It's neat and interesting, but does not make him a better wrestler than anyone else to me. Watch some more Bryan please, would love for him to shoot up your list, he really is a Flair equal.
-
Lou Thesz is an index too, isn't he? Am I missing something? EDIT: It's been great to talk about all these guys. Hopefully this process can be improved upon for future projects.

I don't want to undersell the greatness of this joke.

Good question. Kobashi is top 20 as well, probably above Martel. I think Kobashi is like Rey, though. Where you don't think of him as just a babyface.
-
In the Steamboat vs Bret thread I mentioned that I would have Martel above Steamboat. I think Martel is the best wrestling babyface in history. Thus he is above Steamboat, who is strictly a babyface candidate. Thinking about it, I have Rey Mysterio above both Martel and Steamboat, but I think there is other factors to Rey besides being a strictly babyface. I somehow look at guys in Japan/Mexico differently than in the US, as terms of roles. For me, probably Top 10: Rey Jr. Top 20: Martel Top 25: Steamboat Top 40: Tito Santana Top 40: Ricky Morton So, how are you ranking your babyface workers?
-
You're ranking 5 guys because you like them regardless of whether there may be better wrestlers out there. if someone else finds a wrestler's historical context adds to their matches then that's very relevant. Bottom five go to personal favourites, rest of list is on merit. We are talking to top 15 guys and saying one faced hall of famers and one faced modern guys as a criteria seems odd. George Steele probably has a better list of opponents than Daniel Bryan does too.
-
Those stories are irrelevant. Who is the better wrestler?
-
There is something about him that makes me feel he is replaceable. Bossman, at least, I have higher than Williams

Getting close to gwe deadline
-
Probably a better babyface team.
-
Man I really love Shiryu a LOT. His WCW stuff was fun. I doubt that is enough to get on there, but the Shiryu stuff is a hell of a peak.
-
I really think I have Martel above Steamboat too. I think Martel is the better babyface worker. They are very similar, but Martel as a little better fire.
-
I always took it as only wimps submitted until Shamrock came around, so having a submission finisher really hurt you at that time. He did win a lot with the Sharpshooter though, like versus Austin or Perfect. What I liked is that they would play of previous things he learned and would make sense, but still surprise you. Of all the things I may knock Flair on, his finishes are generally fine when they weren't run ins.

Hasnen is getting a lot of love. It's fascinating going back like two years on Wrestling Culture where the debate was Flair v Funk vs Lawler and Hansen wans't even in the picture. Buddy Rose was the only other name I could remember being brought up. Now Hansen may win this poll.
-
I think Bret is a smarter worker. Bret's selling is different than Steamboat's, but I think it works better usually. Like Bret's offense better. Certainly was a better heel. Had better finishes. Steamboat was great and didn't take nights off and was given more opportunities and better opponents to have better matches. If you value that, then he will be higher for you.

JvK reviews pimped matches from late 90s-10s
Grimmas replied to JerryvonKramer's topic in Megathread archive
Don't worry Parv, Tanahashi sucks so I am on board. -
That what I proposed on Twitter. Then turn Reigns heel after Ambrose beats Brock. Have Reigns tell Ambrose he stole his destiny . After Reigns turns on Dean he cuts a promo about last year Seth stole his destiny to be World Champion, and this year you did. You guys were supposed to have been my friends. This justifies his heel turn. Yeah, that's perfect. A simple easy fix that makes Mania so much better.

So.. there has been a few misses in the nomination process. Rikidozan, Kaz Hayashi, Robert Fuller and some golden age legends. The board has decided to open up nominations starting now till I wake up Sunday morning. On Sunday I will close nominations and post the forum to vote.
-
Bryan is someone who is pushing for top 10 since his retirement. He could edge out Flair. I certainly like him more than Flair.
-
Mind blowing fact that Dylan brought up is that Daniel Bryan is the greatest wrestler ever that has his hole career on tape. From the beginning to the end.

I find copying into notepad. Then copy the notepad and pasting into excel works.
-
Including stock. He was under a million in salary, like 800k something
-
When the votes start I will lay this out, but the preferred method is copying and pasting from the index thread. Maybe copy everybody over to notepad or something and make your list, then go to the forum to copy and paste them in? That's a long way to say that every name will be changed to what is in that index thread, no matter what you put. Of course if you just copy and paste it will save us a lot of time. Steen or Owens is fine either way. The index thread is usually the most well known as names or where they made their case. It's really irrelevant if it's John Tenta, Earthquake, Shark or Golga, as long as all the votes go to the same person.

Seems like a major miss. Would you for sure be voting for him? I'll have to bring this up with the board.
