FMW Grand Slam, Night 7 September 21, 1995 in Saijo, Ehima, Japan Saijo City Gym FMW Grand Slam Brass Knuckles Championship Round Robin Tournament: Hayabusa [8] vs. Jinsei Shinzaki [0] Hayabusa tried to end this early after a pre-match handshake, due to his badly injured knee. Shinzaki did fend off the initial attack and made his comeback. This was more a short sprint. Shinzaki picked up the win after hitting the Praying Power Bomb. Daisuke Ikeda vs. Horace Boulder Another Shoot Style vs Death Style, but this time Shoot Style came out on top with a submission victory for Ikeda. Bring Your Own Weapon's Battle Royal: Featuring: Megumi Kudo, Takako Inoue, Combat Toyoda, Maymi Ozaki, Crusher Maedomori, Shark Tsuchiya, Miwa Sato, Chigusa Nagayo, & Monster Ripper This was a violent battle royal that saw lots of weapons used. Early on Kudo and Combat pumped into each other and looked to go at, but instead shook hands. As they did that, Shark came from behind and tossed both. Chigusa and Ripper eliminated each other to bring the match down to Ozaki and Inoue. The two battled and hit each other with chairs, but in the end Ozaki ducked Inoue's charge and picked up the win. Koji Nakagawa, La Parka, & Hanzo Nakajima vs. Damian 666, Yuji Yasaroaka, & W*ING Kanemaru This was built like a lucha libre trios match. La Parka pinned Yasaroaka to gain the victory for his team. Afterwards Kanemaru went to confront him, but Parka laid him out with a chair and danced over his prone body. Ricky Fuji vs. Headhunter A A wild brawl that was tossed out when the other Headhunter and Hisakatsu Oya interfered. FMW Grand Slam Brass Knuckles Championship Round Robin Tournament: Terry Funk [4] vs. Mr. Gannosuke [0] Mr. Gannosuke had an aggressive edge here, but Terry Funk is a wile veteran. Both men came close to victory, but Funk hit a moonsault for the win. After the match Funk called out Hayabusa who defeated him earlier in the tournament. Hayabusa tried to limp out to confront Funk, but Super Leather attacked him from behind. Big Boss Man ran out to save Hayabusa and run off Leather. Mr. Gannosuke ignored the whole situation and did not save anyone, just looked disgusted as he stormed to the back. Funk stayed in the ring taunted everyone. FMW Grand Slam Brass Knuckles Championship Round Robin Tournament: The Gladiator [6] vs. Masato Tanaka [8] We've all seen this match and know this match. 7. Almost everyone coming out of this tournament has a story going forward, so standings are working out a way to start stories. It's difficult, but it's a great way to start booking as it's a clean slate.
  8. FMW Grand Slam, Night 6 September 20, 1995 in Marugame, Kawgawa, Japan City Gym Mayumi Ozaki & Takako Inoue vs. Crusher Maedomoari & Shark Tsuchiya A really solid bout to get the crowd going in the opener. No Holds Barred: Super Leather vs. Daisuke Ikeda Death Style vs. Shoot Style. Ikeda used kicks and submission, while Super Leather used a barbed wire baseball bat. Ikeda was bloodied up, but his kicks were vicious enough to chop down Leather. A leglock submission almost made Leather tap, but he grabbed the baseball bat and knocked Ikeda out for the win. Afterwards he limped to the back with help from the referees. FMW Grand Slam Brass Knuckles Championship Round Robin Tournament: Terry Funk [4] vs. The Gladiator [4] Super Leather was not in Funk's corner for this one, after the last contest. Funk and Gladiator had a heel versus heel contest where both men played it legit. Tables, chairs, and a barbed wire baseball bat were all used. An Awesome Splash gave Gladiator the win here, but barely. FMW Grand Slam Brass Knuckles Championship Round Robin Tournament: Sabu [4] vs. Big Boss Man [4] Another big man vs. little man contest here, but taken to the extreme. Sabu put Boss Man through two tables. He attempted to use a chair, but Boss Man blocked it with the knife stick. Boss Man then knocked Sabu out with the knife stick, but missed a big splash. Sabu hit the Triple Jump Moonsault for the win. FMW Grand Slam Brass Knuckles Championship Round Robin Tournament: Hayabusa [8] vs. Masato Tanaka [6] These two friends went to battle in a King's Road Style match that lived up to an AJPW main event. The finish saw Hayabusa going for the Firebird Special, but his leg gave away which slowed down his accent, Tanaka jumped to the top and nailed a Tornado DDT in about twenty minutes for the win. The match was focused on Gannosuke's leg work and Hayabusa attempting comebacks. Gannosuke started to look really confident, but as he went to the top he showboated too much which allowed Hayabusa to move out of the way and then hit the Fire Thunder Bomb for the win. Gannosuke was visibly frustrated post match. La Parka vs. Hanzo Nakajima A spotfest with Parka gaining the victory with a tumbleweed. Some great dancing by Parka as well. After the match he nailed Hanzo with a chair. Street Fight: Super Leather vs. Horace Boulder A big brawl that went all over the ringside and featured blood. Leather hit a piledriver onto a steel chair for the win. Ricky Fuji, Hisakatsu Oya, & Koji Nakagawa vs. The Headhunters, & W*ING Kanemaru A nice brawl with Fuji playing the face in peril. FMW Grand Slam Brass Knuckles Championship Round Robin Tournament: Big Boss Man [2] vs. Jinsei Shinzaki [0] A high flying Shinzaki versus the power man Boss Man. Megumi Kudo, Chigusa Nagayo, & Combat Toyoda vs. Mayumi Ozaki, Takako Inoue, & Monster Ripper A great contest which everyone hit their spots in. 10. I really hope Hawk worked heel against Bret, I think that's the only way I want to see that match. So glad Norton is getting wins.
  11. That's a hell of a Four Horsemen unit!
  12. So frustrating. My laptop if I hit backspace at the wrong time with back out of the page and I will have to retype everything! By the way two more shows posted for FMW. The stories of the round robin tournament are starting to emerge.
  13. FMW Grand Slam, Night 4 September 18, 1995 in Izumo, Shimane, Japan City Gym Yuji Yasaroaka vs Hanzo Nakajima A quick spotfest to get the crowd going with Nakajima getting the win. She has proved on this tour she is the top woman in FMW and challenges whoever the FMW Champion is to a title match at the finale of this tour. W*ING Kanemaru vs Katsutoshi Niiyama Kanemaru gets the win in a basic match. FMW Grand Slam Brass Knuckles Championship Round Robin Tournament: The Gladiator [2] vs. Jinsei Shinzaki [0] Shinzaki put up a great fight, but The Gladiator was too powerful and dynamic. Awesome Bomb picks up the victory here. FMW Grand Slam Brass Knuckles Championship Round Robin Tournament: Sabu [2] vs. Mr. Gannosuke [0] Gannosuke came so close to winning again, but just fell short. Gannosuke was noticeable frustrated after the loss and threw some chairs around. FMW Independent Women's & WWA Women's Title Match: Megumi Kudo [c] vs.Mayumi Ozaki This was not only a great wrestling match, but also a violent one as well. Damian 666 impersonated The Head Hunters and even did their moves. La Parka was a side show here dancing and hitting some high spots, but wasn't too involved. Super Power Bomb by the Headhunters on Oya gave them the victory. Super Leather vs Koji Nakagawa Leather brawled and Nakagawa tried to use technique. In the end Super Leather rammed Nakagawa into his chainsaw which was at ringside, which lead directly to the victory. FMW Grand Slam Brass Knuckles Championship Round Robin Tournament: Sabu [0] vs. Jinsei Shinzaki [0] This is exactly what you would expect from these two. Crazy high spot contest. Sabu hit a moonsault through a table for his first win of the tournament. Daisuke Ikdea vs Mitsuharu Matsunaga Shoot Style vs Death Style! Matsunaga has some tricks up his sleeve with his karate background though, so early on this resembled a UWFi match. Death Style of course came out on top here. FMW Grand Slam Brass Knuckles Championship Round Robin Tournament: Masato Tanaka [0] vs. Mr. Gannosuke [0] This was more of a King's Road style contest, but with chairs. Gannosuke got a few very close nearfalls, but Tanaka hit a Tornado DDT followed by a Roaring Elbow for the win. Funk really destroyed Hayabusa's leg through out the contest and kept coming back to the spinning toe hold. Hayabusa kept fighting back. At one point Super Leather and Funk started to double team, after Hayabusa looked to have everything in hand. That is when the Big Boss Man ran to ringside and chased Super Leather to the back. That left Hayabusa alone to hit the Firebird Special, however Funk moved out of the way. Funk put on the Spinning Toe Hold, only for it to be countered with an inside cradle for the win. 15. Whatever you need man.
  16. Sounds awesome dex
  17. Forgot to mention the black barred cage (replacing the blue one) debuted in February 99 for the Vince/Austin match.
  18. Love it, keeps the SMW feel and brings in the new faces slowly. I'm really curious about the Rock'n'Rolls vs Bodies match, if one team breaks up that's quite a massive move. Keep it up!
  19. FMW Grand Slam, Night 2 September 16, 1995 in Nankoku, Kochi, Japan City Gym Crusher Maedomori & Shark Tsuchiya vs Megumi Kudo & Combat Toyoda Kudo and Toyoda have some miscommunication which leads to Shark pinning Kudo. The flyers flew. La Parka danced and used the chair he brought well. There was a lot of weapons being thrown around. The Headhunters and Fuji/Oya eliminated each other and brawled all over the arena to the back, which left the final four of: La Parka, Super Leather, W*ING Kanemura, and Mitsuharu Matsunaga. Parka was the first to go as he missed a dive and Super Leather ducked. The remaining three got really bloody and Super Leather was the last man standing. Chigusa Nagayo vs Maymi Ozaki A traditional AJW style match which could had went either way. Nagayo did get the victory and she challenged whoever the WWF Women's Champion is to a match for the title on the final day of the tour. FMW Grand Slam Brass Knuckles Championship Round Robin Tournament: The Gladiator [0] vs Mr. Gannosuke [0] The Gladiator pulled out the win with an Awesome Bomb through a table. Current Grand Slam Round Robin Standings: 1. Hayabusa [4] 1. Terry Funk [4] 3. Big Boss Man [2] 3. The Gladiator [2] 5. Jinsei Shinzaki [0] 5. Mr. Gannosuke [0] 5. Masato Tanaka [0] 5. Sabu [0]
  20. You have really captured the feel of ECW TV!
  21. Indeed. I'm amazed. What has Chyna done apart from being a truly efficient gimmicky valet for a year or two before becoming an atrocious in-ring worker ? Did she move any kind of needle like Sable did during the Attitude Era, which would be the *only* semi-valid criteria to event have her approach the ballot ? She died.
  22. These lists exposes the bullshit of voting for people still in their prime.
  23. Super Smash Bros? Last year's Dusty tournament was fun, but we didn't get full matches most of the time which hurt it.
  24. Dave has spent the day on twitter arguing with people that CWC should be up for best TV show and Dave insisting it's the same as the G1, so it's up for special event of the year. It's kind of funny.
  25. Sounds fun. OVW type shows in Austrailia! Also, remember there is, in theory, promotions in England, Austrailia, Mexico, and smaller indies running as well where your folks are picking up dates. It's just those results are not widely distributed.
