  1. Good grief, 150 emails? Jeeeezus get a grip, fellas.
  2. Steveson got serious heat instead of Dom's chickenshit heat. NXT crowd was rallying around Baron Corbin of all people like he was '84 Hogan. You know they figured Corbin was hated enough that it would protect Gable lol. I think Steveson is going to be a star eventually, like it or not, however I agree with @KawadaSmile that it looked very much like his pro debut.
  3. Obviously, the booking and execution of Brawl for All was horrible. I wish we had gotten a BCC/Lion's Den type of stable with Shamrock, Severn, Blackman and Dr. Death instead. Regal was a hot mess, but it could've spared us of the Man's Man gimmick if he were involved. Tazz is another name that might've fit into this group down the line, possibly a mouthpiece for it. They were already running with gang warfare, another faction would have fit. They had the Lion's Den match concept that is still being used today.
  4. Okay, okay...it's totally not a stunner. I didn't realize "the rocket" meant a US Title run, there's a lot of buzz on the guy atm. I was curious how comfortable pWo would be with Knight going over top guys. Perhaps the report has been debunked, but it seemed plausible to me given how Knight is new to the main roster and rapidly moving up the card. Knight's act is so heavily inspired by the Attitude era that it suggests it's where his instincts are in terms of ideas, which I could see being a clash with current creative/times.
  5. When you say "the rocket" how far are you talking? Would you put Knight over Reigns? Cody? Brock? Last week, there was a report Knight already ruffled some feathers in the back and is perceived by some as being politically inept. One wonders if it's over something petty like not asking KO's permission for the stunner.

    Legends' House 2.0

Sunny would be absolutely critical to the show and a lot of it would revolve around her. I've thought about putting another woman like Ivory or Medusa in the mix. Sunny's previous history with Nash (Shawn/Sunny Days) and Cornette (who discovered her and publicly cried over her fall) would be major sources of drama. I would fully expect Virgil (and maybe Hayes) to try and get into her pants. I seriously considered Regal and didn't see the exotic animal angle, that's good shit. He's hilarious and has that "odd couple" energy that works in reality house situations. I do know Regal is sober now, which could be good or bad for the show (I would expect the wine flowing for Nash, Hayes, and Prichard). Of the original cast, I'd probably be most inclined to bring Duggan back to add some babyface energy to the ensemble. He can replace JBL. And I've decided, screw it: Billy Jack's in, Sabu's out. Billy Jack is content. Other names I considered: Greg Valentine, Teddy Long, Vince Russo, Ron Simmons, and Funaki.
  7. They're going to swerve and turn Cole heel instead of MJF?

    Legends' House 2.0

Dude @Ricky Jackson, you get it. BJH in a wig and sunglasses raving about "Adolf Hitler McMahon" being a "pimp" and a "billionaire pedophile" is so unhinged and captivating, it would be amazing television with those other personalities I listed. I've been thinking that Bruce and JBL is redundant because they're both bigmouth, ballbusting Texans. I'll have to come up with a replacement for JBL.

    Legends' House 2.0

Back in 2012, I was obsessed with WWE's Legends' House. I mean, for Christ's sake you had Roddy Piper and Pat Patterson living under the same roof! I don't think WWE could produce another Legends cast that could be as memorable today, however it did get me thinking about who I would want to see together. The original house had 8 people in it and I'll stick to that for my list. If this thread has enough interest I'll elaborate on my picks: Kevin Nash, Sunny, Bruce Prichard, Michael Hayes, Virgil, JBL, Sabu*, and Jim Cornette (impossible but a dream pick lol). *I would've put Billy Jack Haynes in Sabu's spot but he's too mentally ill for a living arrangement like that and WWE would never, ever do it. I'd also consider Perry Saturn or Raven. What would your dream cast be in a 24/7 reality house?
  10. Easy to forget that Bo Dallas's return was lost in the Uncle Howdy debacle. At least WWE recognized there was a problem. New writers ought to help, I've heard fans complain about Bray's promos for years. If Brock and Roman weren't willing to work with Bray there had to be major changes made to the character. LA Knight seemed out of left field as his opponent (was Bray supposed to be heel in that?) but everybody else was tied up and Bray didn't have a lot of options (Rey was feuding with Dom, Edge also tied up with Judgment Day, KO and Sami with the Bloodline, AJ was injured, McIntyre was working on a new contact, and Rollins would've been weird). Knight got over so it wasn't a total loss, I guess.
  11. You may want to hold onto those, I have a feeling the Rock is going to show up. The SAG-AFTRA strike is likely to drag out until at least October. Waller hinted at this and they'll likely do a segment together.

    Odd Couples

I watched an odd WCW tag from Bash '98 yesterday, Hogan and Hart vs. Savage and Piper. Piper and Savage had some chemistry as faces by cutting off the ring with quick tags, but Hogan and Hart was definitely odd to see. ECW didn't shy away from odd couple teams like Guido and Smothers, Doring and Roadkill, or "The Gangstanators" New Jack and Kronus. Oh, and I almost forgot to add Headcheese (Al Snow and Steve Blackman) and T & A (Test and Albert).
  13. Awesome write up, too, @DMJ. You always cover a lot of bases, I really liked your point about Ronda/Alexa. Dungeon of Doom has been cited a couple times, but I also get vibes of Sting vs. Cactus and Jake in WCW. Makes sense to book the match around Halloween. I think it could be a good feud, hopefully Bray comes out of a box.
  14. Bull's eye, @Timbo Slice. Bray was one of "Dusty's kids" and Cody was Bray's on-screen mentor during season two of NXT.

    Odd Couples

Miro and Kip Sabian flopped as an odd couple, a lot of AEW fans were confused by that one.

    Odd Couples

Owen and Jarrett were kinda odd. Both are sons of promoters. There wasn't an explanation that comes to mind other than being guys Austin didn't want to wrestle, while at the same time being managed by Austin's future ex-wife.

    Odd Couples

Right, Dream Team. Good call, they were tag champions as well. Scanning through WWE tag team records: 1-2-3 Kid and Bob Holly won the titles. Ivan Putski and Tito Santana held the belts in the 70s. CM Punk and Kofi Kingston are former champs (I have zero memory of that). The Godfather and Bull Buchanan. Rico and Rikishi are ex-champions. Another thing that jumps out at me is that Austin won the tag titles with basically everyone he feuded with: Undertaker, HBK, Foley, HHH. I don't remember the Rock and Undertaker being tag champions but it happened.
  18. Man, this is wild stuff...I actually had that Galoob Z-Man as a kid (among other figs featured here). Looks like quite a few of these are custom made. I'm jealous of kids today because I think Mattel's style is way better.

    Odd Couples

Heath Slater and Rhyno fit the definition and they kept it going in IMPACT. The Twin Towers were an odd combination of gimmicks, a prison guard from Cobb County teaming with "the African Dream"? Slick's presence made it even odder.
  20. So based on speculation, it sounds like we're going to get the return of Bray Wyatt at SummerSlam to start a program with Cody. Reportedly, WWE hired new writers for Wyatt, and I think Cody is over enough where this might potentially get Bray back on track as a heel. For all the creative successes WWE has enjoyed of late, Wyatt's utter bomb of a return was a significant failure and blemish. A total disaster after all the vignettes they aired, Bray went from getting 10 minute entrances, standing ovations and careless whispers from the Undertaker, to being completely taken off TV. Can Wyatt get back to being a headliner for WWE? It will be interesting to see since they have been on such a hot streak otherwise. They have invested a lot into Wyatt, he has a very close relationship with Vince, and it's important for WWE that he becomes a special attraction.
  21. Starks appeared to still get cheered by the crowd after what Ian estimated to be around 100k in pyro. I'm not sure the turn actually did anything for him one way or another, or if it was even a turn at all. He dodged the question about disrespecting Liger and didn't play that up at all. Punk was getting the heat. The crowd popped for the designer labels Starks was flexing, they want to root for him. I don't know if the heel turn will stick and it depends on his next program.

    Odd Couples

Great picks, @KawadaSmile. Regal is all over this topic as he also won tag titles with Eugene. Hookhausen is another weird AEW team. AJ Styles and Jerry Lynn were the first TNA Tag Team Champions. Big Josh and Ron Simmons won the WCW U.S. Tag Titles. ShowMiz was pretty odd looking back at it.

So great, that one slayed me. I have to add Booker T and Goldust, too. Murdoch and Adonis. Ciampa and Gargano.

    Odd Couples

This is kind of a stretch, but the Hart Foundation were an odd couple when compared to other classic WWF teams like the Killer Bees, Demolition, the Bulldogs, the Rougeaus, the Rockers, the Islanders, the Bushwackers, LOD and The Nasties that were all basically twins and looked nearly identical. Bret was the cool technical wrestler and Anvil the loud bulldozer, very different styles.

    Odd Couples

With Cole/MJF taking off recently as a successful duo, I've been thinking about odd couple tag teams that have gotten over and won championships. WWE obviously loves this trope. Recently, we've had RK-Bro, Asuka and Alexa Bliss. Kane managed to pull off a hat trick with Danielson, the Hurricane and X-Pac. Tajiri did it twice by winning tag team gold with Regal and Mikey Whipwreck. The Rock 'n Sock Connection is the most famous example. There's Owen and Yoko. Austin and Angle had that energy but unfortunately didn't actually tag together. Tony Khan has proven something of a knack for this, although not necessarily in tags, with Daddy Ass and the Acclaimed, Adam Page with the Dark Order being unlikely allies that found a connection. There's probably a million of these I'm forgetting. This isn't about rivals teaming up, but contrasting personalities that found chemistry and clicked together. What are some other memorable odd couples in the fashion of Cole/MJF?
