  1. Can't wait to see what WCW has in store in December and the new year.
  2. Huge wins for the Rockers and Martel. Demos and Scrapers definitely will need a rematch, possibly in a cage.
  3. Pacific Coast Wrestling Show from the UCSB Event Center, Santa Barbara, November 24th Barry Windham vs. David Young Young was coming off two high profile Pacific Heavyweight title shots, and was looking to keep his momentum going. He certainly went all out against Barry Windham, and while the big Texan was able to come out on top with a Western Lariat, you could tell he had been in a fight. The Widowmaker and the fans were clearly looking at Young with a new respect after this match. Dragon Azul vs. Beetlejuice Once again, Beetlejuice was all business, wearing a plain white singlet with no face paint as he faced the top contender to the Light Heavyweight crown. It was a gripping match where Dragon was able to come out on top with an Asai Moonsault. Wings Of Fire (Vic Steamboat & The Eagle) vs. Iron & Steel (Tony Atlas & Larry Cameron) Wings Of Fire were coming in at a disadvantage with Steamboat still battered from his match with Terry Gordy and the Eagle having his own wounds from the brawl with the Sinister Ministry. The Eagle carried most of the match for his team and gave a good go of it, but Cameron hit the Harlem Hammer (running clothesline to the back of the head) on the Eagle to give the win to Iron & Steel. Eddie Guerrero vs. Al Snow Guerrero seemed a bit more aggressive than usual this time out, but this was still a tight technical match where Eddie scored the victory with a Frog Splash. California Title Match : Steven Regal © vs. Chris Adams Regal once again faced off against an incredible contender in his fellow Englishman Chris Adams, who matched him move for move. Regal was able to dodge the deadly Superkick, then cold cock Adams with a forearm smash before pinning him with the Regal Plex. Pacific Light Heavyweight Title Match : Scotty The Body © vs. Alex Porteau The evening closed out with another great Light Heavyweight match. Like many wrestling this week, Porteau's time in PCW could be coming to an end next week, so was set on getting the title and going into San Diego with a huge win. His scientific wrestling skills did him well against Scotty, but some timely interference by Tina Ferrari left him prey to the Body Shot (DDT), keeping the gold in the hands of the champ.
  4. Pacific Coast Wrestling show from the LA Sports Arena, Los Angeles, on Pacific Super Cards on ESPN / TSN, November 23rd The Suicide Blondes (Chris Candido & Louie Spicolli) vs. The Can-Am Express The Southern Boys got revenge for the night before, running into the ring and taking down Candido with a double clothesline, setting him up for a moonsault from Lafon and a win for the Can-Ams. Shane Douglas vs. Big Bully Busick Busick was clearly getting full on annoyed by Jim Cornette in this match, with the motor mouth of the Louisville Lip actually distracting him from Douglas' offense. He was able to regain focus and catch Douglas coming off the ropes with a Spinebuster Slam. Maxx Payne vs. The Jackal It didn't take long for this match to descend into chaos , with the Eagle and Big Juice getting involved in a brawl that resulted in another No Contest. They might not be in a Loser Leaves Town match at San Diego Battleground, but they can bet that Commissioner Dutch Savage has them on his Naughty List. Brian Pillman vs. Bobby Eaton An exciting high flying match that went to Flyin' Brian with the Air Pillman. Pacific Television Title Match : Shinya Hashimoto © vs. Dennis Condrey Hashimoto faced a tremendous challenge in the form of Loverboy Dennis, but was able to prevail with a German Suplex. Pacific Tag Team Title Match : Phoenix Rising (Toshiaki Kawada & Kensuke Sasaki) © vs. The Fighting Irish (Fit Finlay & Erin O'Grady) The Fighting Irish lived up to their name, with a ferocious match that the Japanese Team were only just able to survive with Kawada hitting a Brainbuster on O'Grady. Pacific Heavyweight Title Match : Ricky Steamboat © vs. Gary Albright Steamboat is about to face the most fearsome opponent of his Pacific Heavyweight Title reign, and certainly wasn't taking it easy on himself with this defense. Albright has gone the distance with both the California and Televisions champs in the past few weeks, and was clamoring for his first taste of PCW gold. Albright was relentless in his pursuit, hitting some jarring suplexes on Steamboat, and the fans were concerned that Steamboat would not be able to keep his hold on the title. But the Dragon was patient and able to weather out the storm, then started wearing down Albright with his own offense. He was able to lure Albright in attempting an Avalanche into the corner, only to dodge out of the way at the last second. He then hit a belly to back suplex on Albright and was just able to hold his shoulders down for the three count. An impressive defense, but will he be able to pull it off again in San Diego?
  5. Pacific Wrestling Showcase from the Olympic Auditorium , Los Angeles , on ESPN / TSN, November 22nd The Dreamboats (Tommy Dreamer & Glamour Boy Shane) vs. The Southern Boys The Dreamboats are headed towards possibly the biggest match of their career, with a title match at San Diego Battleground against the Midnight Express that could be their final shot at the Golden State Tag Team Titles. They couldn't have picked tougher opposition for their last match before their shot, facing off with the former Pacific Tag Team champs. It was certainly a gritty match, with both teams hitting hard and often. The turning point in the match came when the Suicide Blondes crept down to the ring. Steve Armstrong was up on the top rope, looking to hit a flying clothesline, but Candido and Spicolli had gone behind him and shoved him hard, sending him crashing to the mat. Glamour Boy Shane hadn't seen that, but saw the after effect and went up top to hit the Glamour Profession (diving elbow smash) for the win. After the match, Trisa Hayes filled Dreamer and Shane in on what had happened, and the team were clearly steamed at the unwanted interference. Bam Bam Bigelow vs. Mike Awesome Ever since is arrival in Pacific Coast Wrestling, Mike Awesome has dominated nearly everyone he has faced. On the road to his Loser Leaves Town showdown with Scott Hall, Awesome faces his toughest opponent yet : The Beast From The East. Bigelow gave him a ferocious battle, and the fans were on the edge of their seats to see who would come out on top. Awesome was unable to get Bigelow up for the Awesome Bomb, but was finally able to send him to the mat with an Axe Bomber out of the corner. Awesome went up top and landed the Awesome Splash for an incredibly hard fought victory. Steve Blackman vs. Steve Austin Austin came out ready to roll against the always dangerous Lethal Weapon, not about to take any prisoners before his final duel with Bret Hart. Blackman was not intimidated by the Stunning One, but no matter what he threw at Austin, the tough Texan was relentless , taking out Blackman with the Stun Gun. Bret Hart is in for the fight of his life as Austin is out to prove himself. Brian Lee & Dustin Rhodes vs. The Sin City Superstars (Mark Starr & Reno Riggins) Lee and Rhodes have not been on the same page for a considerable while, but had best be getting in synch with their PCW careers on the line at San Diego Battleground. They seemed to have forged a bit of a truce, smoothly tagging in and out and working in tandem against the Superstars. Starr and Riggins, facing their own crossroads in San Diego, did what they could to cut corners and get an advantage. But the Brigade team could not be denied, with Rhodes taking down Riggins with a Running Bulldog Headlock and Lee holding off Starr. Here's hoping they can keep it together through next week. Vic Steamboat vs. Terry Gordy The Terror Collective has been unstoppable up and down the West Coast, and Terry Gordy in particular has been ravenous in his quest to regain the Pacific Heavyweight Title he once held in such a dominant fashion. He seemed to be making a bit of a statement in facing the brother of the current champion, and absolutely wrecked the Demon with devastating power moves. He was utterly dominant in this match, not even breaking a sweat as he folded up the younger Steamboat in a Power Bomb. The Dragon's Pacific Heavyweight Title reign may well be in jeopardy going into San Diego Battleground.
  6. Poor Marty ... wouldn't want to cross swords with Haku under any circumstances.
  7. So, normally , we wouldn't be announcing this until next week, but we couldn't wait. We are two weeks away from PCW's final Mega Show for 1989, and we are pleased as punch to release the full card for both nights of San Diego Battleground. Pacific Coast Wrestling San Diego Battleground Night One from the San Diego Sports Arena, San Diego Eddie Guerrero vs. Erin O'Grady Loser Leaves Town Match : The Suicide Blondes (Chris Candido & Louie Spicolli) vs. The Southern Boys Loser Leaves Town Match : Brian Pillman vs. Chris Adams Three Way Pacific Tag Team Title Match : Phoenix Rising (Toshiaki Kawada & Kensuke Sasaki) © vs. The Destruction Crew vs. The Can-Am Express Pacific Light Heavyweight Title Match : Scotty The Body vs. Dragon Azul Maxx Payne & Wings Of Fire (Vic Steamboat & The Eagle) vs. The Jackal & The Juice Crew (Beetlejuice & Big Juice) Cage Match : Steve Blackman vs. Masahiro Chono Pacific Submission Title Cage Match : Fit Finlay © vs. Dean Malenko Loser Leaves Town Cage Match : Scott Hall vs. Mike Awesome Cage Match : Bret Hart vs. Steve Austin Pacific Coast Wrestling San Diego Battleground Night Two from the San Diego Sports Arena, San Diego Double Jeopardy Loser Leaves Town Match : Stormfront (Alex Porteau & Al Snow) vs. The Sin City Superstars (Mark Starr & Reno Riggins) Dan Severn vs. Genichiro Tenryu Shane Douglas & Jerry Lynn vs. Big Bully Busick & Dennis Condrey Loser Of The Fall Leaves Town Match : Steven Regal & Cactus Jack vs. Iron & Steel (Tony Atlas & Larry Cameron) Pacific Television Title Match : Shinya Hashimoto © vs. Buddy Rose Loser Of The Fall Leaves Town Match : Barry Windham, Brian Lee, Dustin Rhodes & Billy Gunn vs. Ted Dibiase, Steve Williams, Gary Albright & David Young 2/3 Falls Golden State Tag Team Title Match : The Midnight Express © vs. The Dreamboats (Tommy Dreamer & Glamour Boy Shane) Pacific Heavyweight Title Match : Ricky Steamboat © vs. Terry Gordy
  8. Pacific Coast Wrestling show from the Selland Arena, Fresno, November 17th Brian Pillman vs. Chris Adams While Pillman has held the upper hand for much of this feud, it was Adams who prevailed in this match with his deadly Superkick. Dan Severn vs. Tracy Smothers This was a very close match, where it took considerable effort for Severn to force Smothers to tap out to the Fujiwara Armbar. Jerry Lynn vs. Phil Lafon Lynn came back from his earlier loss and defeated the Can-Am Express member with a Package Piledriver. Scott Hall vs. Steve Armstong Hall seemed to be trying to inspire his fellow Brigade members as he handily beat Armstrong with the Gator Breaker (Fallaway Slam). Golden State Tag Team Title Match : The Midnight Express © vs. Eddie Guerrero & Dean Malenko The Midnights faced possibly their most fearsome challenge yet, as they squared off with the incredibly technically gifted duo of Guerrero and Malenko. They battled back with plentiful skullduggery and dirty poker, able to keep the pace with their challengers and go to a 20 minute time limit draw. California Title Match : Steven Regal © vs. Masahiro Chono These two were incredibly evenly match, with both being well versed in technical wrestling as well as being hard as a coffin nail. After a gripping match, Regal emerged triumphant with the Regal Plex.
  9. Pacific Coast Wrestling show from the Cow Palace , San Francisco, on Pacific Super Cards on ESPN / TSN, November 16th Shane Douglas vs. Mark Starr Starr did a bit better in his match, but went down in defeat when Douglas hit a Frankensteiner. Dustin Rhodes vs. Terry Gordy Rhodes put in a brave and determined effort, going toe to toe with the number one contender, but Gordy kicked into high gear and pinned Dustin following a high angle belly-to-back suplex. Steve Blackman vs. Buddy Rose Blackman did well against the Playboy until Tina Ferrari engineered him taking a tumble to the outside. He wasn't really able to get back in the game after that, and Rose lured him into the Inside Out Backbreaker for the win. Pacific Television Title Match : Shinya Hashimoto © vs. Gary Albright Once again, Albright went to a draw with a singles champ, in this case a double countout with the two brawling in the aisle. Phoenix Rising (Toshiaki Kawada & Kensuke Sasaki) & Bret Hart vs. The Destruction Crew & Steve Austin There were many instances of Hart and Austin slugging it out in this match, but it was Kawada who got the pin after a Brainbuster on Enos. Pacific Heavyweight Title Match : Ricky Steamboat © vs. David Young Young got a rematch with the champ, and was displaying even more confidence this time out, no doubt buoyed by his impressive showing in the first challenge. Young continued to impress, keeping things even with the champ before Steamboat pulled it out with the Diving Cross Body Press.
  10. Pacific Wrestling Showcase from the Oakland Alameda County Arena, Oakland, on ESPN / TSN, November 15th Cactus Jack vs. Joe Dowdle While no match has as yet been announced, you can bet that Cactus is headed for a confrontation with Iron & Steel at San Diego Battleground. He certainly made a statement to Atlas and Cameron with this match, tossing poor Dowdle around like a ragdoll before polishing off the rookie with a Double Arm DDT. Iron & Steel may well be wondering if drawing the fury of the man from Truth Or Consequences is worth the money. Interview : Don Coss stands in the ring Coss : Ladies and gentlemen, my next guests are headed towards an epic confrontation at San Diego Showdown … the Brigade! The crowd cheers as Barry Windham, Scott Hall, Billy Gunn, Brian Lee and Dustin Rhodes head out to the ring, but the Brigade are decidedly dour in disposition. Brian Lee, in particular, has an especially sour expression on his face. Windham : If you don't mind, Don, I think we need to take care of this ourselves. *Coss agreeably hands Windham the microphone* OK, I am going to get right down to brass tacks … what the hell is wrong with you, Lee? *Brian Lee bristles* You have been sandbagging our matches with the Terror Collective, and even walked out of the end of your last tag match, leaving Dustin to fend for himself. What is your deal? Lee : Hey, I didn't pick no fight with the Terror Collective, and I didn't ask to be saddled with this dead weight! *now Rhodes gives him the evil eye* I joined the Brigade because I was told you were the best of the best and I thought it would be a good way to make a name for myself. Now I find myself in endless damn matches with the Terror Collective. I proved I can win matches on my own, so I have no patience with being dragged down by Rhodes here. He got taken down by the Terror Collective, I saw there was no chance I could pull his fat out of the fire, so I left him to his own devices. Rhodes : Now hold on! I have done my best , and I have gotten wins too. But we're facing the Terror Collective, and it's hard enough to win, but it's impossible if I don't have any support from my partner. Hall : Cut it out, the pair of you! Do you understand what is at stake here? We are going into the match at San Diego Battleground where the loser of the fall will be out of PCW. And I won't be in the match with you ! * shocked looks from the other members of the Brigade * That's right, I am booked in a Loser Leaves Town Cage Match with Mike Awesome. So I won't be able to help you, and you won't be able to help me. So we need everyone to pull together, otherwise, it could be the end for the Brigade. Can you do that? Lee : I swear to you, Scott … at San Diego Battleground, I will go all out. Jerry Lynn vs. Dennis Condrey As announced, these two will be facing each other in a tag match at San Diego Battleground , along with their partners Shane Douglas and Big Bully Busick. Lynn was certainly full of pep and vigour, throwing a lot of fast flying moves at the veteran Condrey. It proved to be the razor sharp instincts of Condrey that spelled the difference . Loverboy Dennis caught Lynn attempting a running cross body and turned it around into a shoulder breaker for the win. Lynn and Douglas will really need to up their game if they want to survive against Jim Cornette's men. Wings Of Fire (Vic Steamboat & The Eagle) vs. The Juice Crew (Beetlejuice & Big Juice) This was another bizarre match. Beetlejuice was once again in a plain singlet, and was barely wearing any facepaint. Even more strangely, the Sinister Minister seemed to be guiding Beetlejuice to keep his time in the ring as brief as possible, leaving most of the heavy lifting to Big Juice. The trap seemed to be sprung when the Jackal rushed out to the ring and savagely attacked Vic Steamboat. Very soon after, Maxx Payne charged out to slug it out with the Jackal, causing the ref to declare a No Contest. The two sides brawled until security came out to separate them, except for Beetlejuice, whose absence was conspicuous from the post match fray. Bam Bam Bigelow vs. Reno Riggins The Sin City Superstars can't seem to catch a break. The Beast From The East steamrolled over poor Riggins, hitting every power move in his considerable arsenal before crushing him with an Atomic Splash. Riggins and Starr must me looking with concerns at their prospects of staying in Pacific Coast Wrestling. Ted Dibiase & Steve Williams vs. Stormfront (Al Snow & Alex Porteau) The Superstars' rivals Stormfront had just about as bad of a draw in facing the Juggernaut that is the Terror Collective. They did somewhat better in their match, keeping just out of range of Dibiase and Williams' attacks and connecting on some double team moves. Their time ran out when Williams bowled over Porteau with a thundering running tackle. Dibiase followed up with the Power Driver Fistdrop , and the Collective had scored another victory.
  11. Glad to see you back. Great start, awesome chaotic ending. Can't see where you go from here.
  12. And he bore an uncanny resemblance to Captain Kangaroo.
  13. Konnan is showing still on the free agent list but I believe is now on the AWA roster.
  14. New champs in the Rock & Rolls! My man Burke got robbed, he is certainly owed a rematch. Karachi Vice, the Moondogs, Taker/Black Blood and Canek/Konnan has the makings of a super fun 4 way feud.
  15. Pacific Coast Wrestling show from McArthur Court, Eugene, November 10th Shane Douglas vs. Dennis Condrey Throughout the match, Cornette kept trying to cajole his bodyguard Big Bully Busick to intervene in the match, but Busick responded with nothing more than an annoyed glare. Despite the distractions from ringside, the veteran Condrey was able to catch Douglas in the Full Nelson Facebuster for the victory. The Dreamboats (Tommy Dreamer & Glamour Boy Shane) vs. The Fighting Irish (Fit Finlay & Erin O'Grady) The Dreamboats were clearly buoyed by the announcement of their Golden State Tag Title shot , and let that energize them to a victory over the Irish, with Shane taking out O'Grady with the Glamour Profession (top rope diving elbow smash). Billy Gunn vs. Ted Dibiase Dibiase showed that his self confidence is well placed, defeating Gunn with the Power Driver Fistdrop. Scott Hall vs. Big Juice Once again, the Sinister Minister kept pushing his man to use rough tactics in this match. Big Juice dutifully obeyed, and he got in some hard shots on Hall. The Gator fought back hard and was able to pull out the win with the Gator Breaker (Fallaway Slam). California Title Match : Steven Regal © vs. Gary Albright Perhaps inspired by his partner Dave Young's challenge the day before, Albright took it hard to the English Lion, battering him with power moves and weardown holds. Regal toughed it out and scored his own shots, but couldn't do enough to get a decisive victory, and the match went to a 20 minute time limit draw. Golden State Tag Team Title Match : The Midnight Express © vs. Wings Of Fire (Vic Steamboat & The Eagle) The evening closed out with a fast paced tag title bout. The Midnights weren't about to let the Dreamboats show them up, and pulled out every trick in their encyclopedia sized book against Wings Of Fire. A well placed tennis racquet shot from Cornette left Vic Steamboat vulnerable to the Veg-O-Matic, and the Midnight Express emerged triumphant.
  16. Pacific Coast Wrestling show from the Portland Memorial Coliseum , Portland , on Pacific Super Cards on ESPN / TSN, November 9th Cactus Jack vs. Mark Starr Starr's woes continue as the Madman from Truth Or Consequences went wild on him, destroying him with the Double Arm DDT Jerry Lynn vs. Mike Awesome Lynn put in a valiant effort but was overpowered by Awesome and his Awesome Bomb. Steve Blackman vs. Terry Gordy The top contender took on the Lethal Weapon in a thrilling match that went back and forth before Gordy exploded out of the corner with a huge clothesline , bowling over Blackman and leaving him easy prey for a high angle belly to back suplex. Stormfront (Al Snow & Alex Porteau) vs. Buddy Rose & Scotty The Body Stormfront did a much better job than the Sin City Superstars have been of late, but the trickery of the senior members of the Playboy Club turned out to be too much to overcome, with a low blow from behind by Scotty on Porteau set him up for the Inside Out Backbreaker by Rose. Pacific Tag Team Title Match : Phoenix Rising (Kensuke Sasaki & Toshiaki Kawada) © vs. The Suicide Blondes (Chris Candido & Louie Spicolli) The Suicide Blondes continued to show improvement, despite their continuing disrespect for the rules. They held their own against the champs before Kawada was able to take out Candido with a Brainbuster. Pacific Heavyweight Title Match : Ricky Steamboat © vs. David Young After his impressive performance in the six man tag team match last week, the Terror Collective leveraged that into getting David Young a shot at the Pacific Heavyweight Title. The rookie was full of enthusiasm and was clearly gunning for the champion. Nevertheless, he seemed to understand that his main job was to do as much damage as possible to the champ, a role he took to with great relish. Steamboat had to dig in deep to withstand the furious assault for the Oregon Wrecking Crew member, and just barely avoided his dreaded Spinebuster Slam. It took nearly all Steamboat had to get him over in a Tiger Suplex, but he was able to hold him down for the three count and successfully defend his title.
  17. Pacific Wrestling Showcase from the Portland Sports Arena, Portland , on ESPN / TSN, November 8th Brian Lee vs. Reno Riggins Riggins got a real scare last week, with Commissioner Dutch Savage informing him and Mark Starr that the Sin City Superstars' San Diego Battleground match would be Double Jeopardy and their time with PCW may well be coming to an end. Not a great time to be facing a newly resurgent and aggressive Brian Lee. The Bulldozer ran over Starr, tossing him around the ring like a sack of dirty laundry before planting him with the Prime Time Slam. Not a good omen for Starr. Eddie Guerrero vs. Beetlejuice Lately, Beetljuice has taken a strangely normal turn, wearing a straightforward singlet instead of his usual ragged gear. For this match, he was noticeably wearing much less facepaint than he had before. Odder still, the Sinister Minister was much more reserved, being mostly silent for the match and watching with intense focus as Beetlejuice squared off with his former partner. This wound up being an actual technical duel, and it was mostly even throughout the match until Guerrero trapped Beetlejuice in La Majistral for the win. Despite the loss, the Minister had his arm around Beetlejuice's shoulder as they left the ring, nodding thoughtfully as they walked to the locker room. Interview : Don Coss stands in the Crow's Nest with Dutch Savage standing beside him. Coss : *nervously* Errrr, my next guests are … coming out next … Jim Cornette and The Midnight Express! The crowd boos loudly as Jim Cornette leads Stan Lane, Bobby Eaton, Dennis Condrey and Big Bully Busick to the Crow's Nest. They are all laughs and confidence, apart from a glowering Busick. Cornette : Well , if it isn't Big Dutch! The man so tall, he grew higher than his hair! I am sure you are planning some big announcement for us. But I know one thing you won't be saying … anything about some sort of stupid Loser Leaves Town stipulation! You see, my mother only hires the best lawyers, and unlike that goofball Buddy Rose, they aren't given days off. So there is no way they are going to let any of my boys have their livelihoods put on the line. Savage : Well … you are right on that count. Your mother's lawyers have been a complete pain in the neck, and Loser Leaves Town was off the table. *Cornette cackles with glee* But Pacific Coast Wrestling has some pretty good lawyers too, and only gave up that stipulation through getting major concessions. So this is how it will go. Earlier in the card at San Diego Battleground, Dennis Condrey and Big Bully Busick will have a tag team match against Shane Douglas and Jerry Lynn. Once that match is finished, they get to enjoy the rest of the night enjoying the hot spots of San Diego. Because after that match, they are barred from the arena, particularly during the Midnight Express match. If they show either hide or hair of themselves after that, they will be fired immediately from PCW. *Condrey and Busick eye each other warily* As for the Golden State Tag Team Title defense between the Midnight Express and the Dreamboats , it will be two out of three falls with no time limit. And furthermore, not only are Condrey and Busick barred from the arena, but you, Jim Cornette, will be handcuffed at ringside to Trisa Hayes! Cornette : *sputtering* What? WHAT? That trollop! That hoyden! My mother strictly forbids me from even going near women like that! I am going to immediately call my mother's lawyers to get this overturned! Savage : Her lawyers have already signed the contracts. This is a done deal. Time to man up … if you can. The Jackal vs. Maxx Payne The Minister may have been quieter in the earlier Beetlejuice match, but was back to his loud cantankerous self for this bout. On his orders, the Jackal ambushed Maxx Payne before the match started, knocking the big man to the match and raining elbow shots to the back of his skull. Payne had been in a bit of a slump lately, but this attack seemed to reignite a fire in him, and he was able to start firing back at the masked man. It didn't take too long for the match to go out of control, with the ref declaring the match a no contest. Speaking of not a great time for this to happen … Iron & Steel (Tony Atlas & Larry Cameron) vs. Jerry Sims & Spencer Duhm The team of Atlas and Cameron have been quite dominant since their return to PCW, and look to be headed towards some kind of showdown with Cactus Jack and Steven Regal at San Diego Battleground. They used this match as a show of force, jackhammering the two rookies with power moves before crushing Sims with a Spike Piledriver. Oddly, there were some cheers mixed in with the boos. Regardless, they are coming into San Diego Battleground with considerable momentum. Interview : Don Coss stands in the Crow's Nest with Dutch Savage standing beside him. Coss : Ladies and gentlemen, my next guests are headed towards some very big matches at San Diego Battleground … the Terror Collective! Just straight boos and jeers as Ted Dibiase, Terry Gordy, Steve Williams , Gary Albright and David Young strut to the Crow's Nest. Dibiase : Commissioner Dutch … it seems like you have something you want to say to us. Well, you've got nothing on the Terror Collective. Unlike these other peons you are dealing with us, we get our business taken care of inside the ring. Savage : You'd think so, huh? Well, to give the devil your due, you haven't been as much of a problem lately as others have been. But I have a very good memory. Before you arrived in PCW, you were behind all of that nonsense with the arena lights and harassing Barry Windham. Not to mention your outside attack ultimately leading to Billy Jack Haynes being run out of Pacific Coast. And to top it all off, I have had enough of your squabbles with the Brigade. So Terry Gordy, you earned your shot at Ricky Steamboat and the Pacific Heavyweight Title … congratulations. You have earned your safety . As for the rest of you … you will be facing the Brigade in an 8 man tag match at San Diego Battleground. The loser of that fall will be out of PCW. If I could, I would be rid of all of you, but this will do for now. Albright and Young in particular look concerned, but Dibiase holds up a hand. Dibiase : Men, this is nothing to be concerned about. The Brigade are falling to pieces and are hardly any threat to us. This will just be another jewel in our crown. And an even bigger jewel will come later in the night, as my man Terry here will trounce Ricky Steamboat for the Pacific Heavyweight Title! Gordy : Steamboat, I was the most dominant Heavyweight champ in this history of Pacific Coast Wrestling. You took my belt from me, and for years I have been waiting to get my revenge. Hope you have been having a good time as pretender to my title, because it is all going to come to an end in San Diego. I've got several years of frustration to take out, and I am going to take it all out on your face! Three weeks, Steamboat, and the clock strikes midnight. Get ready for a new champion … the one true champion. Vic Steamboat vs. Steve Austin Another wrestler who has found himself drawing some cheers along with the boos has been "Stunning" Steve Austin. He had initial support from the fans upon his debut in PCW, but it quickly turned against him upon his betrayal of his former mentor, Bret Hart . Lately , though, there has been an element of the crowds who have been drawn by his cocky, Go To Hell style, and they have become more vocal as time has gone on. Diamond Dallas Page was his usual boisterous self at ringside, but this time, Austin looked a bit pained at the constant stream of bragging and chatter. Vic Steamboat gave him a good fight, but Austin worked hard to keep his focus, and caught the Demon coming off the ropes with a Stun Gun for the win. Austin is staying competitive in the lead up to his big cage match with the Hitman.
  18. Jason Broyles then drop.
  19. PCW takes Chris Hamrick and David Cash.
  20. Whose got the stuff? WWF has the Stuff!
  21. First 4 picks : Chris Jericho, Lance Storm, Sean Waltman, RVD
  22. Pacific Coast Wrestling show from the Kelowna Memorial Arena, Kelowna, November 3rd Steve Blackman vs. Big Bully Busick Busick seemed quite annoyed by Jim Cornette's constant dialogue at ringside, but still kept his focus and, despite a game effort from Blackman, took the win with the Bully Breaker (hangman neckbreaker). Cactus Jack vs. Tony Atlas More furious brawling between these two, leading to a double countout. Scott Hall & Dustin Rhodes vs. The Sin City Superstars (Mark Starr & Reno Riggins) Hall showed a lot of encouragement to Dustin, and Rhodes was able to score the win with a running bulldog headlock on Riggins, closing out a very bad weekend for the Sin City Superstars. California Title Match : Steven Regal © vs. Dennis Condrey Condrey was very determined to avenge his loss to Regal in the Tournament Of Lions Finals. It wound up being for not when Tony Atlas and Larry Cameron charged to ring to attack Regal, resulting in a DQ decision. Cactus Jack came out with a chair to rescue Regal, but you could tell that Cornette and Condrey were incredibly displeased by the interference of Iron & Steel. Dean Malenko & Eddie Guerrero vs. The Fighting Irish (Fit Finlay & Erin O'Grady) Malenko and Guerrero continued to gel together as a team, and the former rivals had a gripping match with the Irishmen. Malenko was able to hold back Finlay, allowing Gerrero to roll up O'Grady in a sunset flip and score the pinfall. Golden State Tag Team Title Match : The Midnight Express © vs. Stormfront (Al Snow & Alex Porteau) After all of the craziness over the weekend, this match was blissfully free of outside interference, apart from the motormouth of Jim Cornette. Unlike the Sin City Superstars, Stormfront kept their heads in the match and gave the Golden State Champs a real scare before Eaton's Alabama Jam on Porteau put an end to their challenge.
  23. Pacific Coast Wrestling show from the Pacific Coliseum, Vancouver on Pacific Super Cards on ESPN / TSN , November 2nd Barry Windham vs. Larry Cameron Windham is gearing up for San Diego Battelground by taking on a double tough opponent in one half of Iron & Steel. The was an incredibly hard hitting match, but Windham was able to finally put Cameron down with as Western Lariat. Shane Douglas & Jerry Lynn vs. The Southern Boys Douglas and Lynn gave a very good showing against the former Pacific Tag Team champs, but Smothers took down Lynn with a Spinning Back Fist to pull out the win. Maxx Payne vs. Steve Williams Williams continued to stampede over the opposition, defeating big Maxx Payne with the Doctor Bomb. Pacific Tag Team Title Match : Phoenix Rising (Toshiaki Kawada & Kensuke Sasaki) © vs. The Juice Crew (Beetlejuice & Big Juice) Big Juice brought his trademark chaos to the match, but it was a more serious Beetlejuice, once again wearing a standard singlet rather than his usual ragged gear. The acquitted themselves well, but the champions prevailed with Kawada executing a Brainbuster on Big Juice. Bret Hart, Brian Pillman & Bam Bam Bigelow vs. Chris Adams & The Destruction Crew Much of this match involved Pillman going at it Fist & Fire with Adams, but Bigelow was the one to take the win with a Slingshot Splash on Bloom. Ricky Steamboat & Wings Of Fire (Vic Steamboat & The Eagle) vs. Terry Gordy & The Oregon Wrecking Crew There were some ferocious exchanges between Ricky Steamboat and Terry Gordy during this match, however the finish wound up being David Young defeating Vic Steamboat with the Spinebuster Slam.
  24. Pacific Wrestling Showcase from the Victoria Memorial Arena, Victoria, on ESPN / TSN, November 1st Dragon Azul vs. Dan Kay In his time in PCW, Dragon Azul has steadily built up a reputation as a Light Heavyweight to watch, thrilling the fans with exciting performances every time he has stepped in the ring. The rookie Kay didn't put up much of a fight, but that didn't keep Dragon from unleashing some spectacular moves, including a corkscrew moonsault to finish the match. The masked star is making a solid case for a shot at Scotty The Body's Pacific Light Heavyweight Title. Interview : Don Coss stands in the ring with Dutch Savage standing beside him. Savage : Hope you don't mind, Don, I am going to be sitting in on the next few of these interviews you do. Coss : Errrrr, no problem at all, Mr. Commissioner! So, uh, I guess, my next guests are … well, you know who they are … The Playboy Club! The fans erupt into boos as the Playboy Club make their way to the ring. Mark Starr and Reno Riggins are laughing and taking nothing seriously, but while Mike Awesome's usual cocky smile is toned down to a smirk, Tina Ferrari held herself with clear tension, Scotty The Body looks wary and Buddy Rose seems uncharacteristically grim. Unusually, he has nothing to say when they get the ring, so PCW Commissioner Dutch Savage is the first to speak. Savage : Well, I never thought I would say this, but here we are … just the men I wanted to speak to! Specifically, you two … Riggins and Starr. The so-called Sin City Saints. I told you time and time again that I was reaching my limit with you idiots, and at Calgary Combat, you pushed me too far. That match with you and Stormfront was a disgrace. I gave you plenty of warnings, and now I am dropping the hammer. I am sick to death of both of you teams and I never want to see any of you again. I said that the theme of San Diego Battleground would be the Last Chance Saloon. And for you, I have something special planned. You see, you and Stormfront will have a unique kind of match. It will not only be Loser Leaves Town, but it will be Double Jeopardy. What that means is that the losing team will immediately be gone from Pacific Coast Wrestling. The winning team … well, the pain won't be over for them yet. You see, right after that match, they will immediately have to face each other in a singles match. The loser of that match will also be gone from PCW. The remaining wrestler … well, hopefully they have learned a lesson they won't forget. * Riggins and Starr are shocked, but try to come back with bravado * Riggins : Yeah, that's what you think! The Playboy Club have the best lawyers in the world on retainer, and there is no way the Playboy is going to let any of this go through! Rose : Ummmmmmmm, actually …. No. * Riggins and Starr go from shocked to full on stunned* Much as I hate to admit it, Savage is right. This has gone too far. I've indulged you to a certain extent, you have generally done what I have asked of you. But you haven't really helped the bottom line of the Playboy Club. Riggins : Hey , we won the Pacific Tag Team Titles! Rose : That was quite some time ago, Riggins, and that wasn't you. Scotty was Mark's partner when that happened, and I am starting to think that he was the one carrying that team. He has kept on bringing gold to the Club, while you have brought fines we have had to pay. I stood by you and paid your bills, but the ride on the Buddy Rose gravy train is over. Money that we could have spent on champagne and lobster has instead been drained from our wallets because you just couldn’t keep from getting caught. This match is going to happen, and when it is done , one or both of you will go back home to England and …. Reno or wherever the hell it is you are from. If either of you are left at the end of this, there may be a place in the Playboy Club for you. But you are going to have to work hard to get yourself back into my good graces. Starr : But Boss … Rose : Enough. Your time is up. End of discussion. The Suicide Blondes (Chris Candido & Louie Spicolli) vs. The Can-Am Express The Suicide Blondes have disappointed a lot of their fans with their increasingly unscrupulous tactics of late. For what it is worth, they have kept it down to a dull roar and escaped the notice of Dutch Savage, but they certainly took plenty of shortcuts in their match with the Can-Ams. They did incredibly well in this match, keeping it close until Lafon hit an incredible diving reverse body press on Spicolli and got the win. Credit where it is due, the Blondes still managed a very impressive showing against the former Pacific Tag Team champs. Dan Severn vs. Mark Starr This hits just kept on coming for Starr, as he had to face the two time former Pacific Submission champ. Tellingly, both Tina Ferrari and Reno Riggins were absent from ringside, and Starr had to go it completely alone. Starr is actually quite an accomplished technical wrestler when he bothers to be, but he just couldn't get his head in the game. Severn dominated him with ease, forcing him to tap out to a Bodyscissors Sleeper. Starr had best wake up soon if he wants to stay in PCW. Billy Gunn vs. Terry Gordy Hot off his big win in the Calgary Combat Battle Royal and headed towards a meeting with Pacific Heavyweight champion Ricky Steamboat, Gordy rode his momentum into this match and rolled over Billy Gunn. Gunn certainly tried, but Gordy was far too much to contain, defeating the genial Texan with a brutal Power Bomb. You can certainly bet that Steamboat is watching this match with concern. Interview : Don Coss stands in the ring with Dutch Savage standing beside him. Coss : My next guest will be in one of the big main events at San Diego Battleground … "Stunning" Steve Austin! Austin and "Diamond" Dallas Page are greeted by substantial boos, but some cheers for Austin can also be heard. Stunning Steve is his usual cocky self, but DDP seems especially full of himself. DDP : Well, if it isn't the dirty Dutch boy! I know what you are going to tell me, so you might as well get it over with : the cage match at San Diego Battleground between my man here and Bret Hart is going to be Loser Leaves Town, so the fans better stock up on hankies for their tears when they wave bye bye to the Hitscum! Savage : Ummmmmmmm, actually …. No. * DDP and Austin are caught off guard * The match at San Diego Battleground will be a cage match, and it will be the last match between the two, but it won't be Loser Leaves Town. Bret Hart drew the line at that, and he is worth too much to Pacific Coast Wrestling to make an issue of it with him. DDP : Ha! I knew it! Hart is a yellow livered coward, and he knew he had no choice against Stunning Steve! Savage : Far from it. Hart said quite clearly that he didn't want it to be Steve Austin's last chance in PCW and that he didn't want to rob the fans of getting to see Steve's talent in the ring. For once, Austin is caught speechless, but DDP was more than willing to fill the space. DDP : That's what he says! If you ask me, he is just plain afraid! Savage : Whatever. It seems like Bret Hart still has some faith in you, Steve. The question is : do you deserve it? Pacific Television Title Match : Shinya Hashimoto © vs. Reno Riggins The hits just kept on coming for the Sin City Superstars as Riggins stepped into the ring against the TV champ. This time out, Tina Ferrari, Scotty The Body and Buddy Rose were all at ringside, but they were clearly much more interested in observing Hashimoto than supporting Riggins. Like Starr, Riggins was clearly rattled by his earlier dressing down by the Playboy, and was careless throughout. He went for the Reno-Plex (Fisherman Suplex) far too early, and a swift and brutal DDT put an end to his challenge. After the match, Tina, Scotty and the Playboy were in deep discussion on the way back to the locker room, completely ignoring Riggins.
  25. DiSalvo hoisting Soultaker in a German Suplex would be very impressive to watch. Can't wait to see my man Leo Burke challenge the Red Rooster.
