Nick Patrick says that if they don’t wrestle them as per their contract he’ll count them out; the Midnights tell him to go ahead. Patrick counts them out and awards the victory to Scott and Walker. Stan Lane then congratulates them saying that they have done what few have ever done in wrestling, and that’s to get a win over the Midnight Express. The Midnights go to shake their hands but attack both of them. INT: Jim Cornette & Midnight Express - Cornette says that if the Dynamic Dudes have got the guts to get back in the ring with the Midnights not only will they embarrass them, but they will hurt them also. Cornette says how they want to get some attention, so challenges Ric Flair to put the World title up against Bobby Eaton on next week’s Main Event. Recap of Lex Luger vs Brian Pillman from Worldwide Wrestling Sting vs Agent Steele INT: Lex Luger - is gunning for the World title and whomever gets in his way is going to get hurt INT: Ric Flair Buzz Sawyer (w/ Gary Hart) vs Mike Justice INT: Buzz Sawyer & Gary Hart - a crazed Sawyer says how he told Hart that Terry Funk was a quitter because all Texans are quitters and he says how he’d die before he quit. Hart then says that J-Tex is bigger than Funk and its purpose it to take the World Heavyweight title from Ric Flair. Great Muta (w/ Gary Hart & Dragon Master) vs Ric Flair - Flair has Muta in the figure four when the Dragon Master interferes for the DQ. Flair sees him coming, throws him outside the ring and puts the figure four on him on the arena floor. Muta sprays the red mist in Flair’s face and Buzz Sawyer then comes out and they double team Flair with Sawyer hitting his top rope splash and Muta the moonsault. Say that they may be inexperienced and may not pose a threat just yet, however they saw them on the horizon and next year they may pose that threat, so decided to nip them in the buds before they got started. INT: Ric Flair Recap of Rick & Scott Steiner winning the Tag titles on WCW INT: Gary Hart & Mr J Sting & Brian Pillman vs New Zealand Militia - after the match Lord Littlebrook enters the ring, berates the Militia, says they are a disgrave and kicks them in their shins. He says that if they want to climb to the top of the ladder and be the greatest tag team in the World he will show them the way. They then leave with Littlebrook. They’re promoting the ‘I Quit’ match and Funk says that he doesn’t want the gold, doesn’t want the World title, he wants Ric Flair’s pride. Good stuff. Every time Norman tries to speak Long gets in his face and tells him to be quiet. Norman the Lunatic (w/ Teddy Long) vs Thad Clark - prior to the match some children in the crowd gave Teddy Bears to Norman, however Long took them off him and wouldn’t let him keep them. Dynamic Dudes (w/ Jim Cornette) vs Keith Steinborn & Joe Cazana - Michael Hayes & Jim Garvin come out to the commentary position for this match and they end up interfering and attacking the Dudes for the DQ. Cornette beckons the Midnight Express to come and help the Dudes. They take their time coming out and Bobby Eaton reluctantly helps fight off the Birds, whilst Stan Lane was even slower getting into the ring, by which time the Freebirds had fled. INT: Terry Funk & Gary Hart - Funk instructs Hart that under no circumstances does he want him to throw in the towel. Hart is concerned that if Funk were to sustain a career threatening injury then Funk would blame him. Funk insists that he doesn’t want Hart to throw in the towel at any point, so Hart says he has now cleared himself in public for anything that may happen to Funk. Michael Hayes & Jim Garvin vs Tony Suber & Italian Stallion INT: Michael Hayes & Jim Garvin INT: Woman - Jim Cornette goes to interview her at her hotel as she wont come to them. She explains that Kevin Sullivan hates Rick Steiner and he got her the men she needs to get the job done. Mike Rotunda vs Greg Evans Recap of Lex Luger and Brian Pillman from last week INT: Lex Luger - says that Brian Pilmman has tarnished his reputation and that reputation means more than anything, including the US title belt. Lex Luger vs Richard Sartain Steve Williams vs Fred Avery INT: Jim Cornette & Midnight Express - Stan Lane says that Cornette is spending too much time with the Dynamic Dudes, neglecting them, and that is why they aren’t getting the title shots. All they can do is make stipulations; they can’t fight for Sting and Flair, only the individual fights for himself. INT: Lex Luger - Jim Ross says how Brian Pillman accepted his open challenge last week, then Pillman shows up himself and says that he hasn’t had an answer yet. Luger accepts the challenge, then Pillman says about having it tonight on TBS? A less than enthusiastic Luger (after a bit of goading from Ross) accepts again. No referee and Pillman gets the better of the fight with Lex eventually retreating to the dressing room. Great way of getting Pillman over as a threat to Luger. Good stuff . Also claims that he is bigger than the US title. Road Warrior Animal (w/ Paul Ellering) vs Tim Parker INT: Road Warrior Animal & Paul Ellering Special Report - Gordon Solie who has just returned from Ric Flair’s press conference where it was announced that Flair paid Terry Funk’s $100,000 fine and that the suspension is lifted. He then confirms the ‘I Quit’ match at Clash of the Champions IX and the tag team main event at Halloween Havoc. INT: Gary Hart - he has been told by his attorneys that Terry Funk’s suspension wont stick as it is indefinite, and with it being indefinite you are messing with his constitutional rights and his ability to earn a living. INT: Lex Luger - has put out an open challenge, as says he can beat anyman in this sport. Lex Luger vs Rusty Riddle Video of Scott Steiner being attacked and assaulted - He is at a basketball court with the camera man waiting for Rick to show up. A limo then arrives and Robin Green is in it, but there is still no sign of Rick. She then winds up the window, opens the door and as Scott goes to get in, he is pulled in and attacked by two men. The camera man leaves to go and get help but leaves the video camera filming on the floor, then as Scott is thrown out of the limo he is kicked and attacked by another man who looks very much like Kevin Sullivan. Sting & Eddie Gilbert (w/ Missy Hyatt) vs New Zealand Militia - Sting has Jack Victory in the Scorpion deathlock when Terry Funk, Great Muta and Gary Hart come out and enter the ring. Funk nails Gilbert with his branding iron and they double team Sting with Funk ising his cowboy boots as weapons. A suited Ric Flair comes to Sting’s aid and they have a great brawl.
