It seems that he was also dehydrated. Considering it was his longest singles match... Honestly, this whole situation just makes me pissed with the NJPW style. 40 minute long matches and extra hard hitting obviously is a damn dangerous combination.

After a very, very long time of mediocre TV, last night's episode of NXT was pretty damn great from top to bottom. From a great match in Lorcan vs McIntyre (who looks like a fucking megastar), to much needed development videos for Ember Moon, to matches establishing new talent like Ruby Riot and Dylan Miley (who was great btw), it just felt good. Hopefully it keeps the pace.

Holy shit, what a match. Right on the beginning Drew does a very quick belly to belly suplex that makes Oney bail to the outside, but come back with a vengeance. From that point on, they just blast each other with everything they can. Uppercuts, chops, slaps to the goddamn face, and it's not like Oney is perceived as this weakling because of the size difference - he lays it in just as much, if not more, than Drew himself. The closing moments of the match see Drew hitting his scary inverted Alabama Slam, and then a flying boot that makes Oney bleed on the spot. Just gruesome. Fast paced, violent, and overall great. Drew looked like a huge, huge star in this match to the point I could say he can hang on the main roster without any problem. Lorcan looked like a killer too, despite being much smaller. **** 1/2

https://twitter.com/davemeltzerWON/status/852268859268546560 Meltzer trying to equate something as serious as a brain hematoma (which already killed someone in Japan) with minor, easier to handwave injuries like cracked ribs is something very stupid.

I guess Jinder wants to work like Sheamus, who is a goddamn stiff motherfucker sometimes, but also is more than willing to take his potatoes. That itself is cool, since Sheamus is one of the company's best workers, but he needs to control himself. You can be stiff and still take care of your opponent.

Jinder is kinda getting some love on twitter. His RIDICULOUS body transformation and in-ring improvement may be reasons. The stiff as shit elbow also might be a cause, I dunno.

[1998-08-02-NJPW-G1 Climax] Shinya Hashimoto vs Kazuo Yamazaki
KawadaSmile replied to Loss's topic in August 1998
Some great, great stuff right here. Yamazaki knows he ain't going to win against Hashimoto on a head on fight - a chop on the early moments of the match sends that message pretty clearly - and as such develops a strategy to take the big man's leg down. This ain't pretty, and it's not supposed to. Yamazaki uses whatever he can, from low dropkicks to ramming his shoulder and head into Hashimoto's left knee. Turns out it paid off, with Hashimoto's kicks becoming less effective at one point in the match, which leads to Yamazaki building up more and more for a submission which almost gets him the win. Being a damn warrior, Hashimoto fights through the pain in one of the most believable ways possible. He knows it hurts him when he kicks or moves around, but as long as he can hurt Yamazaki more, he's fine with it. His striking superiority gets him the win in the end, to cap it all off with an amazing brainbuster. **** 1/2. Hashimoto's the best.- 11 replies

Wasn't the injury angle made because Heath and Rhyno got many times more over than AA though? Besides it also set up The Usos as very good heels and got them over as well. They are just bland, sadly. Good wrestlers? Sure - Gable's moonsault today was a thing of beauty - but so are Jimmy and Jay and both have personalities and can talk.
-
The Face that Runs the Place vs The Face of America. Another good triple threat involving AJ and Corbin. Baron looked very good and dominant throughout a big portion of the match, which is great.
-
Holy shit, New Day to SmackDown! Guess that answers my question about who The Usos are going to work with.
-
Good on Nakamura being one of the shows' most over wrestlers without having to wrestle. I doubt he's going to do much unless it's something big like AJ or Zayn, because I can't imagine him bothering to put an effort against Dolph fucking Ziggler.
-
It seems to be over with the crowd, as obnoxious as it can get. Tye is a good babyface and SD was in need of that, so no complaints here. I want a Sin Cara vs AJ Styles, or even Sin Cara vs Corbin.
-
Seems like Finn suffered a concussion, according to PWI. Jinder is strong style, dammit.
-
Saying that Jimmy Snuka was one of the greatest of all time is problematic.
-
Mojo is the shit, brothers. Huge star in the making.
-
Usos with another good match. At this rate they might just become the best TV workers of 2017. Also, Primo and Epico, albeit good wrestlers, are literally the most underwhelming options SD could get. What's next for the Usos if another tag team doesn't come along?
-
TBH I don't want Jericho in a wrestling ring altogether. Not sure about his schedule, though - is it feasible to have him win and then pass it on the following SD?
-
Okay, so if Jericho wins he goes to SD. I guess it's a way to avoid KO/Zayn being locked on the god damn same brand again.
-
Are they giving us a 3 way for US Title contendeship?
-
On one hand it would be good because well, Shibata doesn't have a fucking hematoma on his brain. On the other hand why the fuck would you do a work based on that? Specially when the guy's been doing stiff headbutts for YEARS.
-
He's learning how to work the WWE style aka the only style that matters.
-
As long as we get NakaMojo I'm okay
-
GOOD LORD IS ORTON/WYATT OVER?
-
Not really. When was that?
