Thanks for being rational.

Let's be fair and draft. This is using the original method. It works except for Dkookypunk not making his picks. We should just keep this and start the wrestler draft ASAP. Give Punk Montreal because every promotion he's chosen is spoken for and he hasn't been around to even discuss it. All this repicking is going to do is piss someone else off if someone decides to change territories.

JCP

You weren't asked about that? In that case we should clear this up. You have been clear from the beginning that you wanted Southwest. But also why just immediately quit? Everyone here seems pretty levelheaded, just point out the discrepancy and I'm sure everything will work out.
-
I assume you can keep all 3 if you lose your first two picks?
-
Just glancing I see guys like Dan Spivey, Shawn Michaels, Marty Jannetty, and Nikita Koloff who weren't wrestling yet.
-
A bunch of guys to choose from, but I can't pass up Ric Flair.
-
So anyone else in that list is up for grabs?
-
Yeah, I'm chomping at the bit to get this going. Ready for the draft whenever.
-
As long as I get first dibs from my JCP roster, that's fine.
-
What about future debuting wrestlers? Will that be an every 6 months thing where those workers will be added to the next draft? And is the draft order being determined by random order as well?
-
My choices in order of preference: 1) JCP 2) WCCW 3) PNW

Roster turnover shouldn't be over 50 percent each six months, but gradual. Maybe 1-2 wrestlers each month are rotated in and out of each territory. I don't want to have an influx of new guys all coming in at the same time every six months.

If we are drafting a mostly new roster for these promotions, how accurate are we aiming to be? Completely open to the participants? Like if I had AWA (which I'm not planning on), would I be expected to book in a Verne-type way? Especially with the draft guaranteeing vastly different rosters than in real life, I assume we're just using the territory name for name value and booking whatever 1983-type shows that we want. Edit - I guess what I'm getting at is I'll be very open to what territory I get as long as I'm not required to book Memphis-style or Dallas-style or AWA-style or whatever.
-
I'm in.
-
Not sure if this was mentioned, but if this makes it as far as six months game time, along with update drafts, there should be a list of newer wrestlers who debuted in mid-1983, early-1984, mid-1984, etc... that can be added to rosters as well.
-
So are we getting territories with wrestlers included or do we still get to do a draft?
-
I'm interested.

There's some talk about this in the Village Green Preservation Society. I'm of the opinion that it never took place and was just a typo on someone's list. It definitely took place. Have you seen it? Otherwise, what's the proof? No mention of it on the The History Of WWE website as of now.

Newest mailbag show starts with someone sending in a question about Tom Magee and mentions a WWF December 1988 dark match with Arn Anderson that was aired internationally in which Anderson made him look good. The asker claimed to have seen this match. I wasn't aware that any record of such a match had been found. Dave didn't really confirm or deny it either, just went into his normal Magee talking points.

Favourite style of wrestling? WWF/WCW Favourite way wrestling is presented? 80's/90's North American Heels vs. Faces as legit athletic meaningful contests Favourite type of match? Tag Team if good to great teams are involved Favourite gimmick match? I enjoy Survivor Series matches when done right. Fast, well-paced action with numerous characters involved. Royal Rumble as well. Favourite wrestler? Bret Hart, Mr. Perfect, Big Bossman, Shawn Michaels, Daniel Bryan, Cesaro, El Generico Favourite match? Bret vs. Perfect Summerslam 1991, Kurt Angle vs. Rey Mysterio Summerslam 2002 Favourite feud? Bret vs. Owen culminating in the Hart Foundation reunion years later Favourite angle? First six months of nWo, first six weeks of Invasion Favourite promotion/period of wrestling? I love the roster of WWF 1989 with all those NWA guys coming in, but favorite would probably be the Smackdown Six era Little things that happen in wrestling that you always love? I love when a group of heels shows camaraderie with each other. They're bad guys, but have a sense of brotherhood.

That's whats so confusing about something like that happening. Maybe Dusty? Ghost of the Junkyard Dog? And either way, who gives a crap about something said 30 years ago?
