You're ahead of me next round which scares me because we may be thinking of the same person.
Hopefully not.
I would bet not. At this point our needs are different I would guess
That's what I was hoping.
I knew he was never picked, but I never wanted to grab him before guys like Guerrero, Rogers, and Vachon. So this worked out perfectly. I'd been planning on drafting him since my last pick.
Thought WCCW might take him, but man I lucked out.
Jim Crockett is open to the idea of Bret Hart perhaps being champion in 3-4 years, but doesn't necessarily see him as a franchise at the moment. Needs to work on his mic skills and develop more of a big match feel. Maybe gain some weight and lose that junior heavyweight feel.
Crockett would also like to remind the board that Ric Flair is primed and ready to again take the reins of the NWA World Title and put on classic matches with everyone all over North America. Maybe even pull a couple of classics out of Stu's boy to get him ready down the line.
I do not know if that is a backhanded compliment Southwest was not very good except a couple bright spots here and there. Felt like an easy "I could do better than THAT!" territory. Plus it has Tully & it's Texas.
Not intentionally. Basically everyone on there, but Saito and DVE were high on my list. I didn't even bother ranking Gilbert which in hindsight was a mistake. However, I probably wouldn't have even considered taking him until around this point.
Since you're going to be rotating guys in and out relatively quickly, we could be talking about exchanges sometime down the line.
I think I know who this is too. I think he's getting hurt by hindsight if it's same guy.
Please don't let this be the same guy I'm think of.
Edit - I pick before both of you so if he gets taken it won't be you I get frustrated at.
Awesome, thanks for the appreciation. And we can obviously say that your roster is better than anything Southwest would have been able to put on at the time so good going there.
I filled my roster with people I thought would make interesting matchups with Flair as a starter, but covering a wide variety of styles. Personally, I'd love to watch a show in 1983 filled with my roster so far.
I think if you don't believe you're "winning" the draft, you may as well drop out. Every time I look at my roster, I give myself an imaginary high five.
I am dreading the next few rounds though. Not a lot of wiggle room anymore as we all run for the same guys.
