  4. Top post updated with New Japan & USWA participants to the tournament added. Also, only 1 open contract left to face the Rougeau Brothers for the NWA World Tag Team Championships during the tournament. The Rougeaus will face NJPW's Tiger Masks on Night 1 while they will face The Road Warriors on Night 3 of the tournament. Also, a reminder that we will sanction any match that a territory want to feature on Nights 2 & 3 of the tournament if they want to do so.
  5. This is the thread about the second Johnny Rougeau Memorial Cup taking place at the Montreal Forum from April 28 to April 30. For those who participated last year, same formula will apply for this year: -3 day tournament with the 1st Round matches taking place on Night 1 -Night 2 will feature Round 2 & Quarter-Finals plus 1 or 2 matches featuring eliminated talents -Night 3 will feature Semi-Finals & Finals plus other matches -Given the ban imposed to the World Wrestling Federation following the Dino Bravo signing, their slots in the tournament (except for Andre the Giant) will be alloted to freelancers Jerry Lawler, Stan Hansen & Bruiser Brody The Rougeau Brothers won't be in the tournament this year however, they WILL be defending the NWA World Tag Team Championship on all 3 nights with open contracts. Any promoters willing to take those open contracts can contact me in private until the start of the tournament. Of course, those tag teams mustn't be involved in the tournament themselves. You can already submit your 4 participants entering the tournament this year in this topic. Once I'll have all of the names, I'll randomly form the bracket for the tournament just like last year. Finally, if some promoters want to feature a specific match from their promotion on Night 2 & Night 3, they can also contact me in private just like in the case of the open contracts. Freelancers: Andre the Giant, Jerry Lawler, Stan Hansen & Bruiser Brody Lutte Internationale: Luke Williams, Bob Backlund, Rick Martel & Larry Zbyszko New Japan Pro Wrestling: Toshiaki Kawada, Nobuhiko Takada, Masa Chono & Yoji Anjo USWA: Dusty Rhodes, Ted Dibiase, Jimmy Snuka & Hacksaw Butch Reed Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling: Tully Blanchard, Terry Funk, One Man Gang, George "The Animal" Steele Continental Championship Wrestling: Austin Idol, Brad Armstrong, Hercules Hernandez & Mr. Olympia AWA: Rick Rude, Buddy Rose, Mike Rotundo, Steven Regal Non-Tournament Matches Night 1 NWA World Tag Team Championship: The Rougeau Brothers vs The Tiger Masks (JWA) Night 2 NWA World Tag Team Championship: The Rougeau Brothers vs The Perfect Alliance (UWF) Night 3 NWA World Tag Team Championship: The Rougeau Brothers vs The Road Warriors (UWF)
  6. Zero complaints whatsoever with the Young Lions Cup. Everyone in the tournament has their chance to shine, even in the non-tournament matches. Really liked Yamada vs Owen and Sting vs Mutoh. And Adrian Adonis will sure prove to be a powerhouse in New Japan very shortly!
  7. Interesting to see The Fantastics on the A-crew and the Russians on the B-crew for this one. Nice mix!
  8. King Andre has a nice ring to it!
  9. Oh man, this is gonna be good. BRILLIANT backstory. Kudos to you, Kevin, for finally making this work like you wanted!
  10. Love that partnership between you two. Everyone seems to be getting their ducks in row to be as competitive as they can. Looking very much forward to your work together, guys!

  18. I usually leave myself some leeway and my options open, in case I wanna modify the direction I want an angle going. That's why I'm more precise in those situations in my match results.
  19. Absolutely. The Piper/Kamala pairing is intriguing but it all works anyway, considering how insane Piper himself is!
  20. Yeah, he was on my roster on the very beginning when I took over Detroit but I released him rather quickly in my game.
  21. Sorry about that. That's something I need to be more careful about, even if it's not something major. I usually do this because I think people might picture different kinds of finishes when they read the results. But I always indicate when there's a DQ or CO when necessary. So, if there's no specifics included, it's either by pinfall or submission.

  23. ***Exceptionnally, because of time constraints and because I don't wanna fall behind on my show schedule, this week's TV will be done in form of a recap. Things will go back to normal next week!*** NWA Lutte Internationale TV Taped at CHLT-TV Studios, Sherbrooke, QC Broadcasted March 9th, 1985 After a last couple of hectic weeks of TV, things were a little bit calmer this week. But still, that didn't mean that we wouldn't get a good main event as this week, Sika of the Wild Samoans went one-on-one with one half of the NWA World Tag Team Champions Jacques Rougeau. But that didn't mean we weren't in for a surprise! To start the show, Bob Backlund went one-on-one with the masked grappler UFO in a showcase of the former WWF Champion's technical skills. To no one's surprise, the veteran from Princeton, Minnesota grabbed an easy victory. After the match, Backlund was interviewed by Édouard Carpentier at the broadcast booth and Backlund made no bones about his intentions of eventually going after Terry Funk & the NWA International Heavyweight Championship. That brought up Terry's big brother, Dory Funk Jr, who confronted Backlund over his claim. Dory told Backlund that if he wants a shot at his brother's championship, he's gonna have to go through him first. Backlund says that he's got no problem with that and that they could settle this tomorrow night at the Centre Paul-Sauvé in a singles match. Dory accepts and the match is made for tomorrow night! Speaking of Terry Funk, video footage of Terry's recent attacks on NWA US Heavyweight Champion Magnum TA were shown in various Mid-Atlantic events. Guy Hauray & Édouard Carpentier hype that Terry Funk will go one-on-one with Magnum TA at the Clash of The Champions TV special in 2 weeks for the United States Championship. They discuss what would it mean if Terry would become a dual champion and how much more dangerous this would make him. Still on the topic of Terry Funk, the man who allowed him to win the NWA International Heavyweight Championship, Alexis Smirnoff crashed the broadcast booth and he wasn't alone as he was accompanied by his newest ally, Boris Zhukov, who debuted the night before at the Forum, scoring a huge win on Jacques Rougeau in a Triangle Match. Smirnoff wants a Bolshevik Revolution to take over NWA Lutte Internationale. He cites in example the success of Ivan Koloff & Nikita Koloff elsewhere to show that the Soviet Union is the most dominant power, not only in professional wrestling but in the world. Zhukov vows to make sure that Alexis Smirnoff beats Terry Funk for his title when he gets his title shot. Smirnoff also claims that the Bolshevik Revolution found a new ally, who'll be revealed very soon. Before the main event, Guy Hauray & Édouard Carpentier hype a Lutte vs Mid-Atlantic special next week. Sam Houston, Bob Orton, Magnum TA, Superstar Billy Graham & Terry Funk will ALL be in action next week! In the main event, a rekindled rivalry - at least, half of it - as Sika of the Wild Samoans battled Jacques Rougeau. As expected, the intensity was as high as it was the first time they met last September. After a grueling battle, Jacques' speed and athleticism overcame Sika's brute strength & aggressiveness. Jacques Rougeau was interviewed in the end of the show by Édouard Carpentier and was joined by his brother Raymond. It was announced that the Rougeaus would be defending the NWA World Tag Team Championship against the Rock N' Roll Express at Clash of the Champions. Jacques said it will be an honor for them to defend their titles against one of the best tag teams in the world and they plan on retaining their titles. Raymond added that this would be a dream match coming true and they'd plan on stealing the show at Clash of the Champions, proving why they're the very best tag team in the world today. The Rougeaus concluded the show by reminding every tag team in the world that if they want a shot at them, they won't back down from anyone. À LA SEMAINE PROCHAINE SI DIEU LE VEUT!
  24. Yeah, great entrance for Adrian Adonis. Great addition to your roster. He was on my shortlist of free agents from the Memphis draft to bring back to Lutte but he'll do great with you for sure!
  25. I love getting a feel on some of these Continental names I'm not all familiar with. For instance, I'd heard about Mike Davis' days as one half of the Rock N' Roll RPMs but I always knew him as the weird psycho in the GWF in the early 90's. So, for me, it's really cool to get a taste of it.
