I personally preferred this main event to the Dominion by a hair, mostly due to the 12 minutes chopped off. I think I've figured out why EVIL isn't connecting with me as the main heel, and that's because he seems intent on working the slow methodical pace that Jay White and KENTA both work. Difference is, both KENTA and White are able to make that slow pace compelling, while EVIL can't. Also, Naito needs to drop that flipping facebuster that he recently introduced, it barely looks good when hit cleanly and it's been botched several times.

They had an attendance of 4,710 with about 11,000 being allowed if they went by the 30% guideline that Japan has. I believe that all the shows leading up to this sold out though.

I think Naito was scheduled to win it back. This is Gedo booking 101 in making a new main event heel, it happened with Okada, Naito, Jay, and now EVIL. EVIL's definitely not done in the main event scene yet.

That was a fun show. Suzuki vs Shingo and Taiji vs Hiromu were both stellar, and the tag title match was good. Yano winning the KOPW title by pinning Okada was perhaps the most unexpected result as well.

A 26 minute main event, hallelujah

I hope Balor wins personally, I think he's the best of the 4

That 4-way is perhaps the best 4-way ever. The Zayn/Neville story thread throughout was great, and both Kidd and Breeze (especially Breeze) shone throughout. That combo Breeze hit to almost win the title was molten.

Fatal 4-way Iron Man between those four sounds like it's gonna be the most batshit insane thing ever. Get ready for kick-outs galore.

If Roman comes back with the SHIELD vest and music I'm gonna cry

I want to see Suzuki challenge for the belt and propose a UWF-i style match.

Before the game, I was expecting a Bayern demolition, but Barcelona for the first 20-25 minutes looked good and could have had about 3 goals themselves. The big difference between the two was Bayern were able to shift their tactics immediately and stopped leaking chances whereas Barcelona couldn't. And yeah Kawada is right about the first Liverpool leg, that match pretty much epitomised Barcelona's entire season. A sub-par performance saved by moments of Messi magic. I feel like before that match Barca had been riding on their reputation and after that loss teams were beginning to see the cracks and were more willing to attack Barcelona, resulting in this dreadful season they've just had.

Stadium Show is on the 29th

WWE TV 08/10 - 08/16 Rollins is basically HHH's heir to the throne, isn't he?

That thread pretty much nails the biggest problem with WWE. If I only want compelling characters and storylines, I could watch almost anything rather than WWE. -
That NEVER final was pretty sweet, and nice moment in the end.

You weren't kidding about the AJ Styles thing holy shit this was in 2015

They almost turned on him in 2017 after an awful face run. It took Dean Ambrose reuniting with him to rehab him.

I genuinely don't understand the love the squaredcircle has for The Fiend character. I know people are generally down on Seth, but it's amazing to me that squaredcircle shat all over him for their feud while Bray got away scot-free, when it's been said that Bray Wyatt has a degree of creative control over his character.

These rumours flying about are fucking crazy. Might actually watch RAW for the first time in years.
-
Right, so who had that on their 2020 bingo cards?
-
What the fuck. So they essentially had to be bullied into one of their best-received Manias in recent history.

Sami's always been a good promo so I had no doubt he'd kill his heel role, but he's just such a great face, and it boggles the mind that they didn't capitalise on how popular he was becoming in 2016.

For me, the decline of NXT began with Gargano's first heel turn. He was the best babyface in the world at the beginning of 2018 but was noticeably getting worse reactions by the end of the Ciampa series (a feud that really should have ended at the first match). Rather than try and rehab him, they turn him heel and I completely lost interest in his character, especially his silly 'Shout the story' moments during his matches. This also started a trend of turning natural babyfaces into heels for seemingly no reason (see Dakota Kai and Candice LeRae).

The kopw title runs into the same problem the hiac ppv has. Gimmick matches for the sake of gimmick matches just aren't special. I don't think it's going to work at all. At the same time, people are willing to defend this because there's a trust in Gedo to deliver, not just because of the quality of matches on display.
-
Not only that but NXT since 2015 has had the reputation in the IWC of putting on some of the best wrestling in the world so they already had a bit of momentum going into their TV debut that they have failed to capitalise on.
