The only problem with that line of thinking is that I think that even with a deadline that is ten years from today, there would be missed matches that are praised as a great. There is new stuff every day being put out by companies. There is new stuff unearthed every day that is great too. I understand your position, however how much did people watch in 2006? Let's do it now and then, hopefully, again in 2026 and see where people are in viewing footage then. I don't see this project as a one time authority piece, I see it has a another step in an ongoing process. In an ideal world, every ten years somebody will re-visit this topic. I would love to see what the poll would look like in 2026, 2036, 2046, etc...

It almost feels like people are rating 80's WWF guys on a curve. If he were in any other promotion I doubt a guy who had a couple good feuds over 5 years would be getting much top 100 consideration, especially when as you said, even if it may be good for 80s WWF it doesn't hold up too well when you compare it to the puro and lucha from the time period. I think the WWF gets advocated more by the folks who are voting more on great performances than for great matches. If Randy Savage was in the NWA from 84-94 he would had had more great matches to his resume, but his performance as a wrestler would be similar. Some people will vote him higher based on that, some lower. There is a real divide between Loss and Matt D in this type of thinking. As for Tito, he was a great seller who showed amazing fire. Those are two really important things to me and he'll end up on my list (I think)

I'll consider Warrior and Goldberg. I don't see how I could fit them in, but I do really enjoy them.

I have a notebook that after I watch a match that I rate over 3.5 stars I mark it down. After a page is filled I copy that information down into my excel sheet. That excel sheet is broken down into decades. I find that helps me keep track. I started about a year ago and this year I have a better recollection than I have in a long long time. The other thing you can do, is go to the matches section of this board and after you watch a match just fill in some comments about it. That way you can always go back to it.

His WWE run is GWE terretory, however I need to re-watch his indie run.

A little too much Parv talk on the episode, but what can you do. I'm just happy I got to talk about Muraco, Demolition and Fuji!

Sorry to sound like a broken record, but this thread/post (http://wrestlingclassics.com/cgi-bin/.ubbcgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=7;t=000499;p=0) lists everyone who has been on the ballot and fell off. So if the wrestler is not on this list, nor is currently on the ballot or has been elected, they have never been on the ballot (not counting 1996 charter members and some historical inductees). Never saw that link before. So, neither have ever been on the ballot. That is crazy to me. Neither are locks, but they are better picks than some on there.

Has Rick Martel ever been on the ballot or Greg Valentine?

In January I did a list of the best 25 matches in the history of the Royal Rumble. I left this match off the list. The result was getting lambasted all over the internet for that list, because I left off that match.

Nominate him. The reviews are in the 80's set folder.Their are more than 3 based on Strike Force vs. The Islanders matches. Where's the 80s set folder? Hidden, but he can still be nominated.
