  1. There. Corrected for you. Also, I'm saying nothing about this edition. At all. So relax.
  2. Bitch and moan ? About what 2016 was ? 😂 I just stated the facts. Of course it's not necessary a nice thing to hear, but it is what it is. It was a toxic waste by the end, and a total reactionary moment in pro-wrestling criticism from this niche of a niche.
  3. Did Steve Wright ever dance like his son to the sound of some eurotrash beat ? I don't think he did.
  4. While not as comical, I would absolutely put it alongside the infamous "Tanga Loa chops Okada" gif.
  5. And so I watched Don Fale vs Aaron Wolfe. And if you ask yourself "Why ?", I feel the exact same way. About everything that got involved in this (and yes, that means Chase "it is actually possible to have a shit match with Konosuke Takeshita" Owens).
  6. I admit the first list is way far to have very clear memories, but I only have the feeling that it was a very fun time. I'm 200% more chill about pro-wrestling now that I was back then. Probably because the last 10 years (and mostly 6 years) have been the best and most fun and satisfying to me as a pro-wrestling fan. As far as watching it at least. 😎 (and probably also because there is way more serious shit happening to get angry/worried about) "Back in my days, you had to buy 2d generation VHS tapes to see TAKA Michinoku vs W*ING Kanemura on a random FMW comp" (true story, basically). In a way, I'm glad it was that way. If I was 23 now with the same availability, oh boy, poor me... I would never have left the house. And yes, it is true of everything (music, cinema, TV shows). Why do I need to read a 2000 words "review" of something when I can just click and watch/listen to it for myself, usually for "free" too ?
  7. BIGLAV was the dumbest shit ever. And Parv was one reason among others the 2016 late discussions became unbearably toxic. Remember the "You can't comment on Ric Flair if you have not listened to my dozen of 4 hours podcast" argument. Oh, and the infamous "Younger fans have to be lectured to understand the genius of Greg Valentine". 🙃 2016 was a very reactionary time, with an agenda steaming from the remains of the DVDVR 80's project, where the romanticization of everything 80's, an especially the US territory wrestling days, was being pushed by an aging forum audience who had been passed by the current wrestling scene, in a very agressive way, with a sense of sourness steaming from 15 years of WWE monopoly on the US scene. It was an echo chamber of "Back in my days" shit, with an added posturing about "rediscovering" stuff that had either been known forever (Tenryu was a great worker, wow, no shit) either being ridiculously overrated to push the idea that "pro-wrestling was better in the territory days" (no names given to not trigger anyone, but yeah, should be obvious to anyone who was around). As fun as the 2006 project was, the 2016 one became an absolute chore and annoyance by the end. I think everyone was just relieved when it was over.
  8. I dunno, I think they could use those tapings to make a much better formatted show. It still feels completely haphazard and not really well thought out in term of week to week content. But you do get cool match ups, and its fun to see random people popping up like in the Dark days (I do miss the completely "no fucks given" feel of the Dark announcing, since it wasn't supposed to be anything serious whereas ROH is). Oh yes indeed. I also can't wait until the Swirl get an actual push on AEW TV, hopefully. They are just way too good (especially Blake Christian).
  9. For all intents and purposes, AAA is basically NXT Mexico. After a single year, the product has been streamlined to the point there's not much actual lucha libre left at all (and yeah, AAA was always been a americanized version of lucha, stuck in the late 90's, but it was still very much rooted in lucha culture still). The audience is basically Mexican WWE fans (a point illustrated before by the reaction, of lack thereof, a guy like Hijo del Fantasma got when he showed up with his mask, only to get one when he unmasked as Santos Escobar from WWE). That's what WWE wanted. The thing is, I can't even be sorry about AAA. Their last two years was Konnan and Dorian booking Alberto el Rapist as their world champ. AAA deserved nothing but contempt. Well... He's working with Jeremy Borash. But of course, he's the one being credited. I feel like this is going the same way as old NXT. It's an easy show to book, being taped one every three weeks or so. They have some cool workers who can do more than they would elsewhere in the WWE landscape. It's still fresh to the eyes of US WWE audience for now. So Taker is gonna get much more credit than he deserves for doing a real easy job, that he isn't doing by himself anyway. (don't get me started on the political aspect of a MAGAhead booking a Mexican promotion bought by a Trump adjacent American company) The thing is, after one year, they still haven't sold the rights to a US TV, which was the basic reason they bought the thing.
  10. Ranger Ross. Now that's a deep fucking cut of a reference ! 😀 Talk about someone who's existence I completely forgot about, even more than the Renegade. Yeah, I was thinking more about "Ashley Massaro" and "WWE talents being held hostage on a Saudi tarmac". Ya know, that kinda stuff.
  11. As an OG participant from the 2006 SC version, and non-participant this year (I actually *tried* to put together a list in the last month, as showed by my potential top ten I posted, but ranking stuff just doesn't make sense to me anymore, not just as far as pro-wrestling goes, in general, that ship has sailed), I must say the fact the tradition of bitching about the GWE results *as soon* as the reveal thread starts is alive and well is pretty funny.
  12. Totally forgot that Renegade actually commited suicide, so yeah, that was tragic. But I really totally forgot about Renegade period, if I'm being honest. And really, I probably will enjoy those TNA episodes. I guess there will be one about Jeff Hardy showing up high as a kite. Hopefully they deal with some serious topic and not turn this into a Conrad podcast episode though. The issue is that the real interesting topic of the last 25 years won't happen because no one will talk about it, for reasons that don't need to be explain. But it's a shame. It really looks like they're now grasping at straws and doing random episodes about random wrestlers.
  13. Seriously ? What the fuck is this ? Three episodes about TNA ? Zach Gowen ? The Renegade ? Joe vs Necro Butcher ? What ? The only episode that sounds interesting is Missy Hyatt. With all the seriously dark shit that would need to be seriously talked about, that's what they came up with ? Major disappointment in term of topics.
  14. There is nothing as "this boards standards", really, considering the vast diversity of opinions. 😅 (thankfully) No idea. I really haven't watch a NOAH show since the Muto retirement. Don't have the time to watch what I would like to watch already, and don't care enough really. Apparently it drew well for NOAH. Still. Shane Haste ?
  15. Nothing. Basically maybe making the catalogue officially online again.
  16. El-P

    RIP Ted Turner

If there's no Ted Turner, Vince McMahon basically gets the monopoly on US wrestling in 1989. Everything is changed. For the worse. A LOT worse. On so many levels.
  17. Thanks for WCW, Billionaire Ted.
  18. This is straight mafia shit. The morale in the locker room must be really awesome right now... Well, I'm guessing the more it goes, the more the WWE people will only be totally brainwashed marks who are willing to be completely humiliated for their "childhood dream", so hey, maybe it is. But anyone with a functioning brain should tell them to fuck right off. The only goal of WWE is to drop salaries for their "superstars" and destroy bargaining power. But guess what, I'm sure in the long term, this kind of shit is gonna destroy the perception of WWE being a worthwhile destination for actual talent who are not completely stupid. (and Dwayne showed up at that ridiculous fashion gala with a 3 million dollars watch. Jeeez. Way to read the fucking room)
  19. Booker is the worst. Not only his co-worker but a COUPLE co-workers. And yeah, I'll shitpost about it because I'm no one on a pro-wrestling forum. But your co-workers, wife and husband, get released and lose their income at the same time and you talk shit ? The day Booker gets cut, and unless he knows where bodies are buried (which I doubt, because he's an idiot) it's gonna happen, karma is gonna be such a bitch. He's also the worst color guy ever. I'd rather listen to Mark Madden. I have no idea how people even watch NXT.
  20. Seeing Cesar Duran (TFAKA Dario Cueto) doing his heel promoter bit at Arena Mexico certainly is a fun side note for old LU fans. That MLW joint show really was like the crappiest Fantastica Mania you can think of. Main event was cool. Fun to see KUSHIDA finally change his look after all this years.
  21. Enjoy your 50% paycut, bumping ass mark.
  22. Honestly I have no idea. But he's very much linked with the NXT B&G era which was all about the indie darlings putting together bangers and all, and he really got his footing calling NJPW at first. He strikes me as a guy who really loves that kinda style. The only thing for sure is that he really loves hip-hop. I mean you never know. It's like all this dumb as fuck discourse about Meltzer ruining wrestling because he pushed evil workrate and shit (I swear I read the *stupidest* thing EVER a few month back and I'm not even gonna mention it because I feel truly embarrassed for the person) whereas if you pay actual attention to what he says, Meltzer's favorite wrestling is actually CMLL because the atmosphere reminds me of his youth and really solid and safe, matwork based matches like Tanahashi vs ZSJ which really was his favorite pairing for years.
  23. Aww come one now ! 🤣 Considering his history, I would say a lot that you don't actually enjoy apparently. 😎 I saw what you did here. A deep cut too. (I mean, for how long was he even in TNA ?) But yeah. Plus it's a way to try and fuck over Kofi, as alone he would obviously have less value than as the act. So fucking petty. I very much doubt he would accept. He's got tons of gamer friends in AEW, Kenny Omega to begin with, so there's plenty of VG stuff he could do over there too eventually.
