Assuming it was real, the Lois run in at the end of the Q and A was funny as hell -
http://culturecrossfire.com/wrestling/the-best-of-mid-south-6/ Societal dynamics are explored as Bill Watts' Mid-South Wrasslin' promotes Butch Reed and JYD in a "ghetto" street fight. We also get a look at Brickhouse Brown and Master Gee, who are pegged to fill JYD's boots as the black superstar of the area. They even step right into his feud with Reed. The Fantastics are pushed to the limit of their ample skills by both the Midnight Express and the Guerrero Brothers in tag team action. Plus "Exotic" Adrian Street gives the locals a taste of androgynous life as he fights Chris Adams.

Just gave this a chance finally 3 weeks ago when I stumbled on the Heenan episode. This is a fun listen, but I find some of the redoing of the commentary episodes to be less compelling. -

I ended up watching the whole NWA show before listening. I'm really torn on Dusty's promo. His line about kicking the butts of the neighbor kids parents cracked me up. but there was also some things not to love, as stated on the podcast. Moving on to the older Superstars ep now.... -

I was around 3 when I started watching, so I only have vague memories of Hogan, Piper, Capt. Lou, Andre, Cyndi Lauper, etc. Definitely remember pics of a bloody Bundy at Mania 2 and my mother scoffing and telling me it was ketchup or makeup or whatever. I can remember arguing with my neighbors when I was 4 and a 1/2 years old over who would win between Hogan and Andre at Mania 3. As far as the other leagues go, I have a random memory of Dusty Rhodes fighting a russian in a chain match, but I have no idea who or when. I was watching the AWA too, but my first real memory that stuck was when Col Debeers piledrove Snuka on the concrete. I am one of the few Greg Gagne supporters on the net, since he was chasing Hennig when I was little, thus I saw him as equal to the other big stars elsewhere. Al Perez being on top of World Class over the Von Erichs gave me a similar lasting impression of him. I also have a random memory of Soldat Ustinov or Boris Zukoff fighting a bear and then cutting a promo with Sheik Adnan with bandages from the claws. This may be some sort of false memory though.

I was surprised to stumble upon this card. Shawn and Marty were only in their 4th or 5th month in the AWA and not yet headlining, but here Shawn is fighting the World champ. Any details how this came about?
