I had no real excitement for anything on this show. That was a top 10 Wrestlemania show for sure. That show had no business being that great.

Oney does this match with big guys... the Lars Sullivan one from 2017 is a work of art. Kross managed to bungle this one with his sloppy, week looking offense. This was the match that made me realize I Kross doesn’t do it for me because he was hand-fed a beast match from Oney and he refused to hold up his end. This match also, marks the last time I’m getting Excited about an NXT match.

The match suffered before the finish but I thought it went off better than I expected anyhow. Omega comes out looking like an asshole and Moxley looks like a survivor. AEW can talk themselves out of it. That’s fine. This is pro-wrestling and pro-wrestling is Eddie Kingston’s life. He’s gonna come out of this just fine. I read folks saying this “ruined” him. Honestly, if the cameras had’ve shot it better, I don’t think the conversation would be exactly the same. I’m not dwelling on this moment. This was a transitional PPV from the get-go. Let’s move on.

Christian feuded with Randy Orton in 2020? That does not ring a bell at all for me.

I don’t like the open-roof, I don’t like the possibility of pinfall decisions, and I don’t like WarGames being a date on a calendar. That’s all it was in WCW most of the time and that’s all it is now. NXT at least WANTS to do them and wants to make them creative (WCW had no real interest in that in the later ones). As with all of nxt, I appreciate that they’re trying to do something, but what they are doing isn’t for me.

I went to WarGames last year and while it was exciting in the moment, I didn’t leave feeling like I’d seen anything special. That’s how I feel in general about these new WarGames matches. I could watch the first one, ‘91 and ‘92 over and over and still have excitement. But these modern incarnations feel shallow. Even more so than the not-so-good WCw ones.

I appreciate a good hot take. For my tastes, I’m all about Thatcher. Now he’s not a guy I’d build a company around but I love watching him in the ring and his selling and facials are just perfect. I enjoy Pete Dunne in the right context. I can’t say he’s ever going to be my cup of tea but I can say he’s a heck of a lot better than somebody like Gargano

I love that Thatcher got some hard-way blood after a War Games match that had no blood. I had a lot of fun with that match, and I don’t like coming here and seeing the good name of Tim Thatcher disparaged. NXT usually bores me to tears but not Thatcher.
