  1. Terry Funk is probably the winner though.
  2. Jushin Liger-26 years vs. Naoki Sano (1990) vs. KUSHIDA (2016)
  3. How do you feel about late era Dexter? After season 4 it becomes a super peaks and valleys show. Hated season 5, thought season 6 was pretty good, season 7 was OK, season 8 started strong but completely sputtered out at the finish line.
  4. The "Is TNA the Worst Promotion?" thread is interesting because a lot of cool stuff is being re-discovered and there are some really high peak matches, but there's still a ton of crap they put on as well.
  5. His TV match resume is very good, especially when he was almost regularly wrestling in 2016. And the fact that he got legitimately good stuff out of Jinder of all people speaks volumes to his ability of making the most out of (almost) anyone.
  6. The Roman ER match and Cena Rumble match might be the the two best of his career.
  7. The weekly weigh-ins Team 3D had to have in order to participate in X Division matches were hilarious.
  8. The Simpsons Breaking Bad Seinfeld Dexter Law & Order: SVU Bojack Horseman Family Guy It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia Big Bang Theory The Office (U.S.)
  9. I think this was the best of the series. While the last two matches saw them basically just having a wrestle, the intensity was turned up quite a few notches this time. Nakamura was aggressive from the onset and repeatedly disrespected A.J. with stomps and taps to the head. A.J. in turn was much more fired-up during his comebacks, hitting a forearm to the back of the head in particular. Still, Nakamura always seemed one step ahead until A.J. threw a chair at his legs (which reverberated and cut him up something nice). Both men trading low blows was good at first but then it got way overkill leading to an unbelievably anti-climactic and nonsensical double-finish. Still, there was a lot to like about this match.
  10. Liv isn't great, but I think she has the character stuff down pretty well and does a good job with those flopping heel bumps. Sarah hasn't really stood out though.
  11. The whole feud stunk to begin with, but Brie all of a sudden turning heel in 2014 for reasons even after all the awful things Nikki did to her was some of the laziest storytelling I've ever seen. Then again, that sort of sums up late 2014 into 2015 WWE.
  12. I was always against the move to the four-sided ring. Six sides is what made them unique.
  13. As soon as Russo got back in TNA in 2006, he turned AJ Styles from a super over babyface main eventer into a stupid tag-along heel. It's amazing that AJ managed to actually make it work, it's a testament to his talent, really. But the turn really sucked when it happened and made no sense whatsoever. I always thought Tatanka (yeah, old-school), once the turn was done (which was excellent in build in execution) went from hot babyface to just totally blah in a matter of weeks. Lackey A.J. is literally one of my least favorite runs in all of wrestling.
  14. A.J's heel turn in 2010 that led him to becoming the new "Nature Boy". Just a really bad fit for him. I've actually hated all of A.J's heel runs with the exception of Bullet Club and his turn in WWE. Seemed like he had a much better idea of who he wanted to be and how to convey that on the mic.
  15. I think that would be really cool.
  16. That being said, I think you could possibly make Braun look vulnerable without sacrificing his aura too much against a big guy like Lashley or maybe Roman if they turn him heel. The only problem is that the rest of Raw's heels are pretty much scrubs.
  17. Orton turning face in 2004. The thumbs-down moment was definitely memorable, but it was all down-hill from there. He was just never believable as a clean-cut good guy.
  18. Only book part-timers as solutions? I never once said that. Could have sworn I said the guy shouldn't have to be on TV every week and that trying to build up challengers for a guy who's whole gimmick is that he's nearly unstoppable could run the risk of damaging his aura. And sure, they could be creative and find ways to protect him. But if you keep the belt on him for too long, he's going to need show ass at some point. I recall a time when Brock got laid out by the Authority and that went over like a lead balloon. And yeah, it's pointless to worry about these kinds of things because WWE has always done a great job of booking talent over the last few years.
  19. Awesome match. They did such a great job teasing the shots with the bat, I was practically on the edge of my seat every time it looked like someone would get hit. Io and Tam being conflicted about using the bat while Kagetsu and Sumire tried it every chance they could get was a great story. Tam was a great face in peril and Io did a tremendous job cleaning house and kicking ass. It all built to a great and satisfying finishing stretch with some unbelievable nearfalls. ****1/4.
  20. I never said Braun shouldn't be champion. I absolutely think they should put the belt on him. My concern is with him as a long-term champion. With his monster aura, it's more difficult to book feuds for him without making him look to vulnerable. Sure, you could do an injury angle or a gang-style beatdown, but how long can that go on? You also mentioned Austin and Hogan. Austin and Hogan had the benefit of not being on TV every single week. Overexposure is the name of the game in WWE unless you're Brock Lesnar. So unless they're going to take him off TV for a few weeks here and there (which I don't foresee them doing) he's going to be there every single episode. I don't trust WWE to be that creative in how they book Braun for that long without making him wrestle matches almost every week. And sure, A.J. is better than Seth. But A.J. is also on Smackdown. He's been the anchor of the show for two years and they don't usually move people from brand to brand unless it's during the shakeup. Even come this time next year, I could easily see them keeping A.J. on Smackdown unless they make Bryan the star. So they have to work with what they have now on Raw. And Lashley strikes me as someone who's a much better heel than a face.
  21. I mean on Raw.
  22. My question for those who doubt Seth is: who else besides Braun? Because I really don't think Braun is the kind of guy who should be in long title programs because that calls on him to look vulnerable at some point. Roman is dead. Lashley hasn't lit the world on fire since his return. The only other person I can think of is Finn, who probably isn't very popular among people who already are against Rollins. And people aren't calling for him to win the belt just because he wrestles good matches. It's because he's easily one of the most popular acts in the company right now.
  23. I remember one I absolutely hated when I was younger was Matt Hardy turning on Jeff in 2009. Being a huge fan of Jeff, seeing him chase the title for a year, finally get his big win, and then drop it almost immediately to do this feud with Matt while we got another Orton-Triple H match at Mania was infuriating.
  24. I agree they should be building up someone else in the wings even if Bryan did become the ace.
  25. I still don't buy that Bryan's any worse off than someone like Orton or Jeff. They're probably in worse shape than he is.
