  1. Tatanka gives his basic background and what he is all about. I feel alarmed that Tatanka was on WWF tv in 1991 as he feels so mid 90's to me.
  2. I used to live a mile from Sprayberry so I do mark out but Ross mentioned it 3 times in this segment which makes the NATIONAL promotion seem very localized. After the squash, Paul E offers Bagwell a shot at the tv title. He gets progressively more condescending as the promo advances which is great. Bagwell gets beat down by the DA and out comes Sting for the save with pleading from the crowd. Rude gives the Rude Awakening on the stage and he gets rammed into the railing. This was a hot angle that took many twists and turns.
  3. Big time DA promo to end the year. Paul E wants a BOD seat and calls out a ton babyfaces they will be focusing on in the upcoming year. Rude being in a robe is distinguishing and he seems to go after Steamboat here for the first time. Promo ends with Rude being carried off on top of Eatons/Larry's Shoulders.
  4. We waste no time here as Lee first interrupts and then Fuller decks him and drags him by their tie. The moondogs make the save and in a rare move they cut their loses and escape. That was a nice change of pace from the past few weeks. Fuller cuts another great promo with his cowboy hat o talking about growing up in a barn. Fuller's promos are amazing.
  5. Piper talking about all this motivational stuff was making me BO-Lieve. Piper is hyping up holding a belt which is a good shift for him after the Flair feud which I guess is buried by this point.
  6. 2 two out of three fall matches on one show feels like extreme overkill. I also had to do a double take to ensure this was the same TERRENCE GARVIN. It is good to see Eddie working here but damn it feels like he is sort of above this stuff as a worker as he has to really work over Terrence by doing stuff like his boot lace spot and mouthing to the crowd. Terrence's facials in the deciding figure four were awful. Fireball like always in wrestling worked for me and this one played right into the finish.
  7. The setting of Global combined with the finisher stip made me come into this match expecting a disappointment for some reason. i do think the final fall was rushed a bit but this was pretty damn great. The opening matwork was swift and well done with the rope running adding a lot into the overall narrative of the match. Lynn's sleeper was put over really big and worked well into both of the first and third fall finishes. The second fallw as like those in lucha where the tombstone being called the "lighting strike" shows how fast the finish can come.
  8. Great match here mixing in highflying, wrestling, and some frustrating intensity with slaps and variances of the cranking of holds. The camera work in this one was good too. Liger really looks great in WCW and that is a testament to the year Pillman had this year that they compliment each other so well.
  9. What a complete dick Takada here is and the referee refuses to do anything. I would have reacted the same way Berbick did and don't think he was a bitch at all with this as the agreed upon rules. Interesting to watch.
  10. This match really shows how a simple match with moves emphasized can really be effective. The headlock stuff was snug and interesting and then we get the backbreakers that people have mentioned that was really nice escape. Austin's control work on the back is done well and we get a clever DQ finish to boot setting up WIndham vs. the DA more and steamboat wanting to give Madusa what she has coming to her.
  11. Psychotic promo from these two but Cactus does a good job putting over the Battlebowl concept and the multiple people he could be forced to tag with.
  12. Really great 20 minute sequence showing how bad ass the Moondogs can be. We see their taped promo with RIchard Lee leading the charge and doing a great job managing the team. The squash was disgusting as the jobbers hit a gusher and then get their ass kicked. This leads to MSC clips of the Tennessee Stud doing a stretcher job amongst mayhem and giving a spirited promo after reviewing the tape vowing revenge. Finally, Jarrett is out and he gets beat up and hung. These moondogs just wont stop.
  13. Miss Texas and CJ cant stay apart and constantly go after each other. The match looked good but had a lot of starts/stops. Pritchard ends up piledriving Embry multiple times to the crowds delight.
  14. We get a rundown of Rumble participants including Jake and the Nasty Boys. Jakes comment on safe sex really took me aback. That is to creepy for Christmas season.
  15. Good beginner tag match for the DA vs. WCW stuff. The faces get a good shine and we have a short FIP sequence on Dustin THis did feel a little rushed as it only went about 9 minutes but the action was solid throughout and we get a fiery run from Windham attacking Arn.
  16. Thanks Pete, I feel finishes are something in wrestling where multiple ideas can work for the short run and even a sustained run but eventually have to be adjusted/evolved to make a territory/promotion successful for decade.
  17. Really sad that Stings line has been beat down to the ground as it made me legit lol. The sequence was great and this has been a life saver feud in WCW with the crowd reacting well and common tropes not being executed.
  18. Hash's hair is out of control here. I liked the November Norton tag and this one was even better. The work on Hase was great and then we get another FIP sequence with Muto. Hase does the surfboard spot with Hash 2 years before Liger but this time it is with a bow and arrow. The comeback was timed well and ended appropriately with a big moonsault by muto on Hash.
  19. I would throw up the Enforcers/Patriots match from Havoc as a better example of a team leading something out of the Patriots who are truly dreadful and one of those wtf pushes in wrestling history. The pistols being heels now is something but the crowd isn't really buying into the heat and stchick they were selling. Pistols end up winning the US tag titles which I think could be safely retired by now.
  20. Yeah I had to watch this twice and with all of the context, it was bloody brilliant. Santo bleeding through his mask and diving for his livelihood always seems to get me amped and this match did a better job of it being more in peril than usual as he hits an absolute gusher and Black Shadow doesnt give a shit and hits stiff punches on it. His comeback and eventual win was extremely satisfactory. I don't think lucha in 1991 had a blowaway MOTYC like 1990 had plenty of but it has had a ton of great variety and interesting stuff like this match/Thundercats/Brazo trios and the Dandy/Satanico, Chain Match, and Oro/Santo matches.
  21. I guess I will be the low vote on this. i thought it was good and perfunctory but nothing groundbreaking. I did really like the work Eaton did but he seemed less innovative than usual on his offensive attack. Would have liked to have seen another longer feature match between these two.
  22. Thanks guys, I will say that Clash 15 is in the can and I think there may be more epic rants on that one. Cant wait to see what GAB 91 has in store for us.

  24. Big night for the heels with two title changes. I hope Embry getting a hair cut was a payoff in some territory. Tony Falk doesnt do a lot for me and his interaction in this match was pretty awkward. Pritchard wailed the flag on Embry. CJ's interference is from the Miss Elizabeth vein.
  25. Match looked really hot and crowd heat seemed fine to me. Sandman interferring seems odd and again Lawler seems all over the place on who to feud with. Kamala takes the title.
