  1. Thank you. I have found better direction with my roster since I've announced the supercard. I feel my TVs are getting a little better each time out, not leaps and bounds, but a little bit here and there.
  2. First Battle of Atlanta, and the first USWA Live National TV Special. I've been looking forward to see how this plays out. It's nice to see Bam Bam Bigelow's early rise to fame. A couple of wins now, showing off the big man's potential. I like this. Interesting to see a relatively clean finish with the Fabulous Ones losing to the Sheepherders. It makes sense, I would have done the same thing I believe. I like that the heels are strong going into the main event and the finals of the World Tag Team Title tournament. House of Humperdink getting DQ'd so close to the finals!?! Well, getting to lay out Lawler and Rich is enough of a prize for the villains here. Gives the faces sympathy going into the main event. Great stuff. A really fun brawl in the Boot Camp Match. Memphis bloody brawling, just what I expect. Shogunate getting the win AND tons of heat post-match will make the upcoming TVs even more compelling in my eyes. Speaking of Memphis brawling...Reed vs Ladd, doesn't even start. Just a brawl in the aisle until officials break them apart. What's next for these two?! This was one match I was totally looking to forward to. Who will lose their belt? And how would it happen? I am very surprised Piper did the pinfall loss on National TV. Doesn't sound like a Piper thing, but where he goes from here will tell that story. Atlas better make damn sure he uses that to elevate his career to super-stardom. Piper doesn't just lose like that to just anyone. And where does that Southern Heavyweight Title go from here? I like Idol as the champion here. He takes an ass kicking, shows he's a tough competitor lasting throughout the beating. The false title change sequence was a good touch. The crowd pops thinking its a title change. Then Brody chases Riddle away, they announce the DQ finish and Idol retains, good heat. Finals. Blood and hot action. New champs, the crowd goes home happy and the TV audience sees a celebrations with some of USWA's top stars congratulating the new champions. Really fun show. I enjoyed the entire thing. I don't usually comment on the majority of shows, because I like to see where things go. So I just keep my thoughts simple, but this was a big show and I thought I should give comments on most of the angles going. Great action, Leaves some open possibilities going towards the future. Really well done.

  4. Thursday, March 15, 1984 TV Taping (Shown on syndication Saturday, March 17, 1984) Spartanburg, SC Memorial Auditorium Tony Schiavone: Welcome fans to Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling! We have brand new NWA World Six-Man Tag Team Champions! David Crockett is here with me to tell you all about it fans! David Crockett: Last Saturday evening, in Raleigh, Mid Atlantic crowned brand new World Six-Man Tag Team Champions in an 8-team one-night tournament. The Fabulous Freebirds were the last team standing after a grueling night of action! Here are some clips! CLIPS: We see Terry Gordy dropping Poffo with a powerslam, Hayes lands the Bulldog on Poffo for the win. We see the huge brawl that ends in a countout with Junkyard Dog, Sivi Afi and Sweet Daddy Siki against The Strongbow’s and Kamala. A clip of Houston and Hiro Saito battling it out. We see The headbutt’s from the Grappler’s on Pedro. We see the Windham’s and Houston celebrating after their win against The Grappler’s and Rogers. The last clip is the Freebirds walking away with the title belts and the Windham’s and Houston in the ring upset about the loss. David: We will have more on the tournament throughout todays show! Tony: What an evening of action! We were both there live, and it was an exciting show. Congratulations to our new champions, The Fabulous Freebirds! The Freebirds walk out from the entrance to the TV set with their title belts. Michael: What a night it was Tony! We came in and rock and rolled and took the titles that were made just for us! We are the best three wrestlers ANYWHERE! Buddy: That’s right, there isn’t a better team anywhere. Tony: Well, that is true right now. However, The Windham’s and Sam Houston will get there chance for a rematch coming up on March 31 at Coastal Clash! Michael: Woah! Tony, where do you get your information from? That isn’t going to happen. Tony: What do you mean? We got word from the NWA officials earlier today. Terry: Haha! Barry Windham can’t wrestle in the match! He’s already scheduled to defend MY TV title against Stan Hansen. Michael: That’s right. He can’t compete in two different title matches on the same show! So, if they want to go three on two, that's fine with us! But if they couldn’t beat us with three of them, how are they going to defeat us with just two of them?! HAHAHAHA! Tony: Well, I didn't hear that! We will have to get this confirmed fans! Michael: You do that, idiot! We are the champions, and we will always be the champs! Buddy: FOREVER! Tony: We will be right back! COMMERCIAL BREAK David: Well we are back and fans we have controversy already this week! The Freebirds have somehow convinced the NWA Board of Directors that Barry Windham cannot compete in TWO title matches on Coastal Clash! So he has to choose, keep the TV Title and forfeit the opportunity to win the Six-Man Tag Team Titles with his Brother and friend. Or he can forfeit the TV title match, and compete for the Six-Man Tag Titles! What a choice that will be! Tony: That isn’t fair if you ask me! It’s should be Barry’s decision if he wants to wrestle twice in one night! They did it for the tournament. David: I agree with that point. However, I do see where the directors are coming from. Barry has to be focused on one title. He can’t split that focus. Tony: We will hear from them later in the hour. Up next, our first match! Tag Team Match, One-Fall, 10-Minute TV Time Limit Pat Patterson & Ray Stevens vs Italian Stallion & Terry Gibbs Easy match for the number one contenders to the US tag team titles. They put this one away easily with a leaping knee smash from Patterson onto Gibbs for the pin. Time: 4:46 Decision: Pat Patterson & Ray Stevens David: Please welcome Terry Taylor! Terry: Thank you, David. David: In just a few weeks, you battle Randy Savage for the United States Championship, with lumberjack’s surrounding the ring. Terry: I’m very excited. I finally get a rematch for the US title. And this time, Randy won’t be running away. We can settle things inside the ring. One on one. David: Are you worried that Savage’s “friends” may get involved to help him out?! Terry: I’m not worried, I have friends myself. They will have my back, just as I would have theirs. This battle will be one one one and we will see who the US champion is after the 3-count. David: That’s coming up on March 31 in Charlotte! Get to your local arena for tickets to this live closed circuit event coming to you live as it happens all across the Mid Atlantic region! COMMERCIAL BREAK Tag Team Match, One-Fall, 10-Minute TV Time Limit Tony DeVito & Frank Williams vs The Strongbow’s (w/ Skandor Akbar & Kamala) The Strongbow’s come in showing their new found aggression, learned from their new manager Akbar. They just beat up the two opponent’s and finishing them off with duel sleeper holds. After the match, Kamala is brought into the ring by Akbar to squash both of them with big splashes. Time: 4:13 Decision: The Strongbow’s David: Akbar and his men will be coming this way to discuss what happened last weekend during the six-man tag team tournament. Akbar, why did you sick that headhunter Kamala on those two defenseless opponent’s!? The match was over, there was no need for that! Akbar: Shut up, you disgusting idiot! I told you, I’m here to destroy all that you love. My men are here for the gold, the money, the power! We will stop at NOTHING to get what we want. JYD, and his stupid little followers, they cost us that gold. They cost us that power! They knew they couldn’t defeat us, so they held my men outside the ring for that stupid referee to count to ten! That’s the first time that zebra ever got that high! Don’t you worry, we’ve put out there the open contract. A Street Fight, come as you are, falls count anywhere in Charlotte. We want to end you dumb animals once and for all. David: What a challenge! That will be a fight for sure! We’ll be right back! Akbar leads his men to the locker room. Tony: Can you believe that David? That will be a huge brawl. David: Well that isn’t all, joining us now, Kendall Windham, Sam Houston and the TV Champion, Barry Windham! Tony: Gentlemen, welcome. What response do you have for the comments from the Freebirds earlier in today’s show? Barry: Well, they are running scared. They know that we almost had them beat. They know if we were 100%, we would beat them. So they don’t want to face us again. They went to the Board and complained the moment they walked back through the curtains in Raleigh to get out of our return match. Tony: So what happens now? Barry: Well, they think they have outsmarted us. Unfortunately for them, the Board of Directors gave us one other option. I will not be able to compete for the six-man tag team titles at Coastal Clash. However, my boys here will not be fighting three on two. They will have a partner, and we will introduce who that is next week when they wrestle in the main event in a six man tag team match! Tony: Any hints? Barry: Why would I want to spoil the fun Tony?! Tony: ha ha! Well, there they go, headed to the ring as Barry is defending the TV title right here today! Up next, Barry Windham vs Rip Rogers for the TV Title! NWA Television Title Match, One-Fall, 10-Minute TV Time Limit Challenger, Rip Rogers vs Champion, Barry Windham Barry goes right after the challenger, and starts off with a hot streak of offense. Rogers cheats with an eye rack to take the advantage away. He works over Barry’s back for a few moments. A backbreaker almost gets a three count. Barry battles back, punches and a huge leaping lariat for a two count. Barry picks up Rip and leaves him on top rope, the champion climbs the second rope, and gives a superplex to Rip Rogers for the win. Time: 7:28 Decision: Still TV Champion, Barry Windham COMMERCIAL BREAK David: The NWA World Heavyweight Champion, “Nature Boy” Ric Flair! Ric: Whoooo!!! David Crockett! The World Champion is here! Whoo!!! David: Coming up next, champ, is your challenger on March 31, Ricky Steamboat. Ric: The next of a long list of challenger’s who have been defeated by “Nature Boy”! Woooo!!! I respect his ability. He’s a tough wrestler, David. He can go 60-minutes. I’ve seen him wrestle. I’ve been on the other side of that ring. He is a great athlete. But no one, not one, that can last longer than the champ! Not one wrestler can workout as long as me, can out wrestle me. I am the best, and on March 31, Steamboat will fail in his quest to be the best. David: Ric, are you staying with us to watch Ricky wrestle? Flair: Woooo!!!!! Single’s Match, One-Fall, 10-Minute Time Limit Ricky Steamboat vs Jason Knight Ricky shows off those beautiful arms drags. He works over the arm for the opening minutes. Eventually he climbs up the ropes and leaps, landing a cross body block for the win. Time: 6:17 Decision: Ricky Steamboat David: What a win by the challenger! Ric, he is ready! Ric: I know he is. He is a premier athlete here in Mid Atlantic. Too bad he isn’t the best. Too bad he isn’t on the level of the champ. David: March 31, get to your local closed circuit arena and watch these two battle it out for the NWA World’s Heavyweight Championship! Ric: Whoooo!!!!!! Woo! Woo!! Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!! Dark Matches after the taping: The Moondogs defended the US Tag Titles against The Grappler’s JYD and Kamala battled to a double DQ. Fuji’s Clan defeated Lanny Poffo, Pedro Morales, Blue Demon Jr. & Pierroth Jr Randy Savage defeated Sweet Daddy Siki to retain the US title Ricky Steamboat, Kendall Windham & Sam Houston defeated The Fabulous Freebirds Ric Flair defended the NWA World Heavyweight Championship against Barry Windham after interference from the Freebirds. Freebirds attack Barry. Sam Houston, Kendall Windham and Ricky Steamboat run out for the save, clearing out the Freebirds and Flair from the ring to end the show.
  5. Welcome to the 15th Annual Survivor Series (2001) with WWF vs The Alliance (WCW & ECW) Team Captain, Lance Storm, Justin Credible, Raven, Hurricane & Billy Kidman vs Team Captain, Bradshaw, Faarooq, Crash Holly, Saturn & Spike Dudley The Impact Players reunite here with Raven, Hurricane and Billy Kidman to face off with The Acolytes and their partners Crash, Saturn and Spike Dudley. The APA will take the win here. No one's getting pushed better than them at this point. Team Captain, Trish Stratus, Lita, Jackie & Torrie Wilson vs Team Captain, Molly Holly, Jazz, Ivory & Stacy Keibler The Women have their time to shine here. Just so the WWF gets too many wins early...we have the Alliance girls go over. We'll say Jazz wins here, giving her the rub for the later crowning of the woman's champion (which in real time happened here...but we'll do it tomorrow on RAW here). Team Captain, Edge, Jeff Hardy, Matt Hardy, Tajiri & Tazz vs Team Captain, Christian, Bubba Dudley, D-Von Dudley, Test & William Regal The upper mid-card, IC/US title division is on show here, along with the top of the tag team division. Edge captains the WWF team, with the Hardys, Tajiri and newly turned Tazz against the Alliance's team, captained by Christian, The Dudleys, Test and Wiliam Regal. So many little things are tied into this battle. The Edge/Christian rivalry. Hardys/Dudleys Tag Team Title battle, Regal/Tajiri and Tazz/Test can be an extension of the heat the Alliance would have for Tazz turning on them right before this PPV. This would come down to Edge vs Test (to setup the future IC champ vs US champ angle) and Edge would go over. Team Captain, The Rock, Undertaker, Kane, Kurt Angle & Vince McMahon vs Team Captain, Steve Austin, Chris Jericho, Booker T, Rob Van Dam & Shane McMahon As we all know, the booking of the invasion angle went to hell from day one. If I was booking this from day one, this wouldn't be the teams I'd have, or even the sides they would be on. But keeping with the angles on TV, I would probably do these two teams. Big Show is out, Vince is in. This would be Shane's demand. I swapped Jericho for Angle. Kurt fought the Alliance all summer, then just randomly turns? That didn't make much sense. But Jericho turning against WWF and Rock to join the Alliance after his exchanges with Stephanie makes the turn mean more. Sure, he's teaming with Stephanie McMahon, a hated rival, but he hates Rock more. He could say he respects Shane more than Vince. He hated WCW, but now that it's a Shane McMahon product, he can respect it again. He'll put his differences aside to take down Rock. I would also change the stipulation of the match, instead of the losing company goes away, I would have it that if WCW/ECW loses, Shane and Stephanie sell WCW back to Vince like he wanted back in March. He could "close" the company then if he wanted, BUT if WCW/ECW wins, they earn 50% of WWF's TV Programming (which would end up being Smackdown, One of the weekend Spike shows and one of the syndicated shows). as their own. So we'd get back THUNDER, or it would just be WCW's Smackdown! Then I would have WCW win the main event, and start the brand split right here. No other interactions. WWF on Monday's, WCW on Thursdays. They can have inter-promotional matches at the Main attraction PPVs, but otherwise keep them separate. Let's put Austin over Rock with a Stunner, (or multiple Stunners).
  6. Can I just add in my jobber packs? They are not listed in the main post. Dusty Wolfe Frank Williams Italian Stallion Jason Knight Terry Gibbs Tony DeVito

  9. Mid Atlantic News and Notes Earlier, NWA and Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling crowned new World 6-Man Tag Team Champions. There is talk that the rematch, scheduled for Coastal Clash, could have an interesting turn. Barry Windham is already scheduled to defend his TV Title that same night. Freebirds are already demanding the rematch be voided so they don't have to wrestle the Windham's and Houston again. We'll see how this develops on TV next week. A rumor going around the Mid Atlantic office is that there maybe a second, one-hour TV show added to syndication. Nothing has been finalized as of yet. Word is the TV's having been doing well and fans have been writing in to see more. With the limited one-hour slot, a second show could get over more of the talent each week, as the regular roster is 30+ and each week only 8-10 guys get on the show. Formats and touring schedule is being looked at to see if this added show would be worth the added cost. MACW will be heavily used in the upcoming Paul Boesch $200,000 Tag Team Tournament in Houston April 6th & 7th. Six teams and a Ricky Steamboat vs Ric Flair match already signed for that weekend. The Crockett's are extremely happy with this weekend. It will be a return to action for many of their stars as there is a small break in action after Coastal Clash. With all of the cost involved in putting together a live Closed Circuit event all across the territory, they gave the boys a little over a week off. With this Tag Team Grand Prix, it gives some of their big names a chance to get their name out there in another market and continue to build relationships with other promoters all across the United States. MACW may run a few high school shows that weekend with the remaining talent, but nothing has been decided this week. There is also talk of sending all the Mid Atlantic crew to Houston, just in case some of them are needed, so one of those two plans will be finalized for the workers this week. We here there maybe a small change in the roster coming up. The Mexican team of Pierroth Jr and Blue Demon Jr. may return to Mexico for a while, and MACW will be looking for two new talents to come in and take their place. No names have been rumored as of yet. Paul Jones is on the roster, but has been helping with locker room details in recent weeks. We've heard he will be debuting on TV soon, possibly at the Coastal Clash event. No word on who he is managing yet. That is all the news fit to print for this week. Thanks for reading.
  10. Saturday, March 10, 1984 Raleigh, NC Dorton Arena Opening Round Six-Man Tag Team Match, One-Fall, 20-Minute Time Limit Pierroth Jr, Blue Demon Jr. & Lanny Poffo vs The Fabulous Freebirds The Freebirds attack early and never relent. They lose the momentum late in the match for a minute, but after an eye poke from Hayes, he levels Poffo with a running bulldog for the pin. Time: 9:22 Decision: The Fabulous Freebirds Opening Round Six-Man Tag Team Match, One-Fall, 20-Minute Time Limit Junkyard Dog, Sivi Afi & Sweet Daddy Siki vs The Strongbow’s & Kamala (w/ Skandor Akbar) This is just a brawl from the opening bell. Both teams go back and forth, and many times during the match, all six men are in the ring battling. When the battle makes it to the floor, they get counted out. They continue to brawl, now using weapons, and the arena to do battle. Moments later, all the men are bleeding. The referee’s and officials enter the ringside area to break up the brawl. Time: 11:00 Decision: Double Countout Opening Round Six-Man Tag Team Match, One-Fall, 20-Minute Time Limit Barry & Kendall Windham & Sam Houston vs Fuji’s Clan (w/ Mr. Fuji) Fuji interferes before the match actually begins, getting him men the advantage to start, but it doesn’t last long. When Kendall makes the tag, it becomes a pier-six brawl. Sam Houston leaps over Tiger Chung Lee with a sunset flip, Lee tries to stop him, Barry leaps forward with lariat to knock Lee over into the cradle from Houston for the win. Time: 7:48 Decision: The Windham’s & Sam Houston Opening Round Six-Man Tag Team Match, One-Fall, 20-Minute Time Limit Mad Dog & Butcher Vachon & Pedro Morales vs The Grappler’s & Rip Rogers Good back and forth action in this one. It comes down to the Grappler’s switching places when the referee was distracted and the illegal man putting something in his mask to hit a head butt on Pedro to get the win. Time: 10:19 Decision: The Grappler’s & Rip Rogers Non-Title Match, One-Fall, Special 30-Minute Time Limit Ricky Steamboat vs US Champion Randy “Macho Man” Savage (w/ Miss Elizabeth) This match goes to the time limit draw. They battle back and forth. A real wrestling match. Very well received. Started off with some stalling early by the champion, but once they got going, it was non-stop action until the time limit ran out. Time: 30:00 Decision: Time Limit Draw The Fabulous Freebirds get a bye into the finals due to the double count-out. Semi-Final Six-Man Tag Team Match, One-Fall, 30-Minute Time Limit Barry & Kendall Windham & Sam Houston vs The Grappler’s & Rip Rogers Windham’s and Houston had something to prove here, they come in a house of fire and don’t let up on their opponent’s at all. Finish sees Barry use a second-rope Superplex onto Rip Rogers for the pinfall. Time: 7:57 Decision: The Windham’s & Sam Houston Non-Title Match, One-Fall, Special 30-Minute Time Limit Terry Taylor vs NWA World Champion, Ric Flair This match is a great technical match between the two. We get into the 25-Minute mark and as Terry Taylor starts to build a comeback on the World Champion, Randy Savage returns to the ring and attacks Taylor causing a DQ. Both champions beat down on the young man until Ricky Steamboat makes the save, sending the champions back to the locker room. Time: 26:17 Decision: Terry Taylor, via DQ Final Round, Main Event NWA World Six-Man Tag Team Championship, One-Fall, 60-Minute Time Limit Barry & Kendall Windham & Sam Houston vs The Fabulous Freebirds These two teams know each other very well. They have battled all over the Mid Atlantic region in the last two months, and they battle just as hard tonight for the right to be called the first-ever NWA World Six-Man Tag Team Champions. The two teams go back and forth all throughout the match. Some wrestling, some brawling. For the most part, referee Tommy Young keeps the action in the ring and under control. Around the 30-minute mark, the Windham’s are battling inside the ring with Gordy and Roberts, it's turned into an all out brawl at this point. Hayes is on the floor with Houston. He is able to push Houston off of him and send him crashing into the ring post. Gordy tosses Kendall to the other side of the ring, and Hayes rushes over to clobber Kendall. Gordy slides out of the ring as well. As Tommy Young is busy trying to get Barry and Buddy out of the ring, Gordy and Hayes post Kendall causing him to bleed heavily. They slide him into the ring. Gordy follows him back. Gordy hits a nasty clothesline to Bary sending him to the floor. Gordy picks up a bloody KEndall and drops him on his head with a vicious piledriver to earn the victory and the championships. Time: 33:59 Decision: New NWA World 6-Man Tag Team Champions, The Fabulous Freebirds
  11. Tag team wrestling is shining through here. Fun six-man tag team match and then some quarter final matches mixed in as well. I continue to love the Piper Pit's segments, giving Piper something more unique than any other persona in the business right now with this interview segment. The live special from the Omni is shaping up. Should be a fun night of wrestling coming up.
  12. Thanks Kevin. I am changing up my TV a little bit, now that I have a focus with the supercard, it's helping me make my TV more important for that. Also, trying to keep my local big shows important, i.e. the Raleigh show tomorrow for the Six-Man tag titles. The house show reports will be just results, at least for this month, as I continue to evolve on that process. I appreciate all the feedback, it really helps!
  13. Friday, March 9, 1984 Norfolk, VA The Scope Lanny Poffo defeated Tiger Chung Lee (w/ Mr. Fuji) The Grappler’s defeated Blue Demon Jr & Pierroth Jr. Hiro Saito & Toru Tanaka (w/ Mr. Fuji) defeated Salvatore Bellomo and Pez Whatley Sam Houston defeated Rip Rogers Terry Taylor defeated Mr. Fuji Junkyard Dog & Sivi Afi defeated The Strongbow’s (w/ Skandor Akbar) via DQ after Akbar interfered. You want this title back, but you know, you know that deep down in your soul, you can never defeat the “Macho Man!” You hope that by having some of your friends around the ring, that they can help you, but they can't! The Madness has friends too! Oh yeaah! Terry Taylor approaches the set. Randy: You want some of the “Macho Man” right now?! Terry Taylor: I don't want some, I want it all, Savage! What are your thoughts on the United States Tag Team Champions? Ray Stevens: Those losers? Yeah, they can beat some lowlife scums. But do they really think they have a chance against us? Pat Patterson: We are the best tag team in wrestling. No one has our credental. No other tag team in wrestling has our experience, has our knowledge. It is just a matter of time before we are champion! Ray: Time is ticking on those Moondogs. We will get our title match and we will walk away with that gold. That day is March 31. That place is Coastal Clash in Charlotte. Moondogs, your days are numbered. Tony: We will be right back after this break! COMMERCIAL BREAK David: Welcome to the set, the number one challenger to the NWA World Heavyweight Championship, Ricky Steamboat! Ricky: Thank you David, it’s a pleasure to be here. David: In just a few weeks, Ricky, you challenge for the World Title in the biggest match of your career. It will be shown all over the Mid Atlantic region on Closed Circuit TV! And you know that news of this event will travel all around the world. Are you nervous at all? Ricky: You know David, I am. It is a major deal in my career. Chances like this don’t come along very often, if at all. I am focused, and ready for the challenge. I’ve been in the ring with Ric Flair many times, I know what he is all about. This will be the biggest challenge of my career. David: I understand that you will be doing commentary with us on this next contest, featuring the World Champion. Ricky: That is correct, I have come here to study my opponent a little more. What better way to see the champion then calling the action with you and Tony. David: Let’s not wait any longer, and take it to the ring. Non-Title Single’s Match, One-Fall, 10-Minute TV Time Limit NWA World Champion, Ric Flair vs Terry Gibbs The Champ does his thing, strutting around the ring. Woooing to the crowd. As the action begins, he settles into his pace of a match, and within just a few minutes, makes Gibbs submit to the figure-four leglock. Time: 5:22 Decision: Ric Flair David: What an impressive win by the World Champion! Ricky: I would agree, David. Flair isn’t the champion by accident. He may be arrogant but he is on top of his game. That figure-four leglock is devastating. Ric Flair struts onto the set with the three. Flair: Whoooo!!!!! How’d you like that, Steamboat?! Wooo!!! You’ve seen first hand what the champ can do. I wouldn’t blame you, if you just wanted to back out of the match right now. Have you come to your senses? Steamboat: Flair, you know me better than that! You won your match, convincingly, just as a World Champion would do. However, that just makes me want to work hard, work longer to get you into that ring and defeat you for that World Heavyweight Championship! Flair: Keeping dreamin’ Pal! Whoooo!!! Flair struts off the set. Steamboat: His cockiness will be his downfall, David. I will be the newly crowned World Champion in Charlotte. David: Thank you Ricky for joining us out here today! 17. The 14th Annual (2000) Survivor Series, let's see what an ALL Survivor Series, Survivor Series would be like! Team Captain: Jerry Lawler, Steve Blackman, Hardcore Holly & Crash Holly vs Team Captain: Steven Richards, Val Venis, The Goodfather & Bull Buchanon Jerry Lawler is sick of the RTC. Steven Richards picks a fight with the King, and challenges him to find partners to meet here in a Survivor Series encounter. Lawler finds help in Steve Blackman and The Holly Cousins, all of which are always up for a fight. Lawler pins Richards, but RTC's Val Venis is the sole survivor to keep their heat going a little while longer. Team Captain: Jeff Hardy, Matt Hardy, D-Von Dudley & Bubba Ray Dudley vs Team Captain: Edge, Christian, D-Lo Brown & Chaz What a difference a year makes. Last year, we had an eight-team Survivor Match, this year, we're down to 4 teams. This is a regular Survivor match. Let's have Jeff Hardy and D-Von be the survivors. Team Captain: Chyna, Billy Gunn, Scotty 2 Hotty & Grand Master Sexay vs Team Captain: Eddie Guerrero, Chris Benoit, Dean Malenko & Perry Saturn The Chyna and Eddie story ends here. The Radicalz win, Eddie and Benoit reign supreme. Team Captain: Steve Austin, Undertaker, The Rock & Chris Jericho vs Team Captain: Triple H, Kurt Angle, Rikishi & Kane The hot angle being pushed was Austin vs HHH, side story with Rock vs Rikishi. Undertaker vs Angle was the title feud here and Jericho and Kane couldn't get along. So many stories and moving parts in this main event. Rock takes care of Rikishi first. Kane chokelams Jericho to the locker room. 'Taker can Tombstone Kane out of the match. Angle will sneak up and pull a fast one on Undertaker to get rid of him. But Angle then runs away from the Deadman, leaving his team and eliminating himself. Rikishi returns and uses the sledgehammer to beat on The Rock, and gets a decent shot against Austin. Rock is pinned by HHH. Comes down to Austin vs HHH, Hunter tries to capitalize on the Rikishi interference. Rock is helped to the back. Austin and HHH battle back and forth. A quick Stunner ends the match and gets the win for Austin, but they continue the fight after the bell. HHH knocks Austin out with the sledgehammer to end the show.

Time: 8:39 Decision: Pierroth Jr., Blue Demon Jr. & Lanny Poffo Tag Team Match, One-Fall, 15-Minute Time Limit Pez Whatley & Pedro Morales vs Ray Stevens & Pat Patterson The vet team of Patterson & Stevens control most of the match and win convincingly. Time: 9:38 Decision: Ray Stevens and Pat Patterson INTERMISSION Six-Man Tag Team Match, One-Fall, 30-Minute Time Limit Junkyard Dog, Sivi Afi & Sweet Daddy Siki vs Kamala, Jay & Jules Strongbow (w/ Skandor Akbar) Brawl from beginning to end. The referee finally just quits trying to keep control and calls for the bell. This ends in a double DQ, but all six just brawl all around ringside. A number of officials run in and try to stop the chaos, but it just boils over. These six brawl to the locker room. Time: 9:15 Decision: Double Disqualification Single's Match, One-Fall, 15-Minute Time Limit Sam Houston vs Mr. Fuji Fuji uses his cheap tricks early to get an advantage, but it ends up backfiring on him in the end and Houston gives him the bulldog to win the match. Time: 10:21 Decision: Sam Houston NWA World Tag Team Championship Match, One-Fall, 60-Minute Time Limit Challengers, The Moondogs vs Champions, The Guerrero's The US Tag Titles are not on the line in this match. The match is a back and forth. Some brawling, some technical work by the champions. The finish sees the Guerrero's get the win after the match breaks down into a four-way brawl. Spot gets knocked to the floor, Chavo leaps with a dropkick, sending Rex back into Mando, who traps him with a German Suplex for the win. Time: 22:43 Decision: Still the NWA World Tag Team Champions, The Guerrero's Tag Team Match, One-Fall, Special 45-Minute Time Limit Ricky Steamboat & Barry Windham vs World Champion, Ric Flair & US Champion, Randy Savage (w/ Miss Elizabeth) Classic wrestling match. These four men battle it out in a great tag team encounter. The fans are thrilled with seeing the champions on their toes, backing off at one point. Time: 45:00 Decision: Time Limit Draw
  20. The 13th Annual (1999) Survivor Series, Re-booked! Team Captain, Godfather & D-Lo Brown, Headbanger, Hardy Boyz & Edge & Christian vs Team Captain, Dudley Boyz, Acolytes, Too Cool & Holly Cousins The tag team elimination match joins us in the rebooking! I won't get into the complete booking of this match, just to say that i like Godfather and D-lo being the survivors here. Team Captain, Tori, Debra, Miss Kitty, BB & Fabulous Moolah vs Team Captain, Ivory, Miss Jackie, Terri, Luna & Mae Young Basically the same match in real-time, just an added member on each team. I'll give this to Ivory, as she's probably the most pushed of these girls around the Women's Title. Team Captain, The Big Show, Val Venis, Mark Henry, Steve Blackman & Gangrel vs Team Captain, Big Boss Man, Prince Albert, British Bulldog, Mideon and Viscera Boss Man's team takes out Show's partners. Big Show enters and cleans house. Boss man runs away, Big Show wins, then chases Boss man to the locker room. Team Captain, The Rock, Kane (replacing Steve Austin), Mankind, Al Snow & Chris Jericho vs Team Captain, Triple H, X-Pac, Road Dogg, Billy Gunn & Chyna What?! DX as a ten-man tag team?! Well considering the angle's going on right now, this makes sense to me. Chyna wants to take out Jericho, HHH convinces her to rejoin DX to get him. The rest of the team is everyone feuding with DX at the time. Kane is brought in to replace Austin when it's decided he's gotta have the surgery. We would have just had Kane do a run-in on X-Pac, but with the Austin injury, he makes sense to be the fifth man here. Chyna/Jericho eliminate each other. NAO gets rid of Al Snow, Mankind drops Gunn. Mankind gets counted out when the Outlaws double-team Al Snow on the outside. Kane drops Road Dogg, HHH and X-Pac get rid of Kane. Kane stalks X-Pac so he's counted out and HHH gets a Rock Bottom and bows out to Rock to end the show with Rock on top.

This championship will be decided in a one-night tournament, Saturday, March 10th in Raleigh, North Carolina at the Dorton Arena! Tony: That championship is the NWA World Six-Man Tag Team Championship. With so many tag teams here in MACW, and super groups like The Fabulous Freebirds as well, the Board decided to give the fans what they want! So with the recent demise of the Mid Atlantic Heavyweight Championship, the board has granted us this chance to crown new champions in a brand new division. David: It is exciting news! We will have the brackets and team announcements throughout today's show! Right now, let's take it up to the ring. Six-Man Tag Team Match, One-Fall, 10-Minute TV Time Limit Toru Tanaka, Tiger Chung Lee & Hiro Saito (w/ Mr. Fuji) vs Dusty Wolfe, Frank Williams & Tony Devito Fuji's clan makes quick work of their opponent's this week. Fuji: Ah, Tony-San, we are always ready to fight, main, cripple and destroy all our opponent's. You made big announcement earlier. Let me be the first to announce my Clan as the first entrant's into that championship tournament. Tony: We were just about to make that announcement. Fuji: Tony-San, let Master Fuji tell the world. We are the only team they need to know. I've already told the world who the winner's will be, and you are all looking at them right now. (Fuji laughs deviously as they walk off the set and return to the locker room as we go to break.) COMMERCIAL BREAK Tony: Earlier in today's show, we told you about the crowning of Six-Man Tag Team Champions next weekend in Raleigh. Right now, we have the announcement of all eight teams that will be included in this one night tournament. David: That is right, Tony. Right now, we will give you four of those teams, and at the end of the show we will have the other four teams. Tony: Let's not wait any longer, David, who is team number one? David: Team number three is Mad Dog and Butcher Vachon along with Pedro Morales! Tony: Rounding out the first four teams is the team of Pierroth Jr, Blue Demon Jr and their partner, Lanny Poffo! (Out walks the United States Champion, Randy Savage, along with his new manager, Miss Elizabeth) Tony: Randy Savage, your interview isn't scheduled just yet. What brings you out here? Randy: “Macho Man” Randy Savage doesn't work on your time, does he Tony?! Your United States Champion has many many things to do, ohhh yeah!!! and waiting for you to be ready to hear my magical tones isn't worth my time. The Champ is ready now, so let's get to it. Tony: Well, OK. We found out this morning that at Coastal Clash, you will defend your United States Championship against former champion, Terry Taylor….in a lumberjack match! Randy: Do you think the “Macho Man” scares that easily, Tony?! Hmmm, I knew about the title match. My manager, the greatest manager of all-time, told me about this championship match. I let her sign it. Ohhh yeaaaa. I did. I don't run from any challenge, do you hear me, Tony? How about you Terry Taylor, do you hear me?! I don't run from anyone! I'm the Champ! I'm the “Macho Man!” Dig it?! Tony: Well, it has been said that you spend an awful lot of time on the floor during your matches, and on March 31, you will not be able to do that! Randy: Oh Yeah?! Is that what you think?! I spend all my time of the floor, next to these stupid fans?! I am the greatest wrestler on the planet earth, I fear no one! I rum from no one! It's all part of my master plan, the plan of the madness! Terry Taylor, you think you got me where you want me?! You're wrong! I'm the champ! I will defeat you! Oh, and part of my master plan is this….the greatest manager EVER! She put in our own stipulation. Terry Taylor, you can have your lumberjack match, but when I defeat you, and you know the “Macho Man” will, you will NEVER challenge the champ again! Ohhhhh yeaaa!!!!! Tony: What?! That's in the contract as well?! (Randy dosen't respond, just grabs Elizabeth and struts off the set with his title belt.) That's a big shocker fans! We'll be right back! COMMERICAL BREAK Single's Match, One-Fall, 10-Minute TV Time Limit Kamala (w/ Skandor Akbar) vs Tony Devito SQUASH! Big splash. Thank you very much. Time: 2:21 Decision: Kamala David: Welcome to our set, Skandor Akbar and his charge, Kamala! Akbar: Have you ever seen such domination?! My headhunter can not be defeated! He can't even be taken off his feet! David: He has been extremely dominant since coming to Mid Atlantic, that is correct! Akbar: I told you, I was going to take over. Kamala is just the first part of my plan. No one wants to challenge my headhunter. He will continue to destroy week after week. This area will fall to my feet! You will all beg me for mercy when I have all the power! All of the control! David: You are a sick man, Akbar! Akbar: You will be the first to beg, David. Akbar calls for Kamala and they leave the set. Tony: That is one scary twosome. Coming up on the 31st of this month, MACW presents Coastal Clash! Live from the Charlotte Coliseum. If you can't be in Charlotte that evening, you can see the event live as it happens in an arena near you via Closed Circuit! We've discussed the US Title match, Randy Savage defends the title in a lumberjack match against Terry Taylor. We would like to also announce today that the US Tag Team titles will also be defended as the newly crowned champions, the Moondog's will face off with Ray Stevens and Pat Patterson. Tag Team Match, One-Fall, 10-Minute TV Time Limit Junkyard Dog & Sweet Daddy Siki vs The Strongbow's Just after the bell rings, this breaks down immediately into a fight. But not even a minute into the match, Skandor Akbar rushes to the ring. He climbs up on the apron, barking out orders. The referee steps in, trying to get him down. Akbar nails the referee and pulls the referee out of the ring. Kamala appears and attacks JYD and Siki. The referee gets back up and calls for the bell. Kamala and the Strongbow's attacking both men. The Strongbow's hold down JYD for Kamala so he can give him the big splash. Sivi Afi appears to try to help, but the numbers don't let him. Strongbow's hold down Siki and Kamala gives him the big splash. Afi is the next victim as he gets the big splash too. A number of referee's and officials appear to break up the chaos. Time: 39 Seconds Decision: JYD and Siki via DQ Tony: What a chaotic way to end the show! We still have to announce the last four teams for the tournament next weekend! David: The referee's have the ring under control now, they are attending to JYD, Siki and Sivi. In a sad twist, those three are the fifth team to be in the tournament. Hopefully they will be physically able to compete next week. Tony: Well, I had heard that Akbar had entered a team into the tournament. We haven't had an official announcement, but looking at what happened here, the sixth team looks to be Kamala with the Strongbow's, being lead by Skandor Akbar. David: The seventh team, is The Grappler's with Rip Rogers. Tony: The last team, The Windham's with their good friend, Sam Houston! What a tournament this should be David! 22. MACW requests Abby for March 22(TV), 26(TV) and 31(Closed Circuit Event).
  23. Dangerous Alliance, another one of my favorite podcasts to listen to. I just finished this one over the weekend. Loved the Royal Rumble discussion on both falls, and the Kevin Nash living the gimmick fall was fun too. Super fun show, keep it up. Thank you guys for making my work day so much more enjoyable!
  24. I also really enjoyed this series. I'm a few weeks back on podcasts through the PWO/PTBN network (sooo many podcasts!) but I just finished this series. I knew about SMW and have watched a few shows here and there, but this series has really sparked my interest to review the entire history of the company. Thank you guys for taking the time to discuss and share your thoughts/memories on this era.
  25. Love the Place to Be podcast! The Vintage Vaults are always a fun listen. Can't wait to listen to this one on Survivor Series 2005. We're just two shows away from New Years Revolution that I attended live. That will be even more fun for me to listen, hear Scott and Justin's thoughts on that show. Keep up the great stuff guys!
