I like Lynn's work, but I have to admit that the fact he helped birth the 'modern indy style', which, to paraphrase something I've seen stated elsewhere, I'm not a big fan of unless it's taking place in Reseda, definitely hurts him some in my eyes. At the end of the day, I think my take on Jerry Lynn would be 'solid hand, great guy to have on the roster, not Top 100'.

I honestly think that Orton is severely underrated online, but I can completely understand why people would find him 'boring'. I don't, I think he's one of the smoothest and most athletic guys going today. His timing is impeccable, as well. Yeah, the thrashing the mat thing is beyond dumb, and he's never really worked as 'the guy', but I don't think he's anywhere close to as bad as people tend to act like he is. Then again, I probably won't have him in my Top 100, and I couldn't name you any great matches off the top of my head, so I'm not sure any of that matters.

This is an interesting one for me. For one thing, Chris Jericho is absolutely my brother's favorite wrestler ever, although that has a lot more to do with getting him into wrestling than anything else. For me, however, Jericho is one of the most overhyped wrestlers ever. Now, don't get me wrong, he's good, but there's something about him that makes him fall short of the place that most of his fans put him on. I do think that my perception of Jericho would be better if he had stayed away after his brilliant 'Best in the world at what I do' run, as the HBK stuff, and JeriShow was some really great work. Since then, however, he's been a case of exponentially diminishing returns. As for Matt Hardy, I'd have to say he's pretty much always been my favorite Hardy. Obviously, his tag work is top notch, although probably helped by coming around at a time where the car crash style was just breaking out on a big stage. I think he proved that he could actually 'wrestle', for lack of a better way to put it, instead of just throwing his body off of stuff. I loved the V1 stuff, the 'Matt Facts', and his feud with Edge, thanks to the edge of reality, was great as well. I even liked his angle with MVP. I think, at the end of the day, overall, I'd go with Matt Hardy. I'd rather see Hardy wrestle than Jericho wrestle, though I'd probably rather see Jericho, at his best, cut promos than see Hardy cut promos. It's a close decision, but, yeah, Matt Hardy.

Well, the process is what interests me most about it, so I think we should be fine, then!

Not sure where to put this, so apologies for bumping this thread, even if it's stickied. So, I just got here, although I lurked before I registered, and, to be quite honest, my wrestling knowledge isn't anywhere close to the level of most of the other posters here. I know my WWF/E stuff, I have The Network, and I have a working knowledge of the SoCal indy scene post-millennium. I've begun to branch out, most notably with the purchase of the Highspots '10 for 10' deal, which I'd like to advocate as a strong way for someone without a ton of cash, nor inclination to research to get sent a bunch of random stuff to check out and then branch out. With my introduction out of the way, I'm basically wanting to know how my participation in something like this would be received. I'm definitely interested in it, if nothing else it will give me great motivation to check out stuff I've never seen, but I don't want to step on toes due to my lack of knowledge, if that makes sense. I guess, in a way, I'm asking if I can join the cool kids at their lunch table

As a SoCal guy, I'm heavily biased, but Super Dragon has been one of my favorite guys since I got into indy wrestling. I love him just beating the shit out of people (poor TARO), and his interactions with the crowd are second to none for a guy who didn't talk. I always thought he deserved more of a chance than he ultimately got, but injuries and stiffness probably had a lot to do with that. He's also one of the few guys who made me care about something Davey Richards was doing, as their team was pretty fun. Had that vibe of Davey trying to match up to Super Dragon at times, kinda like a little brother.

If whoever ran the LA territory was able to keep his finger somewhat on the pulse, I think it would have thrived. Even in lean times, you could lean on bringing in some luchadores to draw, and SoCal had a very solid generation of talent that started up in the late 90s/early 2000s, with Super Dragon, Samoa Joe, the other PWG guys. I don't know John Cena would get affected, but he kinda broke in out here. Same with Miz. I think that, in the end, you end up with a product built around smaller guys that can mix with the lucha style, like a larger Rev Pro/PWG style. Basically, what the SoCal scene is now, but on a bigger stage. I think guys like Kaos (from XPW), Super Dragon, Joey Ryan, Samoa Joe would all end up being bigger stars than they were in real life. Tag team scene with Aerial Express (Scorpio Sky and Quicksilver), RockNES Monsters, Chris Bosh/Scott Lost, and more? Sign me up. Another guy who might have broken out, barring injury, would have been Human Tornado, he was really charismatic. Of course, in the 80s, it could have gotten stuck as a 'big man' mini-New York, thanks to Hollywood and TV. If it didn't, though, it would have been cool to see a 'lucharesu' territory on a big stage.

I tend to find something to like in almost everything I watch, and tend to be really into whatever I'm watching at the time, so my answers for some of these questions would change if you asked me in a month. Favourite style of wrestling? When WWE does it's Main Event style right. Wild brawls would be a close second, though. Favourite way wrestling is presented? Hardcore TV style. It helps with my ADD. Favourite type of match? Tag Team. (back again...) Favourite gimmick match? Last Man Standing/Texas Death/THIS CITY Street Fight/any sort of no rules brawl set-up. Favourite wrestler? Terry Funk. Favourite match? Rock versus Hogan. It's pretty much the perfect WWE match to me. Favourite feud? Piper/Hogan. Favourite angle? Probably Mega-Powers Explode. Favourite promotion/period of wrestling? WWE (when they get it right), ECW 94-95, XPW (well, not really, but it's what got me back into wrestling, so I have to give it some love) Little things that happen in wrestling that you always love? hammerlock back suplexes, Public Enemy promos, Arn Anderson's spinebuster on The Undertaker at WM18.

Hola. I'm dedhemingway, though, if you pay particular attention to DVDVR, you might have seen one of my ~150 posts there as DMN, or, if you've ever been within 50 feet of EWB then you probably know who I am, not that it particularly matters. Anyway, as a 32 year old male from Los Angeles, I grew up on WWF, and was pretty into it until, I dunno, around WrestleMania 12? Basically missed the Attitude Era playing football and wrestling in high school, then, strangely, got back into wrestling by catching XPW on KJLA, which led me to start watching RAW again right around when the nWo ran The Rock over with a semi. I pretty much stuck with WWE from that point on, though I followed the indies through the internet. I'm probably the last man standing as far as XPW fans go (an unabashedly so, always thought XPW TV was highly entertaining). Love PWG, even though I've only been able to make it out to one show (the WrestleReunion show where Funk and Piper brawled, which was amazing), and with the advent of the WWE Network, I've started to branch out. Currently, I'm watching Hardcore TV on the Network, which I think is some of the most entertaining TV I've seen. I'm not sure what all of that says about my taste in wrestling, to be honest. If I had to pick my top five favorite wrestlers of all-time, it'd probably go Terry Funk, Randy Savage, Roddy Piper, Eddie Guerrero, and...New Jack. Yeah, New Jack. You will probably hate me. >_>
