  1. Good to see Beefcake getting a little run in - hard to argue that he wasn't over in a big way at this point in his career IRL. Jack and Mad Dog... empty arena couldn't hold these two!
  2. No doubt that PCW continues to be on top of the wrestling world. Your consistency has been key for this promotion to grow into such a powerhouse and showcase the talent as well as you do. I would like to see Malenko and Chono IRL... seems like a fun clash.
  3. I love the Bossman vs Rude set up... Heenan has got his man with Rude but Bossman looks like he may take everything from him until Nailz shows up. I am interesting to see where Dusty ends up in the scheme here... could he have one more run left in him?
  4. WCW Power Hour - 2/8 Gordon Solie & Paul E Dangerously bring us in with a highlight reel from the Clash. We get the announcement that Sting will not be able to compete in the WCW World Championship Match at WrestleWar. We will find out what will happen with that contest tonight on WCW! We also find out… at WrestleWar… the tag team titles… champions vs champions… Road Warriors take on the Rockers! They turn the tide to the US title gauntlet… we’ll have a new champion on Sunday night… but tonight we’ve got 4 huge matches… let’s go to the ring! US Title Tournament Nikita Koloff vs Sting was a no contest… Sting couldn’t compete… Pillman came out in his stead but was held back! It was announced that Nikita will have a match and a contender is going to be here this evening… US Title Tournament Abdullah the Butcher w/ Gary Hart defeated Kona Crush in an interesting contest. Abdullah doesn’t do much in the ring and Crush is able to sell for him and work in some offense. This ends up with a count-out victory after Abby pulls out the fork and jabs him in the throat. Crush is outside the ring before Gary Hart kicks him in the skull before the 10-count and Abdullah wins! US Title Tournament Tommy Rich defeated The Berzerker w/ Gary Hart via DQ. This wasn’t that great… Berzerker is nothing but a brawler and Tommy Rich gets the crowd involved but it just isn’t good. I am sure someone else could have been put in this spot. US Title Tournament Flyin Brian defeated Michael Rotundo in a hard fought 10-minute contest. Pillman has got a lot of fire. Rotundo does his best to keep things close. Pillman reverses a German suplex into a running crossbody for the 3-count! Pillman gets the win and he moves on! JJ Dillon comes out and announces that due to Sting’s injury, they needed a replacement for the tournament and who better than former United States Champion… Wahoo McDaniel! US Title Tournament Nikita Koloff defeated Wahoo McDaniel in a one-sided beatdown. Tatanka came out to try and help matters but it was thwarted by Ivan Koloff. In the end… Wahoo gets nailed with the Russian Sickle twice… clutches his throat and goes down… Nikita with the 3-count and he’s moving forward. We’ll find out the finals coming up tonight on WCW! World Championship Wrestling - 2/8 Tony Schiavone & Jesse Ventura welcome us in and put over the Clash. They talk about all the happenings and the big injury to Sting. Tonight… JJ Dillon will announce who will face Lex Luger. We also hear about the tag title confrontation between the Rockers and the Road Warriors at WrestleWar. We have two big matches announced for tonight… Brian Pillman vs Abdullah the Butcher and Nikita Koloff vs Tommy Rich… the winners of those matches will face off tomorrow night on the Main Event for the WCW United States Championship! We find out that Ron Garvin is out indefinitely… his injury has been deemed too serious to compete! We head to the ring for our matches… Owen Hart & Davey Boy looks pretty good as a tag team. We hear mumors of them challenging for the US tag titles soon?! The JYD and the Berzerker go to a no-contest… which brings out the Samoans and the Nasty Boys… the brawl is thwarted for the time-being. Just as JYD is looking to leave the arena area… the One Man Gang and Kevin Sullivan pop out of the back and attack him. He can’t catch a break! The Road Warriors win a simple tag team showcase… they let us know that it isn’t about titles at WrestleWar… it is about respect and they’re going to beat it out of the Rockers! We get the announcement we’ve been waiting for… JJ Dillon comes out and he addresses the crowd. Lex Luger comes out… with a limp of course… and he stands with Dillon as it is announced… at WrestleWar… Lex Luger will defend the WCW World Championship against… all of a sudden we see Paul E Dangerously walk out with Muta. They get into the ring and Paul E tries ripping a hole into Luger but JJ Dillon halts him… he tries to announce the challenger again but now we see Ric Flair come out with Arn and Ole! Flair and Muta are now face to face and you can feel the tension. Dillon separates them… and he announces that… at WrestleWar… it will be Lex Luger defending the WCW title against… Ric Flair! Flair celebrates but Muta is pissed… Muta kicks Luger in the knee…. Flair turns him around and Muta with the MYST and Flair’s face is covered! Pure chaos! US Title Tournament Flyin Brian defeated Abdullah the Butcher via DQ. This was a wild one and ended when Abby pulled out the fork again… but Pillman dropkicked him out of the ring to the floor. Abby pushes the referee to the ground but then Pillman out of nowhere off the apron with a crossbody! The crowd is 100% behind him… can Pillman win the gold? Kona Crush is out here and he gets a nice ovation from the crowd. The crushing move gets the crowd pumped. The Hillbilly Hog Farmers win a tag match… still trying to figure those guys out. The New Skyscrapers kill a couple of guys… it isn’t pretty but Sherri looks good. The Diamond Studd beats the hell out of someone… he’s got star written all over him according to Jesse Ventura! We get another promo from Luger who puts over the match with Flair. He says that this is his destiny. People have called him a paper champion but come WrestleWar… it is one on one… the world title on the line… the defining moment in both men’s careers. There can only be one World Champion and you’re looking at this! US Title Tournament A good matchup between Tommy Rich and Nikita Koloff finishes up our broadcast this week. These are two pros… Rich sells… sells… and sells some more for Nikita who looks primed for something big. Ivan is out there causing hell and ends up tripping Rich… only for him to turn around and here comes Nikita with the RUSSIAN SICKLE! Rich crumbles down… Nikita covers for the 1…2…3! It is Pillman vs Koloff tomorrow night… oh man! Just when you thought it was done… Flair is out here and he is covered in the green myst on the white shirt…. It’s stained and also his face and hair… it’s an image. Flair is on a roll saying that he is going to risk his entire career on this one match. He wants the World Title more than anything in this world. He is willing to put everything on the line and Luger is going to have to walk the aisle with the best damn wrestler in the world and the one true world champion! WCW The Main Event - 2/9 Eric Bischoff & Bob Caudle pump up the Main Event and the US title on the line tonight… it will be Flyin Brian or Nikita Koloff who walks off with the WCW United States Championship. They put over Flair vs Luger at WrestleWar. They put over the Road Warriors vs the Rockers at WrestleWar. We will find out these matches that have been announced: Tommy Rich will challenge Rick Martel for the TV title, Davey Boy and Owen challenge the Power and Glory for the US Tag titles, Jushin Liger returns to the US to take on Muta for the International Championship, plus a special contest called BATTLEGROUND? More on that contest next week! US Title Tournament Final Flyin Brian vs Nikita Koloff w/ Ivan Koloff went 20-minutes and these two left it all in the ring. We saw Ivan Koloff try to get involved but Pillman nailed him with a baseball slide dropkick! Nikita sold just enough to keep it interesting but Pillman really went to another level. Nikita continued to push the limit and Pillman kept fighting. We get some chaos that ensues when the referee gets knocked out….Pillman goes to the top rope and hits a crossbody but the referee is down and no count. Pillman is irate… what the hell is this… Arn Anderson? Double A comes out and he’s on the apron before Pillman comes over and they are jawjacking and then Pillman with a huge right hand and Anderson goes flying… Pillman turns around and RUSSIAN SICKLE! Referee crawls over for the 1…2….3!!! Nikita Koloff is the NEW United States Champion… this is outrageous… Caudle and Bichoff put this through the roof… we’ll see more on this next week on the Power Hour!
  5. Clash of the Champions X “Texas Shootout” – Corpus Christi, TX – Memorial Coliseum – February 6, 1990 Welcome ladies and gentlemen to the CLASH OF THE CHAMPIONS! Tony and Jesse bring us in to Corpus Christi - Jesse has got that ridiculous cowboy hat on while Tony is rocking the Bolo Tie. The crowd appears to be pretty hot as we hear the run down of what’s going to come down tonight… we’ve got all three tag titles on the line… the television championship… plus the pairings for the United States Championship Gauntlet that takes place next weekend… and of course the main event… Ric Flair and Arn Anderson taking on Sting and WCW Champion, Lex Luger! No better time than the present… let’s get it going right now with the WCW World Tag Team Championship! The Road Warriors defeated the Samoans w/ Gary Hart in a hard fought tag team contest for the WCW World Tag Team Championship. Samu and Fatu were right there throughout the match and really bent every rule they could in order to gain the advantage. The Road Warriors had to fight back and they did. In the end… we saw a nasty piledriver on Fatu but he no sold it… only for Hawk to come flying off the top rope for the clothesline and then the 3-count! The Diamond Studd, Scott Hall, won a singles match against Big Josh. A great showcase for Hall, who is Jesse’s words is going to be the man in this sport, no doubt about it. The Diamond Death Drop is enough to shake the ring and get the crowd pumped! We go to a special angle where JJ Dillon is out with Gordon Solie… he is excited to announce the eight men who will go for the US title next weekend in the special gauntlet! We’ll see, the big man from Hawaii… Crush taking on Abdullah the Butcher! Flying Brian will compete against Michael Rotundo! The Wildfire Tommy Rich will take on The Berzerker! In the final match… we will see… former US Champion… Nikita Koloff… taking on STING! Then we get a convoluted angle… Sting comes out to do an interview for the US title tournament and the tag match tonight. He and Gordon are talking in the ring but here come the Horsemen. Luger is nowhere to be found. The Horsemen are goating Sting who isn’t having it. He says he’s got his shot at the WCW Title at WrestleWar… the US title is going to be a cherry on top! He says that Nikita Koloff is going to feel the wrath of the Stinger just like the Horsemen are going to feel tonight. That’s when all hell breaks loose… The Horsemen attempt to go for Sting but he fights them back only for Nikita Koloff to come out of the crowd… Russian Chain around his arm… and he just DESTROYS Sting’s knee from behind! The Horsemen pounce and Flair has the figure four locked in out of nowhere! Officials and agents are down here… here comes Flyin Brian, Owen Hart… and now WCW Champion Lex Luger! The Horsemen roll back up the rampway… Nikita Koloff has vanished… Sting is in a bad way! We’re back on the Clash and it is time for the US Tag Team Championship. Power and Glory w/ the help of Brother Love find a way to defeated Wahoo and Tatanka. Tatanka has got a lot of upside and Wahoo may be his best asset but his worst weight as he just can’t seem to keep up. We don’t get the powerplex… but we see Roma roll up Wahoo with a handful of tights and that’s all she wrote! We get another simple showcase with Davey Boy Smith getting a big win over Cowboy Bill Irwin. It is short and sweet and Davey Boy looks good. We then get another interview with Gordon Solie in the back… Sting is being carted off on a stretcher… Luger is shook… he has no clue what’s going on. We get word as JJ Dillon comes into the scene and says Sting will not be able to wrestle tonight! We go back out to the ring for Sherri who is standing in the middle of the ring… she works the fans and then she announces that she has secured another Skyscraper… she announces… standing 6’9”... Dangerous Danny Spivey… his partner… standing 7’ tall… from the Motor City… Big Kevin Nash! Here comes this huge man… he is taller than Spivey… he’s got a good look… they come down to the ring and beat the living hell out of two bloaks. Spivey does the work… Nash gets the shine. Nash hits an absolutely disgusting helicopter spin on one of these gets and sends him flying to the mat and then out of the ring! We get the double powerbomb and that is all she wrote. These two are big… they are bad… they are dangerous… they are the SKYSCRAPERS! The Horsemen are with Bob Caudle and they are nothing but laughs… they put over the Main Event and how tonight… they have got rid of Sting… and next they will get rid of Luger and that will be the end… the title comes back to Flair just like that… but then we see Brian Pillman come into the scene… some friends are holding him back… he says he is coming out there to fight the Horsemen tonight! WCW Television Championship - Ron Garvin vs Rick Martel © w/ Brother Love ends up being an interesting match. Garvin comes out, head taped up… but he pushes the referee away to fight and he and Martel go to work. This one isn’t much but some hard-hitting action and soon, Garvin’s tape comes off and Martel has busted open that nasty cut. Blood is starting to flow and the referee calls for the bell right away. We see a doctor run out to the ring and put a towel on his head and it is nasty. Martel is being held back by Brother Love but they’re all smiles… Garvin looks to be in a bad way… can he recover from this injury? Lex Luger is in the back with Bob Caudle and he talks about the big tag match tonight… he puts over the Horsemen… he says Nikita is a coward for attacking Sting. Luger says he’ll go in there by himself if he needs to. NWA Tag Titles - The Rockers defeated Mike Rotundo & Curtis Hughes in a pretty decent tag team match. The Rockers had control of this one from the beginning and held it all the way till the end. Rottundo and Hughes are decent enough but just something seems to be missing. In the end… a double superkick on Hughes is all she wrote and the Rockers walk out with the gold! WrestleWar promo… with Sting vs Luger being advertised….what will happen there? International Triple Crown Championship - The Z-Man vs The Great Muta w/ Paul E Dangerously - Another decent match… Zenk doesn’t have the skills to outdo Muta but he brings his A-game tonight. Muta hits his spots… the quick elbow drop… the spinning back elbow smash… Zenk fights back through and gives him everything. We then see Zenk set up a top rope dropkick but Muta moves… hits the ropes and SHINING WIZARD OUT OF NOWHERE! 1…2….3!!! Muta retains the gold but it is not the only title he wants… Sting & Lex Luger vs Ric Flair & Arn Anderson w/ Ole Anderson is the advertised match… The Horsemen come out ready to take on the world… we hear from JJ Dillon that Sting cannot compete and he’s been taken to the hospital. Luger comes out and he has a nice ovation from the crowd… but he’s by himself… for a moment… here comes Flyin Brian! Flyin Brian & Lex Luger versus Ric Flair & Arn Anderson w/ Ole Anderson is a good main event for the Clash. Flair and Luger is the real clash everyone wants to see. Pillman and Flair does light up the crowd though and everyone is going wild for it. Ole Anderson pops his head in and out when he can. Ole pops his head in once too often and Pillman with a suicide dive out of the ring taking him out! This sets up Flair and Arn to double up on Luger. The Total Package does fight back and he has got the crowd behind him. Luger hoists up Flair in the RACK and the crowd is going wild! Double A from behind and he chops the knee of Luger! Luger goes down and he’s in a bad way… Flair rolls him up with a clear handful of tights and the 3-count! The Horsemen have won it. Luger is now clutching his knee. Pillman looks like he’s ready for blood as the Horsemen retreat! We’ll see you for the Power Hour on Saturday!

Paul E: I want to welcome in the WCW World Champion… Lex Luger and his opponent… I mean PARTNER… the number one contender for the WCW Champoionship… Sting. Gentlemen… you two are going to step into the ring with the Horsemen on February the 6th and with all due respect… the one questions I need to ask is this… to you… Lex Luger… why are you… AFRAID OF FACING THE GREAT MUTA!?!? Lex: Listen Paul E… we knew this going into the interview… you had a whole agenda and it wasn’t what we discussed… you want to go into business for yourself… well pal you’ve got two guys who are not afraid of anyone… and we’re going to talk about what we want to talk about. I am standing here with my partner… my best friend… Sting… Paul E: And your next challenger correct? Lex: You see Paul E… I don’t view Sting as a challenger… (Sting confused look) No… no… what I mean… is that Sting is my friend… we’re together at the Clash and then when it comes time… we will enter the ring and have the match of a lifetime. Paul E: And what is going to happen in that match Mr. Luger? What is going to happen at WrestleWar when you stand across the ring from your partner… from your friend… from the number one contender and CHALLENGER for your WCW Title?? Sting: Let me be the one to answer this one… Listen Paul E… you may want to go into business for yourself… but we know what it is all about… we’ve got our minds focused on the Clash and once that is done… we focus on WrestleWar. Right now… we’re one… and when it comes to it… it’s going to be one on one. Lex: That’s right Sting… listen Paul E… we’re at the height of our careers… we could never accomplish more than what we’ve done right now! Never will our careers or accomplishments be more than this moment! (Sting looks confused) Sting: What are you saying man… listen… we’re clear… first we get rid of the Horsemen and then it is me and you… we know that… now I don’t know about you but when it comes to accomplishments… accolades…goals… that belt right there is the height of my list… but I know that one thing has to happen before the other… but don’t think for a second that I can’t win that title… because that’s what I plan to do. Lex: Sting… Sting…calm down man… this is what they want… they want us to break apart and not be together… we’ve got unity… I am the champ… we’ve got it all under control! Flair… Horsemen… we’re coming for you! Paul E: Well there you have it… right here in the Danger Zone… Luger… the champion… Sting… the challenger… both of them not only afraid of the Horsemen but of the GREAT MUTA! MAIN EVENT Eight Main Rockers & Road Warriors vs Samoans & Hughes & Rotundo is a really interesting eight-man… let’s just say there are some STIFF tags between the Warriors and Rockers… the Samoans and the Hughes and Rotundo are working well together. We hear that Hughes and Rotundo are going to be known as the SEC… Securities and Enforcement Corp! Well, that name may not stick but we’ll see… This one ends up kind of interesting… Gary Hart gets involved outside the ring. Hawk gets tied up in the ropes. The Samoans double team him. Rotundo and Hughes throw the Rockers into the guardrails. They get back in the ring and it is a 4 on 1 on Animal… then the Rockers look at one another and … are they going to walk out… no… the run in the ring and hit a pair of superkicks! They unlocked Hawk. The Road Warriors then double clothesline the Samoans out of the ring to the floor. The referee makes the count out and the Road Warriors and Rockers are the winners… and then they shake hands… these guys are due for a clash but first they have title matches at the Clash so we’ll see what happens!
  7. Awesome stuff - any way you can make one of these and have a picture with it? I am sure you've done it before but that would be a cool addition.
  8. "*Unless stated otherwise, matches were taped at the Kingston Memorial Centre in Kingston, Ontario, Canada.*" Such a fun touch... love the show and the way things are coming together. Heenan and Monsoon are of course a standard... Rhodes has got his hands full... I like him to have a good 1990.

  14. I was legit shocked to see Warrior lose to Haku and then come back to win the Rumble. Back to Back for him if you count last years. I will say that you nailed the Rumble in the way it was written - I find these to be tough matches with so much to manage but you did a great job. I am excited about this WWF direction that you've got going. Just similar and just different enough to make it interesting and keeps you on the edge of your seat to what happens next!

TV TITLE - NO DQ Ron Garvin vs Rick Martel w/ Brother Love This one is a barn burner from the word go! Garvin gets the edge early on and brings the fight outside the ring. Martel plays a little cat and mouse but that all ends when Brother Love sticks his nose in the business and gets ROCKED for his presence! Martel then takes over for a couple of minutes… even busting open the shot on Garvin’s head and he looks to be bleeding like a stuck pig! Garvin sees the blood and then wipes his fist in it and NAILS Martel! Martel is rocked and Garvin hits the ropes and NAILS him again! Garvin runs to the ropes but Brother Love grabs his leg… Garvin pulls on his hair… Martel comes from out of nowhere and he delivers a knee… right into Garvin’s kidneys… he screams from the pain and falls right down… Martel covers him and gets a handful of tights… 1…2….3! Rick Martel sulks out of the ring with the WCW Television Championship, Brother Love has got blood all over his white suit… Power and Glory come out to celebrate with their US tag titles… this group has established themselves as top tier thus far in WCW… and it looks like it was at the cost of Ron Garvin!

Lex Luger has exactly what he needs to be filled and he’s going to push him to every limit he’s got to get the WCW World Title back. If Sting continues to but his nose in Flair’s business…. They walk over to Luger and Nikita is quick to point out how he’s sick and stirred of seeing that title that he held with honor become a prop for people who want to be something. 18. Just as the joker said… here we go and the WWF is off and running. You’ve got all the nostalgia down… you’ve set up a great energy and environment… it clicks. Bossman is my lead candidate for 1990… he’s got momentum and challengers plus he can go in the ring. Andre and Warrior along with Demolition against the Heenan Family will surely be marquee to get the year going as well. awesome stuff!
  19. Biggest card in the history of your AWA and it delivered on all costs. I especially loved the mix of matches and all the types and titles. It was literally the mixing pot of what makes the AWA great and we've got a lot to look forward to now. The Hulkster is on top of the AWA... there's a couple of guys climbing the ladder to get him... but I have a feeling his biggest challenge hasn't shown up yet.
  20. Very good kick off for the UWF... 1990 Bill Watts is going to be an interesting character to keep an eye on. You won't get too much copyright law from WCW on WrestleWar... but know we're keeping an eye on things lol.

We get a ruling from Jim Herd on the state of the WCW and NWA Tag titles. We find out that the NWA titles are currently held by Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard. The WCW titles did change hands at Future Shock. The Road Warriors will defend the WCW tag titles tomorrow night in the Omni while Anderson and Blanchard defend the NWA tag titles against the Rockers. The United States Championship is currently vacant due to Lex Luger winning the World title. That tournament will be coming up in a matter of weeks. Our final contests see the Bob Orton and Harley Race win a tag team encounter along with Tully Blanchard getting a singles victory. He talks about working so hard for this title and it coming to fruition in front of a record crowd and a worldwide audience. Just as he gets going we see Ric Flair walk out and he’s got Ole, Arn, and Tully with him. They get right in Luger’s face but he no sells it to let them know he isn’t afraid. He has climbed the mountain and now he will take on anyone who will try to take what is rightfully his. This brings out the Great Muta and Paul E. Dangerously is on a roll tonight and he’s letting everyone have it… he says that tomorrow night in the Omni, Flair and Muta are going to put him and Stin…. Wait a moment… here comes the Stinger. The crowd gives no doubt who the top dawg is. He comes down to the ring and he sides with Luger… just then JJ Dillon steps in to let everyone know he’s been made the assistant to Jim Herd and will no longer be affiliated with the Horsemen… thus… he has the ability to make matches… and tonight he is doing so… tonight Sting and Luger need to find two partners to take on the Horsemen and Muta in an eight-man tag team main event! We see the ever exciting Owen Hart come out on top in singles action… he cuts a promo on how good Liger was but how he knows he can beat him and he’ll prove it tomorrow night in the Omni! We then see the World Tag Title match in full to close out the show… nothing special but more or less a way to promote what happened at Future Shock and what will go down tonight in the Omni! WCW Live from the Omni - December 31 Jushin Liger and Owen Hart had an awesome 20-minute contest but this time it was Owen Hart who snuck out a controversial victory with a German Suplex double pin situation. Multiple referees had a say but in the end it was Owen who walked away with the victory. Television Championship Ron Garvin vs Rick Martel was an interesting contest. This one went almost 15-minutes again… but in the end it was Martel who won via DQ when Ron Garvin destroyed him with a steel chair! Martel laid motionless while Garvin knocked out Brother Love and stood with the tv title! 23. WCW Presents: Future Shock- Greensboro, NC – Coliseum Sunday December 24 Brian Pillman, The Z-Man, & Davey Boy Smith vs Los Boricuas What a way to kick things off… we’ve got the three young guns of WCW out here to show the world what they’re all about. Then we’ve got Savio Vega and the Boricuas… needless to say we know the outcome before things get going but the Boricuas make it interesting and we get to see all the shine of Pillman, Z-Man, and especially Davey Boy. The finish is pretty nice when Davey Boy hits Castillo with a powerslam that shakes the entire ring! Pillman with the flying splash for the 3-count and that’s all she wrote. WCW opens up with some hot young stars that are putting it all on the line. WCW United States Tag Team Championship The Nasty Boys vs Power & Glory w/ Brother Love A very interesting/understated match. The Nasty Boys have this style… grunge… hardcore if you will… and the fans here in Greensboro… they like it! The fans are really behind them… or they just really hate Brother Love… which could also be the case. Either way, Power and Glory look good and we get a fun 9-minute match up. In the end, it is Roma who rolls up Knobbs with a handful of tights and we’ve got NEW US Tag Team Champions! The Power and Glory celebrate with Brother Love! Owen Hart vs Jushin Thunder Liger What a debut for Liger who comes in with a lot of hype. Owen Hart is no slouch… he does two things here… number one… he makes Liger look like a million dollars. He sells and works his style so well. The second thing that Owen does is brings some intensity in the ring. He chops the living hell out of Liger and breaks him down. Tony and Jesse do their best to try and keep up but there’s just a lot of maneuvers and even Ventura says he doesn’t quite know what to call the moves but he has never seen action like this before. Around the 13-minute mark, these two have gone absolutely all out. We see a couple of huge spots. Liger does a moonsault off the apron on Owen outside the ring. We also see a suicide dive from Owen on Liger that ignites the crowd. The finish sees Owen leap with a cross body but Liger with a dropkick right in the chest. Owen is hurt… Liger picks him up for a BRAINBUSTER and the 3-count! What a match! We get a promo from Ric Flair as he stands with Gordon Solie. They talk about tonight being about not only the past but the present and more importantly, the future. Flair says he has held the title and defeated everyone in his path and he’s beat Luger as well… tonight… it is the record player playing the same tune… Ric Flair walks in with the world title and walks out with the world title. Flair says he’s going to introduce a new tune in 1990 called undefeated… and tonight he is going to show Luger why you have to beat the man in order to be the man and pal… Ric Flair is THEE MAN! WOOO! WCW Television Championship Ron Garvin © vs Rick Martel w/ Brother Love In a hard-fought contest - these two went to a 15-minute time limit draw. Both men got in some offense and it was Garvin who really upped his game where Martel moved and counter-moved every chance he got. The finish saw Garvin knock Brother Love out with a huge right hand but it led to Martel locking in the Boston Crab… time ran out but Garvin didn’t give up. He was wiped as the bell rang… Martel thought he won but it was a draw. Martel tries to grab the title but Rugged Ron has got one more right hand in him and just knocks Martel out cold! NWA & WCW Tag Team Championship The Road Warriors vs Arn & Tully © w/ Ole Damn, there is some serious hatred out here. Hawk and Animal don’t seem to give two shits about the Horsemen here and they beat the hell out of them. This one goes about 12-minutes… back and forth… Arn and Tully are pros and leave it in the ring. They isolate Animal and wear him down to lead up to the big hot tag to Hawk who comes in like a house of fire. Chaos ensues and now Ole gets involved. The ring is mayhem… in the midst of it all… we see a situation where the referee gets bumped. He goes down. As he starts to get up… he sees Hawk toss Arn Anderson over his shoulder and over the top rope to the floor… but the referee goes back down. Animal sets up Tully and then Hawk with a huge DOOMSDAY DEVICE… here comes another referee… and the 1….2…..3! The Road Warriors have won it! They are the new tag team champions! The crowd is going wild. We get a nice promo from Lex Luger who puts over the huge bout with Ric Flair coming up in a few short hours. He says he’s bee training his entire life for this moment… he feels like this is the last opportunity to show he will be the athlete of the 90s and be the man to usher WCW into the future. He feels at his physical peak. He feels that mentally… he is stronger than he’s ever been. His endurance is second to none. Tonight is the night that the total package puts it all together and rightfully becomes the UNDISPUTED WCW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION! Sting vs Dan Spivey w/ Sherri A great showcase for both men… prime time contest. Sting has to go up against the bigger man and Spivey is able to show off his strength while Sting is ever cunning and flights back no matter what the odds. Spivey works the neck and the back of Sting and even Sherri is able to get some eye rakes in a couple of times. Sting starts to mount a comeback… the crowd is getting behind him… when he goes for the Stinger Splash in the corner… Spivey gets his boot up and just rocks his shit something awful! Spivey works the fans and he makes the end is now sign… he picks up Sting and taunts the crowd once again… he sets him for the powerbomb… hoists him up but Sting goes over his shoulders… backslide… 1…2….3! STING WON IT! Sting rolls out of the ring and the crowd explodes… Sherri is in there arguing with the referee! Sting is escorted to the back and the crowd is cheering him on… Spivey is pissed. We get a special segment in the back… Jim Herd is with JJ Dillon… Arn, Tully, and Ole… the Road Warriors come in… Jim Herd makes the announcement that the title match was under review and it has come to light that Hawk threw Arn over the top rope, which by the rules of the NWA is a disqualification. In WCW, it is legal. Therefore… Jim Herd is returning the NWA world tag team titles to Arn and Tully! The Road Warriors are the recognized WCW World Tag Team Champions. It is then announced that on December the 31st… Arn and Tully will defend the NWA World Tag Team Titles against the Rockers live from the Omni in Atlanta! International Triple Crown Tommy Rich vs The Great Muta w/ Paul E Not quite a popcorn match… but let’s just say that Muta is almost in a league of his own right now. Paul E is just ruining the experience of the fans at ringside. Jesse Ventura is putting Muta over as the next WCW world champion. He says he’s the rightful number one contender. Tommy Rich gets a lil wildfire under his ass and makes a nice run at it but then Muta hits a spinning heel kick. We get the flipping back elbow in the corner. The running shining wizard! Muta then finishes him off with the Moonsault and the 3-count! He holds up the International Triple Crown title… could he be in line for the world title? One last big pump up… Scott Hall is by Jesse Ventura… Ventura introduces him as the Diamond Sudd… Scott Hall. Ventura says that Hall is sharp as a razor and mean as a rattlesnake. He’s 6’5” and 275 pounds of twisted steel and sex appeal. He is going to take the WCW by storm… or by force… whichever he wants… he will make his debut in the Omni next week! It is time for the World Title matchup… let’s head to the ring. We get grand entrances from both men… Luger walks out and he has got Sting next to him… the crowd is going wild. Flair comes out with JJ Dillon and the Horsemen behind him. Right away… the referee is quick to dismiss Arn, Ole, and Tully… they are putting up a fight but here come the Road Warriors and then the Rockers behind them… they escort the Horsemen out of the arena… we then go to Mike McGuirk… Mike: Ladies and gentlemen, it is time for our main event of the evening and it is for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship! Introducing first, the challenger, he stands 6’5” and weighs in tonight at 285 pounds… from Chicago, Illinois… the reigning United States Champion… the Total Package… Lex Luger! His opponent… the champion… he stands 6’1” and weights in tonight at 245 pounds… he hails from Charlotte, North Carolina… he is the reigning and defending WCW World Heavyweight Champion… The Nature Boy… Ric Flair! WCW World Championship Lex Luger vs Ric Flair © w/ JJ Dillon This is the moment fans have been waiting for… perhaps… we do have some loud Sting chants… Luger doesn’t seem phased… here we go. These guys know each other quite well and they work their match and the fans into a slow build. Luger gets the advantage early… chases Flair around… Flair comes face to face with Sting and the crowd explodes! Sting backs him off and Luger grabs Flair and they get back in the ring to keep up the work. Flair then turns the tide with a clip the knee and then he takes control. This one goes around 21-minutes… we get a nice hope spot from Luger but Flair gets back in charge… we then get into the finishing minutes… Flair is looking to finish off Luger but the Total Package fights back… but then we see Dan Spivey come down and he attacks Sting. Sting has to brawl with him… they go into the crowd… here come the Horsemen again but this time they come through the fans… they try to get involved but the Road Warriors and Rockers come down again and they are brawling outside the ring! Flair locks in the figure four inside the ring…. The chaos outside the ring clears up… Luger is able to get out of the figure four and he seems impervious to pain! Flair with some kicks and chops but Luger isn’t giving an inch. He flexes and yells and Flair backs down. We see two big back drops and then the powerslam! Luger picks him up and makes the sign for the rack but once he’s up the knee buckles… Flair goes for broke and continues to work the knee and then he signals for the Figure Four and he goes to lock it in but Luger with the roll through and the 1…2…..3!!!!!
