  1. That's quite the hidden gem you're sitting on. It's from more of a distance than the rematch one (assuming you have the same handheld I have of that-haven't quite got to this yet) but definitely watchable qualitywise. If I ever get my ass into gear and figure out vhs conversion to my pc, I will of course make a copy available. The same tape also has the Windham/Rhodes match from the same night. I seem to recall the Sting title win being on a Scott Decker comp tape back in the day.
  2. He was special referee for one match.
  3. Oddly Wattsian finish for something that happened right after he left.
  4. Oh man I loved this match. I think I saw the full version once. Bellemo was surprisingly good, and Andre rules in tag bouts. I remember Buddy being the standout in the match. I saw this one ages ago on a CHV WWF Most Unusual Matches comp and since then have been trying to remember who all was in it.
  5. Was Bison Kimura always missing a front tooth and I failed to notice it, or did it get knocked out in this match?
  6. That sounds awesome, gotta try and track down that promo Don't think it was a promo, I believe it was during a match. I think it was in Memphis, Kerry got DQed for using a piledriver, Lawler said, "Hey, don't they have a rule in World Class where you lose the title on a DQ?" And Kerry replied, "That is true, but we also don't have any wimp rules like no piledrivers."
  7. It did for Rose and Summers, but that was only for certain types of countouts.
  8. I thought that was Rob "Sgt. Slaughter" Remus, but wikipedia says you are correct.
  9. Vladimir was the Snakes On A Train version of Nikita. Not even close to Nikita's physique and Nikita never had all that body hair (at least not in the ring). Ivan was pretty much wrestling for two.
  10. Scorching promo. I remember watching it and seeing this skinny guy with the goofball haircut and horn rimmed glasses and thought, "How was this guy the top heel?" Then he started talking and got concerned that he was going to crawl through the screen and give me what for. That good.
  11. OK, mine is a bit complicated. Initially when I started getting comps, I would watch a disc here and a disc there. Then I got organized and started watching sets from beginning to end. Then I got so many comps piling up that it was going to take forever before I got to them, so I took a variation on goodhelmet's suggestion of watching a different comp each day of the week by setting up a rotation system. Me being me, the rotation wound up growing mighty huge. Then I found there were some sets I wasn't getting to quick enough that I wanted to be able to possibly discuss on the board (namely the yearbooks) so I put them in what I call high rotation. I then added some other comps that I wanted to get through quickly to high rotation for various reasons. So now my system is I watch one disc from the regular rotation, then go through the high rotation, then the next comp in the regular rotation. No, this doesn't make much sense at this point. Here is where the rotation currently stands : Regular rotation Death of WCW Buddy Rose Steve Regal Eddie Gilbert Tracey Smothers Great Mutoh Stan Hansen Terry Funk Vader Kawada Bam Bam Bigelow Gary Hart International Jushin Liger Eddie Guerrero Chris Jericho High Rotation : 1992 Yearbook CMP 2 1993 Yearbook The Legend of Piper’s Pit 1996 Yearbook
  12. Buddy Rose is the new Dick Murdoch.

  21. IMSMR, these were Tijuana matches where Konnan had the booking. He had just gotten back from ECW, so he injected a huge amount of ECW style booking.
  22. Reed vs Murdoch .
  23. I know he'd been out for a while, but Beefcake looked really out of shape.
  24. Classic example is the Flair vs. Kerry cage match. Much of this story is supposed to be guest ref Michael Hayes, but Manning just has to get his face in every chance he gets.
  25. "All Wally Walrus was trying to do was to have a barbeque."
