  1. I know for JCP, we are "recording" the show on Thursday, but I won't post it until Saturday mornings and then on Sat nights, we have the big shows from Greensboro and Charlotte.
  2. Quick question - did we finalize our plans on the new names in August? Also, if a promotion closes, would their names be added to the list of those eligible to be picked in a 1 or 2 round draft?
  3. Nice. IF anyone is up for the PWI thing, I'd be interested in that down the line. Could be fun to look at rankings. I recently got my hands on the fall 1983 PWI magazines and it is funny to see the WWF on the second pages of rankings in comparison to the AWA and NWA.
  4. Is this going to be similar to PWI? It would be fun to use the covers from that time and then make our own stories and rankings from each promotion to add in.
  5. I agree in the fact that the "switch" doesn't have to be at Starrcade but could definitely happen before and if it is in Greensboro, we could make it a special event. The question would then be looking at who would challenge at Starrcade if Race isn't in the picture.
  6. This is not fair to Flair! Here is the lineup for that card from the Scope in Norfolk! Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling Thursday July 7th 1983 from the Scope in Norfolk, Virginia! 8. Sunday July 3rd 1983 MACW live from Legion Stadium in Wilmington, North Carolina Joe Lightfoot & Bob Bradley defeated Ben Alexander & Steve Estes The Tonga Kid defeated Tiger Williams Nikolai Volkoff defeated Barry Darsow Fantastic Tommy Rogers & Hector Guerrero defeated Doug Vines & Tony Zane Brad Rhenigans defeated Bill White TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP Terry Gordy defeated Chris Markoff MAIN EVENT - ELIMINATION MATCH! Ric Flair, Michael Hayes, & Buddy Roberts defeated the Iron Sheik & The Vachons
  9. IF and I say IF the plan is to move the title in November, I can promise as booker that Hayes would be ready under my watch, but that is just in the details and finding a way to work with other promotions and get him recognized around the "country" if you will.
  10. HISTORY MADE IN GREENSBORO! Saturday July 2nd 1983 MACW live from Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina The Vachons defeated Hector Guerrero & Barry Darsow The Tonga Kid defeated Ben Alexander The Russians & The Freebirds (Michael Hayes & Buddy Roberts) went to a double DQ. Fantastic Tommy Rogers defeated Steve Estes NWA TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP Terry Bam Bam Gordy defeated The Great Kabuki to WIN the NWA Television Championship! Brad Rhenigans defeated Doug Vines MAIN EVENT Ric Flair defeated the Iron Sheik via roll up
  11. I love the idea of Reed as the champion down the line. He could seriously turn some heads and work with so many people. He is definitely a fighting champion who could brawl and wrestle with the best of them.
  12. Friday July 1st 1983 MACW live from County Hall in Charleston, South Carolina The Russians Nikolai Volkoff & Chris Markoff defeated Bob Bradley & Tony Zane The Tonga Kid defeated Rudy Diamond Barry Darsow & Joe Lightfoot defeated Doug Vines & Steve Estes Hector Guerrero defeated Ben Alexander Fantastic Tommy Rogers & Brad Rhenigans defeated Bill White & Tiger Williams Michal Hayes & Terry Gordy defeated The Vachons MAIN EVENT The Nature Boy Ric Flair defeated The Iron Sheik via DQ
  13. Ric Flair - Logical choice and someone who will be able to go anywhere and everywhere to work Michael Hayes - I hate to pick two MACW guys, but someone got this conversation started and he's interesting to think about as champion Butch Reed- Here's a guy I'd like to see if we could develop into a champion, perhaps too soon right now, but give it some time and he could be a historic champion for multiple reasons

National Wrestling Alliance Showcase Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling is a regional wrestling promotion closely affiliated with the National Wrestling Alliance. Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling is owned by Jim Crockett Jr with Beast running the day to day operations while Low Blow Podcast is the head booker. Together, this group of individuals is looking to revitalize Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling with some of the biggest names in wrestling. Mid Atlantic will be showcasing their talent on Saturday mornings with hosts Bob Caudle and David Crockett. Here is a look at some of the biggest stars in Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling and those who will without a doubt shape its course in history. Ric Flair Without a doubt, Ric Flair is the crown jewel of MACW. He is a former NWA Heavyweight Champion who is hell bent on getting the title back from the man who took the title, Harley Race. Will he be the next in line for the gold or will he find new challengers in MACW. Promoters from all over the world have been calling Jim Crockett to set up challengers for Flair who will without a doubt be the most traveled wrestler in 1983. Dr. D, David Schultz Perhaps one of the biggest wild cards in MACW. Dave Schultz is one of the most charismatic and genuine tough guys in the sport. in MACW, he is going to be up against some of the toughest talent in the world and he has already gone on record to say he will face anyone, anytime, anywhere. Dr. D's career is one of controversy and he is someone who will without a doubt make an impact every time he shows up for a fight. The Iron Sheik One of the strongest competitors in the world is surely the Iron Sheik. He has a proven track record of being dangerous from bell to bell and will go to any lengths to get exactly what he wants. The fans in MACW may not like his political allegiance, but his loyalty to his country is something to admire. He is looking to make waves nationally and let the world know that he is number 1! The Fabulous Freebirds - Michael Hayes, Terry Gordy, & Buddy Roberts Wherever they have gone, whoever they have wrestled, and anywhere they have partied, they have left their mark. The Freebirds have changed the scope of professional wrestling since their arrival and they look to do the same thing in MACW. There is not a group of wrestlers in the world who can match them in the ring and on the mic and they look continue their reign as the most controversial group in the history of professional wrestling. Hayes has made it known that the Freebirds are the true golden trio of wrestling and are willing to prove it anywhere in the world. Who can possibly stand up to these three men and slow them down? Fantastic Tommy Rogers A relative newcomer to MACW, Tommy Rogers has got the look and the skills to step into the ring and make an immediate impact in the world of wrestling. He has been successful as a tag team wrestler and looks to turn that success into singles competition in MACW. Rogers has already gone on record in saying that he has high hopes for his tenure in MACW. Word has it that Rogers is already lined up to head to the WWF to showcase his talents while honing his skills and bringing it back to MACW to hopefully get his hands on some gold down the line. The National Wrestling Alliance is the oldest governing body in professional wrestling and Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling is one of the spearheads of this organization to promote and showcase the top talent from all around the world. The individuals showcase in this article are simply a piece of what makes the NWA great and will without a doubt be men who shape the future of the NWA and those who will be measures of its success in 1983 and beyond.
  19. As the booker of JCP, I don't want people to get misunderstood by bull-hype of what happened in "real life" in comparison to what we're doing here. I would be more than interested to work Lawler into our television and vice versa. Memphis has a distinct style that some of our guys like Dr. D and the Freebirds could flourish in while Lawler and some other Memphis stars could come to JCP and showcase their talent as well. Please don't try and dilute the idea of what DID happen with what is GOING to happen.
  20. Should we set a deadline on when voting closes? Like grimmas said... There's three days to go before shows so some things need to get in place.
  21. I know this isn't my game, but I can only stress how convoluted that has the possibility of becoming. Everyone here seems interested in other people's products and with shows and giving feedback, those threads could get very hard to follow. A forum for just shows would allow people to follow a product and give feedback while being easy to navigate. Again, not my game, I am just a player. Just want to give my two cents. I am all for whatever we choose to do.
  22. One thing people can get lost in is details of matches. When doing the Territory Wars - I went from short to long to short in terms of detail of a match. I know at one point I simple put Wrestler A defeated Wrestler B by Finisher @ designated time. I know for squash matches, there isn't too much point to detail unless it is driving a storyline. In between shows, discussion amongst hosts can be a good catalyst for storylines and also take up a lot of time. After writing the first MACW show, we are at 5 pages and around 2,000 words and it is a detailed with five matches and promos. My question is in regards to where we will be posting the shows? I may have missed it, but is there going to be a sub-forum for that? Perhaps called the Event Center.
  23. My question would be, is your free television show in which you showcase talent a GCW production or an NWA production? I know the potential joint show is an NWA show and has less to do with JCP but more to do with the entire organization that is the NWA.
  24. But if we are basing anything off reality - Paul Jones was never President while Geigel and Crockett both were. So is perceived "experience" more important that perceived "respect?" I think there is a clear dislike for the idea of Beast being president and holding Flair in MACW and not giving him up. I can promise you as the booker of JCP, Flair's schedule will be more than kosher with all those involved. If we simply communicate, I can promise that he will have his opportunities to fulfill dates and everyone will get there chance. Even in my pre-booking, I can say that Flair is more of an attraction than someone who is a week in and week out guy. He is like Andre in the WWF, someone you expect to be gone but when he's here, it is special. I know this gives away some booking plans, and I apologize to Beast, but I think that the irrational fear of containing Flair in one promotion will not be the case.
  25. I can appreciate that. Are we going to vote before July 1st? I know I am outside the inner circle a little bit, but this is an important first step for us as the NWA.
