  1. Bret did a good job in this interview rewarding long term fans of what was about to happen but also not all of a sudden stealing popcorn from kids making it blatantly obvious.
  2. Whitman said her son loved the WWF action figures though. . . I was surprised to see Taker doing the PR stuff from that since he is usually so guarded. The minis match didn't have much to it but was fine filler and Sagradas dive off the stage was awesome looking and received a great reaction.
  3. Will be interesting to watch this PPV as a whole when we get there because the big highs of the show coupled with a very good Malenko vs. Guerrero match make it seem memorable. I'm always amazed that Rodman was around this time and getting semi physical while he was playing. Sure he didn't do much here except paintbrush Luger but the night before he beat my beloved Hawks. This main event feels big time and Luger was crazy over wiping out the NWO. Then you get the iconic Sting moment which was a great ending to a PPV.
  4. This was a good promo before the mainevent and the black and white production still looks really slick for the time.
  5. I have always loved this angle and the way it plays out. Both the real life aspects and the irony for what Savage says helps elevate DDP but you don't think Savage is saying it ironically and that he truly believes everything he is saying. I also like seeing how sad Liz was played off with her shear delight to spraypaint Kimberly in this segment.
  6. Very good match with a rough edge that both Loss and Childs mentioned. Eddy looked really good on his viciousness spots and showed a heel turn would be wise. His dive to the outside guardrail was great. The NWO beatdown derailed the commentators a little but they were able to tie everything together with SYxx coming down and eventually Malenko winning the championship.

  8. Variety of stuff going on in this one. Gertner establishes himself with the Dudleys. They figure out that the best thing to sell a Pitbull vs. Shane match is Francine saying a few quick words and looking good. RVD has some choice words for Taz. Brian Lee's diction was really odd in his little snippet then we wrap it up with dreamer and his overall quest.
  9. I thought this tag was great. Loads of fun but also told a compelling story and mixed in highspots, brawling, and chain wrestling. Yaku was the stand out as he took a beating and Togo was great as always. I need to watch the 1996 tags again but this felt like upper tier stuff for the group to me.
  10. This was a pure mess that didn't lead to anywhere apparent.
  11. Taz looking like a bad ass as he is on the march with Sabu. This has been a cool feud built up on the imagination of the fans of seeing these two face off.
  12. The BWO is insanely over. I don't think Hollywood Nova has even spoke on this vignettes. Meanie does a dead on Hall impression. The girl was obviously a plant but the crowd went for so oh well. Stevie calls out Raven and the title. Raven comes out and I drown out as he talks about the mind games he will inflict.
  13. Super good match that had some breathtaking sequences and stiff shots. Tag structure was also played of here a lot better than most straight lucha tags. Damiancito was my standout in this match. Really came to appreciate mini matches over the last year.
  14. Thank you Victory for the support.

  16. I preferred this to the January match and loved how they played off the pace and action of that match in this one. You know these girls can have a wild brawl so the only thing to contain them is a barbed wire environment. They play into the barbed wire shots and then once they start using it, the violence and chaos ensues. Smart psychology was sprinkled in like the aforementioned grabbing of the ropes spots. Splendid match with satisfying finish for Kudo.
  17. IWA-MS doesn't get any less seedy, I will say that. I don't know whether Ian's commentary is the original or during his Taco Bell phase when they released the DVD of this show, but damn was it dreadful. I'm guessing it was original since he was inoffensive in his 2001-2005 stuff he was on commentary for. I have no idea who the other commentator is. Tarek the Great has a few great matches in his tank and a lot of nothing stuff. Kickboxer was someone that I only caught the tail end of when I first started watching IWA-MS but I was never a fan as they tried to present him as their high flying legend and he got outclassed and blew spots vs. Punk, Cabana, etc. This match showed a lot more restraint than I figured it would and built up fairly well. I certainly wouldn't call it a classic but it was a good match which I didn't expect coming in and it served as a good intro to IWA-MS.
  18. This was a good around the world style NWO interview that hit on all the big themes. Sting receives his colors. Nash and Hall discuss the Steiners, and Savage cant remember DDP's name. All the while Buff has his workout equipment. Nash and Hall might be jawing with the fans coming off their appearance on the MTV edition of Souled Out where they got legit pissed at some fans throwing stuff at the stage. I forgot to mention it and it would probably be hell to track down but it would have been cool to include it as mainstream crossover.
  19. Aw, Club La Vela at spring break. The place where young Chad has learned more about the vices in life than almost anywhere else. Piper's promo is up there with the Alcatraz stuff as being the most out there Piper has been this year. I want to randomly say inappropriate things at work and then throw my hands up and yell Uncensored to make it ok. The Horseman strut down the aisle and Arn gives the pitch to Piper. It is kind of amazing how dated Flair is in just the six years from the 1991 set I'm watching. Flair takes the mic and tells Piper he would be dumb not to accept their offer then goes into his wild man routine. Piper says he accepts and will have his "family" (the people from the tryouts last week) backing him up. Interested to see if they even made it to the PPV. As a way of getting rid of the disaster that was last week with Piper picking his team, I guess this was as good as they could do.
  20. Rodman is so memorable. My wife is not even what I would consider a casual sports fan and it is unlikely that she would know who David Robinson is. Yet, we were playing "catch phrase" and was assured that the female team would not know Dennis Rodman. Sure enough as soon as the card was flipped and multi colored basketball player was mentioned, we were sunk.
  21. This really should be talked about more as it was almost like the predecessor to CM Punk 2011 stuff. Lawler and Heyman give their best insults to each other and actually use the word shoot a ton. Lawler says that Heyman wouldn't have an ECW if his parents wouldn't have financed it and Heyman gets in some shots on Lawler's regionalism in Memphis. Glorious back and forth and ECW's roster comes out to back up Paul but Lawler doesn't get a response when he calls back his friends.
  22. Decent segment but it wasn't the best work from all involved. Shamrock aside as this was probably the best he has been but he was only adequate at this point at his best. The main takeaway was that for sure Bret was going heel based on how whiny he was in this promo and there was a very strategic moment where you thought he was wrapping up and he kept going on by listing everyone that had screwed him.
  23. Crowd was dreadful. This was another good match in a fun series. Yagi I thought was really wonderful in the early going and showed off her athleticism. A good swan song for her for the time being. I also liked the superplex being the finish as this didn't get too kick out crazy.
  24. Man I thought this would be a weak year and then Loss starts throwing out all these matches and I cringe that deep cuts have to be made. Showing this doesn't make me envy you/Will getting the final matchlist together.
