  1. perry saturn was in same class as Paul.
  2. Although, i cannot provide direct proof of this, i believe, that john cena has limited creative control over his gimmick, and that he changed the finish at wm 30, and has changed the finish of mayches because he did not like how he would have been portrayed.
  3. Amen. Shawn Michaels gets glowing reviews from alot of guys as a worker, but mostbsay he was such an asshole behind the scenes. Why was it above reproach to,punish him as wwf champ in 1996 for the curtain call? I recently found out that Vader was supposed to beat Michaels at summerslam 96, why did that not happen? Could have rekindked vader and his ba streak. Redone the Rhodes/vader feud from 94, but no, Vince was a pussy, and bowed politicking.
  4. So tell me, is Tyson Kidd so bad on the mic, the reason that wwe has no confidence in him? He seems to be a great hand, but still he gets nothing, and douches like fandango, the miz get airtime.
  5. Was this really as bad as it was remembered, or just terrible because wcw decided that PN n news shoukd go up on a scaffolding? Or was it just awful because of the ric flair debacle, and wcw not having the ability to diffuse the situation, or the wherewithal to get a title belt replacement before the ppv. My guess is that herd wanted Luger as champ so badly, and so wanted flair gone, he made it happen, unfortunately, he got all he wanted and some, cuz flair wanted to stick it to herd.
  6. Wow, you really are a glutton for punishment, also, you must have all the time in the world, because, time seems tobgo backward watching that rubbish.
  7. The new generation, am I really back in 1994 wwf? That is what I feel like watching raw today.
  8. Ugh, is chief jay strongbow the worst native american gimmick ever? I mean, joe scarpa is not even remotley native american.
  9. I see you are like me in the thought that we all need more duthty in our lives, especially need more pay window.
  10. I love the idea of having trainers working with talent on nxt, regal is so smooth in the ring, booker t, christian, a-ry can all work the occasional feud on nxt. Regal, if nothing else, would be an excellent heel mouthpiece for a team or a stable. He can take over the tyson kidd and justin Gabriel team, make them blacker than black dark heels. Sheamus needs go be a heel. Cesaro is a face, ir a tweener. I agree with Will, if i never see the miz again, it will be too soon. This guy brings nothing to,the table, and usually, i chsnge the channel, or bathroom break, during the miz's segments. I am not sure i agree witht8gus with titus o'neal, to me he is,too green, not very good in the ring, however, he has to stop barking like JYD. I can see that angle you guys, proposed where he beats rusev, but i believe that it would be good, not great. Great idea on the podcast, cannot wait for the second installment. One thing that most of us,agree on, is that the product today is severely hampered by lack of competition, and not having other places to work. Wwe is in the same predicament that wcw was in back in 98. Oversaturation. Wwe has 5 or 6 top, guys, and has had the same 5 or 6 top guys for nearly 10 years. They have no,urgency, and are not willing to take risks, like they used to, that seems more of a product of being a public company, rather than pg, but still, boring stories, lame finishes, and cena burials. Wyatt v cena on paper looked to be a good thing, but instead of building wyatt into a monster, they booked cena the monster, and wyatt won on a flukey, gimmicky finish, in the cage. Wyatt was to win at wm30, but since vince booked the streak to end, he could not have his top stars lose. Bs
  11. No mater what, cena must stop using the stf! I am,sorry crossing your arms in front the opponent's face and making a stupid face is just awful. I mean it's like the time the godfather was in the angle lock and he had a lollipop in his mouth, looks foolish. We all know cena is staying, probably in the same tired and lame gimmick, not turning heel, because he works works with sick kids. So we as fans get fed the same stale crap, but we keep coming back. John ce,a is the poster boy for servicable wrestlers with great mic skills and charisma become long term top, stars
  12. Also, it's a wonder that Slaughter ever left Wwf. I mean this guy was more over than hogan was, it seems, and he was a heel. I mean if we had slaughter v austin, both in prime, the crowd would not know what to do, but go ape. People seem to forget that Slaughter was so over.
  13. Was this type of finish used similarly to the non-finishes used in the attitude era? It seems,i have seen this used more in wwwf, than elsewhere.
  14. Brother, you and I have talked about this before. It is about the travelling heel NWA champ. My argument is that a face could have been the travelling champ and the NWA would have been fine. I believe that it could have worked, it would have just been more work to make things smooth out, in the end. Probably, would have made some promoters happier, and some less than, to have a face champ. Look at Tommy Rich, or Kerry Von Erich, both huge faces, both got about two weeks as champ, although, Kerry, perhaps was not ready to be champ, like david was. Kerry and flair headlined the texas stadium show that drew over 40,000 in 84. I saw someone posted a booking sheet for, dates that Kerry was to wrestle, they sent him to Florida, then took the belt off of him. Could it have been done, a face traveling champ? Yes, but it was easier to run the dastardly heel out of town with his belt, when it was over with. Even the harlem globetrotters lost, occasionally.
  15. There is a reason that watts had to build gimmicks around JYD. Michael hayes "blinding" the dog, was the hottest thing they had in mid-south, set records and the like. For JYD, it would not have worked in other territories, because blacks were not seen as top stars. Dog was pushed by Watts, and he had success with him, because he was playing to his audience. Unlikely, Ole anderson would have booked JYD to go over, on TBS. So, JYD had the backing of the office, and his being hugely over with the crowd made for big money. JYD, however, needed go be carried, he could not do,it on his own. It's not to,say that he only popular in the mid-south, but also in wwf, but vince had no idea what to do b with him, and was pushing hogan as top, so JYD was bever getting too billing. I ha e to agree with Parv, travelling champs need to be a heel, or the tweener, to work fully. JYD would be to difficult to boo, and generally, heels, call the matches, and JYD strikes me as a more off the cuff guy, rather than a planner. He could make a transition champ, one month or what not, but not full time, he's just not,a good enough worker to,facilitate it.
  16. Very true, but it just made me wonder if Vince knew about Kerry's foot then and had it as an ace up his sleeve while he was sabotaging the card from taking place. It seems like a lot of people knew/suspected about it for a while, but after the DeBeers incident there was blood in the water that Vince jumped on. The fact that they tried to rely on an archaic law about barring people with artificial limbs from legit contests to keep him from competing in a worked event shows they were just trying to fuck over the show. Ironically, this, was not the last time Vince had run-ins with state athletic commissions. Famously, in 1989, Vince, no longer thought he should have to pay the ever increasing athletic fees, and did mkt like the meddling of N.Y. and NJ state athletic commissions. He claimed that they were entertainment, rather than sport, and not subject to taxation.
