Okada breaking out the Hoganesque big boot.

Danielson preventing hair grip advantage with the braids, ok.

This is an odd trios match.

Undertaker managed to feud with his own kayfabe brother twice with Kane and Brian Lee. There have also been brother-in-law matches like Buddy Rose vs. Matt Borne, Bret Hart vs. Davey Boy Smith, Hunter vs. Shane.

Cena had a fantastic match with Sabu when we're talking about the wide range of his opponents, he really seemed to be able to work with almost anybody. There is worth in being a great tv worker like Cena was. Memorable tv matches with Rey and Cesaro. In some ways, Cena is like Bret where the formula always seemed to bring out the best with his opponent. Cena evoked more crowd emotion and drama in his matches than Brock. In that regard, Cena is like Bruno. Part of that is JC's babyface appeal, whereas Brock is a natural heel bully and more about dominance and violence. It is harder to sympathize with Brock, but his recent "Cowboy" Brock run proved he has impressive babyface upside. VKM made the correct decision to never turn Cena heel. I liked that Cena kept adding moves like the slingshot stunner and the Cenacanrana to his arsenal, although I think some fans thought it was pandering too much to the indies. His top rope fame asser/leg-drop I thought always looked high risk and awesome. However, Cena was the loudest, most egregious spot caller I've ever heard in a ring for his entire career, which is a point for Lesnar. It's as though Cena wanted to show who was leading the match. Cena had a lot of cornball humor in his promos but that was an element of his good guy charisma. When he needed to be serious, Cena was a star at getting up in anybody's face and not blinking.

That's fair. I am confused because in the Punk/Jericho thread, Punk as a draw in UFC was brought up. Brock did over a million buys with UFC. It felt with Punk the choice was about quality "footage", but then Cena crushes Brock because of his quantity and consistency? Which Jericho clearly has over Punk? So what does PWO actually value more? There are some semantics involved here between "better career" and "who is better" and how the question is being interpreted. @DMJ did such a good write-up on Cena that it might've influenced the voting.
-
PWO is talking about Tana on here like he's Randy the Ram. He didn't look that bad, I didn't think Swerve had to carry much. It was a pretty basic tv match with Tana popping the crowd with the guitar stuff. Even in a broken down state, I believe Tanahashi is an asset in the ring. I tend to like the older phase of legends but maybe I am sentimental.

Alright, I'll stop making these landslide polls. Just like Jericho/Punk, I thought people loved Lesnar a lot more. Damn(!), 10 to 1 for Cena?! Hookay...point taken. I'm doing a poor job of phrasing the question. I consider UFC as part of Brock's canon/career, it is so close to wrestling. Who voted for Brock? Speak up, make your case. Brock got the title at 25, Cena at 27 years old. Both of them had terrific matches with Bryan. Brock did take a huge break, however he has started to make up ground during Cena's time in Hollywood. This is Brock Lesnar we're talking about, Cena's blowing him out like he's Sid or something.

Ya know, I thought about that. Still, the latter two were recent high profile matches featuring brothers. Dustin and Cody were a major part of AEW getting off the ground. The Briscoes cinematic match got a lot of acclaim. A lot of fans had those matches on their MOTY lists. Ian and Axl Rotten were kayfabe brothers but another well known sibling rivalry nonetheless.
-
What about Bret and Owen? Dustin and Cody? Mark and Jay Briscoe? It can work.

Most excellent analysis, @DMJ. Covered a lot of ground, I forgot about the Rusev series. Speaking of "dream matches" WWE seemed acutely aware of time running out for Cena as a regular and ran through a bunch of them before his semi-retirement: a RAW match against Balor, a Smackdown! match against Nakamura (Nak nearly killed him with a backdrop), and a match vs. Roman on a short build for a B-show (No Mercy 2017 - I can't believe it's been 5 years already!). Another quick point is that both Cena and Brock have shown a willingness to get squashed on a grand stage (Cena vs. Brock at SummerFest, vs. Undertaker at Mania and Brock vs. Goldberg at Survivor Series). They both have main evented WrestleMania 5 times each. It's crazy to think how Brock squashed The Rock, squashed Hogan, squashed Cena and ended the streak. Wow, this isn't an easy call. I'll always remember Brock totally annihilating Jeff Hardy with a steel chair shot upon his debut. As @DMJ stated, Lesnar's probably more fun to watch. I wrote up this poll while at work, so I'll elaborate more as votes and replies come in.

The clear cut 1-A and 1-B of their generation. Both possess many, many outstanding moments and matches on their resumes. Many considered their 2012 match a MOTD candidate. Brock was probably the bigger draw of the two by the numbers, Cena being the consistent ace of the promotion for 20 years. I'd say Cena is more famous than Brock, it's close. Cena is the better promo, although I've been very entertained by Brock's most recent babyface return without Heyman on the mic, it has definitely added another layer to his legacy and historical ranking. Ultimately, I opted for Cena but I'd like to hear some other opinions.

Wasn't Matt the one who originally reached out to Punk about joining AEW?
-
For all the consistency discussion, Punk's had some duds as well. Mostly notably, his feud with The Rock really messed the mark and it was awkwardly bad. Not only that, but he pissed Rock off behind the scenes right off the bat (I think they patched it up quickly, but not a smart move for a such a big deal). Punk's reign with the WWE title was long and not particularly great. Solid matches with Del Rio, Ziggler, and a great tv one with Cesaro. Not bad, but I don't think you're gonna highlight those matches to the grandkids. Didn't elevate anybody else involved. As I said earlier, he killed Ryback's career. The Jericho feud isn't fondly remembered. I'd have to revisit the Danielson matches with AJ and Kane involved, I don't recall them being anything special. You have the Cena matches, Brock and Taker (which featured Punk covering himself in Paul Bearer's ashes for the build) as far as Punk's peak in the WWE. His ECW run was pretty good, the Hardy feud was great and the stuff with Rey, but Punk still had to repackage himself after all that through SES/Nexus/Raw commentary and was lost in the shuffle until his second big push (slimmed down, short hair, more tattoos, Heyman, "The Pipebomb"). Cena noted in his promo that it took Punk a long time to break into the upper card.

Knight coming across like a physical threat isn't a problem for me. If this dude ran up on you screaming "LET ME TALK TO YA" at your kid's soccer game, I would advise getting away from him. My issue with Knight more lies with his lack of spots in the ring...what are they exactly? What's his finisher? I've been aware of him for years and I couldn't tell you any of his signature moves at all. The other thing is that he's just too derivative of The Rock and Stone Cold, I halfway expect him to break out into "If ya smeeeellllllll...." every time he cuts a promo.

Greyson Waller is 33 and I don't think is as good as Theory.
-
Haha come on, man! He's only 25! A-Town Down! Seriously, Theory's still only in his "blue chipper/die rocky die" phase. Who else do they got under 30 aside Dom and Rhea? Butch? Logan Paul is 28. Solo is 30.

*Welp, I was dead wrong. Punk returned ready to open fire with pipebombs galore. His shirt was a rad tribute to Piper, I might have to order it. Like Bret, Punk has a skill of making these feuds feel extremely personal. If CMFTR vs Elite doesn't happen, that's on Cowboy and the Bucks. We want Punk vs Omega, yet his unresolved issues really remain moreso with Page. Omega has never said anything about Punk publicly. I think the promo made it clear Punk is willing to do business. But I agree with a lot of the points already made here. Why didn't he take the title out of the bag? Tf? *As I said earlier, I would've preferred a new voice and/or more color for Collision. KK and Nigel are a bit by the numbers. Is the heel role not a thing anymore in wrestling commentary? Graves is the last one I can think of and he's a face commentator now, too. I think Callis would be great but he's more needed as a manager. *Damn, I somehow missed they're doing MJF vs Tanahashi at FD. I would've liked a little bit of build or something for that. Still hyped.
-
AEW announced today that JR, Nigel McGuiness and Kevin Kelly will be the commentary team for Collision. Seems a bit dry, maybe could use some color. AEW doesn't seem keen on using heels in the booth.

I recall when Cole got very bloated during his indy farewell before NXT. There was a "fat" Cole meme going around. He also had a large lump on his forehead and was looking rough. By the time he showed up in NXT, he was shredded and super tan.

They are telegraphing JD McDonagh joining with Judgment Day. I wonder if they will swerve and kick Balor out of the group rather than Damian Priest as expected. It would appear redundant having McDonagh and Balor in the same faction being so similar in their size, look and background.

Very split crowd for/against LA Knight on pWo.

@DMJ - Theory could possibly end up Ziggler'd, I can totally see that comparison. I think Theory's push was way bigger out of the gates than DZ, by going over Cena at Mania and getting the rub from VKM onscreen. I dig Theory's confidence, his energy. He has a good sense of humor, maybe putting The Way back together will bring that out again. Theory hasn't been turned babyface yet, we haven't seen that side of him. Although, I think he's a good heel, too. It's difficult to say what exactly "Theory" is, his ring attire is kind of sci-fi or something, they need to figure it out. - WWE needs to get over this "selfie" phone gimmick, enough is enough and it's time for a change. Tyler Breeze, Theory, now they got Waller doing it. Nobody has gotten over with it. - I was going to bring up what you said, Roman having another decade or more in front of him if he wants it. They've still got time with their current A-List. I probably should've included Lashley on that because he is a semi-main eventer. - Bron Breakker needs a new name. Felt like a placeholder from the start, they already have a Braun on the main roster, along with Bronson Reed. He needs the Steiner name, we all know he's a Steiner. We just went through this with Cody trying to get over not as Dusty's kid and wasting a lot of time in the process, they can't get around it. EDIT: Then again, his dad got into some hot water recently so maybe that isn't a great idea atm. Regardless, the name needs an upgrade. They've already worked aspects of the DFG into his look. Maybe a slight adjustment, I could be wrong about the name being an issue right now. - Interesting point of how the Rey/Danielson undersized underdog role has to be recycled. Like @DMJ says, maybe Darby could be one of those guys down the road. - Gunther's great, I didn't include him because I don't think he has much potential as a babyface or merch sales driver.

Who is WWE's next wave of main eventers? They got lucky with Cody, before he arrived there wasn't anybody at Roman's level on the horizon. It looked somewhat dire. They've pretty much kicked McIntyre to the curb after Cody came in . Cody saved WWE. I still feel like HHH hasn't had a "hit" yet in terms of making a star. NXT has failed to build any momentum onto the main roster. The indies have dried up. They still have Brock and Edge, Orton's in limbo, Rey Jr, AJ, occasionally Cena, and Rock/Austin/Hogan/Goldberg might have one...more...match in the tank (although I don't think they're interested in Hogan or Goldberg's retirement). Bad Bunny and Logan Paul are headliners (and assuming that Jake Paul will also eventually come into the promotion). Bray Wyatt is getting new writers. I really like Theory, I think he will get there eventually. Gable Steveson I think will be a star. If Riddle can stay out of trouble, the crowd wants to cheer him. Rhea is pretty much there, so close. Montez Ford could get there. There's some talent in AEW/NJPW who could follow Cody's path and make a leap to be elevated with WWE (MJF, Ospreay, Omega, Okada). Potential UFC crossovers (Izzy, Colby, Conor). Who is the "next face" of WWE after Roman, Cody, Becky and Charlotte?

I remember when they tried to co-opt the Yes! chants for Big Show. In retrospect, it made the fans want Bryan more. In defense of Rollins, I'm not surprised his current gimmick is over. There is a Willy Wonka/Mad Hatter babyface charm to it. Bright, abstract fashion. Seth always had the stuff in the ring, a flashy moveset. The laugh is an echo of "Broken" Matt. Seth is married to Beck with a kid, so there is a lot of goodwill from fans there. The various homages with his ring gear is fan friendly. Sometimes, if I squint hard enough, I see some of Randy Savage's madness in it.
