  1. I don’t want to see Gunther vs Lesnar unless Gunther kills Lesnar.
  2. I’m not concern trolling. I really like Darby, his match with MJF is one of my AEW favorites. He’s like the promotion’s Rey Mysterio, a tiny guy who can still hang with the big guys. But putting yourself in the kind of danger he regularly puts himself in, especially without getting consistently paid for it like an Evel Knievel, is just stupid, and if his fucking around eventually does culminate in him finding out but not dying, he’s going to regret it and resent everybody that enabled him. I’m a nurse, I’m one of the people that has to take care of his ass if he shatters one of his legs or breaks his neck or gets a brain bleed. Moreover, if Darby or Sami paralyze themselves doing something stupid they got the okay to do, or even went into business for themselves but have a history of doing high risk stuff with the company’s tacit or overt approval, Tony is certainly going to regret the impact it will have on his business.
  3. Can AEW do All In now that they own RoH? Weird to me that they wouldn’t be interested in using the title of the most successful independent show in modern history.
  4. There is very little in or out of wrestling I am less interested in than Joey Janela killing himself in hardcore matches with Japanese wrestling stars.
  5. Jericho already has alcohol dizziness at all times, he can’t handle Big Swing dizziness on top of that.
  6. Didn’t see it, but even though I’m super tired of New Day, I would still much rather see them work than any of the individuals or teams in the Best of 7 series.
  7. Darby and Sami are both idiots. Tony needs to impose stricter limits, they obviously will not protect themselves or AEW’s investment in them.
  8. He’s a rich Long Island douchebag, I’m not sure what is contrived about it. He’s a little tryhard with the edgy stuff sometimes, could stand to be a little more creative with how he crafts his insults (Corny said he really needs to get a thesaurus on the most recent pod, which I agree with), but at the same time, given how young he is, I’d say he feels like exactly how he presents himself.
  9. Having said what I said earlier, MJF is quite a bit more comfortable and natural on the mic than Starks. That’s not Starks’ fault, he’s been booked atrociously and not gotten as many self-development opportunities as he should have, but MJF is still his better.
  10. Why would Sasha debut in a tag match against Britt/Hayter when she could debut in a weird feud with Jade as the representative of obscure rapper Bow Wow
  11. I’m absolutely open to Starks as the Stone Cold to MJF’s Rock, or the Dusty to his Flair, or whatever. It’s a shame Tony sucks at booking, Starks has so much potential!
  12. Oh, you guys are always getting on Tony’s case about delegating, and now you’re mad when he does it, and all because he delegated to the guy who got abducted by aliens.
  13. Phones are a genuine problem, and I say this as somebody hopelessly addicted to his phone. The Boomers are always correct to complain about video games and phones.
  14. Does anybody listen to Regal’s podcast? Reddit says he made a comment on there recently about young guys in AEW not listening to advice or taking constructive criticism. Would be curious to hear what he said. People assumed CM Punk’s bitching about that was just ego, but if Regal is saying that in public, I think one has to take that pretty seriously, he doesn’t strike me as the type to bring it up publicly unless it’s a pretty damn prominent problem.
  15. FTR would be fools to go back to WWE unless Triple H is serious about rebuilding the tag team division. AEW doesn’t have a good tag division, but it’s worlds better than WWE recycling the same 5 teams over and over.
  16. It would be a comedy act if Sami didn’t have gobs of charm and pathos. He’s taken the whole thing to a place where the “corpsing” is actually canonical and logical - the Bloodline are into him because he’s funny and likable! People were legit hyped for the “Honorary Uce” shirt and the hug, they felt kinda real despite the ridiculousness because Reigns and Zayn are top-tier performers.
  17. Honestly it’s a damn shame Sami isn’t 6-8 years younger, he would be a perfect candidate for “babyface we can make forever by being the one to unseat Roman”.
  18. I mean it’s quite possible that Trips is willing to pay Tony Khan a lot of money on the down low for William Regal. Regal ain’t doing much for TK.
  19. Corny had a great Tweet about how it’s so strange that Linda is consorting with freaks in her old age while Vince seems happy to stay home and watch birds in his retirement.
  20. Loved that Iran-Great Satan game, so much fun watching Iran play nothing but defense the first half then try and fail to surge in the second. It’s a true shame that America invests so little in soccer, it’s better to watch than almost any sport.
  21. Nothing weirder than when Hogan can randomly kinda go when he goes to Japan, makes you wonder why he couldn’t have had Cena’s weird insecurity of wanting to prove he’s a great wrestler.
  22. Roman was getting booed out of the building everywhere he went, they were petrified of Roman winning in the main event and hit with a tsunami of boos as the fireworks went off. What’s funny is that was actually a fantastic match where Roman was totally getting over as a babyface, but they had no way of knowing that in advance. Roman didn’t really get over consistently as a baby face until he came back from his cancer hiatus.
  23. I mean if Bryan Danielson was having feuds like Punk’s with Kingston with, say, Powerhouse Hobbs, or Ricky Starks, or Swerve, or Takeshita, or even Garcia (in a world where he wasn’t drowning in Jericho bullshit), I don’t think anybody would have an issue with that. If Danielson doesn’t want or care about the title, that’s fine, but I would 10000x rather he tell Ricky Starks that he’s gonna kick his smartass head in than see him wrestle Shibata on Rampage or YouTube.
  24. He’s not “making” younger performers if the context of the matches he’s having with them is not some compelling angle. He had what was regarded as a pretty good match with Daniel Garcia a few months ago or whenever, yet in the light of subsequent history, it’s basically one component of an asinine angle where Garcia is experiencing internal anguish over whether or not he’s “a wrestler” or “a sports entertainer”. (An angle that didn’t even resolve satisfyingly on its own inane terms, by the way!) I’m frankly not sure what about this is so outrageous to you. If it was just a case of him falling victim to the time between Tony running out of his Adderall and when he refills the prescription, alright, he wouldn’t be the first person let down by the scattershot booking. If after he felt nothing in the WM main event he went “Hey, I’m not the young, wrestling-obsessed guy I once was” and just retired to a life of occasional appearances at indie shows, I could totally respect that. But if he’s at a place in his life where he doesn’t value the place of prominence he’s obtained in the industry, doesn’t care whether he’s booked in a compelling way or not, and doesn’t fight to contribute as much as his star power and name recognition has to contribute to this still-young, upstart company struggling with the wrestling equivalent of the sophomore slump? To have been in the main event of Wrestlemania and not stand up to Jericho’s self-indulgent bullshit when you’re involved with him on television? Good on him for getting his bag, but I’m not sure what I’m supposed to be respectful or supportive of in that. I’m sure there’s a portion of his fan base totally happy with him fucking around on Dark and having dream matches of 8 years ago with over the hill New Japan guys, but I ain’t in it.
  25. The notion that we owe Danielson anything if he doesn’t actually value or care to protect the elevation he’s experienced on the industry is far more stupid.
