CM Punk on Colt Cabana's Art of Wrestling
goodhelmet replied to goodhelmet's topic in Publications and Podcasts
None of what you guys are saying is a shock. Punk said the only reason it wasn't done sooner was because when the settlement was finalized, Cabana was in Japan and then Punk was in L.A. Earlier in the year, he said something to the effect of ... 1. Going to write a comic 2. Going to start a podcast. 3. Going to MMA. 2 of the 3 are the truth. Now we know which ones are the truth. Maybe somebody can go find out what the three choices were. -
He recruited "Little Johnny" who's singing disturbed Cena enough to let Bray win that cage match. haha. Forgot about Little Johnny. Well played. Also, Johnny must have some awesome surround sound super speakers that allows guys to get pops that can only be heard in his living room. The most jarring thing I notice about 90% of WWE programming is how quiet and disinterested the live crowd is. Must be my TV set.

I should have been more clear... post Bryan, he recruited nobody and the fans are his followers stuff clearly didn't have legs. Whoever said it earlier that the character has no direction is on point.
-
Um no. He recruited nobody. Nobody was sporting Bray merch. People don't shout for Bray Wyatt during other segments the way they did for Punk and Bryan. They sit there is silence during most of his segments. The shine is gone.

Fando, I agree it would be interesting to hear his take on the subject. I think I know the answer but somebody should ask Austin. -

If anyone, including Fando, thought Austin was going down the medical route, they are deluding themselves. I absolutely agree that the issue is important but it isn't what I expected or anticipated from this interview. I apologize for enjoying the wrestling portion of the podcast. -

As someone who probably wouldn't have passed a wellness test when wrestling, do you really think Austin was going to go down that road? Nah but I'm not gonna get all misty cuz Randy Savage's name was brought up instead either. i don't think anyone here got misty eyed about Savage but Austin's reaction was priceless. Anyway what else would you have asked him about? -
Po st all Austin Vince thoughts in the other thread from here on out.

Austin whiffed on this one giving Vince the easy way out. He ALWAYS puts Cesaro over on his podcast but Austin didn't really put over how over Cesaro was doing the Swing and after winning the Battle Royal and how it was creative's fault for not pushing him as a babyface. I think he let Vince off the hook on this one with bad phrasing and not making a strong argument out of the gate. -

The only thing Austin danced around while trying to make his point on was saying that it was too scripted. He mentioned young guys walking around with paper in their hands and then didn't really go back and harp on it. The best Austin question and facial expression was asking Vince if Randy Savage was going into the Hall of Fame and giving him a look like he didn't belive him when Vince said yes. -
Norman Smiley is #1 and the best. Super awesome to me and Baker a t Axcess a couple of years ago.

There is a thread for the Vince Austin stuff in the podcast section.

Let's keep this in one thread.

Ziggler ' s hair is out of control!!!
-
Harper-Ziggler... Ambrose - Wyatt TLC... Rollins-Cena... TLC could be a strong PPV.

What happened in the opening segment? Also, the last segment with the Miz and Use was great but after a sweet slap, they go back to the Mizdow comedy which is not what that segment needed.

I believe Jericho when he said he didn't have an agenda in reaching out to Punk. I also can understand why Punk interpreted Jericho as wanting him to do the podcast when he reached out since that seems to be the focal point of their interactions prior to Punk leaving. I wonder, if it hasn't been recorded yet, if somebody could ask Punk to address Jericho's response. -
[2013-04-07-NJPW-Invasion Attack] Hiroshi Tanahashi vs Kazuchika Okada
goodhelmet replied to Loss's topic in April 2013
I watched this last night with Johnny P. Man, Tanahashi ripped the shit out of Okada's arm and Okada countering with kicks was a thing of beauty. My only (really minor) gripe is that Tanahashi did such an effective job ripping the arm apart that I thought Okada should not have been able to successfully apply his crossface move the 2nd time around. He hooked it so why didn't Tanahashi just yank at the arm or break out easily like he did the 1st time? It is a small gripe but I really enjoyed this match. Great counters and callbacks to previous matches. It would have been even cooler if Okada won with a boot to the face since Tanthashi had no answer for Okada's kicks but the finish was fine. It isn't my MOTY but it belongs in the conversation for sure. We are going to watch the follow up matches soon. -
