  1. Recently watched a bunch of Rat Pack (Dibiase, Duggan and Borne) matches and angles.. I am loving it.
  2. I don't have that much dedication or Rudo's creativity.
  3. American Dragon
  4. I listened to Styles tonight and I swear... could they not make this guy any more boring? I wouldn't know that was the same Joey Styles I heard on all of my ECW programming. Just another generic announcer with nothing unique about him. The three-man booth reminds me of WCW and how horrible it could be sometimes except I enjoyed the WCW guys MORE.
  5. Which is sad because I thought that Haas would have more upside than any other WWE release. Then again, maybe Haas is one of those locker room cancers and we just don't know about it.
  6. I love listening to old Jim Cornette promos. Look in the Resources section to see some of his gems over the years.
  7. I love Dick Murdoch's trick wind up punch.
  8. OK, after the woman's match, the Vince-Cena segment, the Mama Shelton-Val Venis segment and this lackluster tag, I give up. Experiment aborted.
  9. OK, Lita is absolutely horrible on the mic... some things never change. Cena was def. getting more cheers than boos this night although the boos were very noticeable. Then Cena calls Lita a bitch and the WWE advertises free sex on their program. Can I change the channel now?
  10. With all of the hooplah surrounding last night's show I figured I would do what all of you are doing tonight... watch RAW. I have not seen a RAW episode since the Eddie tribute and have not seen a complete episode since the 2004 draft. So, every half hour or so, I'll make my comments and go from there. First off, the Power Is Back video looks great. Never saw it before and I like the vibe. Also, the New Years Revolution recap should have just saved everyone $30 when planning to order the replay.
  11. This is clearly a reaction to TNA landing Sting and Christian in such a short timespan. If you guys have any other ideas on what triggered this, feel free to let me know.
  12. Mark Lewin
  13. Henry O. Godwin
  14. I would like to strike this match off the list. I rewatched it about a week ago hoping to do a write-up and it isn't that great of a match. Better than about half the DVDVR list but not one of the greatest of all-time to be sure. Great story... lousy execution.

  16. Best response ever! Larry "the Axe" Hennig
  17. And the guy who is the most over on either show (and is a ratings draw)(and sells huge merchandise) is about 5'2 and has zero shot of ever becoming world champion.
  18. The one thing I will say is that the Money in the Bank stipulation was actually upheld. If I were a betting man, I would have bet my life savings that they would have dropped the entire thing 3 months later and never mention it on TV again.
  19. Here is Meltzer's write-up on what happened in the main...
  20. I can't. Look around. I'm not one of those people, but guys like Bix and Phil Schneider and Tom K are constantly praising his indy work as still being really strong. Lawler was never the type of guy who based his act around a bunch of athletic highspots or anything, so it's not like age is going to affect him as a performer in the same way it would someone else. I considered Lawler/Helms the best match on paper because it's the only match on the show that doesn't feature anyone who sucks these days. That kind of reinforces my point. There aren't any good WWF Jerry Lawler matches that we can come up with. If this was a match that, on paper, happened on some indy show in West Virginia, I would agree with you. Still, Helms' WWF work has been subpar. Lawler's WWF stuff has been bad, even embarassing for someone that I love the hell out of. As for the DVDVR guys, for every match they pimp that I love, one of them will throw out a match where I have to ask myself, "What the fuck were they watching?"
  21. Plenty, according to almost everyone who's seen a Jerry Lawler match since he became an announcer, if you count his indy work. Lawler/Helms did indeed look like the best match on the show on paper coming into this. PLease enlighten me to any good Jerry Lawler WWF match. As for his indy work, any help there would be appreciated also.
  22. OK, finally finished Heenan's 2nd book and I was wrong. At times, Bobby's advice does overpower the wrestling parts since I don't really care what he has to say. wrestling stories= good advice= bad If you buy it, at least know what you are getting into. However, I am now eager to pick up the first book so I can hear more of his wrestling stories.
