defeat in Dallas, especially when it was caused by a snake like Al Madril, but while Akbar may think he was some genius, the Von Erich's and himself weren't idiots either. In fact, after talking to Kerry & Kevin, they'd come to a mutual agreement that at Labor Day Star Wars, he was going to use his rematch clause with two new partners! As the crowd cheered, this made Skandor Akbar to come rushing to the ringside area, all by himself, and begin shouting about how this was impossible, illegal, and immoral. Tito simply said for Akbar to look at the contract. After a moment, Akbar calmed down and say, “no matter. Whoever you have as partners, my men will crush them!' Tito simply shrugged, and then Norvell Austin & Al Perez came out to a large cheer from the crowd and stood beside Tito. In the first semifinal match of the Texas title tournament, Bad News Allen Coage pinned Al Perez in 16:13 after the Ghetto Blaster. Shockingly, Coage largely fought Perez cleanly with only his inherent roughness, such as keeping hold on longer and attacking Perez in the corner, instead of blatant cheating. After the match, Coage didn't attack Perez, simply raising his fist to the booing World Class crowd, and making his way to the back, screaming, 'THAT'S TWO DOWN, FRITZ! YOUR BOY IS NEXT IF HE CAN PULL IT OFF!' Before the main event, Brody & Kerry had an interview with Lowrance. Kerry gave Tito his live blessing about the Six-Man title match on Labor Day, and said that he was happy to soften up Studd & Kabuki before then. Brody said that he didn't care about Akbar, Hussain, or even the Freebirds. He was here to help the Von Erich's and cause some bloodshed! In the main event, Bruiser Brody & Kerry Von Erich © defeated Big John Studd & The Great Kabuki when Kabuki spit mist into Brody's eyes to cause a DQ in 12:33. After the match, the rest of Devastation Inc. came out, only for Tito, Norvell, and Perez to rush out to make the save as the show closed.
  5. August 19 th Dallas House Show Bodacious Blondes & Ciclon Negro d. Al Perez, Mike Miller, & Gran Markus II when Timbs pinned Miller with the Single Arm DDT in 16:21 after Riddle dropped Miller's neck on the ground. Korstia Korchenko pinned Bobby Duncum in 9:53 after the Russian Hammer. With this being a house show match, Duncum largely controlled the match, attempting to teach Korchenko how to work. Sivi Afi defeated Killer Tim Brooks by countout in 14:17 after Hussain led his charge to the back after it looked like Afi was going to defeat him. It looked like Brooks still wanted to fight, but Arman talked him into going to the back. Bad News Allen Coage pinned Norvell Austin in 17:42 after the Ghetto Blaster, in a largely clean win, outside of the usual heel cheating throughout the match. In the main event, Devastation Inc. (Kamala/Kabuki/Studd) defeated Tito Santana & The Von Erich's (Kerry & Kevin) to win the WCCW World Six Man Tag Titles in 26:30 when Kamala pinned Tito with the Big Splash after Al Madril made his debut, running in and knocking Santana out with a horseshoe while the other four men were brawling in the ringside area.
  6. WCCW Saturday Night Wrestling August 20th, 1983 (Taped August 15th, 1983) This edition of Saturday Night Wrestling opened up with Marc Lowrance interviewing Devastation Inc. Akbar eagerly agreed to the Texas Tornado Six-Man match in Dallas on August 19th, then said that tonight, Kerry & Brody would feel the full force of Devastation Inc. In the opening match of the Texas Title tourney, Bad News Allen Coage pinned Bobby Fulton in 8:13 after the Ghetto Blaster. The young high flyer did his best to make Coage uncomfortable with the pace of the match, the Olympic medalist ably fought off Fulton and took him out. After the match, Coage refused an interview with Lowrance, simply yelling into the camera, “ONE DOWN, FRITZ!” before leaving the ringside area. A flustered Lowrance threw it to a video package for Tito Santana. Before the next match, Lowrance had an interview with Iceman Parsons, who got a warm welcome from the World Class crowd, before he had an interview about thanking the World Class fans for remembering him, and that tonight, he'd get one match closer to becoming the new Texas champ by KO'ing Big John Studd, 'like the overgrown crybaby he is!' In the next match of the opening round of the Texas title tourney, Al Perez pinned Butcher Vachon in 7:12 with a Oklahoma Roll after Vachon charged him in the corner. The veteran brawler dominated the earlier parts of the match, but Perez' technical know how confused Vachon and allowed him to get the victory. Next up, Big John Studd managed to pin Iceman Parsons in 12:09 after Akbar nailed Parsons with an object at ringside, and the big monster powerslammed Parsons to the mat. The wildly popular former World Class star had the most impressive showing so far among the guests in the tourney, coming close to victory several times, as Akbar had to save Studd from losing by putting his foot on the ropes after a big backdrop by the Iceman. There was another video promo from Hayes & Roberts, continuing to insult Texas, the World Class fans, Devastation Inc, Bruiser Brody, the Von Erichs, the World Class fans, while also talking up how wonderful Ric Flair, North Carolina, and the rest of the South was. Before the next match in the tournament, Tito Santana gave a short promo with the TV title, promising to defend it as much as possible along with his other commitments, and also wishing Kevin well in the Texas title tournament. As he left, Lowrance asked him about Bad News Brown's comments the previous week, but Tito simply brushed him off as a jealous man who was upset that he simply wasn't good enough. Next up, Kevin Von Erich advanced in the Texas title tournament by pinning Spike Huber with the Von Erich Claw in 5:59, largely dominating the match and even no-selling much of Huber's offense. After the match, but before the big main event, Brody, Kevin, and Kerry had a long-ish interview segment, going over their match with Hayes & Roberts at the big Labor Day show, the Texas title tournament, Devastation Inc., and even challenging the World champ for the future. However, as all three men went to either leave or head for the ring, Devastation Inc. jumped them, and the main event was on! The main event of Bruiser Brody & Kerry Von Erich and Kamala & The Great Kabuki lasted under a minute before the match was thrown out thanks to interference from Skandor Akbar, Kamala, Kevin Von Erich, and the rest of the roster. The show ended with Brody & Kamala brawling in the middle of the ring while the crowd went nuts.
  7. WCCW Saturday Night Wrestling August 13th, 1983 (Taped August 5th in Dallas, TX) The show opened with Marc Lowrance in a TV studio set-up, explaining tonight would be a special episode of Saturday Night Wrestling, focusing on the big August 5th show in Dallas. He then threw it to the opener, after going over the lineup. In the opener, The Bodacious Blondes defeated Mike Miller & Gran Markus II when Timbs pinned Miller in 10:13 after Timbs hit a low blow and cradled Miller while Riddle and Markus brawled on the outside. About five minute of the match was shown on TV. After the match, Timbs & Riddle had a promo, making fun of the face team, challenging any team in the nation, and then saying they'd take on Bobby Duncum and 'and idiot' anywhere and anytime, unless of course, they were facing real competition Next up, Korstia Korchenko pinned Bugsy McGraw with the Russian Hammer in 6:10. Bugsy tried to get some damage in on Bugsy and even slowed Korstia some, and even got him to back off for a moment or two, but in the end, Korstia was just too much for McGraw. After the match, Korstia continued to attack McGraw until he was left laying in the ring. In the studio, Marc Lowrance announced that despite the despicable attack by Korstia, Bugsy McGraw will be back in action as soon as possible and in fact, he has challenged Korstia for a rematch. After that, Bad News Allen Coage pinned Bobby Duncum in 12:33 with the Ghetto Blaster after Coage hit Duncum with a modified Hotshot on an exposed turnbuckle. About eight minutes of the match was shown on TV. Following that, Norvell Austin & Al Perez defeated 'Killer' Tim Brooks & Ciclon Negro when Perez pinned Negro with a running bulldog in 13:51. The final six minutes of the match was shown on TV. Following that match, Austin & Perez had an interview with Lowrance where they thanked the fans for the support, went over their feud with Brooks, Negro, and Mongol in recent weeks, but also made clear the fact they'd face anybody in World Class, whether it was the Bodacious Blondes, Devastation Inc., or even anybody out in the larger wrestling world. Before the semi-main, there was a video highlight package for Sivi Afi, focusing on his feud with Brooks & The Mongol and his success in World Class since his debut. In the semi-main event, Sivi Afi defeated The Mongol by DQ in 14:34 when Arman Hussain made his return to World Class, attacking Sivi Afi, then helping The Mongol beatdown the Samoan wrestler, until Austin & Perez made the save! Eight minutes of the match was shown on TV. Arman Hussain then had an interview with Lowrance, flanked by Mongol & Brooks, explaining that only a top class mind as himself could control two beasts such as Mongol and Brooks from 'his various estates in Mecca, Tehran, Paris, and Mexico City', and that now he was back in Texas, only more chaos would happen. Before the main event, in a 'paid advertisement', there was a static shot of the Confederate flag and a chyron staying 'Charlotte, NC', than who was back on the screen than The Freebirds!. Hayes and Buddy, with no Gordy is sight, cut a heated promo on Brody & Kerry, saying that they'd left for better pastures, that Dallas was a 'podunk town full of counterfeit cowboys' and that 'the women in good ole' Carolina are all natural compared to the Dallas, the new Silicon Valley!' Both men then promised to take the tag titles back to Mid-Atlantic, and 'maybe we'll hand them over to our good new friend Ric Flair, or even just toss 'em into the bottom of the ocean, where they belong!' Finally, in the main event, the World Six-Man Tag Team Champions Tito Santana & The Von Erich's (Kerry & Kevin) fought Devastation Inc. (Studd, Kamala, Kabuki) to a DDQ in 20:07 when the match fell into chaos and a DDQ was called. Twelve minutes of the main event was shown on TV. To end this special episode of Saturday Night Wrestling, Lowrance interviewed The Von Erich's and Santana, who challenged Devastation Inc. to a rematch for the August 19th Dallas show, only this time, there would be no DQ's, no CO's, and it would be under Texas Tornado rules! Syndicated TV Results Weekend of August 13th, 1983 (Taped July 29th, 1983)
  8. PASS
  9. Just a public notice I should have some basic results w/ some interview highlights and such posted by the end of the weekend.
  10. Hey, sorry. Life kind of got a hold of me the past couple of weeks. I'm still in. Trying to catch up with some basic posts by the end of this week, then going from there. And possibly doing some backfill.
  11. It's the day before Wrestlemania I. For some reasons, Bad News Allen is visiting the WWF locker room and walks in on Hogan using the n word. What does Vince do to rebook Wrestlemania while they wait for Hogan to get out of traction?
  12. I'm halfway between the "everything is fine" reaction and the "it's a political hit reaction and Reigns is doomed" reaction. I think obviously, they could've pushed him better. But, in all reality, being in the upper midcard is probably the best place for him at the moment, at least while what is up top is happening up top. However, I also think that Reigns running over people would get him over - as long as he was running over the right people. Ignoring the fact that there's some small Internet contingent for every wrestler on the roster, probably 60-70% of the roster Reigns could semi-squash and only a small percentage of the crowd would react badly to that. Throw in some more bullet list style promos that he's supposedly great at, and we've got a recipe for an over face. As long as Bryan isn't in the Rumble...again.
  13. Ya' know, thinking about it, in pure number of **** matches among families, the extended Johnny Ace - Garcia family know has to rank pretty high - Road Warriors, Johnny Ace, Cena, and Bryan.
  14. Ratings up 4% - Triple H is a draw, guys!
  15. Awesome work w/ GCW, but just gotta' mention that Jake needing two DDT's to take Koko down is a big thing.
  16. WCCW Syndicated TV Air Date: Weekend of August 6th, 1983 (Taped July 15th, 1983) - Highlights were shown of the end of the Santana-Kabuki match on the 7/30 edition of 'Saturday Night Wrestling', the Von Erich's came to the ringside area. They apologized for not being around for that edition of Saturday Night Wrestling, but promised that in Dallas, they'd take care of Devastation Inc. - Norvell Austin & Al Perez defeated The Mongol & Ciclon Negro in 7:47 when Austin pinned Negro after a diving headbutt. - After the match, Austin & Perez had an interview where they challenged any tag team, whether it be the Bodacious Blondes, members of Devastation Inc., or anybody out there in Texas for a tag team match. - Before the next match, Akbar had an interview with his charges, claiming that he'd be managing the Six Man tag champions and Texas champion within a few weeks, then the roll of Devastation Inc. would only continue. - The Great Kabuki & Kamala ran over Gran Markus II & Mike Miller in 4:22 when Kamala splashed Miller after Kabuki nailed him with a thrust kick. - After the match, a highlight video was shown of Butcher Vachon, including lots of footage of him in various bloody brawls. - Before the next match, the Bodacious Blondes had an interview, claiming they'd prove the Von Erich's were frauds tonight, and that they were the true stars in World Class! - Sivi Afi defeated 'Killer' Tim Brooks by DQ in 7:14 when The Mongol ran in to assault Afi as the Samoan rising star hit a flying dropkick and was going for the pinfall. After the match, Mongol & Brooks assaulted Afi until Austin & Perez made the save! - In the main event, Kerry & Kevin Von Erich defeated The Bodacious Blondes when Kerry locked Riddle in the Iron Claw in 10:03.
  17. Saturday Night Wrestling Air Date: August 6th, 1983 (Taped August 1st, 1983) 0:00 – 0:06 Lowrance started off another edition of Saturday Night Wrestling by going over the action tonight, including a big main event with Kevin Von Erich taking on The Great Kabuki in a non-title match, plugging the fact we'll see highlights of the big Dallas show next week here on Saturday Night Wrestling, and then welcomed Fritz Von Erich to the ringside area for several big announcements. After thanking Fritz for his time, both men went over the big news. First of all, Fritz announced that at the big Labor Day Star Wars, WCCW was happy to welcome back Bruiser Brody to team with Kerry Von Erich to defend the WCCW Texas Tag Titles against two men that Fritz was very happy had to come back to World Class, “thanks to the fine folks in Georgia,” none other than Michael Hayes and Buddy Roberts! The crowd cheered that announcement, and Fritz noted that even if they couldn't get the whipping they deserved from all the Von Erich's, at least Kerry would be able to get a few shots in for the family. Next up, Fritz announced that there would be a tournament to decide a new WCCW Texas champion, and was happy to announce that several rising stars and legends from all over the country would be competing, along with WCCW stars. At that point, a graphic came up with the tournament graphics. Kevin Von Erich Spike Huber Big John Studd Iceman Parsons Bad News Allen Bobby Fulton Al Perez Butcher Vachon Lowrance expressed surprise that Kevin would be competing in the tourney, considering he was already the American champion. Fritz explained that Kevin had come to him personally and asked for this opportunity to become the first man to hold both belts. Since Kerry would be wrestling for the tag titles, and most contenders for the American title already in the tournament, Fritz agreed! Lowrance thanked Friz for his time, expressed his opinion that the Texas title tournament would be a dandy thing, full of big matches that you'd only be able to see on Saturday Night Wrestling. 0:06-0:10 Commercials and Local House Show Advertisements 0:10-0:24 Bobby Duncum vs. Ken Timbs w/ Rock Riddle Duncum was a house of fire from the beginning, going after one half of the Bodacious Blondes, but unfortunately for the big Texan, Timbs simply slid out of the ring. Ignoring the booing fans, Timbs conferred with Rock Riddle on the outside of the ring while Duncum yelled at the duo. After a moment, and the ref's count getting higher, Timbs rolled back in the ring, and went for a collar and elbow lock up. Duncum simply pushed Timbs away, forcing him into the corner. Duncum headed toward Timbs in the corner, but Ken deftly tip toed out of the corner like a scared cat, then kicked Duncum in the back of his knee, then took Duncum down to the mat with a drop toe hold too boos from the Fort Worth crowd. Now, with both men on an equal footing on the mat, Timbs went on the attack, dropping a knee on Duncum's back, then hitting the ornery Texan with a big kneebreaker that brought Bobby crashing to the mat. Timbs jawed with the crowd, then headed toward the 2nd rope, climbing up. Calling out to the crowd, Timbs then leapt and drove the point of elbow right into the hard chest of Bobby Duncum and the went for the pin, but could only get a two count. While yelling at the ref for a slow count, Timbs took the opportunity to drive a boot in the side of Duncum's torso, then pull the big man up by the hair. Timbs hit Duncum with a few chops, then sent him into the corner. Bobby stumbled out, Timbs hit him with a knee to the mush which forced Duncum to double over, and then one half of the Bodacious Blondes drilled Duncum with a swinging neckbreaker. Once again though, Duncum kicked out at two to the cheers of the Fort Worth crowd and a freak out from Rock Riddle at ringside. Timbs kept his cool though, while sneering at the ref though, and grabbed Duncum's legs, and it looked like he was going to go for a Figure Four, but Duncum kicked Timbs away, not once, not twice, but three times, with the last time sending Timbs up and over the top rope. Finally on the attack, Duncum wasted no time heading outside to go after Timbs, but unfortunately for the cowboy, Rock Riddle was still out there ringside. But, on the downside for Rock Riddle, Bobby Duncum was quite upset and drilled Timb's tag partner with a big right hand that knocked him to the ground. After staring down at Riddle for the moment, Duncum headed over to Timbs who was still on his knees. Taking no quarter, the big cowboy from Texas grabbed Timbs and sent him right back in the ring. Duncum then rolled in the ring and waited for Timbs to get up, then kicked him in the stomach and delivered a big hanging vertical suplex to one half of the Bodacious Blondes. With the crowd cheering, Duncum signaled to the crowd, and went for the lariat, but Timbs dove under the assault. Timbs then kicked Duncum in the kidneys and brought Duncum into a backslide and put his foot on the ropes while Riddle held that foot – and got the pin to boos from the crowd! Ken Timbs p. Bobby Duncum – 8' 52” The crowd, Bobby Duncum, Marc Lowrance, and largely, anybody who weren't the Bodacious Blondes were upset with the result of this match. As the two men hugged to the boos of the Fort Worth crowd, Duncum went on the attack, attempting to tackle both men, but only managing to knock Riddle to the outside of the ring, while Timbs slipped away, while various World Class officials stormed inside the ring. Stumbling out to the ringside area, Duncum grabbed the mic, calling Timbs a lucky pretty boy and said that if either Timbs or Riddle would get in the ring, he'd “knock him down to ole' Mexico!” As one would expect, the Bodacious Blondes happily headed to the locker room, celebrating all the way. 0:24-0:28 Commercials and Local House Show Advertisement 0:28-0:40 Gran Markus II vs. Korstia Korchenko As the bell rang, the luchador decided not to be a victim, and instead went right after the Russian monster, nailing him with kicks, forearms, and even a headbutt. But, then Markus made a mistake – he tried to take Korchenko down with a hiptoss. The big Russian easily used his power to block the attempt, then forcefully sent Gran Markus into the corner, where the Mexican athlete bounced off the turnbuckles right into a big boot from Korchenko. Yelling out 'Soviet Number One', Korchenko then stomped and kicked the hell out of Markus for a few moments, before pulling him up to a vertical base. Then, Korstia drilled Markus with the Russian Hammer and picked up the quick victory. Korstia Korchenko p. Gran Markus II – 3' 05” After the match, Lowrance tried to get another interview with Korchenko, but once again, Korchenko completely avoided Lowrance and headed to the back. This time however, Bugsy McGraw came to ringside and pushed Korchenko in the chest and said he was sick 'n' tired of Korchenko disrespecting America. Korchenko stayed silent as McGraw continued to lay into him. Lowrance went to Korchenko to respond, but the Russian simply grimly smiled – AND WALLOPED BUGSY WITH A RUSSIAN HAMMER THEN RAINED DOWN PUNCHES ON MCGRAW ON THE FLOOR! With Bugsy out on the mat, Korchenko grabbed the mic from Lowrance and simply said, “I accept.” As World Class officials came out to help Bugsy up, Lowrance threw it to a Bobby Fulton highlight package, focusing on his high action run with Sweet Brown Sugar in Memphis and his team up as 'The Fantastic Ones.' Coming back from the highlight package, Lowrance promoted the big Dallas show, the Labor Day Star Wars show, then welcomed Sivi Afi to the ringside area. Lowrance highlighted Afi's recent early success in World Class, but then shifted over to his recent problems with Killer Tim Brooks and The Mongol. Afi said that he was already for a fight, and in Dallas, you'll see him taking on The Mongol. Then, after that, he'll take on any comer, whether it's somebody from Devastation Inc. or a scumbag like Bad News Allen! 0:40-0:44 Commercials and Local House Show Advertisements 0:44-0:54 Tito Santana © vs. Ciclon Negro Even though Negro is far from a crowd favorite, Santana treated the long-time wrestler with respect as he came in the ring, handing over the TV belt to the referee, while accepting the cheers from the Fort Worth crowd. As the bell rang, the two men locked up, and the match immediately went to the mat. Trading holds quickly, Negro gained the early advantage with a head scissors, but Tito reversed it, getting Ciclon in a hammerlock, then a deep armbar. Negro fought out of it though, but Santana went right back on offense with an arm wringer, then a series of hiptosses and a shoulderblock which knocked Negro to the ground. As Negro got up, Tito went for a knee lift, but the veteran was ready for the TV champ, and took Negro down by grabbing Santana's legs, then locking in a modified crab on the mat. The veteran grappler then went to put on a spinning toe hold, but Tito kicked Negro away. As Santana got up, Negro hit him with a few kicks and right hands, then sent the TV champion into the ropes. However, Santana ducked under the clothesline attempt by Negro, then hit a big dropkick on Ciclon, and followed it up with a headscissors takedown that sent both men down to the mat. Tito was up first, calling out to the cheering crowd, hitting Negro with a knee lift, then sent his challenger to the far ropes – FLYING FOREARM! ONE! TWO! THREE! TITO RETAINS! Tito Santana p. Ciclon Negro – 5' 40” After the match, Lowrance welcomed Santana to ringside and congratulated him on his victory. Santana tanked Lowrance, the fans for their respect, but said that in Dallas, he didn't want to disappoint the fans by losing the Six Man titles to Devastation Inc., so he was glad he had great partners in Kerry & Kevin Von Erich. To the cheers of the crowd, Santana yelled 'ARRIBA', then held the TV title up to the crowd. 0:54-0:58 Commercials and Local House Show Advertisements 0:58-0:66 Big John Studd w/ Skandor Akbar vs. Mike Miller As the bell rings, Studd raises his fist to the booing Fort Worth crowd, then charges Miller, immediately attacking him with a running forearm, followed by a big boot that sends Miller right back into the turnbuckle. Studd continues his attack, walloping Miller with several hard shots across the chest. Miller fights back with forearms and kicks of his own, but the 350 pounder from Pennsylvania shrugs off most of his offense, before grabbing Miller by the skull and tossing him into the center of the ring. As Miller gets back to his feet, Studd grabs him and locks him in. Big John goes for a body slam, but to cheers from the Fort Worth crowd, Miller slides out of it. Immediately, knowing this is an opening, Mike goes on offense, drilling Studd with punches, kicks, and even several stiff elbow shots that send Studd reeling to the ropes. Miller grabs Studd and sends him into the ropes, but the Pacific Northwest stalwart makes a mistake by ducking his head for a backdrop too early. Studd stops himself, kicks Miller in the skull, then adds insult to injury by stepping right on Miller's head to play to the crowd. Miller slowly gets to his feet, and is actually able to block Studd's first attempt at a body slam, but after a heavy shot to the back, Studd is able to grab Miller and hit him with a big bodyslam. While the crowd boos, Miller is locked into the Reverse Bearhug and after several moments of fighting it off, the referee checks, and the arm drops three times, giving Big John Studd a victory on Satuday Night Wrestling! Big John Studd SUB Mike Miller – 5' 35” As the crowd booed, Big John Studd stood with Skandor Akbar, arrogant as hell while Lowrance went over the fact that Studd would be in the Texas tournament, and could be part of the Six Man champions by time that tournament was over. Akbar went into full rant mode, stating that it was a conspiracy that Kevin Von Erich was allowed in the Texas title tournament, a conspiracy that these mystery men were in the tournament, but it didn't matter, as Devastation Inc. was the most powerful force in wrestling, so the next time Saturday Night Wrestling was on the air, Devastation Inc. would be the Six Man champions of the Earth, and in under a month, this man would be the next champion of the most terrible state in the Union – Texas! 0:66-0:70 Commercials and Local House Show Advertisement 0:70-0:90 Kevin Von Erich vs. The Great Kabuki w/ Skandor Akbar Before the bell rung, Kabuki sprayed his mist in the air to the boos of the Fort Worth crowd, while Marc Lowrance continued to promote the fact that these two men would both be in the big six-man title defense shown next week here on Saturday Night Wrestling, and that win or lose, Kevin Von Erich would be part of the Texas Title tournament. As the match started, the two men circled each other with Kabuki going after Von Erich with quick martial art kicks, but Von Erich used his speed and wiliness to deftly avoid the kicks. But, Kabuki was able to also avoid Kevin's attempts to grab Kabuki in a lockup. After a minute of this, the American champion finally circled and trapped Kabuki in the corner, and was able to get in a lockup with Kabuki, but Kevin wanted to fight and immediately used his power to tackle Kabuki down and rain down on him with punches before both men rolled around to the ropes. After a few seconds of both men throwing shots at each other, the referee disentangled both wrestlers from each other and made them stand up. Kevin immediately threw in several right hands at the mysterious Japanese wrestler, then took him down with a snap mare, following it up with a quick knee drop. Unfortunately for Von Erich though, the follow up elbow drop missed, and Kabuki quickly scrambled to his feet and drilled Kevin Von Erich with several thrusts to the chest and throat, causing Von Erich to back up against the ropes. Von Erich tried to lock back up with Kabuki, but the member of Devastation Inc. locked on a NERVE HOLD to the boos of the Fort Worth crowd. However, the boos and jeers of the crowd quickly rose to cheers, as after a moment of struggling, Kevin locked on the Von Erich Claw to Kabuki's stomach! Kabuki immediately fell to his stomach, causing the Japanese grappler to release the hold. Von Erich slowly got to his feet after Kabuki grabbed the ropes, and went for a dropkick, and it drilled Kabuki in the chin, knocking him back to the corner. The Texas warrior immediately continued his assault on Kabuki in the corner, with kicks and punches in the corner, but Von Erich got knee'd in the mush by Kabuki, causing him to back away and collapse in the middle of the ring. With a grin, Kabuki waited for Von Erich to slowly rise to his feet – THRUST KICK! ONE! TWO! KICKOUT BY VON ERICH! Without taking a moment to argue with the referee, Kabuki locked on an immediate nerve hold again while Akbar cheered his charge at ringside. Slowly but surely though, with kicks, elbows, and an attempt at the claw, Von Erich got Kabuki to the ropes, even though the Japanese veteran took until the count of five until he broke the hold. Kabuki went after Kevin once again, but the American champion fought back with several kicks, then hit a heavy elbow strike to knock Kabuki silly. Kabuki stumbled out, Kevin hit a quick hiptoss, then scrambled to the top rope – FLYING CROSS BODY! ONE! TWO! THR – KICKOUT! As Von Erich stood up, Kabuki avoided an attack by Von Erich, and trapped in the corner, Kevin got drilled by a quick Kabuki martial arts kick, who then followed it up with a judo style throw, then Kabuki locked on the Double Nerve Hold! Kabuki kept the hold locked on, but Von Erich continued to fight back, throwing kick after kick to Kabuki's legs and knees, and eventually Kabuki had to break the nerve hold. The two men locked up, and Kabuki got Von Erich in a head lock but the scion of the finest Texan wrestling family was able to grab Kabuki and take him down with a huge back suplex to the cheers of the Fort Worth crowd. Kevin immediately followed that up with a kneedrop, an elbow drop, and then to the cheers of the crowd – LOCKED ON THE IRON CLAW! Kabuki began to fade away, while the crowd stomped their feet and clapped their hand, so Akbar did the only thing he could – jump on the ring apron and began yelling that Kevin Von Erich was doing something illegal. The referee went over to speak to Akbar, and after a moment with Kabuki struggling even more, Von Erich had to drop the hold and go after Akbar. Grabbing him by the lapel, while the referee tried to get Kevin to step away – Kabuki attacked from behind! A few thrusts to the neck and chest, then a quick martial arts kick to the chest knocked Von Erich down to the ground, then Kabuki hit a vicious quick elbow drop to massive boos from the Fort Worth crowd. Kabuki then quietly waited for Von Erich to get back to his knees – THRUST KICK! NO! VON ERICH DUCKED OUT OF THE WAY – SMALL PACKAGE BY VON ERICH! ONE! TWO! KICKOUT! Both men get up and start brawling in the middle of the ring, and Von Erich gets the better of it, and sends Kabuki into the ropes – BACKDROP BY VON ERICH! Kabuki gets up – IRON CLAW! IRON CLAW! Von Erich has it locked in the middle of the ring, Akbar can't do anything - MIST! MIST! MIST! KABUKI SPIT MIST RIGHT IN KEVIN'S EYES! Kevin Von Erich DQ The Great Kabuki – 13' 51” Kabuki began to kick the hell out of Von Erich in the middle of the ring, beating him down as the Fort Worth crowd booed. Akbar got in the ring, and got a few shots in on Von Erich, but quickly ran away as Kevin got back to his feet. Still slightly blinded, Kevin began to throw wild punches which Kabuki largely avoided, only to fall victim to Devastation Inc. as Big John Studd came out to the ring and began to attack Von Erich. But, if the crowd was booing loudly, the cheers were rapturous as TITO SANTANA AND KERRY VON ERICH HEADED TO THE RING! Devastation Inc. quickly absconded from the ring, and the other two members of the Six Man champions helped Kevin to his feet, as Saturday Night Wrestling ended. 18. Good stuff up and down the card, especially on the big show. Flair-Funk is an awesome main event, Schultz-Slaughter was probably an awesome wild brawl, and the Russians get the big tainted win over the 'Birds.
  19. When Nick Bockwinkel is in your opener, ya' know it's a loaded show. Seven minutes is about the right amount of time for the second match. Hopefully, Mando did most of the work, and just let Dick and Andre get their spots in. Guessing the blood started to flow outside of the ring. Otherwise, there's some issues with the rest of the show. Zybysko - Atlas II! Good match to move the tag titles to a 'bigger team' now that you've expanded as a territory. Of course Harley won the main event, but it also improved Chavo's position in the NWA as a whole.
  20. Really good house shows all around with awesome tag action, and Mantell-Armstrong main events putting the cherry on top.
  21. That main sounds awesome, and probably would be proof of Hogan's working ability in this timeline. I still don't trust Olympia completely though.
  22. Fun stuff with The Tongans killing folks, the random team of Vachon & Brunzell, a fun match with Rose/Rougeau, and the closing angle.
  23. - Hmm...why do I not buy Funk not showing up at all. Because this is wrestling. - Blackwell has a nice promo setting up the big battle royal. Even though I see it ending up bad for Blackwell. - Ah, there's Terry! Awesome brawl between Funk and Bret in the parking lot. - Hmm, Dino is a good challenger for Martel. Even though Martel's still too attractive to lose yet. I wouldn't trust Matt Borne either. Seems like a clown.
  24. Obviously, the Philly cards are the ones to watch this week, but both of the TV shows are interesting with Backlund slightly going nuts, an entertaining Bockwinkel & Heenan segment, and of course, more awesome commentary.
