I don't want to get into this again. If you think those things are the same, enjoy thinking that. Glad you listened anyway. -
Observer HOF prediction/ballot question thread

Yup, yup, agree here. I don't really understand how you could say this. Best JYD matches are as good as best Edge matches. Sure Edge was more smooth and had higher end offense, but the charisma that JYD brought in the ring made his matches better. I'll take Stagger Lee/Bill Watts vs Midnight Express over any Edge match. Heck I'll even take JYD/Tito vs Funks over the majority of Edge matches. Not to mention the cool stuff coming out of the Houston footage. What makes Edge good in the ring? He was a horrible actor who had horrible offense and the majority of his "great" matches involves him spending most of the matches building traps for his opponents. -

Fair for Flair: a mini-series
Grimmas replied to JerryvonKramer's topic in GWE Podcasts and Publications
To me Flair was a great athlete, with so much charisma who did a lot of cool stuff. He has so many all-time great matches too. The problem is, I don't think he was that smart of a worker. That is the type of thing that puts him down a few spots to me. -
He put the Shield over, they're all doing great in WWE. He put Bryan over, he's going to be the #1b baby face if he ever gets back. He put over John Cena, he's the biggest star in WWE for the decade since. He put over Batista 3x and he was the #2 guy for 5 years and damn good for his last run in '14 He was the only top guy to not put over Brock in his first run -Brock couldn't handle his spot, took off for the UFC, returns after 8 years and THEN puts him over(he did win the big Mania rematch, and then lost at the next show in the cage blowoff match, so this ones a push) He put over Chris Benoit 2x then cut his legs out and had Michaels as #1 face anyway -Benoit went on a murder-suicide rampage and gave WWE the worst PR ever He cooled off CM Punk's push when he was at his peak -Punk couldn't handle his spot on the card, took off for UFC He beat Sting at WrestleMania, but cheated to set up a potential rematch if Sting worked out -Sting has a great match, top of the card for Sept, and gets a major injury and may never return I dunno I think he's good judge of who's worth laying down for. And Brock has been my favorite wrestler since the day he debuted, to the day he left, and ever since he returned. Sting, Benoit and Punk all are in my top 20 all time, but Triple H is the constant and has to have his jobs mean something when they happen. That is incredibly misleading stance there. He put over the Shield, kind of. The Shield was the hottest act in the WWE (next to Bryan) after Hunter was done they had broken up and Ambrose has not been the same, Rollins is in the top spot but is nowhere near a top guy and Reigns is on the fence right now. Sure he lost to them, but they were more over before the Evolution feud. He put over Daniel Bryan? Bryan was the most over act in the company before Triple H got involved. Sure he jobbed to him in a match that shouldn't had happened and then the next month he was stuck facing Kane in an undercard match while Triple H and Evolution took on the Shield in the real main event. He did put over John Cena, true statement. Cena was over before the feud, but still that cemented him. He made Batista over ten years ago. As for the other section. Brock was a monster built as a big deal and here he is trading wins against Triple H. He barley recovered from that, what a waste of a year of him. Notice how Triple H, again, puts him self in with hot acts. For Benoit he put over Benoit the same way he put over Bryan. Don't see how they are in different categories. Punk could totally had handled the spot on the card? He left a few years later after being killed off after being the hottest act in the company with Triple H and left because Triple H was so shitty at putting everyone else down. Yes, Sting recovered for his return later in the year, doesn't mean that WrestleMania with Triple H was not pure and utter shit. Wow, what a great record Triple H has.

Come on Parv has his number 2, last I heard. Although it seems out of the top 3 is laughable. I have him 4-10. -

JYD is a better draw, had more influence, more iconic and a better worker than Edge. -
Thanks for the comments. Really appreciate the breakdown. I doubt Khan can do the same damage here, he has a lot of time in Japan coming up. Bobby Bass is the man and I would die to see him suspended above the ring in a cage. Thinking of Burke-Koloff I am unsure on this result now. That was booked before we started to tour the WWF area and I was going to push Burke into a top role. It would work in Ontario.. but in the US, I don't think Burke could work as a top star. Might had been a misstep. At least the fans would go home happy on that one. Choshu win was a long term plan to set up the Martel-Valentine feud. Choshu is now champion. Martel was beat up pretty badly and we will see what comes from that. Valentine is on a tear path. Martel-Valentine has always been planned as the showcase feud and this was just day 1.

Which is insane and shows a real problem with the voters. That I agree with in theory. What are the examples of that? Ric Flair seemed to create a template for how heel world champs with blond hair are supposed to work. Pre-Stone Cold Austin, Michaels, HHH and probably others all emulated him. For that reason, I'd think he was strong enough to go in on work alone even if he never drew a dime. Guys like Rey and Tiger Mask became superstars in spite of their size and by working a more daredevil style inside a business that feared smaller guys getting over. I wouldn't say they changed the style where everyone was working like them, but they both showed that guys their size could get over and how to go about doing it. I don't mean to compare the two as workers because much of Sayama's work doesn't look great on videotape and Rey's work had more staying power. But Rey's more enduring work wouldn't be his HOF case -- his HOF case would be that he used his in-ring ability to do something guys his size pretty much never did in wrestling. That is why I said in theory, because those guys get in for work and influence, and drawing too. -
If whoever picks up Vince allows him to do one taped promo for me, then I have an explanation planned.

Angle debatable is too nice. He does not belong in under any terms. -
Ring announcers like Finkel should just be whatever. To be honest I have no idea who the ring announcer is that I have been using. Not a huge part of the show, so just pretend Finkel goes wherever. Gorilla/Vince different story. Curious to see what happens with them, who drafts them or puts them a priority over talent or whatever.

He was in Montreal in the 70's for about 2 years.
-
I would be ok with it. I know some others have pointed out he should be a freelancer too. I don't really care either way.
-
Has there been an Andre the Giant discussion? I've heard some say he should become a freelancer, some say a promotion should pick him up, but use him to make trades to tour the country. Where do we stand on the Giant?
-
All my 27 dates can be changed to the 26th please.
-
All cool. Jack Tunney has similar issues.
-
By the way, all future shows (Preimum Action from the 29th, TV Taping on the 30th, etc...) are delayed until post draft. Just in case we get a new announcer.
-
By the way, I am super happy I made a deal 3 months ago to bring in Pedro Morales for October/November. Makes it a really easy transition to entering WWF arenas with a new show. Just throw Pedro-Koloff as the main event and there is two former WWF World Champs.

Everything is now sorted. Maple Leaf Wrestling is expanding into the North East part of the USA and to do that they have re-branded as the International Wrestling Federation. Besides that huge news, the HUGE Maple Leaf Gardens show is now officially posted (and edited). Huge things here, including a big main event title change and a few big angles. My best show yet and something I have been building towards for 3 months now.

We'll see what we can do!
