  1. That's why I'm going with monthly TV specials to allow me to play my strengths
  2. The thought is that ECW is a small local indie promotion on a local station so a ppv model would just be an expense that would probably bankrupt them as soon as the first takes place cause only a local audience would know about it an see it. That and the fact I don't have any big names that could attract a ppv audience so it's a case of start small aim big
  3. Sports Channel Philadelphia is about to enter the squared circle. News coming out of the offices of both Sports Channel Philadelphia and Eastern Championship Wrestling (ECW) have an agreement that will see ECW air a weekly 1 hour TV show to air at 10pm on Fridays starting January 11th 1991. Along with a monthly 2 hour Special that will air 1 Saturday each month. ECW owner Todd Gordon has announced that to kick off this huge deal will be a special Double header weekend. With the January 11th 1991 ECW Harcore TV show to be a special preview show to bring the fans up to speed ahead of the first TV Special that will air the following night on January 12th 1991 and will be called ECW A New Era Begins and will emanate from Viking Hall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Tickets for that event are on sale now. Todd also has announced that on January 12th at ECW A New Era Begins, the ECW heavyweight title will be on the line as Dory Funk Jr. challenges ECW heavyweight champion Johnny Hotbody, (who since winning the title in September 1990 has spent most of his time hiding in West Virginia. Due to his contract issues due to him working in West Virginia.) Should Hotbody lose he will leave ECW however should he retain his contract demands will be met. Also up for grabs will be the ECW Tag Team Titles, as Champions The Rotten Brothers, Ian & Axl defend against the Batten Twins. Also set to appear are The Original Sheik, Jim Powers, The Moondogs, Scott Putski and the Public Enemy.
  4. ECW signs the 'Wrestling Warrior' Chris Walker.
  5. Hi everyone, Happy New Year I've been thinking and in wanting to do an authentic ECW I was wondering if anyone would mind me starting of as Eastern Championship Wrestling and becoming Extreme at a later date. As I'm planning on starting my ECW of just like the real ECW were the TV deal came after the promotion had been running for a period of time and earned the TV deal and thus certain things can already be in place. Any and all feedback on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
  6. Looks awesome
  7. Now that was a Starrcade to remember. You had everything a fan would want from the biggest show of the year. From giants colliding to tag team wars, title matches that had a big show feel. From a match classic between 2 mat masters to a Russian chain war. To show closing big time title steel cage match by the 2 top stars for the world title. Great show can't wait to see what's next
  8. A strong Christmas night show. Nice to see JYD getting a big win by becoming the new Southeastern champ. Gives the promotion a good footing as his star power will make them seem like a big deal with the wrestling press and local fans.
  9. One of the finest booked 1 night tournaments I've seen. Lawler looksike a man on a Misson to take back the number 1 spot at all costs. Rich turning heel is an interesting turn of events that freshens up Rich and gives Lawler a big time feud that isn't for a title. As for the Scott Steiner he looks like a beast and a force to reckon with in his showcase night and I agree with the Boston Crab finisher showing off some of his technical side and proving he's not just a powerhouse makes him seem an even bigger deal
  10. Love your shows plenty happening in such a short show. Your proof that not every territory in the wars needs big names or long shows to produce a worth while show that keeps people tuning in each week to see what happens.
  11. That's great thanks I will have a look
  12. Any body know of any where I can find ECW Hardcore tv as I'm wanting to start watching it from the beginning but can only find a some of the episodes on YouTube. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
  13. No worries. In that case ECW would like to sign Louie Spicoli and Jim Powers if they are both free please
  14. If Joey maggs and jumping Jim brunzell are free as of now can ecw sign them please
  15. Merry Christmas from England and can't wait to take things to the Extreme with my version of E C W
  16. Sorry I missed that too. With the dropping of downtown Bruno and Johnny Hot Body can I pick up Louie Spicolli and Sir Oliver Humperdink.
  17. Feel free to run with it if you want
  18. The USWA World Title is full of potential Contenders and Lawler sure is enjoying the power to choose his next challenger although it has to be just a matter of time before it comes back to haunt him. The Night of Tag Team action is shaping up to be a fun night of action that could see the aftermath felt for many months to come.
  19. Love the old school promos to kick start SMNE. Gives it a true feel of 1990s WWF. Action packed Battle Royal opener that made look like an absolute animal. Intrigued to see what's next for Prichard in his hunt for IC gold. Great interview by the Outlaws. Funk is pure gold here. No surprise that the Genius has to cheat to win. As English man seeing the announcement by Elton John about Wembley and him singing God Save the Queen brought a smile to my face. Dustin's in experience mixed with Funks branding Iron surely means this feud isn't over by any means. Pure vintage Heenan next although it appears that not all is well within the family. It's Kings Court chaos next which allows for Haku to keep his crown. Looks like the Warrior has his eyes on the crown. Some intriguing matches set for the first round of the King of the Ring tournament although I find it interesting that the reigning King Haku isn't anywhere to be seen. The Bees book there place for a huge tag Title showdown in England. Overall great show featuring everything you could want from a Saturday Night's Main Event.
  20. UWF signs Anthony Durante aka pitbull 2
  21. UWF (Mid South) sends Woman back to CWA
  22. Good strong old school Saturday Night's Main Event feel with all the action and stars that we love from the WWF. Can't wait to see what the King of the Ring brings.
  23. The UWF sends Ted Petty and Pez Whatley to the AWA in return for Bobby Fulton and Tommy Rogers The UWF releases Trevor Blanchard and signs Skandor Akbar.
  24. UWF Power Pro Wrestling #1 Wednesday January 3rd 1990 Tulsa Convention Center, Tulsa, Oklahoma The show begins with the classic UWF intro featuring a mix of arenas from around the UWF area mixed with action shots of the stars of the UWF. We then cut to the desk as we see Cowboy Bill Watts. Bill Watts - Hello, wrestling fans. Cowboy Bill Watts here and I would not only like to wish all the fans of the UWF a very happy new year but would also like to welcome you to this very special year in review, edition of Power Pro Wrestling. Jim Ross is away on assignment this week and will return next week. So lets get started by taking a special look at all the build to the huge USWA title match that took place at the huge USWA show WrestleWar 1989. We got the a video package, looking at the build to the big showdown between Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler and ‘Mr. Perfect’ Curt Hennig, before joining the match in progress. As we cut the action we see Lawler has Hennig in a front face lock. Hennig regains control with his signature offense, including a running neck snap and a standing dropkick. Lawler fires back with a barrage of punches, his infamous right hand drawing gasps from the crowd. The action spills to the outside, where Lawler throws Hennig into the ring post, targeting his weakened arm. Hennig barely beats the referee’s count back into the ring. The final stretch is filled with close calls and heart-stopping moments. Lawler lands his patented second-rope fist drop for a near-fall, but Hennig kicks out at the last second. Hennig counters a piledriver attempt with a back body drop, stunning Lawler and setting up for the Perfect Plex. He executes the move perfectly, but Lawler barely manages to get a foot on the rope, breaking the count. Both men are visibly exhausted, their bodies showing the effects of the grueling match. The Time keeper informs the live crowd that there is 5 minutes remaining of the time limit. With the clock ticking down, both men throw everything they have into the closing moments. Lawler drops his straps, signaling he’s ready to end it. He lands a brutal series of punches and sets up for another piledriver. Hennig counters with a small package for a dramatic two-count. Hennig tries a sunset flip, but Lawler sits down for his own near-fall. In the final seconds, Lawler climbs to the second rope for one last fist drop, but the bell rings just before the referee can count to three. The crowd erupts in both cheers and boos as the announcer declares the match a 60-minute time-limit draw. Both men are sprawled on the mat, exhausted but defiant. Lawler argues with the referee, claiming he had the match won. Hennig, holding his injured arm, shakes his head and points to himself, mouthing, “I’m still the best.” The ring announcer informs everyone that the timelimit has expired therefore this match is a draw. We then cut to the hallway as we see Jerry “The King” Lawler, Jerry Jarrett, “Mr. Perfect” Curt Hennig and Bill Watts. Jerry Jarrett asks Mr. Perfect to call it. Curt Hennig: Tails… Jerry Jarrett flips a coin in the air. We see him catch it and slap it on his wrist. He reveals it to be tails. Hennig cheers with joy as Lawler argues that this is not how a title should be won. Jarrett says its the only fair way to do it given that this couldn’t be settled within the timelimit. Bill Watts and Curt Hennig take the title and make for the door. We then cut back to the studio. Watts - As you just saw following that epic 60 minute time limit draw it was decided that a coin flip would decide who would be the first USWA Heavyweight champion. When we come back we will see what all the fall out from the match that led to the rematch at the Last Stand. - Commercial Time Out - Watts - Well come back fans. Following the outcome of the epic time limit draw at USWA Wrestle War, Jerry Lawler was not happy with this and challenged Curt Hennig to a rematch. Hennig accepted the match but refused to return the Memphis area for the defence. Lawler desperately wanting the match agreed to the terms and the USWA officials announced that there would be a joint event called The Last Stand which would take place from both the Cajundome in Lafayette, Louisiana and the Mid-South Coliseum in Memphis. The entire event was so big that it had to be simal cast between the 2 venues. Lets now take you to the closing moments of this match, We go to the Cajundome, after Lawler had connected with the middle rope fist drop, he connected with the piledriver and went for the pin. Referee saw Lawler cover Hennig but that was all as the lights went out. We now have a strobe light flashing…. “The Madness is Here,” The Madness is Here” Those watching in Memphis are confused as this saying has been repeated after each Undertaker interview and they thought it was linked to him. The lights come back on and Lawler is still covering Hennig. The ref is still set to begin the count …. But unbeknownst to the three in the ring, there is a figure is now perched atop the rope behind where the cover is about to take place. 1….. A gasp comes over the crowd as the recognize the figure on the top rope…. 2…. It is Randy Savage and he leaps…… The ref’s hand begins to fall for the third time….. WHAM…. Savage has just hit his famous elbow drop on Lawler and Lawler rolls off of Hennig. Savage is all over Lawler! Eventually, the locker room empties and Savage, who is like a madman, is finally pulled off of Lawler! We go back to the Studio. Watts - As you saw there, Curt Hennig is still USWA Heavyweight Champion and on the subject of the USWA Title next week here on UWF Power Pro Wrestling we will see a huge 15 man over the top rope Battle Royal to find out who receives the next shot at ‘Mr. Perfect’ Curt Hennig. Now let’s take a special look at the UWF Tag Team Title picture. We see a video package of Doom’s appearance on Memphis TV, were they confronted the Jimmy Hart, Honky Tonk Man & Greg Valentine, that led to the UWF Tag Team Titles been defended in a Cajun Street fight at USWA WrestleWar. Followed by Highlights of the match including the finish of the match. We then go to Bill Watts in the studio. Watts - Well as you just saw that sissy Jimmy Hart and his two goons, commit theft when they stole the UWF tag team titles from Doom. When we come back from this short time out we will see what went down in the rematch at the Cajundome at the Last Stand. - Commercial Time Out - Watts - Welcome back wrestling fans. Now before the break we saw how that sissy, Jimmy Hart helped Greg Valentine and the Honky Tonk Man steal the UWF Tag Team Titles from Doom. The UWF Championship Committee wasted no time at all in making the rematch for the Cajundome for The Last Stand. Now lets go to footage of the match. We cut to footage of the rematch. Reed and Simmons start hot but Hart is able to trip up Simmons for the first momentum change. This seems to be the pattern of the match as neither Long or Hart will be outdone in the dirty tactic department. In the end, we see Reed hit the Military Press Slam on HTM and it looked like we were going to have new champs but Jimmy Hart, risking life and limb came crashing down on the Reed from the top rope causing the immediate DQ. While Hart did save the title, he and his First Family did take a bit of a beating in the brawl that ensued. We then return to Watts in the studio. Watts - Well fans as you just saw that little sissy Jimmy Hart once again stuck his nose in and cost Doom the tag titles. Well I can assure you that there will be 1 more match between those two teams. Hopefully we can give you more information next week. Now lets take a look at another heated rivalry here in the UWF and that is the one between Jimmy Jack Funk and The Worlds Strongest Man Bill Kazmaier. One that started when Funk decided he wasn’t happy, in just getting a victory over Tim Horner but he decided to keep attacking him following the match until Bill Kamaier made the save. Ever since then these two men have been fighting at every given chance. Reaching what many thought was the pinnacle of this heated rivalry at the Last Stand but how wrong was we. Now lets take a look at what went down. We cut to the footage. Jimmy Jack starting fast as a result of attacking before the bell. Kazmaier, due to his power soon gets to wrestle from the top and in the third and final stage, Funk managed to toss the big man out of the ring where all hell seemed to break loose, Funk nailed Kazmaier with anything that wasn’t nailed down… from chairs, to the actually ring bell, Funk was like man possessed. In the end we get three things. First, a Double Count-out as a result of the chaos. Second, a bloody Kazmaier and third… A very angry Wild Bill. Funk seemed to notice the change in the big man, and decided it was smarter to head for the exit rather than risk Kazmaier getting his hands on him. As Funk headed up the aisle, we see Kazmaier shake the cobwebs off and race after Jimmy Jack. Watts - As you just saw this is far from over between these men and i personally wonder what it will take for this to be over and indeed just what levels Funk will have to sink to in order to put Kazmaier down long enough to get the win. When we come back from this commercial time out we will take a special look at some of the new stars to have arrived at the UWF. - Commercial Time Out - When we come back from break we see a video package of some of the hot new stars in the UWF, The Steiner Brothers, Bruce Hart, Sam Houston and ‘The Pitbull’ Gary Wolfe. We then go back to the studio and Bill Watts. Watts - Well ladies and gentlemen as you just saw some of the great new talent coming in to the UWF, with more fresh young talent yet to make there debuts. 1990 is shaping up to be another great year for the UWF. Now I would like to finally turn our attention to the UWF Title picture which has had a few troubled few months, following the brutal attack on then UWF Champion Blue Demon Jr by the heinous Damein 666 which saw Damien break the ankle of Demon Jr, forcing him to have to relinquish the title. Now as you may well be aware as a result an 8 man tournament took place in which new comer to the UWF ‘Nature Boy’ Buddy Landell some how manage to get a spot in the tournament and was able to over come the odds and with his feet on the ropes defeat Pez Whatley to become champion. Following the match Kerry Von Erich was named number one contender however Landell thought that been champion meant he could pick and choose his opponents however the UWF championship committee decreed that Landell would indeed face Von Erich at The Last Stand in the Cajundome. So let’s take a look at what went down. We cut to the footage of the match. The match begins with a test of strength, with Buddy Landell using underhanded tactics to gain the upper hand early. Landel works over Kerry's arm and back, trying to wear him down and prevent him from using his powerful moves. Kerry Von Erich fights back with a flurry of punches and dropkicks, thrilling the crowd. Landel manages to regain control with a sneaky eye rake and starts targeting Kerry’s legs to take away his mobility. After enduring a grueling submission hold, Kerry powers out and sends Landel into the ropes. He catches him with a spinning discus punch, aka "The Tornado Punch," sending Landel reeling. As Landel stumbles back, dazed from the punch, Kerry clamps on the Iron Claw, his signature move. Landel struggles but ultimately collapses to the mat. The referee checks on Landel, raising his arm three times, and it drops each time. The referee calls for the bell, declaring Kerry Von Erich the winner to the roaring approval of the crowd. This is then followed up by a locker room celebration with Von Erich, The Steiner Brothers, Brady Boone & Tim Horner as Jim Ross tries to conduct an interview with Kerry as the other stars spray champagne over Kerry’s head. We then cut back to Watts in the studio. Watts - There you have it ladies & gentlemen. Kerry Von Erich is your UWF Heavyweight Champion as we start off a new year and a new decade. That wraps up this special year in review addition of UWF Power Pro Wrestling. Jim Ross will be back here next week and with that on behalf of myself and everyone here at the UWF I would like to wish you all a happy new year.
  25. Great recap and review show Superclash is going to be huge.
