  1. Was glad Muracofan filled in on Frank Talent, remember him wearing some Boyd Pierce awful suits during his CZW appearances.
  2. That is a brilliant tease. Some running thoughts halfway through #17: 1. More Pete retail stories please 2. Parv finally knows how to say segue 3. The announcer discussion was really well done and could have been a standalone episode. It seemed like most of you guys were on the same page. I agree with JOhnny that Lance is at his best when someone disappoints him. 4. Rick McGraw sounds like an interesting guy Kelly, great bio 5. I just knew Johnny would have a Harley impression Looking forward to the back half with the Putski miracle match.
  3. If it was David's idea, he just dropped in my eyes.
  4. Jay has been a big supporter of Scott and Justin and the site since the launch. He has also helped us out in the graphics department. Very cool shoutout.
  5. I side with Bix on the deployment speed of content. I do think WWE is in a position with them discussing the entire video library that the entire "season" release of 1995 Raw should be looked at as an event that happens semi-regularly. Certainly more than 1 new episode a week. As far as saturation of reviews go, I actually think it may be more scatterbrained as everything will be so available that a lack of focus or digestion for discussion may result. I liken it to having a well prepared steak and describing all the elements of what went into the dish compared to going to a buffet and just gorging out on food. I also agree that this was a real no turning back move for WWE and the thought of it failing is a scary one in the landscape of wrestling.
  6. The commentary was an event in itself here. Corraluzzo is yucking it up all the way through the commentary and I don't know what the fuck the creator was or trying to accomplish. The match was right up my alley though for shitshow fun to flesh out a show. Curtis took some sick bumps and I agree with Charles that Cornette is really good in these matches. While he may not be quite as good as Hennan, I do think he is underrated and doesn't get enough praise. Very fun stuff to watch.
  7. Very good match between these two giving some time to develop and start off with basic work leading into a heated finish. I thought both guys looked like stars and Ross did a hell of a job on commentary getting over the action. The finish was cheap and annoying but this being the first match in a series of matches that I know I enjoy was very satisfying.
  8. Not a bad first week of matches at all to start 2014. It also doesn't include the New Japan stuff and I would have Okada/Naito above everything listed here. I ended up going with Casas vs. Titan. Super fun contest and I really enjoy seeing Casas work with people on this level. Rhodes vs. Wyatts was right there though.
  9. This All Star/Joint Promotions stuff is sounding fantastic. Now that I have my toe dipped in 1980's lucha, that is probably the biggest gaping hole I am missing from stuff watched.
  10. Ditto what Dylan and Sam said. I had a blast watching 50 candidate matches in a 2 week window to compile my list and even had matches I didn't think would have a chance (Hell No/Ryback vs. the Shield) make my overall top 10. I also ended up picking Cena vs. Bryan as my MOTY which I wouldn't have guessed starting out. Superb job by Rich and Joe and a lot of opinions homogenized together in those 50 matches.

  13. I constantly use the yearbooks to earmark where I ranked and thought about stuff when I watched at the time.
  14. what disc are you up too in the Lucha set? Im starting disc 3 now Still on disc 3 (same as September!) but I actually watched some of the Rush vs. Negro Casas trios matches from this past year right after I watched this show.
  15. Awesome to see that this made it. Really excited to listen.
  16. I didn't remember much from the 2000 Rumble except the botched finish, Taka's splat and the Too Cool stuff. Looks like if I'm in a bind watching all of these, this one is an easy skip though. Mark saying Grand master Sexxay in his accent was wonderful.
  17. I am still unsure whether watching this if the end game was to feed a challenger to Luger to look strong as champion or to build up Simmons. Who the hell knows with this crew currently. Windham playing a somewhat Larry Z in AWA role is interesting. I did like him bringing up the 88 turn. Race still can throw some potato shots even in 1991.
  18. This has been a really well tempered feud slowly escalating each week but still hasn't completely blowed over into hatred yet. Dundee is able to chronicle everything that has transpired and the reason for why the upcoming submission match is happening. I have no idea where Davis was headed looking like that but it was sharp.
  19. Suspense and a fence and a cameo from the baby. Quality podcast so far.

  21. Even though the match is not very good at all, it was interesting to go back to the primitive days of the Rumble and see how unimportant everything felt. This was especially true when contrasting it to 1992 that I watched immediately afterward.
  22. That is an excellent point El Broicua and one that I think significantly hurts Hogan vs. Warrior as a candidate.
  23. I was intrigued by making a card with Flair vs. Savage. Good to know it can be done.
  24. Really fun finishing run starting up right at the sick cage door slam into Foley's skull. The buildup to Chyna's first bump was satisfactory and played out even though she took it very awkwardly. Mick's payoff of taking off the mask and delivering the big splash was awesome even with Ross overselling a little bit as I didn't hear those Superfly chants. Great start to the show.
  25. Only about two minutes of action shown but jam packed with some stiff shots and dramatic moments. Felt like to me this should have been Tenzan's moment to win with both Chono and Muta cheering him on in the corner. Buff too oddly enough. Sasaki picks up the win and wins the tournament in an early finish for the G-1.
