Wonder Women of Wrestling – Episode No. LXXXIII – “June Spectacular” – 29th of June 1987 – Airing Live! – Las Vegas, Nevada Advertised Match: Medusa Miceli versus Wendi Richter for the NWA World Women’s Championship We kick this week off hot at the opening bell of the television title match, between Wendi Richter and Lisa Moretti. The commentators explain that this is the first of three matches scheduled for the triple champion. The action is fast-paced and brutal throughout, as Wendi Richter desperately tries to get a quick win and Lisa Moretti keeps up with her. In the end, a frustrated Wendi Richter takes the easy way out, goading Lisa Moretti into leaving the ring and walloping her with a steel chair as she does so. Lisa Moretti defeats Wendi Richter in 12:05 by disqualification but the WWW Television Championship and the WWW Fighting Spirit Championship and the NWA Texas Women’s Championship do not change hands A brief video package plays, running down the rest of tonight’s card before we head to the interviews. Lisa Moretti screams at the top of her lungs, demanding some sort of justice from the company, only eventually being calmed down by Pat Patterson who gives her some vague promises. Wendi Richter mocks her opponent, claiming that she doesn’t feel bad for taking the easy way out and implying she’ll consider that option if her next match – against Velvet McIntyre – drags on in a similar fashion. A commercial break then brings us to our first season match, with Mad Maxine taking on Penny Mitchell. In this heel versus heel contest, the role of temporary babyface goes to Mad Maxine, as she struggles to hold her own against Penny Mitchell, who uses every dirty trick at her disposal to take the big woman down. It all proves too much, however, when Candi Devine trips Mad Maxine up, allowing Penny Mitchell to nail her with a top rope move. Penny Mitchell defeats Mad Maxine in 13:45 by pinfall after an elbow drop in a Season Match A hype video plays for the main event before we move on to the interviews. Mad Maxine leaves her interview early and the camera follows her as she tracks down Penny Mitchell. We then get a shot of Mad Maxine lifting Penny Mitchell up by the neck and slamming her against a wall as staff members swarm into the scene before we cut to a commercial break. We then return in time for the second season match, this one between Heidi Lee Morgan and Jamie West. With their partners in their corners, these two women proceed to have a respectful back-and-forth that could go either way. In the end, it’s down to who can find themselves in the right place at the right time. Heidi Lee Morgan defeats Jamie West in 12:23 by pinfall after a gutbuster in a Season Match We the interviews, we get a brief clip of Pat Patterson announcing that, in light of her conduct earlier in the night, Wendi Richter’s match against Velvet McIntyre is being given a “no disqualifications” stipulation. We get a joint interview with the Star Girls, Misty Blue Simmes and Heidi Lee Morgan, and they praise one another before more generally bigging up the company and many of their fellow babyfaces. A commercial break then brings us to the tag team title match, with Rhonda Singh and Reggie Bennett facing a challenge from Trudy Adams and Goldie Ray. The contest serves as a showcase for the tag champions as – though the faces do their best and get a few good moves in here and there – they hold a remarkable physical advantage over their opponents. Rhonda Singh & Reggie Bennett defeat Trudy Adams & Goldie Ray in 11:39 when Rhonda Singh pins Goldie Ray after a splash to retain the NWA World Women’s Tag Team Championship We get a short segment with some excited fans talking about their favourite wrestlers and issuing predictions for the main event before heading to the interviews. Trudy Adams and Goldie Ray talk up their opponents’ power, and pledge to training harder, thanking the company for giving them a chance at the titles, nonetheless. Rhonda Singh and Reggie Bennett promise to crush whoever else is put up against them. Another commercial break then brings us to the dual title match, between Wendi Richter and Velvet McIntyre. The commentators make much of the fact that the contest has been given the “no disqualifications” stipulation though that rule does not come into play in the early goings of the match. The two women go at each other hard, but largely stay within the rules until the first commercial break, after which the gloves come off. There is plenty of brawling around the ring and even a few weapons shots. Wendi Richter gets some colour before deciding to pull out the big guns. In a well-planned stunt, Velvet McIntyre is driven from the ring apron and through the announcer’s table. Wendi Richter defeats Velvet McIntyre in 29:32 by pinfall after a powerbomb to retain the WWW Fighting Spirit Championship and the NWA Texas Women’s Championship and the WWW Television Championship does not change hands A hype package for the main event then plays us through to the interviews. Velvet McIntyre is in a sorry state and Medusa Miceli fusses over her before promising bloody revenge. Wendi Richter is nursing a wound of her own, as a medic cleans up her crimson mask, but she says that this “conspiracy” by the company to lower her chances of winning won’t stop her from regaining the world title. Another commercial break then brings us to our final season match of the evening, with Desiree Petersen taking on Princess Delta Dawn. The fight is a far more light-hearted affair from the one that preceded it, as tells a fairly simple story. Princess Delta Dawn throws her weight around and even gets a near fall, but Desiree Petersen demonstrates much better technical skill and strategic thinking. Desiree Petersen defeats Princess Delta Dawn in 11:55 by submission with a Boston crab in a Season Match We then get a clip from some recent favourable local news coverage and charity work from a few of the company’s babyface before getting to the interviews. Princess Delta Dawn gives a shouty promo, crying foul and even seeming to threaten to kill the interviewer. Desiree Petersen is surrounded by her fellow Giant Slayers, who gush over her and congratulate her for her solid performance. Another commercial break then brings us to the main event. Somewhat predictably, Medusa Miceli interrupts the elaborate entrance of Wendi Richter, coming up from behind and beating her all the way down the ramp. By the time the bell rings, they have already both done a lot of damage to each other. An ugly brawl plays itself out until we get through our last commercial break, after which the pair try racing to the finish. By the time we do get to the end, both women are sweating profusely, looking bruised and groggy. Managing one last burst of energy, Medusa Miceli locks her arms around Wendi Richter’s waist and takes her up for not one but two German suplexes. Medusa Miceli defeats Wendi Richter in 32:04 by pinfall after a German suplex to retain the NWA World Women’s Championship but the WWW Fighting Spirit Championship and the NWA Texas Women’s Championship do not change hands We end on a shot of Medusa Miceli wincing as she celebrates, with Wendi Richter sprawled out on the canvas. * P.S. Sorry for going missing, I've been laid low with an illness for the best several days. Seem to be getting better, though! Thanks for the feedback in the meantime!

Wonder Women of Wrestling – Episode No. LXXXII – 22nd of June 1987 – Airing Live! – Las Vegas, Nevada Advertised Match: Wendi Richter versus Lisa Moretti in a two-out-of-three falls match for the WWW Fighting Spirit Championship and the NWA Texas Women’s Championship and the WWW Television Championship We open hot, this week, with a season match between Medusa Miceli and Judy Martin. Up against the world champion and with another match scheduled for later in the night, Judy Martin doesn’t seem to know what to do with herself. The result is that, despite the Glamour Girls at ringside only partially mitigated by Velvet McIntyre, the contest is simply a showcase for Medusa Miceli. After beating her from pillar to post, the world champion finally puts her opponent out of her misery. Medusa Miceli defeats Judy Martin in 08:22 by pinfall after a German suplex in a Season Match and the NWA World Women’s Championship does not change hands A hype package for the main event then plays us into the interviews. The Glamour Girls decry the match as unfair but claim that it won’t impact their performance later on against the Nasty Girls. Medusa Miceli uses her interview time to chat with Velvet McIntyre, focusing on how much they been enjoying talking to their fans at the pre-show VIP events. A commercial break then takes thought to our second season match, with Misty Blue Simmes taking on Peggy Lee Leather. Though this match is more even than the one that preceded it, Misty Blue Simmes is still firmly in control, with Peggy Lee Leather turning the tide only on brief occasions after an unhealthy dose cheating. In the end, we get a clean and decisive finish. Misty Blue Simmes defeats Peggy Lee Leather in 12:09 by pinfall after a diving splash in a Season Match A fun music video promoting the tag team division then plays before we get to the interviews. Peggy Lee Leather rants and raves incoherently before cutting the interview short with a table flip. Misty Blue Simmes is joined by Heidi Lee Morgan, and they choose to talk about their prospects of regaining the tag team titles, talking up the company’s tag division in general. Another commercial break brings us, naturally, to some tag team action, with the Glamour Girls taking on the Nasty Girls. We get nothing but violent abandon in this heel programme. The Glamour Girls have a numbers advantage, with Liz Chase and Despina Montagas at ringside, but the Nasty Girls have the technical superiority, especially against Judy Martin, who is still sore from her earlier match. Leilani Kai tries her damnedest to get her team back on top, and gets a few very close near-falls, but in the end the Nasty Girls prove to be too much to handle. Linda Dallas & Kat LeRoux defeat Leilani Kai & Judy Martin in 14:39 when Linda Dallas submits Judy Martin with a single leg crab Another hype package for the main event plays and we get to the interviews. The Glamour Girls are struggling to explain their loss, eventually settling for blaming Medusa Miceli. The Nasty Girls gush over one another and promise to eviscerate the next team that gets put in front of them. A commercial break then gets us to the main event. Lisa Moretti and Wendi Richter both get entrances befitting champions in this title-for-title match. We get the rules read out before the opening bell, getting shots of women giving fierce looks at one another. The first part of the match is a methodical technical contest, with both wrestlers going slow and making sure to leave a lot in the tank. Shortly before the first commercial break, we get a pinfall, with Wendi Richter executing a flawless small package. We then return to find Lisa Moretti in a sorry state, clearly rattle by the early loss, getting beaten all around the ring. It takes an almighty scare, a pinfall attempt that near ends the match at the twenty-minute mark, for Lisa Moretti to snap out of it regain some ground. Wendi Richter kicks out of a pin after a powerslam just a millisecond too late and we have an even scoreboard. All through the next commercial break, and right up to the finish then, the two women kick things into high gear and brutalise each other. In the end, it comes down to which of them is the meanest and nastiest. Wendi Richter defeats Lisa Moretti in 47:51 by two falls to one to retain the WWW Fighting Spirit Championship and the NWA Texas Women’s Championship and win the WWW Television Championship We end on a shot of a breathless Wendi Richter clumsily holding up her three titles as Lisa Moretti nurses her bruised body.

Wonder Women of Wrestling – Episode No. LXXXI – 15th of June 1987 – Airing Live! – Las Vegas, Nevada Advertised Match: Lisa Moretti versus Leilani Kai We open this week’s show with a promotional music video, with plenty of shots from a recent photoshoot and a few different sponsored charity events. We then make our way down to the ring for the television title match, with Lisa Moretti taking on Rhonda Singh. The commentators make much of the fact that the champ has a non-title season match later on tonight. Whilst Lisa Moretti is able to outwrestle her opponent, Rhonda Singh does not go down easy, and their battle continues through a commercial break. By the time we get to the finish, both women are sweaty and increasingly angry. After rolling out of the way of a splash attempt, the champ capitalises on a prone opponent, sits on her back and cranks back on her neck with all her might. Lisa Moretti defeats Rhonda Singh in 23:44 by submission with a rear chinlock to retain the WWW Television Championship We get a video package highlighting the new merchandise catalogue and the goodies inside before transitioning to the interviews. Rhonda Singh and Mad Maxine cut their interview short and storm off, only to reappear to interrupt Lisa Moretti’s interview with threats of violence. A horde of staff intervene, however, and we go to another commercial break. We return in time for some tag team action, with the Star Girls taking on Desiree Petersen and Winona Little Heart. A pure babyface contest means that we get a clean, fun and fast-paced match. Both teams get some time to shine but, as ever, it’s Winona Little Heart whose performance is the most impressive and she ends the fight on her terms. Desiree Petersen & Winona Little Heart defeat Rockin’ Robin & Jamie West in 13:01 when Winona Little Heart pins Jamie West with a victory roll A hype package for the main event plays us into the interviews. The Giant Slayers turn up and sit with the Star Girls, showing that there are no hard feelings, and they chitchat about the season and the prospect of winning the tag team titles. A commercial break then brings us to a season match, with Kat LeRoux facing Luna Vachon. Things start slowly as the two women try to feel each other out. It becomes more and more obvious as the match progresses that Luna Vachon has been training quite seriously since her last match and Kat LeRoux responds to this with dirty tricks. In the end, however, and to her own surprise, Luna Vachon overcomes these odds and manages to keep Kat LeRoux’s shoulders down just long enough to get the three-count. Luna Vachon defeats Kat LeRoux in 12:33 by pinfall after a moonsault in a Season Match A clip package showing off the most recent set of results for the season then transitions us to the interviews. The Nasty Girls rant and rave, and Kat Le Roux vows never to underestimate Luna Vachon again. For her part, Luna Vachon struggles to contain her joy at having pulled off a win and she promises to keep this momentum going. After a commercial break, we arrive at the main event, with Lisa Moretti and Leilani Kai facing off in a non-title affair. With her fellow Glamour Girls all around the ring, Leilani Kai’s cheating ways push Lisa Moretti into the babyface role as she goes above and beyond to compensate for the wear and tear from her earlier match and the constant interference from her enemies at ringside. When we emerge from the break, Lisa Moretti is in serious peril, rolling out of the ring to escape a pinfall after a big boot and getting nailed with a chair across the back from Liz Chase. After the time wasted bringing her back into the ring, however, Lisa Moretti is able to kick out at two and three quarters. The resulting temper tantrum from Leilani Kai is enough to turn the tide, as she’s blindsided by a clothesline. A nasty back-and-forth then ensues but the superior technician is able to come out on top. Lisa Moretti defeats Leilani Kai in 29:44 by pinfall with a small package in a Season Match and the WWW Television Championship does not change hands
