The World Wrestling Federation is reportedly working on a deal with the Universal Wrestling Federation to send Chris Benoit to Japan for an extended series of tours in what is being described internally as a developmental move aimed at refining his in-ring ability. Benoit, who has recently gained attention on WWF television for his hard-hitting style and technical approach, is seen by many behind the scenes as having significant long-term upside. However, the feeling within the company is that additional seasoning, particularly in the Japanese style, will help elevate him to the next level. Japan has historically been used as a proving ground for younger talent looking to sharpen their skills, and this appears to be a similar situation. One of the key figures pushing for this move is Dynamite Kid, who has taken a strong interest in Benoit’s development. Dynamite is said to see a great deal of potential in Benoit and believes that working tours in Japan will give him the experience needed to fully realize that potential. Given Dynamite’s own background and success internationally, his influence in this decision is said to carry considerable weight. The arrangement with UWF is part of a broader effort by the WWF to establish working relationships that allow talent to gain experience outside of the traditional North American system. Sources indicate that Benoit could be departing for his first tour in the coming months. If the move proves successful, it would not be surprising to see similar arrangements made for other younger talent in the future.

Tito is standing on the buckles with the WWF Championship held high in the air, but that is when this song is heard.] It's RIC FLAIR! Tito looks like he has seen a ghost as Ric Flair is here in the WWF. The arena erupts as Ric Flair struts out in a custom suit, sunglasses on, with that trademark confidence. He slowly makes his way to the ring, soaking in the reaction before stepping inside, asking for a microphone.] Ric Flair: Tito Santana, you said anybody in that locker room could come out here and take a shot at the World Wrestling Federation Championship live tomorrow night on Prime Time Wrestling. Well, let me tell you something, pal, you didn’t just get anybody [Flair pulls off his sunglasses.] You got THE man! WOOOOOO! You see, Tito, I’ve been watching you. I watched you at WrestleMania, I watched you climb that mountain, and I watched you celebrate like you just did the impossible. And I’m gonna give you credit, you earned it. You fought for it. You scratched and clawed your way to the top. But now you’re standing in the ring with a whole different animal. Because when you talk about greatness, when you talk about championships, when you talk about the very best this business has ever seen, you’re lookin’ at him! [Flair steps closer.] I don’t need fourteen years to prove who I am. I’ve been the standard everywhere I’ve gone. I’ve been the man that everybody else tries to measure up to. And tonight I walk into your house, on your show, under your spotlight, and I take what you worked your whole life for. [Flair points at the title.] That championship looks real good on your shoulder, Tito. But it was made for a man like me. So you can talk about heart, you can talk about pride, you can shout ARRIBA all you want, but when that bell rings You’re gonna find out real quick there’s a difference between being a champion and being the Nature Boy. WOOOOOO! [Flair drops the mic and backs into the corner, confidently removing his jacket as the crowd explodes and Tito stares him down, ready for the fight, and it's announced that fans need to tune into Prime Time Wrestling on USA tomorrow night, where this match will happen!}

WWF News and Notes Dick Murdoch Suspended? Ultimate Warrior Return? There was an incident over the weekend involving Dick Murdoch that has caused significant internal issues within the World Wrestling Federation. Murdoch was scheduled to appear at the Worcester, Massachusetts, house show, but ended up no-showing the event without notifying officials in advance. According to multiple sources, the situation appears to stem from Murdoch reportedly being intoxicated the night of the show at the hotel bar. While details vary by who you ask, the consensus backstage is that Murdoch was in no condition to perform and made no effort to contact the office in advance, which immediately put him in a bad position with management. The situation escalated once Murdoch resurfaced, as Gerald Brisco, who has been taking on more responsibility in talent relations, confronted him about the absence. The confrontation is said to have become heated, with Murdoch allegedly brushing off the situation and showing little concern for missing the event. That reaction reportedly did not sit well with Brisco or others present. Word of the incident quickly reached Vince McMahon, who was said to be furious, particularly given the company’s increasing emphasis on professionalism and reliability. Murdoch had been penciled into upcoming television and house show programs, and the no-show created immediate issues for both booking and morale. As a result, Murdoch has been suspended indefinitely. Several sources indicate this is not being viewed internally as a minor disciplinary action, and there is real doubt about whether he will return to the company at all. While nothing has been officially announced, the feeling within the locker room is that Murdoch’s standing has taken a significant hit. In other news, Ultimate Warrior is now expected to return to television in the coming weeks after reportedly coming to terms with the WWF regarding his booking and overall direction. This comes after a period of tension between Warrior and management following WrestleMania, but sources indicate both sides have reached an understanding. While details of his return angle are being kept quiet, the expectation is that he will be reintroduced in a prominent position on upcoming programming. At this point, Murdoch’s future with the WWF remains uncertain, while Warrior’s return could signal a shift in the company’s top-tier landscape heading into the summer.

News and Notes for The WWF The World Wrestling Federation has officially secured a deal with the USA Network to produce Prime Time Wrestling on a weekly basis. The show will be hosted by Gorilla Monsoon, with a rotating lineup of guest hosts handling color commentary duties. The format is expected to lean heavily into personality-driven segments and storyline advancement, giving the company more flexibility than traditional syndicated programming. It's also being said that Raw has been terminated for the time being and that the WWF wasn't too thrilled with the ratings it was getting. There continues to be concern internally regarding the condition of Andre the Giant. Several sources describe Andre as “on his last legs” physically, and the new alliance with Jake Roberts is believed to be a calculated move to keep Andre featured while limiting his in-ring workload. The severity of his health issues is being kept tightly guarded, with only a select few aware of the full situation. There is a growing belief that 1991 could be Andre’s final year of active competition. In a surprising development, Jake Roberts has reportedly been on his best behavior in recent months. Known for past issues outside the ring, Roberts is said to have made noticeable changes, with the locker room rallying around him in support. This shift has reportedly caught many off guard, and management appears to be rewarding his improved standing with a prominent push on television. The situation involving Ultimate Warrior remains tense. Warrior is said to be extremely unhappy with his loss at WrestleMania, and there are reports that original plans called for Andre to turn on Warrior rather than the current direction. When informed of creative plans, Warrior reportedly left the arena, and relations between him and management have continued to deteriorate. His loss to Roberts is being viewed internally as a turning point in an already strained relationship. Rick Bognar, now being billed as Titan, is receiving strong backing internally. The Canadian talent was reportedly discovered and recommended by Jack Tunney, and management is said to be high on his size, presence, and overall look. There is optimism that he could develop into a major player, although, as always, his long-term success will depend on how he connects with audiences. Another pitch being discussed internally involves Tugboat potentially turning heel in a controversial direction. One idea reportedly floated would see Tugboat align himself as a foreign sympathizer, specifically as an Iraqi supporter, which would tie into current real-world tensions. It’s unclear if this direction will move forward, but it has reportedly sparked debate within the company due to the sensitivity of the angle.

Prime Time Wrestling 03/23/1991 https://docs.google.com/document/d/e/2PACX-1vSlbwopn-iknGcIfZ44FCxYHjjN-ih0FnU5giqUp0c0t4Uc9xJa-jhT731okotpsb6jze3yOiHmBkkk/pub Here is the first episode of Prime Time Wrestling. Please enjoy! The blue on the names is entrance themes for my wrestlers. I researched using Cage Match, and every song is a song that the person used in their career, and I made sure the songs were at least made by 1991 if they were songs that required a license to use.

Here is the WWF Title history. The only part missing is whatever Den Scorpio did and who was crowned champion during that time. Everything else should be accurate. If any of the previous bookers notice something off, feel free to let me know. I went back through the shows and this is what I found. Since I am now taking over the booking for the WWF, I am also recognizing Andre’s title reign. I am not sure if LowBlow officially acknowledged it, but as the current booker, I will be counting it moving forward. Championships/Title History: WWF Championship 1. Bob Backlund 2. Magnum TA 3.
