  1. Bloody hell, this looks atrocious.
  2. As much as I loved Ospreay in 2019, what drags him down, for me at least, is that a lot of his matches felt very similar. Not only that, I thought Shingo had better tournament runs, and was better in big match situations, even if he doesn't have the sheer volume that Ospreay has.
  3. Becky vs Charlotte vs Sasha
  4. Some that I consider Okada in 2017 Hokuto in 1993 Toyota in 1995 Samoa Joe in 2005 Misawa in 1995 Kobashi in 1993 Flair in 1989 Bryan in 2006
  5. It's weird because before Honor Club they had a good amount of stuff available all the way back to 2002. They didn't have everything, and there were some glaring omissions like the Punk vs Joe trilogy, but there was still a decent amount.
  6. There were a couple of years where the junior tag division was awesome, 2014-2015 I'd say, but that's about the best either tag divisions have looked. The lack of quality tag matches for singles stars wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the fact that there are very few tag teams worth mentioning, and the matches themselves are mediocre. I happen to be a fan of G.O.D, but I know a lot of people hate them, and with them dominating the division a lot of people are turned off. Plus there are very few tag teams that aren't just singles guys thrown together. Of the top of my head I can only think of G.O.D and Tencozy for HW, though Tencozy is stretching it slightly, and Roppongi 3k for the junior division. I really think they should utilise ROH more for this purpose, especially The Briscoes, who had an awesome couple of matches with G.O.D last summer.
  7. Just gonna chime in on this Nick Gage love and say that his match with David Arquette was the most surreal wrestling match I've ever watched
  8. When Graves isn't trying his best to obnoxiously heel it up he can be a damn good commentator
  9. I think you guys are selling Tanahashi a bit short. He might not have the fan connection that Kobashi has, but he's consistently ranked as the number 1 or number 2 most popular wrestler in Japan. Plus there's that anecdote from AJ that mentions he saw fans crying when he put Tanahashi in the calf-killer.
  10. Orton/Edge and Lesnar/Drew is the first time I've been interested in a WWE feud since Becky/Sasha. Orton is the most frustrating wrestler of all time. We've had flashes of his best work in 2004, 2007-09, 2011, and now here with Edge. If he had any sort of consistency he'd be one of the world's best.
  11. I don't think All Japan own the footage to those so I doubt we'd be seeing those on the Network.
  12. Is it not on NJPW world?
  13. I'd say their Mania match was pretty good and their LMS match was damn fun. Cena was one of the few who could bring out something good in Wyatt.

Cobb has his moments but is really inconsistent. Archer is a terrific fit for AEW, with a good character and an excellent big-man moveset, something I think they need more of in AEW.
  15. Man, the reaction here is the complete polar opposite to wreddit and I'm in agreement here. Goldberg vs Reigns could be a great little match if handled right, but I do agree with the sentiment that they overdid it with The Fiend and built him up so much that a quick squash was rubbish. Also, that video is clearly setting up for Dr. Disrespect vs The Undertaker at WrestleMania.
  16. While not quite reaching the heights of their G1 match, Shingo vs Ishii was another stellar match between the two.
  17. A lot of really good choices there. I'm gonna throw in Shota Umino, Ren Narita, Momo Watanabe, and El Barbaro Cavarnario, aside from obvious choices like Okada or Kento.
  18. Great show. Suzuki/Moxley was MOTN and just a great brawl. Naito/KENTA felt a bit like an inferior version of Naito/White at WK, still good mind you but could have been better. Lee/Takahashi could have been an all-time great sprint if they trimmed everything down to 15 minutes, but it was still a great match.
  19. There's a reason Omega had a lot of hype coming into AEW and it's not just from the Okada series. His series of matches with Ishii, Naito, and Tanahashi all also received a lot of acclaim along with a lot of stellar one-off matches such as the Jericho, Ibushi, and Goto matches just to name a few.
  20. Okada/Taichi was great, with Taichi being the star of the show. Don't think it's his best, I think the G1 Naito match and the Ishii trilogy were all better, but it's certainly up there. Loved ZSJ/Ospreay, thought it was Match of the Weekend, but have it slightly behind their RevPro match.
  21. I believe strongly that it always takes two to make a great match, but this is the exception to that rule. Shark offered barely anything here, there was nothing particularly great about her offense or her selling, but Kudo's performance here saved the match and actually made it great with some fantastic selling and great comebacks after being brutalised for a long period of time. The outside interference didn't really hurt the match for me, though I can see why people would be so down on it. This is by a country mile Shark's best match and a pretty damn great match overall.
  22. They tried hard in making this a classic, but 11 minutes with the Junior style just isn't enough and as a result, everything feels rushed and like they were trying to blow through all of their signature offense. Did not like how quickly Ishimori shrugged off KUSHIDA's usually devastating right hand of God and the finish was incredibly abrupt. Despite still being a good match, this was the one match on the card that needed time.
  23. My top 20 is in the spoiler Gone through as much wrestling in 2018 as I possibly could, disappointed that there was no Joshi or Lucha on the list but there were no standout matches really.
  24. An absolute epic. I respect Tanahashi a lot for his willingness to work match styles that he dislikes, so I love the fact that Omega worked a Tanahashi match this time around. I've seen a lot of criticisms about the opening 20 minutes, or Omega's leg selling but I think they were both done perfectly. The whole story of the first half of last year for Tanahashi was that he was old and past it, and that he was struggling to keep up, so having Omega absolutely dominate the opening with really vicious offense really reinforced this. Tanahashi's legwork felt less like he was trying to pull a submission out, and more like he was targeting that leg to weaken Omega's offense and swing the advantage his way. Whether you like Omega's leg selling really comes down to what people feel about the selling style in general of New Japan, which I love. He never slowed the match pace down to the point of tedium, and it would often cause him problems in trying to make a pin after a move. There was also more than one occasion where his leg slowed him down enough for Tanahashi to take advantage and counter a move. I also loved the story about the clash of styles. Tanahashi was willing to deviate from his usual offense and use a table, to his own detriment, and Omega never settled for a count-out and wanted to win decisively. Better than last year's main event, not quite as good as WK10's or WK11's, but not far off either.
  25. I always love doing lists like these and seeing other people's choices. For variety's sake I had no duplicates, and keep in mind that I'm a relatively new wrestling fan and haven't seen nearly as much 60s-80s as I have wanted to, and that I've only recently gotten into lucha libre.
