This packed a lot of punch for a 9 minute match. You had No Fear continue their track up the top and hammer Kobashi and the nose. Shiga took a beating but got some good comebacks with the missile dropkick. No Fear eventually is able to put him away and look impressive. ***1/2

I really enjoyed this with crowd pleasing spots, not falling into usual tropes, and mixing in some nice wrestling. Sal continues to be a good hype man for Guido and his sequence with Tajiri at the end was the highlight for me. ***1/4

Well, WCW has topped themselves again. THIS IS SO FREAKING BAD. Savage acts paranoid and Nash receives a massage. Torrie saying that Big Sexy is so smart at the end was just pitiful. This has been one of the worst built to main events I can recall seeing. Dreadful, dumpster fire stuff.

I actually thought this may be one of their better matches together as it was basic brawling but everything was hit well and crowd was red hot. The tease on the first stunner was also well done as the camera doesn't show Bearer in the frame until he pulls the ref out. Austin regains the title to a huge pop. ***

Holy shit was this bad. Everyone runs into Nash's taser as he escapes with a giddy Torrie. The visual of Sting in the hummer driver seat looks pretty cool but why the fuck would he do that if he didn't want to create all of this suspicion to himself. Nash really tries to put himself over as a courageous babyface overcoming the odds and being the smartest guy in the room.

Nash was really rough here and seemed to think that the crowd that actually did show up cheering him and finishing his catch phrases as him being insanely over. This main event sounds dreadful.

I thought Ric was saying Be like Dave as a play on Be Like Mike, either way this was pretty sad to see.

A grand match. The stuff out of the chokeslam and teases were wonderful. Kobashi not knowing how to sell seems like rubbish after watching this match. He built well to the nearfalls and the top rope legdrop felt definitive even if it wasn't one of his established finishers. This is probably the least hyped pairing of the four corners but between this, the 98 match, and the 2004 one, they have had three great matches that are high profile against each other. This is probably their best and feels like a rewarding moment for Kobashi. **** 1/2

I will give Mongo some credit too, he had a decent gig as announcer and seemingly decided to become a wrestler by taking the tough route. He seemed to really enjoy being in the ring. This match was fine but on the low end side of the Nitro and Raw stuff we have seen lately. This seemed like a calming night for the NWO angle. **1/2

Farooq looks completely ridiculous and Vince acts like he has no idea who it is. Ahmed stumbles through some of his spots again. I thought that Simmons debuted earlier.

Awesome slugfest war with Anjo acting too big for his britches but not backing down an inch. Tenryu's strikes are continuously awesome and this is the 2nd awesome slugfest type match he has had so far this year. ****

This was really good stuff for the most part. Ahmed is clumsy and that rolling cradle from Owen and Shawn may have been ill-advised but the action and heat kept this match up as tremendously entertaining contest. Vader getting the victory sets up a good SummerSlam main event. I really liked Shawns dive on the outside at the very end. Say what you will about Shawn, but Beware of Dog excluded, he hasn't had a PPV outing less than ***1/2 and this match was no exception. ***1/2

This was long but good. The Puerto Rico stuff with Jaime and the response from Wolfie made sense to me. The ending beatdown was also really nice. Even though PG-13 being split up seems like a bad idea, they have still made this angle interesting with ton of wrinkles.

I have no doubt Loss would be more into this match now. It was really great with what we saw with some tonal shifts centering around the leg work each guy threw. Volk has an uncanny ability to turn and maneuver himself and still get caught to really convey danger. Some of the torquing on the knee was just nasty. I don't think this was the planned finish either but the action we saw was more than enough to satisfy me and really showed what RINGS would become in 97-98. ***1/2

Taz hasn't been displayed too much but Alfonso goes nuts over him. The Gangstas do entertain me on promos so overall this was another win for Pulp Fiction. Also, it is striking watching 1993 and 1996 how much Brian Lee changed his look and demeanor in three years.

Again this does nothing for me and Sandman isn't exactly my picture of great fatherhood to begin with so as morbid as it may sound, it is not a surprise that Tyler might look elsewhere for parental figures in his life.

The finish was well executed but man it still pissed me off. Action before was pretty awesome but I still think I prefer the ECW match between these two for spots and violence. Rey does a great babyface comeback and has the crowd going when he wins here. ***3/4

Action looked fine but I really enjoyed again the Outsiders offering allegiance to Bubba before beating him up. Hogans promo here was again wonderful and he has some firing shots to both Sting and Savage. NWO continues to roll.
