It was dogshit in their prime too. The epitome of corporate WWE dull-as-dirt, light-as-fuck style. In 2025 with old & roided up Orton and completely washed Cena, it sounds like complete junk. Saw that Rusev promo too. Hilarious. Basically the Reedemer without any intensity. Effort on all front : zero.

AEW selling out Arena Mexico in two days. Well, that CMLL partnership is still rolling.
-
Three more plaintiffs in the "ring boy" lawsuits. Allegations of abuse including by Pat Patterson and, well, Koko B. Ware. People still being in denial about Patterson probably won't take this one well. Koko certainly is a new name in the game. Details are pretty awful, as usual. There you go.

Except it's an era no one in their right mind would want to revisit. Nostalgia is one hell of a drug. https://www.facebook.com/100064422293265/videos/too-many-cooks-cena-orton-matches/141821953155758/ (sorry, haven't found it on Youtube) So, still no Jeff Cobb, uh ? Yeah, he really did not have the time to put Goto over nor drop the title. Pattern. Pat McAfee, Logan Paul in big matches.... No further comment.

WWE hasn't bought TNA (yet ?) and the entire discourse about TNA already is who is gonna show up to NXT, how whomever is so over in NXT, how it's awesome than whomever is gonna be a big star in WWE next. They are 100% a feeder to WWE already. So, AAA actually being part of the machine... As far as AAA's booking not being an issue, it's the most hilarious thing ever considering the last two years. One has to remember Konnan is booking Alberto el Rapist as his world champ and has not exactly supported Stephanie Vaquer either (lot of luchadors still support Cuatrero).

Mayu leaving is not very surprising, but it's a big blow. Her going to Temu Stardom would be such a downgrade, but her relationship with Rossy probably would help that and she would be de facto the biggest star there. Her going to WWE would be sad, because I would not watch her anymore at all, but then again, she can see what Iyo Skye is doing. Thekla I guess can get work in either company. She's solid and is a pretty cool character. Would not mind her in AEW. Not a game changer either way. Maika being out sucks and is another blow to the top of the cards. I think this was the biggest show ever for Stardom in term of attendance. Hopefully it's not one of those "peak, and then down down down". Then again, heel Saya has been a complete success, way beyond expectations. They have many super talented workers they can push up the cards. The question is, will they be able to turn them into stars ? On paper Stardom looks much better than NJPW right now, still. (funny though how at 58 years old, Yumiko Hotta is still a worthless no-selling waste of time)

Mystery Wrestling (the local indie from Evil Uno) streaming on Twitch. And it begins with John Silver singing Conte Partiro. Yes. This is what pro-wrestling needs in 2025.

In other news, office people in AAA are already talking about how people are gonna need to learn English and work a more americanized style. It hasn't been a week. 😂

In the grand scheme of things, Hangman Page has always been the main character of AEW, since the beginning. I'm so glad the Bucks are back. Yeah, amazing shape, and ridiculous ways of still being the GOATS, really. It's just a dream match every week to see Speedball interacting with this roster. Glad to see Stokely back too. Interesting choice of putting him alongside FTR (because they really don't need a manager to cut promos for them, but then again I really like Stokely). Gotta love Ricky Morton taking that piledriver like a king at 68. Can't say I was *shocked* to see Josh Alexander do the C4 on Brody, but still amazed. He too, I'm glad he's there. He's not gonna be the man like he was in Impact, but I can't wait when he's thrown in this year's CC, because he should. MJF is actually make me kinda enjoy the Hurt Syndicate, so that's a feat. Tag titles still are in limbo though. Heel FTR gotta get those. Overall, just a terrific episode again.

Honestly, Nia Jaxx shitting on a co-worker who even isn't there at a roast hosted by a racist MAGA "comedian" doesn't say anything about Charlotte's character. It does however says a lot about Nia Jaxx's. Also at that hilarious roast, from the audio transcript (the audio having been pulled by WWE), there have been "jokes" about Nakamura eating dog, Shayna Baszler having a penis (a Paul Heyman joke, mind you), deportation jokes of course, Waffle House in reference to the Naomi vs Jade match, and even an Alberto del Rio joke (about Paige). Such good shit... (and yeah, some idiots are making the "it was roast, you silly" excuse, which doesn't fly one bit when these "jokes" are made at an event run by a company tied with MAGA and it's racist, transphobic, rapist-loving office and politics) (good guy Sami Zayn was a part of this BTW. That's what we call a "useful idiot")

There's no way Big Swole is showing up... oh, wait. Considering Master P was in the same group as Konnan, odds on him getting fucking killed ?
-
They're targeting anyone with talent in TNA. But a 37 years old ex NXT guy Maclin doesn't have the same luster as viral sensation Joe Hendry or top talent Jordynne Grace. I'm not watching TNA anymore but I'm interested in how they'll evolve (see what I did there) in the next year or so. Them being bought out eventually would be the least surprising thing ever. WWE is already controlling their world champion.

Superstar Graham was also a great episode. Learned nothing new really since it's well known. For all the fame he had at one point, that guy really just struggled his entire life. Eddie Gilbert next week is the one I awaits the most (apart from Daffney). One of the original Dark Side story I learned about (is he the original "shoot interview" too ?).

Master P at Dynamite. Will someone reference Rap is Crap ? Also, the next thing we need is DJ Ran all up in yo area.

The thing about that whole Joe Henry "controversy" (like there was one, he was made to look like a geek, end of story) that people seem to overlook, is that he's pretty much already a WWE guy. He was on NXT this week again, he has WWE merchandise. In a matter of a few months, he's gone from TNA, just like Jordynne Grace was. Whatever views that gets TNA (and thats very debatable, the entire TNA thing is muddled at best since apparently no PPV has done a better number than Hard to Kill 2024) the end game is to introduce Joe Hendry as part of the WWE in a not so long ago future. The irony is that if he already was contracted with WWE, he would never have gotten that treatment at Mania. It's like a double edge sword : they want to push TNA as a way to weaponize it against AEW, they want to push Hendry already as he's getting there in no time, but at the same time they can't help it but make their partners look like third rate geeks (which they are, they essentially are a feeder system for NXT now in the grand scheme of things). (whatever happens with TNA the days they don't have Hendry nor the Hardies anymore, hard to tell. I don't see WWE creaming over Mike Santana nor Steve Maclin, and the women division is all about Tessa Blanchard, which is a whole other discussion and she definitely is aiming at WWE too)
-
Ok. So AEW is co-producing two DEAN~! tribute shows this year. How the hell isn't that the coolest thing ever ? I wonder if someone is gonna drop the sleaze thread sometime in the commentary.
-
Bayley is apparently not very happy about her treatment relating to Mania this year either. SRS mentioned recently how WWE basically resigned Nattie last year to prevent her to go to AEW as she wanted to be part of the Owen tournament. Whether that's true or not, no idea.
-
The story with Grace is that she had to relinquish her OnlyFans. And she made ridiculous money with it. So her contract his probably better than her TNA one, but she makes a lot less money than she did overall. So, no Jeff Cobb, uh. So it appears it was really important he would not job the tag titles nor pu over Goto, because they had plans for like, *right now*... Yeah. The Cena vs Orton nostalgia is hilarious considering this program was a neverending rehash of rehash of dullfests as it happened. People will be nostalgic about just anything *cough TNA cough*.
-
In term of impact and success, for sure. The reactions to both Mania main events is very telling. I know from reading about it that I would have enjoyed none of them, but one got over huge and the other was seen as a complete failure.
-
Or course. Yet he's still viewed as this creative genius that was gonna save WWE several times (or TNA, whenever that stuff used to came up in the 00's) and how he's the one responsible for WWE's most successful angle of the last decade (Cody "finishing the story" aside, that was Vince's). And he's one of the most powerful guy in the company. And I say that as a former ECW fan. Heyman has been wildly overrated over the years.
-
The Speedball vlogs really kind bring back that early AEW vibe. Damn, Speedball vs Michael Oku would be so great. Forbidden Door in London...
-
Well, it's supposed to be his character. When it's really Heyman IRL. Much like Kevin Dunn before him, he probably knows were the bodies are buried too.
-
Not specifically talking about the storyline itself (which, yes, only got hot once Sami Zayn got involved) which obviously is the most successful (at the very least) thing they did in years, but the style of main event match heavy on high-school drama level acting. As far as Jey Uso getting over, it's funny because when Sami Zayn got over *organically* thanks to his character work and the fact he was also killing it in the ring, they would not pull the trigger on him. When DUI Nepoboy got massively over thanks to the groundwork laid by years of Bloodline storyline and his act basically was reduced to an entrance and mediocre singles matches, he got the title.
-
When you put all the things together, with how unhinged they are becoming, this AAA stuff is gonna be morbidly fascinating.
-
Paul Heyman on the Pat McAfee (vomit) show, making comparison between CM Punk and Shannon Sharpe (some ESPN guy accused of sexual assault and such apparently), making jokes about deportation of Latinos... Oh, but "he's working in character". (which considering everything we know about the WWE office, is pretty irrelevant) Sure. Doesn't make it less incredibly shitty in both the current political context and the fact WWE has two lawsuits on their ass for sexual abuse. All that on a show hosted by a MAGA dipshit. Heyman needs to get fucked. He's trash and his vision of pro-wrestling is godawful anyway.
