  1. Glad the Cornette response is posted as it is awesome. Bob has that air of believability to him that works so well. This is a man that is proud of what he has built for himself but he has enough dignity to not want to let the fans down at all costs including offering refunds if he is unsuccessful.
  2. Lawler responds to Bret and gives a heart felt great promo of his own telling Bret he is in his territory and laying down the law for their upcoming matches.
  3. What a great preview of how much of a cocky bastard Bret could be early in the decade. He gives a great promo here and the Lawler feud has so many facets of complexity to it to make it awesome.
  4. A lot of stuff going on for sure. I thought the opening matwork was the worst portion with the fluke pin. In watching, I didn't get the sense that Cutie was as much the clear weak link of her team compared to Kyoko getting beat at most junctures when she was paired up with Ozaki. Kong vs. Kansai were both the monsters on their team they needed to be and this certainly had a high pace of action that made the 60 minutes slide right by with memorable moments like the bum rush save and the spinning back fist from Aja. The triumphant final pin felt fitting to me and appropriate given the layout of the match. A really great match and a low end MOTYC for me but not one of the best matches I have ever seen. ****1/2
  5. http://placetobenation.com/ptbn-reaction-show-money-in-the-bank-2015/ Will is joined by Dylan Hales (Wrestling Culture), Kris Zellner (Exile on Badstreet), Pete (Titans of Wrestling) and Scott Criscuolo (P2B, Main Event) to run down the latest WWE special event. Who grabs the briefcase? Are New Day ready to lose the belts? Can Cena and Owens top their last match? Are Rollins and Ambrose still wrestling? Find out on the latest reaction show!!!
  6. Interesting to watch after the previous match but still really great. The opening arm work was good for me and built how over Misawa's elbow is. I wouldn't say he extensively sold the elbow down the stretch but that to me was the point. Kawada was defiant and really took it to Misawa but he didn't have that one knockout blow he could execute and Misawa was able to weather the storm and go on the offensive for most of the last 5-10 minutes of the match. Kawada looks courageous kicking out of some of Misawa's arsenal but Misawa is the man still here. ****1/4
  7. Incredible match. Hansen is superb here but I was expecting him to really carry things based on the latest All Japan Excite Series and I didn't get that sense here. Kobashi takes the fight to Hansen here and really goes full force into the boot which was amazing. He takes a beating but keeps coming back. After the strikes failed, he tries to do everything from pinning combinations to win. Hansens final knockout blow is defiant but shows that Kobashi was right there fighting to the bitter end which wins him over huge with the crowd. A tremendous match and a star making performance. *****
  8. Beautiful sendoff with the Destroyer and quite the moment watching him retire with the emotions being spread throughout his family and colleagues.
  9. This have really taken a turn for me. When it was two minutes of Eddie parading around and dancing with girls, that was one thing. Now it is him and Paul E setting up shop somewhere and they do the worst improv (I assume) imaginable with the onlookers they attract. These need to be heading somewhere fast and I am not optimistic they are.
  10. Who is Lex Luger was kind of a smart way in my eyes of presenting Lex as a face without it seeming too rushed. This empty arena promo worked for me and Lex spoke well.
  11. Another fun M-Pro match but this didn't have the over arching story that Delphin vs. Sasuke did. This had more showcase work and comedy mixed in with Naniwa but still showed how this style could be highly effective and entertaining when performed regularly. ***1/2
  12. Agree that Art is bad from what I have seen. The finish here was fun with the double turn and Perro attack bu the action up to it didn't do much for me at all. Panther seems kind of lost in the shuffle overall.
  13. Angle still is going strong and Lee is able to capture the title. Enjoying all of this immensely.
  14. Tunney on the phone seems odd as he deadpans talks about the support Luger has gained. This feels a little heavy handed and is my least favorite segment since Luger slammed Yoko. Luger really was dominating TV around this time in WWF land.
  15. The fireworks were so bizarre. Anyway, this really worked for me. There was some silliness and indy stand off but it never felt arbitrary because the core was built around wrestling and the heel performance of Delphin. Delphin was great here working over Sasuke but also feeding into his comebacks and putting an emphasis on his high flying comebacks. The first great M-PRo match for my money. ****
  16. Bart has a great look like one of those mountain men that runs a Karate gym in a southern town. This match seeing spunky Ishikawa was a mind bender for me considering how much of a bruiser he is even 4 years later. They have a really good match here and Vale is able to get in more strikes and range as the match advances. I liked the finish of one cardinal mistake from Ishikawa allowing Vale to choke him out. ***1/2
  17. This is where these hit me with a huge thud. This lasted FOREVER and nothing was really funny at all. It was the pizza shops clowning for the camera and no conceivable wrestling angle being built to.
  18. Awesome angle as Razor essentially turns face with the crowd cheering him on. Money Inc really has had a penchant in 1993 at turning heels faces between Hart and Razor.
  19. Good match but not the MOTY for me and I think on some days I may like steiners vs. Money Inc better. This is worked with a good pace but the fakeout ending did nothing for me where it has worked in instances like Bigelow vs. Bret. HBK wins this one to kind of definitively put an end to their feud. The wipeout Marty has when he dives to the floor on the finish is really well done. ***1/4
  20. I thought this was again fine and feels very 90's seeing Luger across America for his call to action.
  21. Fuchi fits in here well as a cranky bastard taking that young punk Akiyama to task with some down home gritty wrestling. The kawada vs. Misawa sections here are insanely heated and really get over their hatred of each other setting up the TC match coming up. Akiyama pinning FUchi felt like his biggest win to date and one of those rewarding moments to the viewer watching his rise up the ranks. ****
  22. Good action here and the moonsault was crazy followed by the Sting save. I look forward to watching this one again when we get to it on WTBBP.
  23. Sad to see what Barry has become here as on their best days in 1993, this could have been a MOTYC. Oh well, Flair is the champ once again.
  24. Feel like I am in between everyone. I did enjoy this more than Steiners/Money Inc. but they are close and this got really long in the double FIP section. The Blondes do have a good bit of offense that feels unique and has them working together as a team and the finish was a nice heel escape win done well. Roma continues to try but just be a dead man walking. Very good match but certainly one that can require some patience. ***1/2
