  1. I don't know man. I wouldn't pay to see the Mulkeys. Maybe... maybe a Mikey Whipwreck scenario but they got the win and we remember them for it. If they won more than once, it wouldn't be as special.
  2. Resurrecting the dead thread here... After watching 12 hours of old NWA on TBS, you really start to feel sorry for the Mulkeys. There must be a dozen matches where they were someone's bitch. Then, the Gladiators show up and the Mulkeys win the only match of their career and the crowd goes batshit (all 40 of them) and the Mulkeys are in disbelief. I saw this when it happened and it still put a smile on my face nearly 20 years later.
  3. I know Ricky Steamboat never played a heel in his career. Has Tully Blanchard ever been a face at the national level? I don't know much about his past previous to the Starrcade era so maybe the wrestling historians can shed some light on the situation.

  9. Agreed, simply because Owen and Davey mathed up well against each other, not with each other.
  10. Good choice esp. since the Blonds were a team that had the potential but never had the backing to be truly great.

  12. I would sub one of the teams with the Fantastics, just don't know which ones yet.
  13. Hell, we could probably eliminate 16 more without debate from anyone. I can't think of one person who would give a vote to La Resistance. Then again, a team we completely overlooked was Benjamin and Haas who worked as hard as anyone in their stint together.
  14. Teams I think everyone might have seen from your list: 3 Count (Shane Helms/Shannon Moore/Evan Karagias) Barry Windham & Dustin Rhodes Booker T & Goldust Brainbusters (Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard) British Bulldogs (Dynamite Kid & Davey Boy Smith) Chris Benoit & Chris Jericho Chris Benoit & Dean Malenko Demolition (Ax & Smash) Doom (Ron Simmons & Butch Reed) Dream Team (Greg Valentine & Brutus Beefcake) (may be too early for most) Dudley Boyz (Bubba Ray & D-Von) Edge & Christian Edge & Rey Misterio Jr (Have no shot of winning) Eliminators (Perry Saturn & John Kronus) Fabulous Freebirds (Hayes/Gordy/Roberts) Fabulous Freebirds (Hayes/Garvin) (have no shot of winning) Fantastics (Tommy Rogers & Bobby Fulton) Gangstas (New Jack & Mustafa Saed) Hardy Boyz (Matt & Jeff) Harlem Heat (Booker T & Stevie Ray) Hart Foundation (Bret Hart & Jim Neidhart) Heavenly Bodies (Tom Pritchard & Jimmy Del Ray) Hollywood Blondes (Steve Austin & Brian Pillman) Ivan & Nikita Koloff Jung Dragons (Kaz Hayashi & Jimmy Yang) La Resistance (Dupree/Conway/Grenier) Los Guerreros (Eddy & Chavo) Midnight Express (Bobby Eaton & Dennis Condrey) Midnight Express (Bobby Eaton & Stan Lane) Miracle Violence Connection (Steve Williams & Terry Gordy) Nasty Boys (Jerry Sags & Brian Knobs) Natural Disasters (Earthquake & Typhoon) New Age Outlaws (Road Dogg & Billy Gunn) Outsiders (Scott Hall & Kevin Nash) Owen Hart & Davey Boy Smith Powers of Pain (Warlord & Barbarian) Public Enemy (Johnny Grunge & Rocco Rock) Raven & Perry Saturn Rick & Scott Steiner Road Warriors/Legion of Doom (Animal & Hawk) Rock & Roll Express (Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson) Rockers (Shawn Michaels & Marty Jannetty) Shawn Michaels & Diesel Smoking Gunns (Billy & Bart Gunn) Strike Force (Rick Martel & Tito Santana) Twin Towers (Big Boss Man & Akeem) US Express (Barry Windham & Mike Rotunda) Vitamin C (Chris Jericho & Christian)
  15. I think there are some great teams on there but we may want to revisit this idea and only pick 32 teams. I have seen most of these teams but have no idea how well the Beverly Bros or the Cuban Commandos worked together. On the flip, teams like Dibiase and Williams or Horner & Armstrong that I have seen are probably not in many people's tape collections.
  16. It also happened to be the only segment I saw since I was in between tape recording at that time. Maybe I missed the big picture because I was genuinely hyped for that segment. With that said, the company is such a jumbled mess, I am more interested in what they are going to do match-wise than any absurd angle they are running.
  17. Exactly! Hell, how many times has that fat f**k insulted someone's appearance to end up looking like he does. When I first read articles on the net abut wrestling I had no idea that the majority of those guys were overweight pimply nerds. I really thougt they would be just normal looking joes. How wrong was I? There is a reason a trash talker like Hyatte never shows his face.
  18. Dude, it may not seem like it but some of us actually have lives. I mean, think about it. I would venture to say none of us look as horrible as that guy and none of us have probably had as many dry spells as him... maybe. I watch and record wrestling obsessively and I bet my life is still more active than his has ever been. I post on this message board like mad but I bet my social life is still healthier.
  19. He also was reviewing all of the U.S. footage at the peak of the wrestling boom. It also doesn't hurt that he was writing for Wrestleline which is how more than one person found their way onto the wrestling internet scene. I know rob and I are two guys who came on that route.
  20. Kawada is right. Despite the dismantling of SK and his shitty writing time and time again, people continue to read him and value his opinion. However, "Tim Cooke and his friends" were right in their argument and SK looked like a bitch when he couldn't respond to any point made. Also, not reviewing RAW because it is a shitty show is no excuse. If he insists on writing shitty recaps, he should be forced to watch shitty wrestling. He gives the shit too much credit and never does justice to the great stuff. he sucks .
  21. I could be wrong but I just caught the tail end of the Jericho-Cena segment and that was the most passion I have seen exhibited by the fans in a long time. I wish this damn lottery was out of the way so we could actually know what direction this company is going in though.

  24. Coincidentally, I just saw a Super Crazy match, as Super Loco, when he was fighting in the Jr. Title tournament held on RAW in 1997. HE blew a spot and I never saw him on TV again. You should have just told him the truth. painkillers and steroids kill. The business is cummy and people do scummy things to stay in it. Yeah, this was how Meltzer felt about this segment. This, along with the Rey match really disappoint me in terms of early online feedback. After reading the results, it really seems like the guys who had no business being entertaining tried the hardest and gave the fans what they came to see. Then you have the workers who couldn't break their habits and make me feel like I would be letdown because of all the mediocre matches I was looking forward to. Yeah, but I guess fact that he spent a short time in ECW was good enough for them. Plus, I am sure many of the fans were going nuts when Sandman drank beer with Austin. As for Foley, I agree with you but would you sacrifice his commentary for this segment?
  25. A guy broke into Baby Doll's apartment last week. She yelled "RAPE!" He yelled, "NO!"
