  6. That crowd tonight was amazing. I seriously can't remember the last time I heard a crowd pop like that. It felt like 1998. Best Raw in a long long time.
  7. Roddy Piper in WWF 1984/1985 was pretty crazy as generating heat goes. That scene when he slammed the gold record over Albano, kicked Cyndi Lauper and body slammed David Wolff was pretty crazy. I mean didn't Wolff get legitimately hurt? Another one that hasn't been mentioned is the end of the Lawler/Idol cage match in April of 87. Pure pandemonium. The heat on Idol,Rich and Paul E was crazy. They actually stayed in the cage till they got decent enough security to get them backstage and even then, they had to run for their lives.

  11. The point is, to a certain generation, regardless of the type of fan they are, HHH is "a great". There's such a massive gap between this sort of view of HHH and Dylan's that I have to wonder if there might be some exaggeration on both sides. I'm not saying that there IS, just wondering about it. Maybe I don't get it but I read that guys defense of HHH and I don't see it. His mixture of Race,Arn and Flair.....Um what?
  12. I think Barry Horowitz was better then HHH.......Yes I HATE HHH. I also admit I think a lot of the hate for HHH is a generational thing. If you grew up where your first exposure to wrestling was the Attitude era and after you probably hold him in high regard. To a guy like me who grew up watching the territories, he doesn't even crack the top 100 wrestlers of all time, at least with me anyway.

  16. Are any of the 3 MSG Backlund vs Peter Maivia matches from 11/78, 12/78 and 1/79 available? When they had the Peter Maivia HOF on WWE classics, I was surprised they didnt show any of these matches. Specifically the Jan 79 cage match.
  17. It was Murdoch, no Dibiase. Ahh ok I stand corrected thanks.
  18. I wish there was more footage of Bob Armstrong as a heel in Southeastern in 1982. The only footage I have seen is when Armstrong was the guest ref in an NWA title match between Flair and Ron Fuller and he attacks Fuller. Supposedly he was amazing as a heel and the heat he generated at that time was off the charts. Also any footage of the feud between The Sheepherders and Austin Idol in Southeastern 81 or 82. I think I remember a post where Bix said he saw footage on you tube which is now long gone of Idol showing up in the studio in a police car with sirens blaring in the middle of a Sheepherders match. Hell I would love to see more Southeastern wrestling period from the early 80s. There is not much out there pre 84 at all. Wasn't there are a Ric Flair vs DiBiase (I think) match for the NWA title in !985 which Joel Watts said was the best match he has ever seen? He had the film in the back seat of his car and it melted in the middle of a really hot summer day. Thats the way the story goes according to urban legend.

  20. I am in the middle of watching the Four Horsemen set and I really had forgotten up till know how great a heel was Tully Blanchard was. He maybe one of the best ever to be honest. You look at him and he just has that smirk that you want to slap off him. My favorite is when at the beginning of a jobber match he shakes his hand like he is sincere in having a clean match. Ten seconds later he is bitch slapping the poor guy in the face. He was a great wrestler and pretty underrated on the mic also.
  21. Sam Houston and Baby Doll starting dating in 1986 much to Dustys dismay who wanted Baby Doll himself. So Dusty who was the booker banished Houston to the dying central states territory. Houston is has been in and out of prison from what I have read.

  24. CONFETTI!!! I didnt get Memphis where I lived in the 80s but I can only imagine Savage's debut must have been viewed as pretty crazy. I have only read about the Poffo's outlaw promotion (ICW) running against Memphis but it seemed pretty intense. So I can only imagine with the reaction was when Savage showed up in Memphis. I have seen this clip at least 20 times and laugh every time.
