  1. The scene comes up on a peaceful lake in the mountains of British Columbia. Sitting cross-legged on a pier is a man with long hair. He is wearing black pants, a black shirt, and a black leather jacket as well as sunglasses. He has his head lowered and appears to be deep in meditation. He raises his head, then slightly lowers his glasses, showing cold eyes. His faces slowly shifts to a slight, sinister smile. The shot fades to black and the text appears on the screen : Bringing his vision to PCW in 1988 … Cyrus The Virus!
  2. The scene comes up on an American flag waving in the breeze. The shot dissolves to a flying American eagle. It continues to dissolve to various Washington, DC patriotic sites. The Washington Monument. The Lincoln Memorial. The White House. Finally, the Capitol Building. The camera comes down to the Capitol Steps. Standing at the top of the steps are two muscular men with their arms folded. They both are wearing masks. One in the pattern of an American Flag, the other with a pattern of an Eagle. The shot fades to black and the text appears on the screen : Soaring over PCW in 1988 … The Force Of July!
  3. The scene comes up on Waikiki Beach. Sitting in a beach chair is "Playboy" Buddy Rose. He is wearing swimming trunks and sunglasses, and a pair of bikini clad beauties apply sun lotion to his considerable form. He holds a fruity tropical drink in his hand. He gives the trademark Buddy Rose grin to the camera. Rose : Greetings, PCW fans! It's good to be the Playboy! Just enjoying a well earned rest on the sunny sands of Waikiki along with my good friends from the Diamond Exchange. The camera turns and shows that , further along the beach, "Diamond" Timothy Flowers, "The Cuban Assassin" Angel Acevedo and Buzz Sawyer are all sitting in their own beach chairs with beers in their hands. Rose raises his drink in a toast to the Exchange, who raise their beers in response. Rose : As you can see, there is just me representing the Playboy Club today. But don't you think for a second that I don't have big plans. The Playboy all has a few tricks up his sleeve. And in 1988, Pacific Coast Wrestling will belong to the Playboy Club and the Diamond Exchange!
  4. The scene comes up on a run down building with a sign on the front that says CONDEMNED. One can hear the sound of sledgehammers at work. The camera goes into the building and one sees two powerfully built blonde men with sledgehammers knocking down a wall. They are wearing construction helmets and are bare chested apart from construction vests. The sweat is flying off them as they destroy the wall. They then notice the camera. They both hoist their sledgehammers over their shoulders and give a surly look to the camera. The shot fades to black and the text appears on the screen : Breaking into Pacific Coast Wrestling in 1988 … The Destruction Crew!
  5. The scene come up on back country roads in Alabama. Initially, it is quiet, but soon, a souped up car comes charging along the road, with a police car in hot pursuit. In the front of the car are two fair haired young men, hooting and hollering. "Suspicious Minds" by Elvis Presley plays loudly on the car stereo. It starts to look like the police car might just catch up, but the other car pulls a Bootleg turn and reverses direction. The police car attempts to do the same, but just ends up in a ditch. The two police get out of the car and have no choice but just stare at the other car as it vanishes into the distance. The shot fades to black and the text appears on the screen : Racing towards Pacific Coast Wrestling in 1988 … The Holly Cousins!
  6. The scene comes up in a beachside bar in Hawaii. It is full of happy revellers. Sitting at the bar are Curt Hennig and Barry Windham. Hennig is wearing a tropical shirt and white slacks, Windham jeans and a black t-shirt. Both men are holding beers, Windham has a couple of empties in front of him on the bar top. They turn to the camera, smiling. Hennig : Hello, PCW fans! It's been a big and busy year for the Brigade. I was able to win the Pacific Heavyweight Title from Nick Bockwinkel, and Barry here ran the One Man Gang out of town. Now, we did have some losses in the ranks. Konnan , Ron Simmons and Dingo Warrior all moved on to new opportunities, and I am sure they will go on to do incredible things. But don't worry. We are looking for new members and have some great prospects lined up. There are big things in store for the Brigade in 1988. Windham unsteadily puts his arm around Hennig's shoulder. Windham : (slurring) PCW, get ready for a surprise. Expect the unexpected! Hennig gives Windham a puzzled look, but goes back to smiling.
  7. My roster is on vacation until the new year, will retroactively explain the absence when I write up my shows for the new year. One thing to note is that Rod Price is part of the 1988 rookie draft, so would not be available to use until January 1st.
  8. Quick change of plans, instead of Scott Armstrong I will instead pick up Ted "Cheetah Kid" Petty. BTW, one correction with Free Agency. I see Chuck Taylor on the list, possibly due to confusion with Chaz Taylor. The only Chuck Taylor wrestler that I know of would not be available to wrestle as he was only born in 1986.
  9. Quick change of Schedule/Plans : Due to "The California Stud" Rod Price accepting a spot in the new Florida promotion, the tag team of Muscle Beach (Price and "Iron Man" Tommy Cairo) will not be appearing in Pacific Coast Wrestling as was previously announced. Who will be appearing in their stead? Stay tuned to find out!
  10. Going to drop Tommy Cairo, bring in Brian Lawler, Scott Armstrong, and Ron & Don Harris to replace the drafted and cut wrestlers. Quick note, Super Strong Machine is on the Free Agent list but I believe he has been picked up by MACW (AD can confirm or deny this).
  11. Ouch, that is some dirty work at the crossroads. Hope Medusa can bounce back from this.
  12. The scene opens up on a construction site. The camera circles around a bulldozer, catching it from several angles. Its mass and destructive power are clear even as it sits still. The camera then comes around to the front of the bulldozer. Standing in front of the blade is a tall man, dressed in bluejeans and bare chested but for a leather vest. He has long dark blonde hair and wears a bandana. One can sense his considerable strength as he stands with his arms folded. He seems quite fierce and imposing … until he breaks out into a grin and winks to the camera. The shot fades to black and the text appears on the screen : Looking to tear a path through PCW …. The Bulldozer!
  13. Just a thought about poor Jerry Bryant, I know he is retiring as of 1988, but I don't know if he would be really available even in a non-wrestling role, given his ALS.
  14. Have been in this game for 4 years and it's a huge amount of fun with a bunch of great people.
  15. PCW drops Cannonball Grizzly and Super Strong Machine and picks up Lou Perez.
  16. Also, Fabulous Moolah will be pretty much retired after the end of 1988.
  17. Also, Sid Eudy is going to the WWF for draft pick.
  18. Gary Young is going to AWA for his draft pick.
  19. Moving Akira Maeda, Teijo Khan, The Angel Of Death, and Brett Wayne Sawyer to free agency to make way for the 1988 draftees.
  20. Hoping for a Reed vs. Steamboat rematch. Two of my all time favorites.
  21. Bad News vs. The King is shaping up to be one of the most brutal feuds in the project and I love it!
  22. Why wait? Enjoy your first glimpse
  23. I looked it up and found that Mr. Hito had actually retired by this point. I had been planning on cutting him at the end of the year anyway, but having had the last matches of the year in PCW, if it is ok with everyone, I will move him from the active roster into a non wrestling role as Head Trainer for PCW.
  24. And that is it for PCW 1987. I know these shows are over a week early , but they were written and ready to go, so I figured why not. While the wrestlers and staff of Pacific Championship Wrestling spend December enjoying a well earned paid vacation on the sunny beaches of Hawaii, I will be hard at work, planning and writing the next year's PCW action so it will all be ready to go in the New Year. But that doesn't mean PCW will be silent. I have some hopefully fun things planned that will be posted in the meantime until regular PCW programming returns in January. And when it does, there will be all sorts of great matches, stories and surprises. What changes are in store for for the Army, the Brigade and the Knights Templar? What fresh nefarious scheme is the Playboy cooking up? Just who are the New Suicide Blondes? For that matter, who are the New Gold Exchange? And all sorts of incredible new stars. The Destruction Crew! Cyrus The Virus! The Holly Cousins! The Bulldozer! The Sin City Superstars! The Animal! Muscle Beach! The Hollywood Vampires! The Force Of July! Stay tuned to see it all in ... Pacific Coast Wrestling!
  25. Pacific Coast Wrestling show from the Kelowna Memorial Arena, Kelowna, December 4th Jeff Jarrett vs. Black Tiger Jarrett's last PCW match would be a Light Heavyweight showdown with Black Tiger, and he and the former Light Heavy champ got the night off to a rocking start. Jarrett went for the high risk move when he went up top for a flying cross body press, but Tiger rolled through and ended up on to for the three count. The fans gave a round of applause to Jarrett after the match, giving him a fond farewell. Doug Furnas vs. Cactus Jack The newest member of the Army faced off against the former Army member and founder of the Wild Things. Furnas might have wondered exactly just what he had signed up for as Cactus showed him just how wild he was. Furnas was able to catch Cactus coming off the ropes with a power slam , but it took considerable effort to bring down the man from Truth Or Consequences. Furnas had survived his trial by fire and come out on top. Leo Burke vs. "Diamond" Timothy Flowers A real hatred has built up between Leo Burke and the Diamond Exchange, and this match was a clear illustration of that. An out and out fight from the get go, it wound up going to a no contest when the ref was unable to keep control of the match, getting slugged by both competitors. PCW security had to be called out to separate the two. Pacific Tag Team Title Match : Coast 2 Coast (John Tatum & Jack Victory) © vs. The Bomb Squad (Chris Candido & Al Snow) Much like Curt Hennig the night before, Coast 2 Coast's first title defense would be against the former champions. Unlike Nick Bockwinkel's focused efforts, however, the Bomb Squad were very scattered in their offense, struggling to get on the same page with each other. When John Tatum collided with the referee, it seemed like the Squad would steal their titles back when Candido brought a chair into the ring. However, Al Snow, clearly still sickened by the carnage of the Jim Neidhart and Gary Young match from San Diego Battleground, decided "No more" and grabbed the chair from Candido. The two engaged in a tug of war , with Candido ultimately pulling the chair from Snow. But he hadn't noticed that Tatum had tagged out, and walked into a big boot to the midsection from Victory that forced him to drop the chair. He was then hit with a Victory-Plex and when the ref crawled over to count the pin, Snow simply looked on in disgust. After the match, Candido and Snow got into a shoving match until the rest of the Knights Templar rushed out. Backlund and Neidhart were clearly siding with Candido and, while there was a tense stare down , eventually Snow simply walked out on his own. It looks like the Knights Templar have lost another member. Pacific Light Heavyweight Title Match : Brian Pillman © vs. Robbie Brookside This was an exciting and fast paced high flying match for the hotly contested Light Heavyweight Title. Brookside gave Pillman a real run for his money, but Flyin' Brian was able to hit the Air Pillman for the win. California & Submission Title Match : Bob Backlund © vs. Barry Windham Night and PCW's season closed off with a titanic match between the leader of the Knights Templar and the former Pacific Heavyweight champ. After a long and intense battle, Windham hit a top rope dropkick to Backlund on the outside of the ring. Windham was just barely able to make it back into the ring in time, winning the match by countout but not the title.
