Any recs would be awesome!

I'm up until 1992 in my joshi watching and I have fallen completely for Inoue. What a tremendous babyface with great sympathetic charisma. Yes, she's a freaking oddball doing bizarre shit all the time, but it's really charming. She sells amazing, and looks awesome in all of her big matches. Plus a giant swing gets bonus points, and super bonus points for adding spins into almost any other moves she does!

Scorpio was the best wrestler in the world in 1996. Was one of the greatest high flyers in wrestling history. Was tremendous in tags or singles, as a babyface or a heel, and for a very long period of time. Feels like someone I need to vote for, but I haven't seen anything from the 2000s on, any recommendations for that?

Few things in wrestling I love more than heels who are committed to cheating! Fuerza rules in that way. Some recommendations please.

The Finlay match in Smash FUCKING RULES!!!

Join us! Also please don't feel like you need to watch every candidate. There is too much footage to tackle, nobody can do it all.

What we watched on the Watch Party: vs Sara Del Rey (SHIMMER Volume 1, 2005-11-06) vs Davina Rose (SHIMMER Volume 41, 2011-10-01) vs Kana (SHIMMER Volume 46, 2012-03-17) vs Kylie Rae (RISE 13, No Ropes Submission, 2019-03-29) vs Thunder Rosa (Hurricane Pro, 2019-07-27) vs Jordynne Grace (The Summit, 2019-08-10) If you want some other great matches, you have the MYC with Meiko, vs David Starr from Beyond Uncharted Territory (2019-10-19), the Iron Man match from RISE with Tessa Blanchard. Those should give you a good rounding view of her, but I could throw in more if you would like. Top 25 may be too high, she may not last there and definately some bias there. Top 50 is very reasonable though.

One of my favourite matches of the decade. Gives you a great glimpse of how awesome Mercedes is.

Just finished the watch party on Mercedes and yeah she's a top 25 candidate for me. She's so casually charismaticly bad ass! Her selling and facial expressions are off the chart. She's extremely smart too in the ring, and can easily adapt to almost any situation. More hype please!

Shimmer 05-07 (so far). Everything is logically built with character development. Shows are easy to watch, because undercards are kept short and are angle and character development. Wins and loses matter. Upper half of the show has great matches. Amazing commentary too. Love it so much.

On a Legends of the Ring, he was asked who the greatest Canadian wrestler was and he said Archie Gouldie, and then when someone tried to argue with him and say it was him, he didn't back down.

He also in more recent years gained some measure of notoriety among watchers of American indie wrestling where he took part in a couple of bloodsport shows, where he had the opportunity to show off his background of a 16-4 MMA record. His 2017/2018 is a truly exceptional one for a deathmatch wrestler where he held the BJW and Freedoms titles the two main deathmatch titles in Japan at the same time, was BJWs biggest draw, main eventing multiple arena shows and wrestling the likes of Masaya Takahashi, Ryuji Ito, Abdullah Kobayashi, Jun Kasai, Isami Kodaka and Minoru fujita in the process."

As good of a pure mat technician as anyone who worked in Japan in the 1970's. Inventor or at least popularizer in a pro wrestling sense of the gutwrench suplex. Supposedly the inspiration for Misawa to sport long green tights."

She's one of my favorite woman wrestlers and I think she is an interesting case of the best Joshi who has made her career outside of the most important groups. I love the fact that there's a very romantic touch in her career story, how she resurrected and reinvented JWP, and how she had managed to kept her name and birth day secret as far as I know. I love that something like that is possible in 2021. She also has great athletic abilities which can be seen in her participation in the Chikara King of Trios, but where she really shines is on the mat."

From what we do have, it's a tale of two wrestlers, the young, defiant, indomitable babyface working in France just absolutely crushing guys like a mix between Bob Backlund and Brock Lesnar, and then the crafty and cruel heel wrestling Steve Veidor almost 20 years later, all punctuated by the manager vs manager match with Heenan where he's a de facto face that the crowd loved to hate or hated to love. Is it enough? Probably not for me but maybe for someone, because he's incredibly dynamic in the 50s footage and awesome and despicable in 75. His team with Ray Hunter felt like the best babyace team in the world from the few long matches we have of theirs. Unfortunately a lot of his 1970s was in Amarillo so we just don't have it, but I think people delving into the French footage will want to see everything we do have of him."

SegundaCuerda said: "He's always in my mind when I think who are the best independent wrestlers in the world nowadays, has been consistent for years, it's hard to think in a bad match of him, has wrestled very good to great matches against a lot of different rivals in Beyond, and his work in the Bloodsports has been great. Probably will be under contract soon, maybe in NJPW, and I'm very interested in how that will go."

Elliott said: "I can't believe she wasn't nominated in 2016. I just assumed she had been or she would've been my first nominee. Jumping Bomb Angels are one of the best tag teams of all time and she deserves a nomination based on that alone. Incredible athlete. OJ has called her the spiritual successor to Jaguar Yokota and I can totally see that, but she can show vulnerability like I've never seen from Jaguar. The Dump Matsumoto match from 8/21/86 is one of the singular holy shit babyface performances of all time. Must see match, must watch nominee. She's another one that would be a contender if we were doing a top 50 instead of a top 100. Itsuki Yamazaki was the fucking bomb. "
