  1. The problem with the term overweight is that the person saying it has no idea if that's true or not. Do you know what someone's ideal body weight is? Also calling an athlete like Chris Hero overweight or fat, when they are doing amazing athletic things.. is just odd. What are you even doing or what is the point? For Johnny, it depends on the person. The connotations are there and can be really hurtful. Obviously there are exceptions.
  2. It actually started when someone claimed fans don't hate overweight wrestlers. All I did was state a reason why I think they do and questioned what someone met by the term "overweight". That is nothing like you said at all.
  3. If it's tiresome to you, just ignore the topic and move on. Obviously you don't want to discuss it, so don't post about it and everybody will move on. I would love to talk about it. I haven't seen any argument that states body shaming is good for society yet, though. From all the reading, and talking to people and evidence I can see, body shaming is a serious issue in North America at least. You should see what it's like in a place like China if you think its bad here. Even at America's worst, we got nothing on that. I'm sorry, but the argument that it's worse somewhere else isn't an argument for anything.

  5. Don't want to talk UFC, don't watch it. Don't care about it. As for your comment here, I don't go to those places. The places I do, I do call them out.
  6. I don't care if it's talked about in how it portrays a character. That's completely fine. The issue comes with actually body shaming. "Braun Strowman" looks like a complete bad ass, his size plays into that". Awesome, fine! "Chris Hero is fat." Is not helpful in anyway. If what you mean is "Chris Hero does not look like an athlete, so I don't buy him kicking ass". Sure, that's fine.
  7. What does a wrestler's mask have to do with body shaming someone? I concede my UFC point, I haven't watched it in a decade or so.
  8. Sorry I don't follow UFC enough. If people with society perfect bodies get advantages over others, that's pretty messed up. UFC is a sport. As for your last sentence, I'm sorry I completely disagree with you. Yes, others feel it's important to them. That's not the issue. The issue is criticizing the bodies of great athletes calling them too fat or too skinny is a disaster for society. It adds to so many problems and is a practice that needs to be stopped. If you want to think to yourself whatever you want, go for it. However, I will call out body shaming every time. Not because it's my personal preference, it's because it's actually harmful. Here you are talking about height. I have no issues with that, nor does anybody else. Talk about height all you want. See how you can have a discussion without any body shaming there. It's not that hard. I also said he's 100 pounds lighter and that's just as important as the height difference. It DOES matter. Zack Sabre Jr's deal of dominating people with technical wrestling doesn't work if the guy he's wrestling is a lot heavier and looks strong enough to just force his way out of holds. Taker is 100 pounds heavier, because he is a bigger man. That's not body shaming in any way. There is nothing wrong with that. Again with the ZSJ comment, that isn't shaming anyone. In the past sure, before I realized how fucked up the whole society and medical industry is when it comes to heath and weight. Also, my personal opinion and my public opinion don't have to align. If I think something hurtful, why would I share it? Again, I don't watch enough UFC to know. Last time I watched Tank Abbott was a big star. Yeah, Vince is not my standard on what right and wrong is. To clarify, body shaming is harmful to society. I will call out anyone who body shames.

  10. How you look is a big part of being a wrestler. One of the more important things along with in-ring work, charisma, mic skills and character/gimmick. Is it? If so why? Is it important in UFC? Somebodies body doesn't matter to me when it comes to them as a wrestler, why would it?
  11. You seem to think even acknowledging the appearance of another person is automatically body shaming, though. Saying someone is skinny or overweight is not inherently shaming. So what you're really asking is to not discuss the physical appearance of any wrestler in this thread. It's the context. Also, like I stated a thousand times, what does overweight even mean? You have no idea what an individual's ideal weight is, so how do you know they are over or under weight. Yeah, actually it would be great if you could stop talking about wrestler's physical appearance. There is context that it's fine, like how it works towards their character or whatever. However that majority of the time it's just pointless stuff that adds to the major issue in society about weight, bodies, body shaming, eating disorders, etc..
  12. Very possible. He did help with business and booking in ECW. He did run some kind of training business, didn't he? I think I heard he helped with TNA creative as well, but not sure about that.
  13. If people could stop body shaming in this thread, that would be greatly appreciated.
  14. Yeah and I will call people out on it every time. Its bullshit. I haven't heard anything about ZSJ but those comments would be wrong too.
  15. First part for sure. The jokes are really stupid, and only cause unnecessary harm, but yeah. I would argue the scrawny dude shouldn't get grief either. Also, I don't know if that is true.
  16. He's gained 50 pounds and was rehired. Obviously his weight is not an issue for the WWE. What did I saw that was incorrect? Your righteous indignation regarding this issue is well documented...and a little tiresome. Ok... I'm sorry, but if someone is saying something ridiculous I am going to point out it's ridiculous. If it's tiresome to you, just ignore the topic and move on. Obviously you don't want to discuss it, so don't post about it and everybody will move on.
  17. What did I saw that was incorrect?
  18. Either debate what is posted or add to the discussion in some way. A post like this is useless and garbage.
  19. I'm really sorry with my activity. Everything is hectic and I'm trying to do too much at once. Hope to update everything very shortly.
  20. Lol. It's because he's a NXT reject who doesn't fit in a workrate promotion (or whatever ROH tries to be these days) and clearly got booked just because he was an ex WWE guy they could roll out . That your first thought would be "is it because he's fat?" is hilarious. A company that books the Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, and brings in Okada/Tanahashi fairly regularly. Weird that that audience doesn't give a shit about Bull Dempsey. Not hilarious . Fans of today hate wrestlers because they are overweight . That is a fact. You have to be a great worker to get past being overweight . I don't watch NXT so I have only seen a picture of James , never seen him work .Unless you are Samoa Joe or Steen , ROH fans boo fat guys out of building. Been that way since the Blue Meanie hit TV screens. I'm not sure fans of today do hate overweight wrestlers - I think if there is a big guy who can do some athletic spots then it really gets over with the crowd. I actually think it's the muscled/chiselled look that gets more hate, as a lot of fans seem to have an inbuilt prejudice against guys with that look and that they can't 'work' because they still associate it with Vince McMahon and having looks but no talent. It's sort of a hold over from the 2005-08 period where all WWE callups from OVW were jacked and looked identical, but very few were any good. In fact, if you look at WWE/NXT TV it's far more diverse now in terms of peoples body types etc that it's been in ages. It seems to me that if a guy comes out looking like a Chris Masters today, people instantly seem to think they are going to be terrible. First, what does overweight mean? How do we know what a person's optimal weight is? Second, people deemed "overweight" get shitted on everywhere. Did you see the reaction to Hero's signing? Jokes about wearing full body suits, etc.. Fat shaming is huge everywhere, including in wrestling.

No I get that, and it's tough trying to fit everyone onto Mania, but it's about priorities. The top male wrestlers WILL get top singles matches/title matches/showcase matches at Mania. It's when you get down to the midcard or leftover guys where they'll get thrown into a random undercard match or the battle royal to get them on the show. Jobbers will struggle to make it on. But the top female wrestlers WILL get thrown into their random undercard matches to get them on the show. Everyone below them misses out. The women have kind of made it from the absolute bottom of that Midcard/Throw Them On Somewhere tier to the top of it. That's progress I guess. But they're still ways away from cracking the top tier. They flirted with it by having them main event a B PPV and Raw and stuff (and again I'm not complaining about that kind of progress) but when you get to Mania you see where their REAL priorities lie. And at Mania the clock strikes midnight and the women have to go back into their box. We need the time for the real stars. Like, the fact that the women have come so far in the last 12 months kind of makes it worse. During the year they can main event PPVs and TV and have 30 minute title matches and stuff. They've shown that they have the workers and the popularity to do it. But they won't even consider building two separate women's issues for Mania. They won't even consider building to some epic, 30 minute title match like the men get. The best they can do is shoehorn them into the same lone title match spot that they always get. But this time, they'll get 15 minutes to work instead of 3. While that sounds like a "WWE showing its true colors about the women", it's clear that none of the women WWE currently has employed saved for maybe Asuka are capable of handling what is needed for a WM main event match. The top four can't even finish a 10 minute TV match without it falling apart multiple times. And these are women that work with each other pretty much exclusively for the past 2-3 years. Do you really trust Bayley to end the show of shows in front of 100K people? The Divas Revolution worked, the Four Horsewomen are all decent-great workers, but every match any of them are involved in can still go completely off the rails any second regardless of opponent. You can't depend on them not to get completely lost and not know how to get back. Too bad Sasha-Bayley from Brooklyn was the best WWE match from the last decade.
  23. Care to elaborate ? (he's got that assholish reputation forever, but twitter is the pits in term of acting like a dick) I can't post images, because he's blocked me. Trump supporter and all the worst qualities that go with that. We'll leave it there.
  24. ROH signing Hardy's is a brilliant move. Give the creative control and let them do whatever. As for Bubba, fuck him. He's really a horrible person, as he shows on twitter. He's not going to add anything and there is way better talent out there.
  25. http://placetobenation.com/super-apuestas-podcast-golden-magic-vs-pirata-morgan-jr-02-13-17/ Steven Graham and JR Goldberg are back to discuss a current apuestas match.
